This spring, Canadian neo-rock nerds Double Experience are coming back with their third album entitled “Unsaved Progress” set for release on April 8th via their label Colfax Music. The Ottawa-based trio are taking the next step from their previous album – initially released exclusively on collectible trading cards – by utilizing classic video-game inspired artwork and packaging.
In support of the new release, the band will be hitting the road for an East coast tour of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before crossing the pond for their European tour in May.
“As a Canadian fan, nothing is more disappointing then when one of my favorite bands announces Canadian tour dates and only plays a few cities. Our goal for the Spring is to really dig deep into our home country and see a side of Canada most people never get to enjoy.” says Ian Nichols, vocalist.
4/16 St. Peters, NS @ Mabouche
DOUBLE EXPERIENCE‘s first single ‘So Fine’ is streaming now on Exclaim! at the following link: http://exclaim.ca/music/article/double_experience-so_fine, which will be followed soon by a music video with a teaser for it at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpU9xZus6yE
Pre-orders are now available at the band’s merch store here. A deluxe edition of the album – boasting two unreleased songs, two acoustic remixes, merch discount codes, studio footage and a brand new trading card – is also available for the fastidious Double Experience collector.
The album was brought to life with the help of Al Jacob and Kit Walters (HE IS LEGEND) at Warrior Sound in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Prior to the creation of “Unsaved Progress”, Double Experience were busy performing across 15 countries, playing everywhere from video game museums to tattoo conventions as well as showcases at Canadian Music Week and Indie Week Canada. Their adventures have been supported by international radio, festivals and television alike, culminating with an entire nerd-rock exposé and performance on Global TV in Canada.

About:
With ‘Advent Of The Human God’, NECRONOMICON present themselves at a new height in their long lasting career, which began as early as 1988 with the founding of the band by guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” Tremblay in the deep northern part of Canadian province Quebec, called the “Fjord of Saguenay”.
The Canadian veterans keep their tracks as gloriously epic as furiously massive and harsh. Songs like “The Golden Gods”, “Unification Of The Four Pillars”, “Crown Of Thorns” and “I Bringer Of Light” tell of experienced songwriting and an eclectic wide range of influences that flow into the sound ofNECRONOMICON. Nodding to DIMMU BORGIR and BEHEMOTH to DEICIDE and SUFFOCATION, these extreme metal addicts carve their own sound out of the much cherished ingredients of brutal dark music.
NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled “Morbid Ritual” (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. “The Silver Key” EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album “Pharaoh Of Gods” (1999) and the sophomore “The Sacred Medicines” (2003) did even more to establish the band as a household name in Canada. “Return Of The Witch” (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Their steady advance around the globe grew considerably in impact by their next full-length “Rise Of The Elder Ones” (2013). NowNECRONOMICON are more than ready for the next step with ‘Advent Of The Human God’. Lay back and enjoy the darkness!

Decibel Mag Premiere ÉOHUM ‘Eurocide’ (French Horn Black Metal); New EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ Out March 18th
Show Dates:
March 17 – Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar (CD Release Show) – Event info

Montreal black metallers Éohum have teamed up with Decibel Mag for the premiere of their second single ‘Eurocide’ off their upcoming EP ‘Ealdfaeder’ set for release on March 18th.
Band founder and guitarist Jeremy Perkins comments:
“Eurocide is the opener to our EP, a direct introduction with sounds of flutes and drum, influenced by the Celtic and Gaulic sound. Notes you would of heard in ancient Druidic ceremonies and festivals.
The EP was recorded at Chris Donaldson’s (Cryptopsy) “The Grid” with a special guest recording from drummer Simon Mackay of The Agonist on tracks 2-4-5 and features a line up with band founder Perkins on guitar along with the return of Annie Perreault on French horn/flute, guitarist Sylvain Dumont, vocalist Barrie Butler plus new comers bassist Cesar Franco and drummer Luca Belviso whom have been part of the line up for the last year. All are focused on the distinct grassroots of old school plus very heavy progression that has flourished since last year to give way to a distinct path, sound and image with each member sharing common ground on the message, beliefs and ideas behind Éohum.
To listen to ‘Eurocide’ along with interview with band founder Jeremy Perkins, please visit the following link via Decibel Magazine: http://decibelmagazine.com/blog/2016/2/22/ohum-where-black-metal-meets-the-environment-heritage-and-french-horns

Originally written as a literal, poetic project by Perkins, his surrounding friends at the time having musical roots and a background in metal, then sprouted the idea for him to create Éohum.
