0 Hellbound – Buffalo Theory MTL – Skeptic Knight (Stand Productions)
“Conspiracy in Paranoland” offers some solid stoner grooves, a chugging, mid-tempo number that kinda reminds me of Fu Manchu. “Punishment” has a pretty strong Down influence, with that mid-tempo, breakdown-heavy, semi-stoner thrash, and a chorus that leaves a bustle in your hedgerow.

0 Hellbound – Rhine – An Outsider
Rhine is one of metal’s best kept secrets… but not for much longer.
Rhine play progressive heavy metal in the best sense of the word. With some progressive metal bands, there is often an over emphasis on the progressive over the heavy or vice-versa, but Rhine have got the balance just right.
0 Kingston Music Reviews – Rhine – An Outsider
An Outsider by Rhine has to be one of the most interesting and intriguing Metal albums that I have ever listened to. I have run through this album more times than the average album I review. The innovation and experimentation on this album is definitely what sets this album apart from any Most if not all Metal albums.

‘The Haruspex’ is a monster of an album that will keep any Metalhead happy for years to come.

Featuring five annihilating tracks each with its own eclectic flavour / twist, all will appeal highly to fans of Down, COC, Queens of the Stone Age and Black Sabbath.
“Conspiracy in Paranoland – the particularity about this song is that it was written at the time of our demo CD in 2010. It was recorded then, but we didn’t have time to record the vocals. Therefore, we’ve been playing it live once in a while for the last 5 years (it was also part of the set list on our 1st show) and finally got to record a proper version of it! Conspiracy in Paranoland is a 100% pure “vintage BTMTL”!” comments bassist Gary Lyons.

About:
BUFFALO THEORY MTL is a band of beer chugging, heavy riffing fans for the fans. Attributing their name to a scene from the pop culture 80’s TV show CHEERS (Cliff Claven explains the Buffalo theory of beer to his buddy Norm (explanation here.)) and the MTL abbreviation representing their pride for their hometown of Montreal, these seasoned veterans from the Canadian and Brazilian metal scenes are always ready to set the stage ablaze with their stoner / thrash infused metal for beer lovers around the world.
Comprised of members from legendary Quebec bands Ghoulunatics, Les Ékorchés, Arseniq 33 and currently active Vantablack Warship along with vocalist Anton Parr’s experience in thrash bands in Brazil. BUFFALO THEORY MTL’s passion for metal is truly in the blood of this quintet whose past experiences are a combined amount of over 1300 shows, 15 studio albums along with sharing the stage with bands such as Korn, Marilyn Manson, Testament and Suicidal Tendencies.
The band’s first EP ‘Live In Studio’ was released in 2010 and was later followed by their debut full length 2012’s ‘Heavy Ride’ released via Galy Records, which was then followed by their 2014 EP “Murder Trilogy’.

NoCleanSinging.com Premiere Éohum ‘The Apathetic Plague’; New EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ Out March 18th

Originally written as a literal, poetic project, Montreal, QC based Éohum(pronounced ee-o-um) formed in 2010 is a traditionalist and cultural identitarian band produced from the mind of guitarist Jeremy Perkins to create a relentless, anthemic groove -doom- tinged black metal to emphasize a message clearly depicting people’s lack of interest in the past relationship we held with nature and our ancestral ways.
Unleashing their debut “Revelations, Aurora Of An Epoch” in 2015 with a collective of musicians that included names such as Matt McGachy of Cryptopsy and Simon Mackay of The Agonist, Éohum return in 2016 with their latest offering and EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th.
The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5 and features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso whom have been part of the line up for the last year. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school plus very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.
Éohum‘s first single ‘The Apathetic Plague’ is now streaming via NoCleanSinging at the following link: http://www.nocleansinging.com/2016/02/12/an-ncs-premiere-eohum-the-apathetic-plague/
Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:
“The Apathetic Plague is the track I am most proud of, the arrangement and overall producing came out strong and clearly depicts Éohum sound as a whole with our full lineup and new skin!
The message projected in this song lyrically reveals our main message and thematic in this EP; being the loss of interest and connection between human cultures and the environment they are from in our greed filled, corrupt world of today. Apathy runs deep replacing our roots and ancestral symbiotic ways!”

0 Thy Demons Be Scribblin – Martriden – Cold And Silence
Each of the tracks on display in Cold and Silence are pleasingly ambitious sporting complex and intriguing melodies all accompanied by a distinct harsh vocal style (more often found in melodic death or black metal releases) as well as a cleaner more traditional style to add depth and emotion. Progressive passages lead the listener on a journey, a soundscape one might not expect in this genre, a tapestry of experiences within multi-faceted musical capsules that far surpass anything a yet unsigned act usually offer…Overall an album I am very pleased to have asked to review and a release that any fan will and can appreciate. Expect this to be stuck in your media/CD player for this is a treasure to experience.
