“What impressed me most was that Take The Throne aren’t trying to jam a million different ideas into each song, they know what they do best and stick to it.” – Lambgoat

“Not gonna lie…I loved the fuck out of this song (Deserter). Maybe even more than Thrillhouse enjoys sex with barely legal scene girls. Ok… Maybe not THAT much, but it’s still a brilliant song. Not even once did I find myself thinking “I wish they did this” or “why did they do that”, and I’m eagerly awaiting any further submissions these guys want to send our way.” – I Probably Hate Your Band

NEWS: OBSCENE EXTREME AMERICA Line Up Additions: Noisem, Fatal Flaw, The Drip, Homewrecker

The Obscene Extreme America mosh pit just keeps getting bigger and bigger! Check out the following bands that have been added to this year’s festival in Montreal, QC from August 20-23.

Announced this week are:

FATAL FLAW

TRASHING CRUST PUNK FURY COMING YOUR WAY!!! FATAL FLAW!!!

Don’t get fooled by the band name! The only weakness these Montreal crustcore lunatics have is not being able to control the anger & ferocity that goes through their music. Raging crust punk is what you’ll get at OEF America and the only flaw possible is the lack of people in the mosh pit. Don’t make this happen, get your ass in the pit or you will feel the wrath of FATAL FLAW!!!

THE DRIP

RELENTLESS SKULL CRUSHING GRINDCORE!!! THE DRIP!!!

They’re pissed off & ready to unleash the most barbaric grindcore the east-coast have ever witnessed. Washington State’s THE DRIP deliver merciless fast-paced grind in a non stop onslaught of aggression & intensity. Get ready for a presentation of gruesome poetics while this modern grindcore band spread chaos through their blasting & unhealthy tunes.

NOISEM

PURE NECK-MANGLING DEATH/THRASH ON PCP!!! NOISEM!!!

Baltimore’s NOISEM will blast their vicious tunes in such a destructive velocity, it will feel like someone’s shredding your fucking face with a cheesegrater. Formerly known as Necropsy, this young band’s playing abrasive death metal at a lightning speed, destroying everything in its path. Be apart of the bestial birth of NOISEM at OEF!!!

HOMEWRECKER

DEVASTATING & BRUTAL HARDCORE WILL CRUSH OEF AMERICA! HOMEWRECKER!!!

Things are going to get ugly at OEF America as Ohio’s HOMEWRECKER are back in Montreal with their grinding hardcore harmonies. They will show no mercy as they pummel your face with heavy as hell guitar riffs, punishing vocals & blistering fast drums!!!

With the latest line-up change, HOMEWRECKER are inviting you at Obscene Extreme to step in the Circle of Death.

About:

Obscene Extreme Festival comes to Canada! August 20-23, the Obscene Extreme World Tour will be stopping by Montreal, Quebec for a weekend of extreme music madness!

Get your gore grind banana suit ready, put on your gas mask or your most comfortable stage diving costume and get psyched for a wide selection of underground acts. The first Canadian edition of this DIY party will bring the best of grindcore, crust, punk, death, thrash, hardcore, and everything in-between to the stage.

The Obscene Extreme Festival began in the Czech Republic in 1999, and over the past 16 years, more than 700 bands from all over the world have rocked its stage. The Obscene Extreme World Tour was born 2 years ago out of the desire to bring the carnage to extreme music fans worldwide. After Mexico, Indonesia, Australia, and Japan, the festival is bringing the blasting madness of Obscene Extreme to Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Get ready for a 4 day trip of fast, brutal, and destructive musical violence.

5 reasons the Obscene Extreme World Tour is going to blow your mind:

1. Truly underground.
Obscene Extreme is one of the few truly underground festivals to unite big, genre-defining bands, and small, cult bands.

2. Vegan-friendly.
Whatever you do or don’t do, believe or practice, you’re welcome at Obscene Extreme.

3. Fair ticket price.
No massive booking agent or energy drink mega-festival bullshit, Obscene Extreme is affordable for everyone.

4. No shitty rules, no shitty security.
Stage diving, stage invasions and more, all welcome. Obscene Extreme treats you like people and doesn’t stop you having fun.

5. Grindcore carnival.
Wear a gasmask, dress as a goregrind banana, Obscene Extreme is more than a festival – it’s a party!

Puttin’ On The Foil – Shitshow – Free Download

Calgary is home to three of the most important Hillbilly’s you will ever need to know —Puttin’ On The Foil. They plan to make you a part of their singin-a-long, drinkin’, good time trainwreck with their electrifying, kickass punk’n roll music with their latest track‘Fishin Song’ streaming exclusively on National Rock Review at the following here. , which is off their upcoming album ‘Fired Up, Ready To Roll’ due out May 12th.

“It’s blue collar. Everyone can relate to it. Too much workin, not enough fun. It’s all about balance. We all have bills, so we need to work, but we also need to hang out with family and friends and have some time to ourselves….life is short.” comments vocalist / bassist Trayne Rekk.

Since 2011 these small town renegades have been touring the hell out of any weekend that comes their way. In 2014 the band played over 130 shows across Canada. The band’s name is an homage to the film ‘Slapshot’ where the Hanson Brother put foil on their fists to do more damage during fights in the hockey themed movie. Puttin’ On The Foil plans to do the same with their upcoming sophomore release, ‘Fired Up, Ready To Roll’.

Track Listing: Puttin’ On The Foil – Fire Up, Ready To Roll
1. Shitshow (3:08)
2. Comin’ In Hard’ (3:31)
3. Drunk & Naked (3:56)
4. Rowdy (3:46)
5. Fishin’ Song (4:00)
6. Sweet Prairie Vixen (3:20)
7. Giver To The Liver (3:37)
8. Let Me Be (3:48)
9. Raisin’ Hell (3:05)
10. Ode To Drunk (3:44)
Album Length: 36:01

The band is a three piece consisting of Trayne Rekk on Bass/Vocals/Stupidity, TimTim plucking Guitar/Vocals and Jordan Stubbs on Drums. Rarely sober the band’s infectious music invites even the most conservative wall flower to act stupid. One would expect the band to have influences like KISS, SLAYER, and Iron Maiden, but Trayne blames Hank Willams Jr. for much of his blue collar topics.

Puttin’On The Foil’s signature sound starts with Hank Williams, toss in some Ramones, thickened with Motorhead, and a dash of Nashville Pussy gives it that good time feel. Fans can be sure to understand the bands incredibly love of a good time from their music and live shows. Be sure to catch this three man circus on tour as the following dates below.
