MetalInsider Premiere MOONLIGHT DESIRES’ Summer Cover Video ‘Patio Lanterns’ (Kim Mitchell)

Kim Mitchell’s timeless summer classic ‘Patio Lanterns’ is getting a fresh new revival thanks to fellow Canadians MOONLIGHT DESIRES. The band has been reworking classic 80s tunes since 2014, turning familiar, contemporary songs into heavy rock anthems.
“We are going for a Canadian summer kind of vibe. We also have a couple of very summery live shows planned to go with the song.”
Teaming up with MetalInsider.net, the band is premiering their cover video of fun summer times of ‘Patio Lanterns’ at the following link here.

Coming from the mind of ‘Sons of Butcher’ creator Trevor Ziebarth, MOONLIGHT DESIRES is the only cover band you’ll ever need. Stripping the synth-ridden 80’s classics and transforming them into rock and roll singalongs is the name of the game for them and they do it oh so well.
Fun, punchy and of course with lyrics everyone knows, MOONLIGHT DESIRES are the band your summer needs. You can catch them at the following events:
July 27: WTFest w/ The Sheepdogs, USS, The Beaches and more – Brantford, ON @ Lion’s Park

Moonlight Desires might only play 80s cover songs, but you’d be wrong to dismiss them as just another cover band. Formed by long-time Hamilton, Canada musician Trevor Ziebarth (Actor/Writer/Composer on Teletoon’s adult comedy series Sons of Butcher), Moonlight Desires is his ode to the raunchy romances and youthful misadventures of summer’s past. By re-working synth-laden pop hits of the 1980s, Ziebarth manages to turn familiar guilty pleasures into modern, guitar-driven rock anthems.
“I created a television show with my brother Jay Ziebarth back in 2005 called ‘Sons of Butcher’. It was a unique adult comedy cartoon series that aired on Teletoon and was sold to over 200 countries around the world. As a companion to the show, Sons of Butcher recorded and released a few comedy rock albums using songs from the show as inspiration, and travelled across Canada twice on a sponsored tour by Teletoon. As a live band, Sons of Butcher used to perform heavied-up covers of 80s songs and they often became fan/crowd favourites. Ultimately, I noticed the positive response and it led to the formation of Moonlight Desires in 2013.” says Trevor Ziebarth.
While their 2014 debut album “Frankie Goes To Hamilton” delivered a rollicking arrangement of classic love songs, the band’s follow-up “Just The Hits: 1981-1985”transforms timeless hits such as “Sunglasses At Night” by Corey Hart and “Something About You” by Level 42 into party rock anthems. Satisfying that hunger to escape the shackles of reality with fun times and familiar hits, Moonlight Desires entire catalogue is available on all major digital platforms.

“It is glorious, a less tongue in cheek Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. It is the Alpha and the Omega. Life has meaning, and it’s buried in the dreams of a girl with teased hair and a boy with a tennis racket for a guitar…” – Nine Circles
“…Moonlight Desires’ second offering is filled with the top-notch heavy covers of 80s Synth Pop classics their fans have come to expect.” – Bradmachry.ca
