Rockshots Records: DAMAGE S.F.P. Streaming “Ruthless Fate” Off Upcoming Self-Titled Album

Debut Album Out June 14th

Finland’s DAMAGE S.F.P. have unleashed their single “Ruthless Fate” off their upcoming self-titled debut album due out on June 14th via Rockshots Records. The album is an amalgamation of 30 years of music created by the band after first forming in 1989 as three childhood friends.

“The album is like a time-leap straight to ’90s, since all of the tracks were composed between 1991-1994.” states the band.

During the band’s existence, they released three demos in the ’90s: 1992, 1993 and 1996 along with a promo tape in 1994 and continued performing until 1996 before disbanding. Moshing in 2018, DAMAGE S.F.P. was reformed by guitarist Nikkilä and drummer Lipsonen with bassist Remes hearing the call to arms to rejoin his schoolyard headbangers. Solidifying the original line-up,  the trio returns 30 years after first picking up their instruments to destroy audiences and are now ready to unleash what has been a long time coming in their debut self-titled album, which features eleven of their best whip lashing tracks.

The band adds:

“This album is our debut, but at the same time collection of our best songs. It is diverse, bringing in influences from both thrash and death metal, but not forgetting the beautiful melodies of heavy metal. At the far end of the album you can find a short track called ‘Grain Brain’, which is almost grindcore, then on the other end is ‘In Termination’, an epic song with Amorphis and Iron Maiden vibes.”

The first single off the album “Ruthless State” can be heard at the following link: https://youtu.be/qzJZb1ui6Ck

Montreal, QC – April 3, 2019

For fans of Caladan Brood, Blind Guardian, I.Q., Iced Earth, Visigoth

Portland Power Metal TANAGRA Unveil New Single “Sydria” via MetalInsider

New Album “Meridiem” Out April 26th

L-R: Steven Soderberg: Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Christopher Stewart: Drums and Percussion, Tom Socia: Lead and Backing Vocals,
Josh Kay: Lead and Rhythm Guitars, Erich Ulmer: Bass Guitar

Hunkered down across four studios for close to three years, joined by guest musicians on piano, cello, and viola, Portland’s Tanagra has been refining and crafting the seven multi-layered compositions on their upcoming album “Meridiem” to perfection. The release, due out on April 26th, is power metal packed with depth, emotion, harmony, and complexity.

Previously sharing the album’s title track as their first single this past March, TANAGRA is unveiling to fans “Sydria”, the second release off the upcoming full-length. The track is a straight-forward banger with a full-on Hammond organ and some synthwave inspired shimmering. It’s a prog-apocalypse with most of the riffs being written in 5/4 timing to make an epic sing-along tune.

Teaming up with MetalInsider.net, “Sydria” can be heard at https://www.metalinsider.net/new-music/song-premiere-tanagra-sydria

The band comments:

“The second track off ‘Meridiem’, ‘Sydria’ is an energetic four-minute banger with great sing-along potential! If you’ve ever wondered what Euro power metal would sound like in 5/4 with baritone lead vocals, this must be it. Lyrically, this song ties into “The Undying Light” and “Tyranny of Time” from our first album, following our guitarist’s Steven’s story about a race of beings struggling to recall a lost homeworld to which they can never return. This song features both vocalist Tom and guitarist Steven on lead vocals throughout, with our bassist Erich joining in on the choruses! Some simple Hammond organ pads and sparkling synth arpeggios round out the arrangement, reinforcing the song’s energy.”

“Meridiem” will be available on April 26, 2019 through Spotify, CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon.

Album pre-order is available on the band’s Bandcamp.

Track Listing:
1. Meridiem (11:35)
2. Sydria (4:01)
3. Etheric Alchemy (8:49)
4. Silent Chamber (7:52)
5. Hidden Hand (10:14)
6. Across the Ancient Desert (7:39)
7. Witness (14:19)
Album Length: 1:04:31

BIO:

Formed out of the love of science fiction, fantasy, and theatrical heavy metal storytelling, TANAGRA hit the Portland, USA metal scene in 2011 with epic, symphonic, progressive power metal with lyrical content about original fantasy/sci-fi settings, Magic: The Gathering, historical tales, and other nerdy themes.

In 2015, they released their debut album; None of This is Real, an energetic collection of American power metal showcasing their love for complex arrangements and lengthy songs which garnered critical acclaim from a multitude of publications around the world.

In the time following their debut release, the members found a deep love for progressive rock/metal and symphonic black metal, and in writing new material found ways to combine the sounds of bands like IQ, Anekdoten, Caladan Brood, and Borknagar into their existing American power metal framework.

In 2016, TANAGRA entered the studio with the fruits of their labors to begin recording their ambitious second album, titled Meridiem, slated for global release April 26, 2019.

“The album is chock full of catchy riffs, singalong choruses and awe-inspiring shredding… Riffs and vocal hooks flow seamlessly together.” – Metal Bandcamp

“Tanagra is definitely in the right path to become a respected act in the fantasy-themed Power Metal genre” – The Metal Crypt

“…confident vocals which soar like big fucking neon birds.” – Hollywood Metal

“Full of fun and driving riffs, rich melodies, and triumphant vocals…” – Dead Rhetoric

Glasgow’s ATLAS : EMPIRE Posts 2nd Live Session Video In Support of Canadian Tour April 2019 (ON/QC)

“It’s All In The Reflexes” Live Session Premiere via Prog-Sphere

New Album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” Out Now!

L-R – Robert Hasebe (Bassist), Jamie Sturt (Guitar and Vocals), Steven Gillies (Guitar and Vocals)

Glasgow’s ATLAS : EMPIRE is premiering their second live session video “It’s All In The Reflexes” via Prog-Sphere.com in support of their third Canadian tour this coming April (dates listed below). The track is off their debut album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” released this past December.

The video can be viewed at the following link: http://www.prog-sphere.com/specials/atlas-empire-live-session-premiere/

Guitarist and vocalist Steven Gillies comments:

“This is the second song from our recent live session with Papercrane Recordings, who are based in Kent, England. We recorded the session on an off day between shows in December. It’s the first live recording we’ve done in a few years, it was a lot of fun, but also pretty challenging – specifically for Jamie & I as we didn’t have monitors or headphones! “It’s All In The Reflexes” was our last single from the album, the song is about never giving up on what’s important to you, always growing and evolving, despite the obstacles thrown in your way. It’s become a microcosm for Atlas : Empire in general.”

Weaving their way between the multitudes of different genres that influence them, the trio visits the worlds of heavy progressive rock and expansive ambient shoegaze. Crossing the Atlantic to North America, the proggers will be visiting Canada for their third time since their performances in Ontario in 2017, which included showcasing at Indie Week in Toronto.

Bassist Robert Hasebe adds:

“We are unbelievably excited to cross the Atlantic for our third tour of Canada. This is an important tour for us as we will be touring our brand new album ‘The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet’. We worked really hard on this record and are elated to share live versions of these songs with our Canadian fans. Touring here is by far one of the most enjoyable things about Atlas : Empire. The unique challenges and rewards of touring this part of the world are what makes Canadian artists and performers truly great. They are not only so wonderful to work with but also so friendly and exceptional at their craft. Canada produces so many good bands and such talented musicians that we are so fortunate and so grateful to be able to tour here regularly. Also, poutine…”

ATLAS : EMPIRE‘s latest album “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” is available for stream and download on Bandcamp, iTunes, and Spotify.

To date the band has released 3 EPs, “To The Astronaut…” (2012); “Somnus” (2013) and “For the Satellites” (2015) with “The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet” as their 2018 debut full length.

Bassist Robert Hasebe adds:

“‘The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet’ is a concept album that explores what would happen to humanity if we became entirely reliant on technology/automation in every aspect of our lives – and more importantly, what happens when that system fails? Across its 10 tracks, we delve into different aspects of that very-possible future, with each song takes place before, during or after a mass technological collapse, from the perspective of a different ‘character’.”

“A lesson in progressive rock” – Rocksound (UK)

“fiery, soaring, and thought-provoking heavy prog-/post-rock” – Rebel Noise

“Atlas : Empire has produced an album that is glued with beautiful instrumental and chill vibes for a weekend unwind. Overall the album is definitely worth a listen if you are a fan of early Incubus, early Thrice, or Minus the Bear.” – Boston Rock Radio

“The band show an impressive versatility throughout the record as they straddle various genres with ease. Post-hardcore sits neatly alongside the Maybeshewill inspired post-rock…” – abadgeoffriendship.com

“They hit you with a wall of sound, that has a slightly Math feel to it. The tracks have a lot of overlapping phrases, but with darker tones to the guitars, it almost feels like Deftones and Arcane Roots had a lovechild and raised it in ‘Bonnie’. Both vocalists lighten the mood and play upon a subtle gaelic charm in between tracks…There’s just the right level of melody combined with guitar-wrecking aggression for them to stand out in the Glasgow scene.” – threesongsandout.com

“FRACTURES & OUTLINES are very talented band. Their music ability is put out as if it were a parade from album start to album finish.” – Metal Temple

“‘’End Of The World’’ throws me back into my emo-phase right away. I am LOVING it! The music is very dynamic, fast and diverse. I like the clean vocals and the growls together. ‘’Echoes’’ starts with high pitched screams, and that is when I was completely sold. The chorus has an original twist to it, there is somewhat of a breakdown in the drumline when you hear ‘’ECHOES’’” – Lyrical Spell Magazine

“Try and fight your way through this album without stopping; you’ll find yourself “Defenseless.”” – PureGrainAudio

“if you are into the post hardcore scene then this album is for you!… As amazing as the album is, I’d be willing to wager that the live experience would be even better. I hope they manage to make it out to SoCal one day or even Vegas I’d love to attend one of their concerts!” – The Music Below

“Overall, Fractures & Outlines debut album provides a more than enjoyable throwback to old-school metalcore and screamo but with their more varied and melodic sound and optimistic lyrics they do add an energetic breath of fresh air to both subgenres. ” – Belgian Metal Shredder

“ce groupe a le mérite d’avoir une excellente dynamique et d’être une équipe bien liée. Ils sont charismatiques et les gars ont du plaisir sur scène, ce qui pour moi est un incontournable pour offrir un excellent show! Leur album, Defenseless sorti en mai 2019, nous transporte dans divers thèmes tous reliés à nos luttes et nos démons intérieurs. Des thèmes lourds de sens, mais amenés musicalement avec brio.” – Ondes Chocs (Live Review – FarmFest 2019)

“An interesting choice to the lineup, as the other bands were of the deathcore / melodic metal genre. However, what they lacked in genre similarity they made up for in energy. This was highlighted by their cover of Alexisonfire “This Could Be Anywhere in the World“, which I and the crowd were taken aback by. Not only did they do the cover well, but they got the crowd engaged and were eager to mosh and singalong to it.” – Splice Media Group
