LORDS OF THE TRIDENT drummer Master Hercule “Herc” Schlagzeuger has put together a drum playthrough for the band’s track “Reaper’s Hourglass” being premiered on GeardGods.net. The song is off the American power metallers latest and 7th studio album “Shadows From The Past” released this past August.

“Thanks for taking a look my playthrough of Reapers Hourglass! For those of you who are gear-minded (and let’s face it, who ISN’T): My main kit is a Gretsch Renown and cymbals are a mix of Sabian and Zildjian. This is one of the more technical songs off our new album “Shadows From The Past”, but also my favorite to play. The song is SO technical, in fact, that I routinely have to manifest a wall of drum equipment to contain the sonic force!” says Schlagzeuger.

Continuing their epic quest of bringing spectacular and entertaining metal to global fans these power metal warriors unleashed their 7th album “Shadows From The Past” on August 3rd, 2018. The album was supported by a kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st and ended on June 29th. During that month, the band’s fans helped them surpass their goals to raise over $11,000 for the release. The band offered multiple packages and rewards that included merch, lessons from band members, festival tickets, private concerts and a copy of the video game Coffee Crisis that the band has partnered with to feature one of their songs for one of the levels along with band members as NPCs (non-playable characters).

“Zero Hour is a song about a virtual world that has a deadly time limit. When “Zero Hour” is reached, your body and brain disconnect, and you die. Clearly the only way to truly experience this song is INSIDE virtual reality, so we crafted a 360 degree VR video! Use a VR headset to completely immerse yourself in the video, or pull it up on your phone and physically move around to navigate the 3D world. SHORT BIO:

Dire Peril was an idea that goes as far back as Jason Ashcraft’s (guitars, bass) high school years. The band’s name was inspired by a PC game he used to play, called “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodline”, which has stuck with him ever since.

Originally formed in 2009, the band went on to create three EPs: Astronomical Minds, Queen of the Galaxy and Through Time and Space, and proceeded to play a handful of local shows, as well as a few out of town gigs. In 2015, feeling like things just weren’t as they should be, Ashcraft decided to take a step back and take a hard look at where the band was headed.

Inspired by all manner of science fiction, especially classic sci-fi movies, Dire Peril regrouped as a double piece; Ashcraft was joined by singer John Yelland, and together they began working on the debut album titled “The Extraterrestrial Compendium,” set for release on November 9, 2018. Recruiting a live line up enabled them to start playing live shows including an upcoming North American tour with Seven Kingdoms allowing the American sci-fi power metal band to reach its final form and share their dark, aggressive adventure with the masses.

‘The Extraterrestrial Compendium’ bases each one of its 12 songs on classic sci-fi movies including Predator, Total Recall, Starship Troopers, and E.T. and features guests Brittany Slayes (Unleash the Archers) and Arjen Anthony Lucassen (Ayreon).

Recruiting a live line up enabled them to start playing live shows including large North American tours with Sirenia and Unleash the Archers plus most recently supporting Seven Kingdoms this coming November on select USA tour dates. The American sci-fi power metal band is close to reaching its final form and is now ready to share their dark, aggressive adventure with the masses.

“This album is our most ambitious musical work to date, and the first album with our new members Baron Helleshaar and Master Herc. Fans who have been with us for a while will notice that our new songs are a bit more complex, and our songwriting continues to mature. The new songs are definitely still Lords songs, but explore some new musical themes. I believe the new album will be our strongest offering yet, and contain some songs that are sure to be fan favorites going forward.”

“Shadows From The Past” was supported by a kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st and ending on June 29th. During that month, the band’s fans helped them surpass their goals to raise over $11,000 for the release. The band offered multiple packages and rewards that included merch, lessons from band members, festival tickets, private concerts and a copy of the video game Coffee Crisis that the band has partnered with to feature one of their songs for one of the levels along with band members as NPCs (non-playable characters).

Vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein comments on the album:

“This album is our most ambitious musical work to date, and the first album with our new members Baron Helleshaar and Master Herc. Fans who have been with us for a while will notice that our new songs are a bit more complex, and our songwriting continues to mature. The new songs are definitely still Lords songs, but explore some new musical themes. I believe the new album will be our strongest offering yet, and contain some songs that are sure to be fan favorites going forward.”

In celebration of this new beast from their discography, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT will be performing the album live for the first time at this year’s MAD WITH POWER FEST in Madison, WI on August 25th.

Organizing the festival for its second year, LOTT vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein comments:

“Mad With Power Fest is our yearly chance to bring the strongest, bravest, and most WORTHY heavy metal bands from all around the country under the same roof. This year’s lineup will be an absolutely amazing menagerie of power, thrash, and heavy metal, and should not be missed by anyone! And of course, it wouldn’t be Mad With Power Fest without filling the venue to the brim with free-play arcade and pinball games! We’ve got a number of exclusive, hand-made, and indie arcade cabinets coming this year, which means you’ll ONLY be able to play these games at the fest! In addition to the upcoming release of “Shadows From The Past”, LORDS OF THE TRIDENT started a kickstarter campaign that went live on June 1st. The band has now reached their objective of $6,000 plus their 2nd  stage stretch goal, which will now gives those who pledged over $100 or $25 added to any already made pledge to receive a red blood double vinyl copy of the new album along with multi-color “Shadows From The Past” custom guitar picks.

The band are still asking fans to answer the call to help them make their next extra stretch goal, which includes a full color zip up hoodies (design TBA) (for any pledge of over $250 or $50 added to any already made pledge).

With a lengthy history of enchanting fans with outrageous theatrical events with plenty of crowd participation, Lords of the Trident have donned their cloaks and armor to lay the groundwork for their most enthusiastic sojourn yet.

Fang VonWrathenstein shares his excitement:

“This album is our most ambitious musical work to date, and the first album with our new members Baron Helleshaar and Master Herc. Fans who have been with us for a while will notice that our new songs are a bit more complex, and our songwriting continues to mature. The new songs are definitely still Lords songs, but explore some new musical themes. I believe the new album will be our strongest offering yet, and contain some songs that are sure to be fan favorites going forward.”

The band has partnered with the video game Coffee Crisis in which they will be featured in as NPCs (non-playable characters) and will provide a song for one of the levels. The kickstarter goes live June 1 and will run for the period of a month with a financial goal of $6000 USD. In return the band offers supporters a wide variety of band merch, copies of Coffee Crisis, private music lessons with band members, private concerts, and tickets to Mad With Power festival in Madison, Wisconsin. The album will be released digitally and on physical CD on Friday, August 24th along with it being performed for the first time ever the following day at Mad With Power festival on Saturday, August 25th. Fans that support Lords of the Trident through Patreon will have access to exclusive rewards tiers.

Since climbing out of a volcano in 2008, shrouded in metal and ash, Lords of the Trident have gone to battle on many stages across the USA, playing and headlining a plethora of festivals and have an admirable arsenal of recordings in their inventory. The Lords of The Trident have released three full albums: “Death or Sandwich” (2009), “Chains on Fire” (2011), “Frostburn” (2015) , three EPs: “Plan of Attack” (2013), “A Very Lords of the Trident Christmas” (2014), “Re:Quests” (2015), and two live DVDs, along with numerous compilation singles.

Their live shows include medieval costumes, pyrotechnics, confetti cannons, guitars set ablaze, and of course, excellent technical musicianship that challenges the standard for how live music should be experienced. Fang, aka Ty Christian, has a quality to his voice that reminds me so much of Niklas Isfeldt, formerly of Dream Evil. But when he has to, he can get up there and really wail away with all the confidence in the world. Guitarists Asian Metal and Killius Maximus have got the power metal chops down perfectly. A true spectacle to be witnessed, Lords of the Trident is a daring adventure metal quintet that has been delighting their audiences and fans all over the world for ten years. To continue on their epic quest of bringing spectacular and entertaining metal to global fans their current aim is to release their 7th album “Shadows from the Past” later in 2018 with the support of a kickstarter campaign that goes live June 1st. Rewards include merch, video games, lessons from band members, festival tickets, and private concerts.
