HOWLING GIANT is what happens when three nerds write about space travel, doomed seafarers, and a sentient android hellbent for a camel killing death crusade. HOWLING GIANT plays self-indulgent, drop-tuned, fuzzed out riffs that could curdle milk. With the release of their upcoming EP ‘Black Hole Space Wizard: Part 1’ due out on August 12th, the fuzz rockers from Nashville, TN have teamed up with Idobi Radio for the premiere of their first single ‘Mothership’ streaming at the following link: http://idobi.com/exclusives/premiere/premiere-howling-giants-mothership/
Drummer Zachary Wheeler comments on the track:
“Mothership’ sets the scene for the Black Hole Space Wizard universe. Mankind has ravaged earth and has been forced to live on a giant space station which they revere as the pinnacle of human achievement. About halfway through the track we start to focus on a group of humans answering a call to defend the Mothership from an unknown entity.”
‘Black Hole Space Wizard: Part 1’ was produced by HOWLING GIANT, mixed by Kim Auch plus mastered by Chris Fasco as the follow up to their 2015 self titled debut.

About:
A lone survivor trapped on a ravaged Mother Earth.

Biography
Thundering in the distance of the Canadian prairies from the depths of Winnipeg hail four-piece ENTITY generating blasphemous death metal tainted with thrash. The four-year-old project grew out of a desire to generate terrifying metal complete with gratuitous solos and complimentary blast beats that whip each song into shape. They have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such acts as Skeletonwitch, Cryptopsy, and legendary Canadian metal act Razor.
Carl Brown (bass), Kyle Braun (drums), Adam Kozak (guitar/vocals), Tyler Augusto (guitar) are constantly pushing their writing abilities to create music that sounds like an army pacing through the muddy trenches of war and emerges victorious. Their influences are present in each song, and elements from old school thrash to new school technical death metal can be extracted throughout. Instrumentally, the guitar tone pierces through the blasting drums and is stitched together with doomy vocals. Each song is written to be a map through a tremendous journey with the band as the listener’s adept guide.
The band has produced a slew of demos and albums over the course of 4 years and is ready to release the height of their musical efforts, ‘Phobia Of The Formless’ [LP] in early 2017. Their songs are filled with torturous lyrics that pair well with their high energy stage performance. Catch them on tour Summer 2016 across Western Canada on their way to Armstrong Metal Fest.

“Perfectly situated to please fans of classic heavy metal, Conductor Of Storms is very strong debut from the young Medevil.” – The Monolith
“Has the late Ronnie James Dio possessed Chilliwack, BC’s heavy metal unit,Medevil? It kinda sounds like it on the newly released track “Machination Factory.””- Yell! Magazine
“Play it loud, play it fast as heavy metal world has found another new soldier to carry on the flag in the form of “Medevil” – Planet Caravan
“Man, what an album! With the sound and feel of vintage Thrash, which is (thankfully) again gaining popularity, Medevil shows itself to be a future force in Metal with their debut release of Conductor ofStorms! From the first time I heard this album to the twentieth, I have been entertained, wow’ed and impressed by the sound of this uber-talented band. Maybe some of our kids will think back thirty years from now and still love the way they felt when first hearing killer bands like Medevil. Pick it up on the 26thand enjoy it for years!” – Metal Nexus
“Conductor of Storms is one of the most complete, fully-formed and damn near perfect debut albums I’ve ever heard from a young heavy metal band. Tracks like Escape – a blustering, no-holds-barred mashup of Metal Church, Megadeth and Overkill – are just so mature, so faultlessly executed and so, well, heavy metal, it beggars belief that they are not being delivered by a band that’s been in the game for thirty years.” – Sentinel Daily
“Their debut album, Conductor of Storms, is pure old school, early American metal with elements of old school thrash and a dash of NWOBHM for good measure….This album is definitely for fans of the old school metal sound. Medevil’sConductor of Storms will teleport you old farts back to better days when we were still young, ambitious, and had hope for the future even though the soundtrack we had was usually dark and dreary. Ah to be young again! ****” – Get Ready To Rock
“these guys are just bloody good at what they do!..Wow, what an amazing mixture of nostalgia and self-willingness and at such a high level for a young band. Fans of the 80’s, you go and buy that thing!” – Lords of Metal
“One more thing I’d like to mention is the conceptual feel of the whole thing, probably triggered by the similarity in ‘The Angel Of Rain’ and the classic metal anthem ‘A Sacrifice’. I miss that feeling in many present day heavy metal albums. Classics like ‘Ride The Lightning’, ‘Peace Sells…But Who’s Buying’, ‘Painkiller’ or ‘Breaker’ were no mere collection of songs but a musical unity. Well, ‘Conductor Of Storms’ has that same feeling as those classics, something I can only applaud. This album is a gem, a must-have in every self-respecting heavy metal collection. ” – Merchants of Air
“The album features eight bass filled, drum enhanced and vocally strong songs. From the opening build up in “Nightwalk” to the final note in “The Fabled Uxorcicide” demonstrates the time, talent and effort that went into making this album.” – Canadian Beats
“The heavy raw guitar riffs and pounding drums and bass make way for one of the best pure metal voices to come around in a long time. Liam Collingwood is like the second coming of the late great David Wayne from Metal Church throw in bit of the immortal metal God UDO and you have one hell of a metal voice. Make no mistake Collingwood is no copycat! This guy brings an awesome raw knock your teeth out attitude, and has his own distinctive metal voice….Medevil brings all the old school sound of Metal Church, Accept, Saxon and mixes in Pantera and some great shred and progressive metal and then makes it all come together with their own fresh and new sound. Just an amazing album from start to finish a must have for every metal head young and old.” – The Dirty Room
“Great new band. A little dream has come true for me with this. 🙂 Medevil capture all the things I love so much about metal.” – Metal Underdogs
“Riding out of the cold wastes of western Canada on warhorses of steel comes Medevil with their amazing, self-released debut album Conductor of Storms. Bruising Traditional Heavy Metal is what these guys play and they play it well. Monstrous riffs and pounding, organic drums underscore the powerful vocals and intricate solos. The band has a taste for things epic, so no love songs or cliché odes to the Metal lifestyle here.” – Metal Crypt
“Whoa, where did this band come from? Canadian power metal/thrash band Medevil knows how to make one hell of a first impression with their debut ‘Conductor of Storms’….Categorizing them as power/thrash is just scratching the surface of what makes this album so compelling, as the instrumentals have a flair for the progressive and head into unexpected territory with each song. Early on it sounds like you’re going to get a healthy dose of 80s thrash and early power metal that’s delivered with precision, but by the time you get to The Angel of Rain the band has mellowed out completely and heads towards sweeping progressive melodies that are incredibly compelling. Plus when you have a vocalist who sounds like Udo Dirkschneider in his prime, Medevil sure knows how to stand out.” – TO Metal
“Medevil must have a time turner, because they have reclaimed the spirit of early metal. Not just the spirit, but the sound. The guitars have a classic tube amp sound with amazing sound. It also doesn’t hurt to hear the boys meshing on harmony licks and the addition of a few modern techniques keep their playing fresh….Though this is a self released record, it sounds nothing like one. This album is aurally crafted to perfection. Brickwalling, nope. Too quiet, nope. None of the indie traps are here and it’s a breath of fresh air. Medevil has taken all of the classically metal archetypes and created a second wave of traditional heavy metal. If this is what they can do on their debut, we should be hearing about these gents from Chiliwack, BC many times over the years.” – Glacially Musical
“A metal band from Chilliwack, BC? If that isn’t bad ass enough for ya’ the album, Conductor of Storms definitely will take up the slack. Thriving on rhythm and familiarity this is a release that can’t be ignored and on all accounts an act that has to be witnessed live to get the full experience. Keep an eye on these fellas they aregoing places!!…Liam’s unique vocal approach puts me in mind of both Ronny James and Bobby “Blitz” Ellsworth respectively, a fascinating range (if truth be told) that completely enthralls.” – Thy Demons Be Scribblin
“The moment the red stage lights came on and Medevil walked out, led by their cloaked singer, a small horde amassed at the front of the stage to watch the opening act from Chilliwack. I have seldom seen so many people excited for a local opener, but the trollish heavy metal delivered by the talented quintet brought the crowd into a head-banging frenzy.’ – Bucketlist Music Reviews
‘They bring a great attitude to the table and once again, their stage show is second to none’ – Broken Neck Radio
‘Chilliwack’s unholy sons Medevil battered the crowd with a relentless assault of wicked flaming metal, like a rocket-propelled bat out of hell.’ – Factory Worker Media

L-R – Eric Wesa (Bass/Backup Vocals), Ross Collingwood (Drums), Liam Collingwood (Vocals), Gary Cordsen (Lead Guitar), Brett Gibbs (Rhythm Guitar)
It is one of the most magical moments in a band’s life when they release their debut album. We can only imagine what Kerry King and Tom Araya felt like on the eve of ‘Show No Mercy’ being unleashed on the world, or the excitement that must have coursed through Steve Harris and Dave Murray as their self-titled debut was about to escape into an unsuspecting and never to be the same again world.
Well, Medevil don’t just imagine it…their debut album ‘Conductor of Storms’ is about to explode in a blast of metallic thunder and lightning upon the earth.
Hailing from Chiliwack, BC, Medevil are a hard-working progressive band, constantly striving to improve their songs, a fact not missed by Wacken Metal Battle Canada, where Medevil made the top 6!
Band vocalist Liam Collingwood explains the band’s memorable moniker. ‘The band name was thought up by Eric and fits our style of music perfectly.’
Liam is very serious about the bands modus operandi. ‘Medevil formed as a creative outlet for each member. The goal of our band is to satisfy our creative desires, while maintaining our standard of quality and to expand our knowledge of music as a whole. In five words, I’d sum up our music as power/thrash/prog/heavy metal.’
Liam says if he had to pick one Medevil track to represent the band it would be ‘the song ‘Machination Factory’ as it is one of the heavier songs on the album and it’s also the newest song that we wrote so it’s fresher in our heads. We wanted to release something first that would be a good start at representing our band even though future songs may.’
Liam reveals that song-writing is very much a collaborative effort. ‘We normally have a bunch of riff ideas ourselves and then we all come together to complete our vision…We all take part in the writing. All the songs have some sort of collaboration going on, even though some may be very minor alterations. We try to collaborate on projects as much as possible without destroying the original vision.’
While the band collaborates strongly on the music, the lyrics are Liam’s department, as you’d expect. ‘Lyrics are normally written based on an emotion or a story I am thinking of at the time that I want to project. Although sometimes I have some melodies in my head that I really like which I try to put into my lyrics. Some songs are more about a story I am telling whether fictional or somewhat true. Others are about a feeling or emotion I am feeling at the time and can be hidden beneath metaphors.’
Liam is proud that Medevil have a high level of quality control when it comes to their music. ‘In total we probably scrapped eight songs in favour of the ones included on the album. Our early sound, from 2011-2014, was mostly a rock-esque type of metal. ‘In The Distance’, ‘The Angel of Rain’ and ‘A Sacrifice’ are all from the early days of the band. When we included Brett and Gary in the band in 2014, we started leaning towards a much faster and more progressive style.’
A similar level of thought went into the track listing. ‘The track listing was a long task, it was most decided based on what we thought was the best listening experience for our fans and for how we like to set up our live shows with some changes. Fans can expect new material in the coming years and regular tours once or twice a year.’
Liam rates the bands live show highly. ‘People can expect a refined sound from us as well as a powerful energy, and a good connection between the band members. Fans can tell we are a band of friends!’
Liam reveals that the letter ‘M’ is very significant in Medevil’s top five influences, which are ‘Metalica, Megadeth, Mastodon, Metal Church, and Iron Maiden!’
And now we can add Medevil to that proud list of bands beginning with M who all released powerful a debut album.

Green Jellÿ (pronounced “green jello”) started more than 30 years ago and has had over 400 band member changes, plus has sold over 2 million records to keep fans still knocking heads!
The band has had hundreds of members during its lifetime, with Bill Manspeaker the only consistent member throughout. The lineup during their most popular album release, ‘Cereal Killer’ is typically referenced as it contained several musicians who went on to appear in other major 1990s bands, such as Danny Carey and Maynard James Keenan of Tool. Green Jellÿ is best known for ‘The Three Little Pigs’, a #1 selling single on Billboard with a Grammy nominated music video.
Formed in 1981 in Kenmore, NY, by founding member Bill Manspeaker, the band was originally named Green Jellö, but changed the name due to legal pressure from the owners of the Jell-O trademark, Kraft Foods, who claimed that it was an infringement of their trademark. Throughout the early 80’s, Green Jellÿ performed throughout New York, opening for bands like the Ramones and New York Dolls. Their reputation for over-the-top live performances and food-hurling audiences got them banned from most local venues. A full bio can be found here.

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.
Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released four full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014)—and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic) their most recent offering, the crowd-funded ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance‘ includes the beard anthem ‘Obey the Beard’ and popular ‘Dogs Like Socks’, ‘Quack Kills’, ‘So. Heavy.’, ‘Blue Screen’, and a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action super hero, ‘Bruce Campbell’. Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

0 Dutch Metal Maniac – Sludgehammer – The Fallen Sun
a great record for the people who want to try something new, that are bored by listening to the same bands over and over. This is your chance on a unique blend of death metal and rock and roll.
