Kelowna, BC’s leading death metal architects GOMORRAH announce they will be hosting a CD release show in Vancouver, BC on February 27th  @ 333 Clark with support from AngelMaker, Wormwitch, Atrous Leviathan and Vermin. Full event details can be found here.

GOMORRAH unleashed their new album ‘The Haruspex’ on Jan 15, 2016 viaTest Your Metal Records to follow up their 2013 debut album ‘Perception’. The album is now streaming in full and available digitally plus on CD along with a BastionXGomorrah collaboration long-sleeve T-shirt. Guitarist Bowen Matheson comments on the album:

“Jeff Bryan and I recorded the album at my home here in the Okanagan Valley, and we did the absolute majority of the writing in the pre-production and production stages. So much of the material had existed from several years ago, but was completely overhauled and reworked several times to end up in these tracks. We weren’t afraid to try things out and work over several revisions, or to take our hands off of a few of the songs that we felt very comfortable with after only the first revision. Jeff wrote the lyrics for the tracks in less than two months, and a lot of them were written and finalized in the vocal tracking stage, in front of the microphone.
We weren’t afraid to enable our music with production techniques. Many reviews have figured that we used samples or synthesizers in the songs, however the reality is that all of these droning noises, stutters, and otherwise ‘industrial’ sounds are actually either electric guitar or bass guitar, and abusing these instruments in front of their amplifiers with only two guitar effect pedals. The rest of these noises you hear are the interaction with the instrument and their environment.
We then delivered all of the tracks to Stuart McKillop of Rain City Recorders for mixing, and he blew us away. It didn’t take him long at all to catch onto what we were going for, and his consistency from one track to the next brought the tracks to the highest musical apex they could reach. Brad Boatright of Audiosiege handled the mastering, and he made certain that the product was of the outstanding final production quality for us. Brad has really yielded an outstanding quality for so many other abrasive sub-genres of metal and hardcore and he delivered that exact pinnacle of quality for us on this record as well.” – Bowen Matheson

About:

GOMORRAH, originally formed in the Okanagan Valley of British Columbia as a black metal outfit in 2006, has now grown into an assaulting death metal band – ready to unleash their boundary-pushing extreme sound on their second full-length album. The forthcoming album ‘The Haruspex’ is to be released on January 15, 2016 on Canadian label Test Your Metal Records.
“We have stepped up the quality of everything: the pre production, writing, structuring, lyrics, performances, mix and master have all been improved. The combination of those improvements translates to a major difference between our previous recordings, and the single “A Disaster’s Nightmare” – as well as our forthcoming full-length ‘The Haruspex’. Improvement, through effort and time.” Comments guitarist Bowen Matheson.
Their name is associated with a historical reference to a city mentioned in the Book of Genesis, the Qur’an and Hadith, the Torah, and the New Testament. The bands music conveys a claustrophobic animosity, through punishing guitar work, high-speed drumming, and guttural vocals. The lyrics provide an accessible gateway into the stories told in each song.
Gomorrah has shared the stage with Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Archspire, Ancients, Striker, Origin, Beyond Creation, King Parrot, Ninjaspy, KenMode, Bison BC, The Agonist, Fuck The Facts, The Order of Chaos, Slumlord, and Fall City Fall.

About:

Capturing the classic thrash sound of the Big Four in their prime; early Metallica, Testament, Slayer, and Megadeth as well as lesser known cult heroes Exodus, Annihilator, Forbidden and Havok.  FALLEN ANGELS is influenced by a wide range of 80’s thrash as well as classic metal from the 70’s and 80’s. The band combines these elements in a fresh, modern sounding album with the explosive riffs and solos that one might have expected to hear on the radio around 1989.  FALLEN ANGELS is a band that thrash fans and more classic metal oriented fans can agree on because the music is catchy but also very aggressive.

0 Metal Nation Radio – Review – Striker – Stand In The Fire (Record Breaking Records)

  • January 27, 2016
  • by Asher
  • · Striker

they seem to flawlessly blend the aggressive riffing of Primal Fear with the finesse and melodic sensibilities of Firewind.  Throw in some very subtle hints of early Ratt with a heavy dose of NWOBHM and the end result is Striker…If you like your metal traditional with power metal overtones and subtle hints of early to mid-eighties glam, then you will love Stand In The Fire.

0 Murska-Arviot – Divinity – The Immortalists pt. 2: Momentum EP (2016)

  • January 26, 2016
  • by Asher
  • · Divinity

Todella upea minilevy, jota voin hyvin mielin suositella teknisen deathin kuluttajille.

Album pre-order available at http://smarturl.it/NecronomShop

Bandcamp | iTunes | Amazon | CD Baby

“Symphonic metal that smashes poseur acts like Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of Filth” – Metal Maniac
“Best moments of BEHEMOTH and symphonic death à la GODFLESH APOCALYPSE while remaining entirely Necronomicon.” – Bravewords

“Advent of the Human God is a truly diverse album, perfectly balancing plenty of atmosphere with their iconic chugging riffs and pummelling blast beats.” – Exclaim!

“Advent of the Human God boasts both a Behemoth-like epic savage grace and Dimmu-esque orchestral pomp. But it also delivers a more primal ferocity and maintains the thematic air that has become Necronomicon’s forte” – Metal Rules

“”Their sound is akin to an Anti-Christ infant spawned from the blasphemous union of Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth.”” – Metal Underground

“The drums crash like Nordic avalanches on tracks like “Alchemy of the Avatar.” With its blazing jugular seeking guitar riffs and crazed piano breaks over top double kick drum insanity, this last song makes for a perfect ending to a blistering listen.” – Beatroute (AB)

“‘Necronomicon opened the show with a thoroughly impressive display of symphonic death metal… The best way to describe them would be a symphonic version of Winds of Creation-era Decapitated, with perhaps some Vital Remains mixed in. Lots of cool grooves and hair spinning moments!’” – Metal Injection (Live Review)

“Necronomicon makes for a pleasantly addictive listen. So come along, get lost in big soundscapes and punchy riffs – Necronomicon may have unveiled the future of their genre.” – Two Guys Metal Reviews

“avec Advent Of The Human God, Necronomicon nous présente l’album de leur carrière, point final.” – Boulevard Brutal

“Le disque possède des chansons excessivement accrocheuses comme Unification of The Four Pillars, Crown of Thorns, (I) Bringer of Light et The Golden Gods. ” – Voir

“True masters of Canadian Black Metal / Death Metal. They deliver exactly what I like and need, I respect what they do, and the music they create. With every album they lure me in even further, there is exceptional talent behind Necronomicon.  Over the years I have grown more to appreciate the talent behind this band, they may be death and black, but they have created their own unique sound and style, giving us so much more than just black/death metal. ” – Metal Titans (Live Review)

“Necronomicon received a warm welcome and went on to pummel their home town fans with a relentless set of tunes from the most recent release (“Advent Of The Human God” out on Seasons Of Mist) all the way back to “The Silver Key”” Montreal Rocks (Live Review)

“Once I took a good listen to “Advent of the Human God” though, I was hooked and looking forward to seeing Necronomicon in person. I get a vibe that is somewhere in between Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth from the Canadian three piece. During their performance, Necronomicon went through some of the best songs in their recent discography. I’d like to note how impressed I am with Rob the Witch (guitar/vocals) and his clean playing (the guitar solos couldn’t have been executed any better). Shout out to whoever helped make Necronomicon open this tour because there couldn’t have been a better decision.” – The New Fury (Live Review)

“From the very start, the band put on an energetic performance and fans responded well.” – Soundcheck 411 (Live Review)

“Advent of the Human God sees a more symphonic side of Necronomicon, amalgamating orchestral elements and atmospheric ambience with harsh, chugging rhythms and unrelenting brutal blasts.” Svbterranean

“Advent of the Human God demands attention and is well worthy of all the attention and praise heaped at its feet. Depth, scope and eye opening undeniably a feat of unfathomable prowess within the Gothic/black/symphonic/death genre.” – Thy Demons Be Scribblin

“Necronomicon’s Advent of the Human God is an excellent and carefully crafted oeuvre that deserves every positive critique that it should soon receive.” – Teach’s Criterion of Metal

“Fans of extreme metal will want to check out this new release. In the Lovecraftian universe, the Necronomicon is a book best avoided for fear of what it may bring. But this Necronomicon is something that should not only be opened, but enjoyed. If nothing else, be sure to listen to “(I) Bringer of Light.” It’s a powerful track.” – Sea of Tranquility

“Necronomicon may mean “Book of the Dead”, but there is nothing dead about this release. Song after song made me want to run right out and “BREAK SHIT”. The lyrics are dark and gloomy with a medieval feel and the guitar riffs are hard driving, and ear drum blistering. This is not a sound you will find just anywhere, they have aged like a fine wine and are bold, fresh and unique all at the same time.” – Broken Neck Radio

“Advent of the Human God” is a stellar offering of aggressive death metal with impressive symphonics.” – Skull Fracturing Metal

“Advent of The Human God is another step further in the solid career of this precious gem made in Canada, which obviously translates into pure awesomeness for fans of extreme music.” – The Headbanging Moose

“Quality over quantity has always been a paramount factor in the music of Canadian Symphonic Blackened Death Metal veterans Necronomicon during their twenty-seven-year career, releasing material only when the trio consider it up to their exacting standard, ever since their demo ‘Morbid Ritual’ firmly established them within the Canadian Metal underground. Now with five full lengths under their belt this latest offering, ‘Advent Of The Human God’ is no exception to that firm rule.” – Metal Talk

“The long-running extreme metal band Necronomicon has a new album, a symphonic blasting death metal work that continues the sound for which the Canadians are known. Expect a professional album with a seriousness of purpose and hard work for supporters of modern extreme/black/death metal.” – Metal Bulletin

“Necronomicon present a new recording that feels like more of an experience than just your average collection of atmospherically charged compositions in or outside the scope of a conceptual release, and its that dark imagery surrounding H.P. Lovecraft‘s ancient ones and their influence in humanity that continues to remain center stage in the death metal community” – Apoch Metal Review

“The blast beats came out at a speed no mortal human being could reach…this album kicks ass and it’s a must own” – Glacially Musical
“I imagine Rise of the Elder Ones played at the gates of hell, during your descent into the bleak eternity where you can smoke, drink, and high-five Satan all day.” – Metal Sucks

Rising from the 90’s “The Canadian Occult Legend (BWBK)” have sailed against all storms and wars to conquer all countries they landed under heaven and earth. It is not without difficulties that the pioneers of the dark genre have kept the machine alive, but nevertheless, their faith and strong belief in the band’s message has succeeded to overcome the worst and beyond. Since the beginning of the new millennium, the cult of the Book of the Dead keeps spreading around the world, taking the fans by surprise like a disease. Renowned for its live presence and intensity, the Occultist trinity aims for nothing less than reaching every area of the living world, doing what they do best – rocking the stage.

The “Pharaoh of Gods” album became a classic a few years after its release. Now considered to be too advanced for is time, mixing brutal dark metal with almost “new age” ambiances. As for “Return of the Witch”, which became the first worldwide release, bringing the band to tour the Old continent for the first time.

Previous releases are not to be forgotten, starting with the “Morbid Ritual” demo, which was nationally acclaimed. “The Silver Key” EP gained attention from labels in the US and overseas, especially with the title track song. Last but not least, the extremely tribal “The Sacred Medicines”: an American Native concept featuring “Red Bull” singers from Western Canada’s Cree Nation on the title track.

Necronomicon originally comes from the deep northern part of the Canadian province of Quebec, called the “Fjord of Saguenay”. The band later relocated in the city on Montreal, now well known for the quality of is metal scene, to ensure a more prosperous future for the band… Something that would’ve been impossible in their remote Nordic home region.

Since the beginning, the band always blended in mixing ambiances with extreme metal, along with atmospheric passages using narration and angelic female voices, exotic instruments and various orchestrations. Although every album has its own theme, it is also part of the grand concept of the band itself.

Their hard work and renowned growth brought them to share the stage and tour with several well established bands such as Cradle of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, Morbid Angel, to name a few, as well as invitations to well renowned festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Heavy MTL (Canada), Ragnarok (Germany), the Barge to Hell metal cruise and more.

Stopping at nothing, the Eternal trio led by the Dark One, Rob “The Witch”, is now working with the well-established record label “Season of Mist”. This is the call upon the opening of the gateway for their new offspring for 2016… “Advent of The Human God” to conquer everything from darkness onto the light to follow 2013’s ‘Rise of The Elder Ones’ on of the band’s darkest; meanest album created.

Shared stage with:
Cannibal corpse, Cradle of filth, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir, Morbid Angel, Mercyful Fate, Septicflesh, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Deicide, Samael, Rotting Christ, Napalm Death.

Tours and Festivals:
2015 – USA Tour (with Vital remains)
2014 – US/CAN Conquerors of The World (with Septicflesh and Fleshgod Apocalypse)
2013 – US Delaware Death Fest
2013 – US/CAN No salvation tour (with Deicide)

What is BRUTAL SUMMER FEST TOUR?

It’s a seven date tour with five to seven international bands, ten crew members, two bus drivers and one big bus on the road for two weeks across Cuba.

The selected Canadian band will share the stage with five or six other talented international bands every night and will be on the road during the day visiting every aspect of the Cuban culture.

Not only will the winning band be sent to tour with Brutal Fest in Cuba with tour shirts and promo stickers, but they will also have the opportunity to be endorsed by companies such as InTune Guitar Picks and SoulTone Cymbals as well as a few other great prizes from their sponsors.

Are you ready for the most Brutal experience of your life?
