VVON DOGMA I Shares Drum Playthrough Video For “The Void”
New Album “The Kvlt of Glitch” Out Now!

VVON DOGMA I is known mainly for its wow factor as an avante-garde progressive metal band with a 9-string bassist helmed by frontman and band founder Chaoth (ex-Unexpect). But today, the band presents its complex, challenging, and at times even unsettling music with a playthrough by drummer Kevin Alexander and his skill to weave each drum hit to the thrilling ride of the track “The Void” that is from the band’s latest album “The Kvlt of Glitch” released this past May.
Watch the drum playthrough via its premiere on TechnicalMusicReview HERE.

Drawing influences from Radiohead, Meshuggah, and Deftones, Vvon Dogmai I has carved out a unique sound that blends complex rhythms and haunting melodies. Ringleader and bassist Chaoth (ex-Unexpect) quotes that the band’s sound is him paying tribute to the wide assortments of influences that he’s had in his life from 90’s alternative and nu-metal to modern electronic and ambient music and everything in between. He continues to explain:
“It’s very freeing in a way to be the main songwriter because you don’t really have to fight for your ideas, whatever goes so, it’s a glimpse of my psyche. Lyrically it’s very much fueled by dark feelings that have been following me my whole life. Very personal yet vague as f*ck. This whole project, these songs, this sound, it’s been living in my head and computer alone for too long but now I’m just happy and proud to finally bring this project to life.”
Currently, Chaoth does most of the writing before drummer Kevin Alexander and Yoan modifies the structure and adds attitude with the drums and guitars and then it goes to the studio where Blaise Borboën adds like a million layers, very synth-heavy. Hours of trial and error lead to the final polished result. Like sculpting, they just play with it until it looks like something.
Vvon Dogma I is an experimental and challenging display of musical prowess and creativity. They are recommended for fans of Deftones, Sleep Token, Meshuggah, Igorrr, and Unprocessed.
“The Kvlt of Glitch” was released on May 5, 2023.

“His most recent playthrough video, Day of the Dead, combines all manner of picking, slapping and tapping, combining an expansive compositional approach with his virtuosic technique.” – Bass Player Magazine
“The invigorating glitched out bliss they have on display here is as dense as it is rewarding, with nothing falling out of place, yet with everything shifting all the time. If “The Void” is any indication of what’s to come, I seriously cannot wait to hear the rest of The Kvlt of Glitch, when it lands on May 5th independently.” – Everything Is Noise
“Vvon Dogma I are an act I praised many, many moons ago and I’m stoked to do so again. The band lead by ex-uneXpect bassist Frédérick Filiatrault is mixing electronics, progressive metal, vocoder, grooves and more. This one is for prog nerds and bass geeks alike. Also, there’s a wild cover of Radiohead’s “2 + 2 =5″ and you won’t hear anything like it anywhere else.” – Metal Injection
“Vvon Dogma are back with a new video for their new record, The Kvlt of Glitch, in the form of the track “One Eye.” It features some seriously insane nine-string bass playing… Chaoth, their nine-string bassist, is a big driver behind their experimental sound and their popularity.” – Metal Sucks
“The album promises to push boundaries with its unconventional approach to music.” – Metal Insider
“The path has been challenging for this new Canadian juggernaut, but now awakened in their futuristic glory Vvon Dogma I has positioned themselves to emerge victorious in a way past efforts did not. Worship noise, don leather straps and desert goggles, turn down the lights—the Kvlt will consume you.” – Angry Metal Guy
“if you’re in the market for something a bit different and potentially challenging, then check this out. If you’re a fan of bands such as Scale the Summit, Synaptic Glitch, Cynic, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, Sleep Token, Unprocessed, and OU, then put this on your radar.” – Wonderbox Metal
“I am not exaggerating when I say you’re in for something very different. Vvon Dogma I is a project from Montreal, Canada, led by Frederick F a.k.a. ChaotH. He’s playing a 9 string bass, added by drummer Kevin Alexander, guitarist Yoan MP and Blaise Borboën on synthesizers, strings and production. I added Vvon Dogma I as progressive metal in the database, but is so much more than ’just’ that! At times so complex it is almost impossible to count the rhythm. It’s like uptempo industrial metal with progressive twists, added by jazz moves at times… Sometimes the music feels like madness transalted into notes, but still with a thread to follow. I like this, probably because it is so unique.” – Melodic.net
““The Void” opens the album and immediately grabs the listener with that insane bass playing and technical sound. There’s some cool noises and those mesmerizing vocals as well… Chaoth’s bass playing is just unreal, I mean on the same level of Les Claypool. The electronic embellishments that pop up on this album just makes it sound all the more foreign and not of this world. This is currently my top contender for album of the year.” – Transcending The Mundane
“If you have a taste for more of a quirky and off kilter variety of djent-flavored contemporary progressive metal, this album is probably one that merits a check.” – Progressor

“I started this project to explore the weird, off-kilter progressive metal sound I’ve been developing. I’ve always had a love for instrumental, guitar-driven metal, but my main focus is on pushing prog and heavy music to its current limits.
I hope people dig my new album “Bad Brain”. The album is inspired, musically and lyrically, by problems in the brain. It’s very groovy and catchy, but also dissonant and jarring. I think it merges the two in an organic, enjoyable way.
I always write with the album in mind, and in order, so the best way to experience Bad Brain is to listen from start to finish. I want people to be surprised by some of the creative risks the album takes, and I hope people feel the need to listen again to try to understand it better, or simply because they liked it.” – Sam Mooradian

BAND STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS:
1. All the songs on Bad Brain are inspired by some kind of mental illness or problem in the brain. In order, they are:
Bad Brain (4:39) – ANXIETY
Suspicious Gait (feat. Flub) – (5:30) – MIND SURVEILLANCE / TECH ADDICTION
Titrate Down (feat. Blumen) – (5:57) – DEPRESSION
Real Anger – (2:19) – ANGER
Tinnitus (feat. The World Is Quiet Here) – (4:31) – TINNITUS / RINGING IN THE EARS
Assassin Mad (feat. Archaeologist) – (13:20) – PSYCHOPATHY
Find Someone Else – (1:15) – ISOLATION
Spies Are Listening – (2:59) – SCHIZOPHRENIA / PARANOIA
Come And Get Me – (4:26) – DENIAL
2. I have synesthesia, so I see specific colors associated with letters and numbers. I wrote Bad Brain according to a specific color scheme set up by the song titles and by the transcriptions of the music.
3. The album has a 13-minute epic called Assassin Mad, which features Kyle Schaefer of Archaeologist and Fallujah on vocals throughout. I wrote the instrumental years before I met and toured with Kyle, but his vocals took it from a fun instrumental to what feels like a much more finished, complete, and deadly track. I can’t wait for people to hear that one.
4. There’s an entire B-side record to Bad Brain called Worse Brain; the B-side explores an even darker, more sinister side to mental illness and will be released in the months after Bad Brain.
5. I also tour and play guitar in the death metal band Fallujah; some parts you’ll hear on this record were either recorded on the road or inspired by events on tour. Touring life, the people I’ve toured with, and life, in general, have helped shape the album majorly.

Sam Mooradian is a progressive metal guitarist, composer, and creator based in Boston. Since starting his guitar-centric YouTube channel a decade ago, Sam has become the touring guitarist for Fallujah, guitarist of Inhale Existence, and the brains and fingers behind his self-titled solo project, with his debut album ‘Bad Brain’ releasing on July 28, 2023.
“Bad Brain feels like a musical companion to emotionally difficult times. It’s the result of years of trying to hone my own sound and style of prog metal while also navigating significant life changes and events, so it’s very fulfilling to have it finally released.”
“I’ve always been driven to push all the elements of songwriting and structure to the absolute limit while keeping the music catchy and enjoyable; I think Bad Brain does that pretty well. Lots of crazy time signature and tempo changes. Lots of untraditional arrangements. It’s dark, it’s melancholic, and it takes some interesting twists and turns. Hopefully, it’ll break your brain a little.” – Sam Mooradian

Canada’s new power thrash metal gods Triskelyon returns to deliver the stainless steel goods again on their highly anticipated second album “Artificial Insanity” (mixed and mastered by Michael Small (Winterhearth, Triskelyon, Artach)). Founded in 2021 by guitarist Geoff Waye, of the popular true metal band Category VI, Triskelyon released one self-titled EP and was promptly signed to Moribund Records for their radio chart-topping debut album “Downfall” (2022).
On Triskelyon’s second outing, band leader Geoff Waye has once more recruited the crème de le crème of the Canadian metal scene. Enlisting the vocal talents of guests Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Cara McCutchen (Mortillery, Naitaka), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Des Mason, Ellim, Pete Healey, Raúl Álvarez (Dark Order-Aus.) and Tim Tymo (Tymo) culminate in a varied album, which delivers both pure thrash metal classics, hints of blackened melodic thrash, and enough power metal to bring one back to the 1980s.
Drum Duties are shared between Raul Marques (Burning Torment) and Alexander Raykov (Antreib), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), and Darrin Pope are conscripted on bass.
With “Artificial Insanity”, Triskelyon returns with a varied yet blistering thrash/power metal classic, bringing back the 1980’s glory days, while maintaining a fresh and modern sound. To close the album Triskelyon surprises all with an incredible female-fronted power metal rendition of the hit song “It Doesn’t Really Matter” by Canadian rockers Platinum Blonde.
Today, the band is giving a taste of what’s to hit the mosh pit with their first single “Visionaries”.

“This was one of my anticipated albums this year as the EP wet my whistle but was far from being enough to satisfy my metal hunger. Hopefully this is not a one off because this is one of the most unique projects to come across my radar in a long time. I’m curious to see where Mr. Waye takes this project next. We shall see. In the meantime…get this album, you’ll thank me for it!” – Metal-Rules
“The highlight of the opening trio is the rampaging “Odyssey (Blessed By Steel)” which finds Marlee Ryley of Hyperia in fine form. Waye is on the rampage with a collection of frenetic riffs and the result is an adrenaline rush of a song that really gets things going. “A Time of War” then finds Triskelyon in Megadeth territory minus the trademark snarl of Dave Mustaine for what can only be described as a classic Thrash anthem… All in all, there is plenty to enjoy here, especially if you’re a lover of the mighty riff ” – Metal Noise
“Thrash Metal with melody, good arrangements and multiple voices.” – PowerMetal.de
“Power-Thrash equipped with murderous riffs on a technically first-class level with changeable exciting vocal variability, at times also surrounded by a dark atmosphere.” – FFM-Rock
“Most of the songs on here are fast and furious, such as “Balance of Terror” with its Hanneman/King-esque riffing, the skull-piercing “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)” and the powerful “A Time of War,” though they do slow down a bit on the moody march of “Find a Way” while still remaining heavy as all hell… Triskelyon don’t reinvent the wheel of Power/Thrash, but they sure know how to keep it spinning, and that makes Downfall worth giving a spin of its own.” – The Metal Crypt

0 Rockshots Records – INFERNALIZER New Album “After Dark” Coming October 2023 + New Music Video “What Did You Expect?”
NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – July 21, 2023
Rockshots Records – INFERNALIZER New Album “After Dark” Coming October 2023
New Music Video “What Did You Expect?”
|
|
Infernalizer is the brand new creature conceived and brought to life by the creative mind of Claudio Ravinale to portray his own take on the heavy metal genre. Ravinale is best known as the vocalist of Italian death metal veterans Disarmonia Mundi, who has achieved worldwide recognition with their high-octane melo-death throughout two decades and featuring Bjorn “Speed” Strid (Soilwork) among their ranks, along with being in other recognizable bands such as The Silverblack, 5 Star Grave and The Stranded.
Heavily influenced by 80’s metal acts such as Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and Danzig, Ravinale‘s new project Infernalizer relies on the use of gloomy keys and eerie samples, paying homage to more somber gothic rock acts like Type O Negative and The Sisters Of Mercy. Vocally closer to contemporary acts like Rob Zombie and Wednesday 13, the range of influences also includes evocative cinematographic soundscapes that provide Infernalizer‘s songs with a more solemn and nocturnal atmosphere.
Ready to follow up the 2021 debut album “The Ugly Truth”, Infernalizer presents the new full-length “After Dark” set to be unleashed in October 2023 via Rockshots Records.
Constantly balancing between aggressive moments and gothic atmospheres properly supported by deep crooning vocals and more irate outbursts. This new record is deeply rooted in 80’s metal and often prone to arena rock choruses, sets an eerie and nocturnal mood especially when it comes to the use of keyboards, often reminiscent of classic horror movie themes.
The desire to go towards more gothic rock territories on this new offering is fully represented by tracks like “Death Wish”, “This Is My Yard” or “Falling In Slow Motion”, while the planned-to-be-released singles “What Did You Expect?” and “What We Do In The Shadows” (both mastered at Sterling Sound Studio in Nashville by legendary Grammy-winning mastering engineer Ted Jensen) are open-heart love letters to 80’s hard rock. There’s no shortage of bangers as well with songs like “The Dark Passenger”, “Moon of Blood” or the title track providing the more muscular edge of the album.
Infernalizer frontman Claudio Ravinale comments:
“People that loved the previous album are gonna dig this new one because we basically took our time to refine the formula, focus properly on how we wanted the record to sound, and had a starting point to evolve from. Usually with the first album you simply take a leap in the dark and see how it goes, with the second one you already have a layer of bricks to build on and that’s exactly what we did. This is pure and simple entertainment. I’m not here to preach, I’m not here to make the world a better place, I simply want people to have a good time listening to this music, nothing else.”
Today, Infernalizer present their first single off the album, entitled “What Did You Expect?”, the track is gothic metal meets Alice Cooper.
“As soon as we finished it we decided it was going to be the first single. It’s an overall very balanced and catchy track with a great chorus. It’s an overall very balanced and catchy track with a great chorus. The backbone of the song is very 80s metal-oriented, while the vocals switch from crooning gothic verses (pretty much in the vibe of Type O Negative and The 69 Eyes) to more energetic harsh yet melodic vibes in the bridge and chorus, reminiscent of bands like Wednesday 13 and Lordi. The guitar solo is once again inspired by 80s hard rock. Lyrics-vise the track is a tongue-in-cheek reflection filled with black humor on toxic relationships. SIMILAR BANDS: Alice Cooper, Lordi, The 69 Eyes, Wednesday 13.” adds Ravinale.

Rockshots Records – “The Devil Is By My Side” In The Next Music Video Quest From DRAGONHEART
New Album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” Out Aug 2023

|
Brazilian fantasy power metallers DRAGONHEART will release their fifth studio album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” this coming August 2023 via Rockshots Records.
Revealing their first single “Dragonheart’s Tale” this past June, the band has their next track to unveil in the lead-up to the new album’s release.
Accompanied by a music video “The Devil Is By My Side” is about the character “The Blacksmith” who is known from previous Dragonheart album stories and is loved by fans.
Vocalist Eduardo Marques explains:
“This track tells how Blacksmith sought a weapons master in a guild, but used forbidden magic to make them. He is banished from the guild and sent into exile. He swears they will one day need him when dark times come. (Blacksmith Music Anvil was used and the solo part now as Riff connecting the two songs and Thiago does a take on the plate as if he was forging a sword). With an 80s feel and influence from Accept this song is perfect to play live. With many quotes from the first song released in 2002 on the second album, The Devil Is By My Side has the potential to be a power/true metal hit”

Dragonheart members are long-time friends that play songs with medieval and fantasy atmospheres. Some members are fans of RPGs, movies, and video games. As well as medieval music, renascence music, sailors songs, Celtic songs, 80s heavy metal, and German power metal. Their new album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is 52 minutes of power metal music of their own fantasy stories divided into 3 acts. The first talks about sea and pirates, the second about blood battles, and the third about magic and fire.
The album features 10 tracks covering many styles of power metal, with acoustic tavern music and an orchestrated track, voiceovers, and, sound effects stitching together the narrative of the fantasy world created by the band. The work is rich in instrumentals and vocal arrangements worthy of a band with 26 years on the road. It also features guest vocals from Henning Basse (Metalium, Fire Wind) on “Ghost of The Storm” and was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Dream Evil, Hammerfall) along with the album cover artwork by Andreas Marschall (Kreator, King Diamond, Blind Guardian).
The album also marks the return of the band’s original vocalist, Eduardo Marques, the band explains:
“On our last album (Battle Sanctuary) we went towards a darker path, and now with “The Dragonheart´s Tale” we wanted to return to our original roots. This is an epic power metal record with medieval influences capable to put our fans to enjoy the fantasy stories. They are songs that old bards used to play telling legends in taverns of the olden days.”
Vocalist Eduardo Marques also adds:
“This new album is my Ph.D. in heavy metal. It was 19 years of waiting to return to Dragonheart and put all these musical stories together. It’s the highlight of our 26-year career and we hope we’ve made another power metal classic. We cover all varieties and influences in style. I believe that Dragonheart’s Tale has the capacity to make the fan dream again and live our sagas once more.”
Recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, and Helloween, “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is due out on August 25, 2023, and is available for pre-order at https://bit.ly/DragonheartCD

About: The band Dragonheart started its activities on July 10, 1997, in Curitiba, in the south of Brazil. The original line-up had the brothers Marco Caporasso (guitar and vocals), Marcelo Caporasso (drums), Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals), and Mauricio Taborda (bass and vocals). Soon the band was signed by a label and released their first album, Underdark. The album had excellent acceptance by the public and press.
With a good reception, they released their second album, “Throne of the Alliance”, the first part of a trilogy, and started to appear in 2002 as one of the main Brazilian power metal bands. The album has been mixed and mastered in Finnvox Studio in Finland and the cover art was by Andreas Marschall. And it was elected as one of the best live bands, album, and song of the year by the public and specialized vehicles in Brazil alongside Sepultura and Angra. In April, Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals) left the band for personal reasons. At the beginning of September 2002, the entry of André Mendes (guitar and vocals) was announced.
In February 2005, the album Vengeance in Black was released, the second chapter of the trilogy, produced by the band and mixed and mastered by renowned producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids). The art was again in charge of the German artist Andreas Marschall. The album also left its mark on all the major media of the style and features the participation of German vocalist Olaf Senkbeil. And it yielded a tour in Brazil with the German band Grave Digger and 2 shows with the band Hammerfall and played with Nightwish, U.D.O, Epica, and many other great names of Worldwide Metal.
In 2010, drummer Marcelo Caporasso leaves the band. Then Thiago Mussi is cast on drums.
In 2015, the band ends the trilogy with its fifth album called: The Sanctuary Battle, produced by guitarist André Mendes, mixed and mastered at the Avant-Garde studio by the great Maiko Thome de Araujo. The cover was designed by Dusan Markovic. Pitch Black Records made a worldwide release with great repercussions in Brazil and abroad.
In 2019, the band invited one of the founders of Dragonheart, vocalist, and guitarist Eduardo Marques, to return to the lineup. After almost 20 years, he accepted the invitation and the challenge of composing an album that resumed the identity of the first two works.
Marco Caporasso (Vocals and Guitars), Eduardo Marques (Vocals and Guitars / Lead Guitars) e Thiago Mussi (Drums).
Finally, in 2022, the result of this journey comes true and the album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is recorded and planned to be released on Rockshots Records in August 2023.

Calgary, Canada’s Red Cain have been nominated by the YYC Music Awards for “Metal Recording of The Year” for their single “Fisher King”, which is featured on the band’s latest their latest third full-length “NÄE’BLISS” released this past June.
The band is nominated alongside their metal peers Osyron, Syryn, Balrogath, and Carlos Cruz Project.
The award category is presented by Loud As Hell Festival.
Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny comments:
“It’s a great honour to be once again nominated for the prestigious YYC Metal Recording of the Year award. One of our key values as a band has always been to recognize the contribution of our home scene to our success, and to celebrate the massive presence of local talent in Calgary, our home city.
The YYC Music Awards team and the other nominees share these values, and it’s lovely to see local artists celebrating each other in this decentralized era.
The nominated track, “Fisher King”, is very important to us. It remains in many ways THE original Red Cain composition, written in its first form 12 years ago and evolving now to one of our most popular songs. It is also a track that takes us back to our musical roots after 3 albums, and what better way to achieve this than recognition and support from local fans and industry professionals?
Huge congratulations to the other nominees and a big heavy metal thank you to the YYC Music Awards team, Loud As Hell Metal Festival – and all Calgary music fans for supporting this award.”

Red Cain’s new album “NÄE’BLISS” is a homage to the legendary world of American author Robert Jordan’s fantasy epic “The Wheel of Time” (novel/TV series). With a grimdark edge, down-tuned guitars, death and power prog metal influences, and an unrelenting march forward, “NÄE’BLISS” is a foray into the reverse side of the Wheel of Time story – that of the Forsaken, antagonists, instruments of the Great Lord of the Dark, and the brutal and captivating allure of letting Chaos reign supreme.
The band comments on the release of “NAË’BLISS”:
“A labour of love and technique, this record is much more stripped down, aggressive, and heavier than our previous releases – while retaining the unique Red Cain sound. With virtuoso guitarist Samuel Ridout and backup vocalist Kalie Yan joining the band, we cracked the gates into tech-death and prog, using bands like Tesseract and Meshuggah as inspiration – and veering heavily into death metal with vocals and arrangements. The result, combined with our conceptual homage to the fantasy series Wheel of Time, brings us back to our musical roots and delivers the most honest and intense Red Cain album yet. Enjoy!”
“NAË’BLISS” can be heard in full at the following links:
Youtube – https://youtu.be/0NV2RzaJ0VQ
Spotify – https://sptfy.com/Or3m
Bandcamp – https://redcain.bandcamp.com/album/na-ebliss
The band explains in further detail about choosing the Wheel of Time concept:
“We are all massive fantasy fans, and for us, Wheel of Time rubs shoulders with LOTR as a genre-defining epic fantasy series that started it all. The world of the Wheel is a brutal, compelling world with multitudes of fascinating characters, and we were particularly interested in exploring its more visceral aspects – an area that begs to be paired with heavy metal. We’ve seen some of our musical icons, like Blind Guardian, successfully go down this path, and it was magnificent to see new musical interpretations of those stories spun out by them – not to mention some bloody good fun. Now, it is our turn to ride forward in another turn of the Wheel. Enjoy!”
Red Cain is recommended for fans of Kamelot, Symphony X, Myrath, Powerwolf, Mastodon, and The Contortionist.

Red Cain, from Calgary, Canada is a modern progressive metal project with Eastern European roots. They have been making waves since their first release in 2016, with award-winning music videos and concept albums “Kindred: Act I” and “Kindred: Act II”. Red Cain’s first two full albums conceptually told a sprawling story of how raw and primal ancient myth collides with modern society and human yearning toward the stars, toward perfection. The albums contained a ton of genre inspirations, from gothic rock to ambient electronica, power, black, and death metal, and were universally lauded for their inventiveness, variety, and strong conceptual content. They continue this momentum with forthcoming releases.
Red Cain is:

“NAE’ BLISS is a fine example of world-class Metal. With every album they grow in statue and status they can stand shoulder to shoulder with the titans of the genre.” – Metal-Rules
“Red Cain continue their evolutionary path with NÄ̈E’BLISS, taking us all on a fantastic and metallic journey that will surely help them carve their name even deeper into the metal scene worldwide.” – The Headbanging Moose
“they come up with elements of melodeath, symphonic-, prog- and powermetal, melted together by the expressive vocal performance of singer Evgeniy Zayarny, who convinces with his full tone and an impressive range… “Näe’bliss” is well written, varied and dynamic, telling the stories about a common “good” against an “evil” antagonist in a great way.” – The Prog Space
“What a masterpiece! In my last review, I gave my first 10/10 and called it my album of the year. That place has already been overtaken.” – Musipedia of Metal
“Canadians Red Cain took on the mammoth task of turning Robert Jordan’s works of the Wheel of Time series into an album… Needless to say the Power Prog band delivers an ambitious album filled with twists and turns that will keep you on your toes!” – Belgian Jasper
“Red Cain has made by far the best Wheel Of Time-related piece of art that I’ve seen or heard since before November 18, 2021. Sour grapes aside, this is some energetic power metal worthy of the source material.” – Metal Utopia
“Red Cain combine with clean singing and growling vocals on opener “Fisher King.” Much of Nae Bliss has a fresh modern sound (“Blight” and the gothic “The Great Hunt”) and some modern groove (“Sightblinder”)… The modern metal here reminds me of Iced Earth and Nevermore which has some excellent clean vocals. ” – Transcending the Mundane
“this is an album to explore if you tend to enjoy a more theatrical and bombastic variety of progressive metal.” – Progressor
“If you’re into the symphonic side of metal, then this is a must have album.” – Smorg Magazine
“As such Red Cain uses Näe’bliss to showcase the slickest noodling and power grooving of their career… Red Cain hasn’t yet made an album for the ages in this modern expression of classic prog/power exuberance, but each record thus far has swung for the fences and landed in good graces—stop sitting around and spin some Red Cain!” – Angry Metal Guy
“you’ll still feel the mighty pull of Power Metal all over the record. But the progressive parts now start to encroach on soundscapes bands like Haken or Caligula’s Horse3) usually usurp. And that leaves us with an uncannily savvy power prog mix with an unholy urge for unusual extreme metal undercurrents on full display. And that led – yet again – to overheated turntables over at the RMR office tower. Red Cain are back and in full swing yet again, feisty as ever. And as well they should be. So, where’s that bookshop? Robert Jordan’s fantasy lore’s beckoning us.” – Rock Music Raider
“With Näe’bliss, Red Cain has created their own progressive metal epic fantasy that is fuelled with blast beats, howling guitars, wailing vocals, and rumbling bass. The intricate lyrics tell their own tales and have captured the essence of the adversaries and nemesis of the story. Perhaps for me, storyline aside, is the wonderful vocal dynamic between Evgeniy Zayarny and Kalie Yan and how they play off each other in a beautiful tit for tat of clean versus harsh and singing versus operatic as if they were the protagonist and antagonist. Let the chaos reign supreme, crank Näe’bliss to 11.” – Amplify The Noise
““Fisher King,” is a monstrous opening, a song that tempts the deliverance and brings the power of brilliance and chaos of the whirlwind…. “Fires of Heaven,” is bombastic, powerful, enchanting and downright haunting. A song that smashes through everything.” – The Median Man

Vancouver’s Hardball is ready to take you on a grunge journey of dirty riffs and speedy shredding with their debut self-titled album, which is now streaming in full before its official release on July 21st via its premiere on New Noise Magazine HERE.
The ten tracks deliver a heavier, punkier version of modern grunge with huge-sounding drums, and over-the-top heavy, layered guitars. Lyrically, vocalist/guitarist Scott Budgie says it helps him to think of the most distressed or agitated he’s ever felt in his life and channels those feelings of utter frustration, and confusion into his writing. There’s often some absurdity in there too as he thinks laughing at things that are too terrible to face is a coping mechanism for a lot of people. Artistically, the album covers a lot of different, but related themes. In Budgie’s mind, it’s a concept album, but it’s admittedly the most incoherent concept album of all time. It’s a deep dive into his own psyche, unturning all the different stones that maybe should have been left alone, all the while worrying about being too self-indulgent in the process. He goes on to comment on the release:
“We are really excited to finally get this album in people’s hands. There have been terrible periods of development hell and sessions of re-tracking the same parts over and over trying to get the vibe just right. It’s been a long, and at times aggravating process to get it to where we’re truly happy with it. We’re all perfectionists, especially Jeremy, who acted like the in-band producer throughout most of the process. I feel as though we created something innovative and contemporary while still honouring our heroes from the ‘90s alternative rock and ‘80s punk scenes. We’re having our cake and eating it too.”
Hardball is comprised of former Poles frontman and Vancouver local Scott Budgie, as well as Okanagan residents, drummer Jeremy Head also of The Motion Picture, and bassist Jamie Black. The album is a joint production between recording engineer Matt Roach of Rain City Recorders in Vancouver, BC (Baptists, Misery Signals, Comeback Kid) and mix engineer Felix Fung of Little Red Sounds in New Westminster, BC (Needles//Pins, Girlfriends and Boyfriends, Mode Moderne). Every Song was mixed by Felix Fung at Little Red Sounds, except for track 9. I/O, which was mixed by Jeff Black at Black Note Productions.
The self-titled album will be available July 21st, 2023 on all major streaming platforms via Distrokid, as a digital download through Bandcamp, and directly from the band on 12” LP, and compact disc. It is recommended for fans of Hüsker Dü, Flipper, and The Melvins.

“Punishingly heavy and powerful, the band members go absolutely musically berserk on this one, throwing everything they’ve got against the wall, with the song’s intensity matching the weight of its message. Gun control is an issue we hear about in the news virtually every day. HARDBALL have stepped up to the plate here with a representation of the anger many of us feel about these societal challenges.” – V13
“Vancouver’s Hardball are sharing their self-titled full-length, which will take you through the grunge journey of dirty riffs and speedy shredding.” – New Noise Magzine
“if you do like Nirvana – then you might have a new CD to purchase!… the opener ”Just A Tree” in true grunge mode. If you on the other hand take ”Me And you” we’re in for more of a party hard rocker with a slight punk vibe. Still some grunge in it, maybe mainly for the lead vocal of Scott Budgie who sounds very much like Kurt Cobain at times. This band is furthermore more interesting to listen to, musically, compared to Nirvana. Hear the hard-working guitar playing in ”Worried As Shit” for example. Same in the quite grungy ”Talk To Me” with good variation between intense and softer parts, plus nice riffing guitars. All in all, yes: quite grunge oriented but still more than that. Well worth checking out if you’re into this type of music.” – Meloidc.net
“HARDBALL is a trio from Vancouver that tries to revive this period through realistic, harsh songs and a thick and hard sound. Their first album is without doubt the most beautiful tribute to the nineties scene that we have been able to listen to for a very long time” – Metal News Fr
“HARDBALL brings to their music, a claw, a rather distressed and tortured atmosphere. And then around the compositions, something struck me: the emotion. It is palpable all the way, feels right away, because it feels like Scott is literally living this music. Any grunge or nostalgic fan of this era should have an ear, because this album is inspired.” – Olivier No Limit

This time, the quartet from Caracas becomes the first extreme metal band in the country to be nominated for the Pepsi Music Awards in its eleventh edition, specifically in the categories of “Best Rock Artist” and “Best Rock Album” for Osculum Pacis, a record production that was listed among the best releases of 2022 in more than 20 countries, whose promotional tour will be extended to South America between August and September with performances in Argentina, Chile and Peru.

“These two nominations for the Pepsi Awards represent for us a very significant step in the history of extreme metal in Venezuela, it’s a recognition of effort, perseverance, and dedication. We feel deeply grateful for this nomination, which motivates us to continue working and building the metal scene, until Venezuelan metal has its own category, giving it the level it deserves”, said Franklin Berroterán.

“The track (Left) begins with grim, quiet strumming and then is ignited with a glowing melody pronounced by the electric piano. Gothic vocals follow, tortured with the thought, “We are alone!” As the song develops, it asks of us, “Is today one day more or one day less in your dreams?” Osculum Pacis is a mighty struggle between light and darkness, that fans of Paradise Lost and Type O Negative should take a fond liking to.” – Doomed and Stoned
“the fathers of Venezuelan death/doom” – Femforgacs
“For me this material is the best of the Latin scene of 2022” (Osculum Pacis) – Metallerium
“Osculum Pacis is a brutally artistic journey with Stratuz, it loudly demonstrates their abilities and vision, which they stayed true to throughout all the changes and dynamic shifts that we’ve been through on this sonic trip. I loved how packed is it with pure emotions of anger, melancholy, and growing brutality.” – ROCK ERA MAGAZINE
“Fans of doom metal, death metal – even black metal, can find something to appreciate with “Osculum Pacis”. For metalheads who like their metal dark and more mature with its themes, this is a great release to sink your teeth into.” – Team Brutal
It is an album, a record that can captivate anyone who loves music, both for its lyrical content and for its musical enrichment within rock in different trends and trends, along with orchestral arrangements that surround you. Without a doubt, a musical production for export.” – Cresta Metalica

NEWS RELEASE
Montreal, QC – July 19, 2023
Canadian Death Metallers AUGURIUM Release Pummeling New Single “Phantom Parallax”
New Album “Unearthly Will” Out August 2023
|
|
L-R – Taylor MacDonald – Drums, Logan Barlow – Lead Guitar, Yianni Pantelopoulos – Vocals, Cejay Carnochan – Rhythm Guitar, Reid Paraszczynec – Bass
“Phantom Parallax” is the second single off “Unearthly Will” coming from Canadian death metal act, Augurium. The second track on the album is a very rhythm-based song that calls back to the intro chord numerous times and boasts the heaviest breakdown on the album. It is straight-up metal filth that will satiate most open-minded metal fans. Lyrically, it could be considered to be meditations on the possible connection between the living and the dead, and possession. The band shares their thoughts on it:
“Phantom Parallax” was one of the earlier songs written for the album and one of the final ones to be completed. We reworked it numerous times both musically and lyrically but ultimately decided that it needs to have some shrieking vocal lines and get downright nasty at the end. This is one of our stronger pieces and are beyond stoked to bring it to the masses.”
Augurium builds on expressions of old and new references within the world of heavy metal. “Unearthly Will” will be their third album and they continue to challenge genre boundaries and concoct an original sound. It is a fresh take on what Canadian death metal has to offer. With slamming riffs in a variety of time signatures and genre-blending aspects, over a finely executed percussion and rhythm section, it will be a very surprising yet welcome evolution, with an all-new line-up, and 2 years of hard work, created with great care and intention.
Augurium has tour dates planned for the fall to support this new album and they promise a brutally good time for those who attend one of their gigs. Each of them has been playing music live since high school, so we are entering this chapter with lots of experience, and plan to deliver a polished, dark, expressive, and rewarding performance for each city they visit.
Atmospheric, orchestral, bloodthirsty destruction awaits, “Phantom Parallax” is recommended for fans of Septicflesh, Belphegor, and Decrepit Birth.
