Music Video – Manhunt – Watch here.

Calgary, AB progressive death metal band DIVINITY are gearing up for the release of their upcoming EP ‘The Immortalist Part 2. Momentum’ set to be unleashed on February 5th  to follow 2013’s ‘The Immortalist – Part 1 – Awestruck’. But before it hits your speakers, the band have teamed up with Decibel Magazinefor the exclusive EP Premiere via the following link: http://decibelmagazine.com/blog/2016/1/26/divinity-back-where-they-belong

Vocalist Sean Jenkins comments:

“This new release is Part 2 of a trilogy EP concept we’ve been working on since 2013. These four new songs continue to develop our storyline of ‘The Immortalist’ and we look forward to finishing our trilogy EP with a release of Part 3 by the end of this year. The song ‘DMT’ features guest vocals by Björn ‘Speed’ Strid of Soilwork and we think he did an amazing performance. Thanks to the pro mixing/mastering skills of Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) at The Grid. We couldn’t be more happy with how this entire EP turned out.”

‘The Immortalist Part 2. Momentum’ was produced by DIVINITY and mixed and mastered by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy) at The Grid studio in Montreal along with artwork created by Justin Totemical. The EP is also part of DIVINITY‘s EP trilogy series that will lead up to a full length release later in 2016.

The Immortalist – Trilogy Overview

DIVINITY have decided to release a full-length album in a different way. They are going to create a 3 part series of 4-song EPs that will develop a full length concept album they are calling ‘The Immortalist’. Doing an Indiegogo campaign in 2012, the band was able to gather enough support to get the production rolling. In April 2013, the band released the first of three EPs entitled, ‘The Immortalist, Part 1 – Awestruck’, which put the trilogy EP idea into motion. With ‘The Immortalist, Part 2 –Momentum’ being released in early February 2016, this leaves Part 3 left to complete and the band is already on top of the writing/recording process for the final 4 songs. Once all 3 EPs are complete, DIVINITY will release an LP version as a 12 song full-length album which is slated to be released later this year.

About:

DIVINITY is made up of 5 musicians with 4 of them being original members of nearly 20 years of playing together. They’ve been described as Progressive Death Metal and compared to bands such as Soilwork, Strapping Young Lad, Death, and Fear Factory.

Current Line-up:

Sean Jenkins – Vocals

Jeff Waite – Vocals

James Duncan – Guitars

Brett Duncan – Drums

Keith Branston – Bass

DIVINITY, based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, started in 1997 and began playing live shows in 1999. In 2001, the band released its first EP album called “Intensify”, which received a lot of local (Canadian) praise. A music video was released for the song “World of Pain” in 2003.

Fast forward to 2007, DIVINITY independently releases their first full-length album called “Allegory” and is picked up by Nuclear Blast Records just 3 months after the independent release. Obviously, this was a major turning point for the band!

In 2008, DIVINITY took on it’s first major tour by joining the Summer Slaughter Canada tour. This gave them the opportunity to connect to high-caliber booking agents and other acts such as Dying Fetus, Whitechapel, and Necrophagist.

Then in 2010, DIVINITY spent its time creating their 2nd full-length album called “The Singularity”,which was released under Candlelight Records with a very positive response from numerous reviewers and listeners. Since the release of The Singularity, DIVINITY has toured Canada numerous times over and has received countless support and praise from around the world.

Currently, The band looks forward to finishing the release of The Immortalist Trilogy and doing follow up touring to support it later this year!

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine

“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing

“The Exilebrings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The Exile is one hell of an intense and adventurous ride, and one that must be experienced if you dig on metal that is several steps to the left of centre.” – The Metal Forge

“Rapheumet’s Well waste no time in getting things going with opening track Ressurecting The Blood Gate, which sets the scene with an acoustic and stripped-back line before swiftly progressing into a heavier and fuller sound, complete with an absolutely stunning symphonic section, and when the vocals kick in, they hit you like a tonne of bricks. There’s so much body and power behind their delivery, and they subsequently leave a real impression on you.” – Soundscpae Magazine

“Interspersing lush orchestral bits into some brutally heavy yet beautifully melodic music, this band has managed to create one of my absolute favorite albums of the year so far.” – Get Ready To Rock!

Rapheumets Well - Press Photo

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based Rapheumets Well (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists.

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, Rapheumets Well is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel. Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers. The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

“We created this name in hopes of personifying a living gateway between dimensions. We love science fiction and a few of us have extended education and degrees in science.” says drummer Joshua Ward.

Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014. Recorded by the band members, mixed and mastered by drummer Joshua Ward (Elders Realm Studio), ‘Dimensions’ featured 10 songs (from first song to last song) that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse.

From the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of Rapheumets Well’s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities, which is now continued in the band’s sophomore release ‘The Exile’ due out on March 18th, 2016 via Test Your Metal Records.

“The tracks are in chronological order to the story we present, we want the fans to experience it in relation to the music. We like to build a more personal relationship with fans and the music, that is why we are so focused on the story and the music in harmony.” Says Ward “Immersion, depth, our mission is more than the music but a whole sound and visual scope, which focuses around the story in which our album conveys. We are hoping to appease the appreciators of brutal music while keeping a homeostatic overtone with cosmic and ambient sounds.”

Live the band’s concert theatrics is a show truly to entertain the crowd with an opus of metal while still satisfying their story lines in their music creating an intimate but relatable ambiance for fans, especially those who enjoy bands such as Dimmu Borgir, Fleshgod Apocalypse, The Faceless, Emperor, Black Crown Initiate.

Concept album Summary:

In the infinite sea of the multiverse exists the plain of Sovael. From the musical works of the symphonic metal act Rapheumets Well, Sovael hides many mysteries and reveals the complex saga of the Atai (ancient architects) who aids in the propagation of sentient life throughout the cosmos. Taking place during “Soyumoth’s War” another elder architect has fled the ranks of the greater counsel. Sotath Shal along with his three nefarious servants has come to enslave the planet of Vranath Su, a desert world rich in minerals and rarities. After witnessing the atrocities of the fallen elder, Darmak alone rises against the falsifiers and so forth begins the journey of the exile.

Truth is this is a journey that viciously represents the hardships of life (in a really weird and complex way). The main character is benevolent by nature, vicious by skill and under goes tremendous torture in the name of his personal views. The main thing is, he stayed true to himself, and he is a rather bad a** character. But this whole story derives during the grand war that is across the cosmos. For the women, there is some mild romance.

About:
With ‘Advent Of The Human God’, NECRONOMICON present themselves at a new height in their long lasting career, which began as early as 1988 with the founding of the band by guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” Tremblay in the deep northern part of Canadian province Quebec, called the “Fjord of Saguenay”.

The Canadian veterans keep their tracks as gloriously epic as furiously massive and harsh. Songs like “The Golden Gods”, “Unification Of The Four Pillars”, “Crown Of Thorns” and “I Bringer Of Light” tell of experienced songwriting and an eclectic wide range of influences that flow into the sound of NECRONOMICON. Nodding to DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH to DEICIDE and SUFFOCATION, these extreme metal addicts carve their own sound out of the much cherished ingredients of brutal dark music.

NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled “Morbid Ritual” (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. “The Silver Key” EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album “Pharaoh Of Gods” (1999) and the sophomore “The Sacred Medicines” (2003) did even more to establish the band as a household name in Canada. “Return Of The Witch” (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Their steady advance around the globe grew considerably in impact by their next full-length “Rise Of The Elder Ones” (2013). Now NECRONOMICON are more than ready for the next step with ‘Advent Of The Human God’. Lay back and enjoy the darkness!
