About:

Vancouver, BC’s ANARCHEON was formed in 2015 and features vocalist Kaija Kinney, founder of Metalocalypstick Fest, the BC metal fest celebrating women in metal, along with guitarist Clayton Bach, bassist Sylvain Maltais and drummer Steve “Machine” Richardo (ex-Messiah, ex-Green Jellÿ). With a band name playing off the word Anarchy, ANARCHEON is more of a Frankenstein of their various influences. Demonstrating shemonic screams, catchy riffs and energetic heavy bass leads, the band has unleashed a three track demo and single “Super Nova”, which is will be followed by an EP in October 2017 and full length album for 2018.

Vocalist Kaija Kinney comments:

“The EP has many different types of lyrics but to summarize I would say its about coming clean and empowering yourself as a true genuine person with a lot of life struggles with depression. You will also hear the evolution of our sound mostly reflects on the different guitar players we’ve had with a slightly darker twist now with bass heavy Iron Maiden type leads.”

All tracks previously released by ANARCHEON are available for free download via their Soundcloud here.

ANARCHEON has shared the stage with multiple bands from the Western Canadian metal scene and beyond such as Nervosa (Napalm Records), Mortillery (Napalm Records, Scythia, Van Halst, Dead Asylum and more.

Their new single ‘Into Oblivion’ featuring a guitar solo from Pascal Jobin of The Agonist is ready to annihilate your ear drums and salivating fans for more in anticipation for their upcoming album ‘Ages Unsung’ set to be released later this year to follow their 2013 debut album ‘Tides of War’ that was produced by music legend Glen Robinson (Queensryche, Gwar, Annihilator).

To listen to ‘Into Oblivion’ ft. Pascal Jobin of The Agonist, please visit the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tjbhCkxPVY

The band’s kickstarter campaign is an album pre-order for ‘Ages Unsung’ and will aid in costs in completing the release.

For more details and learn about perks being offered by COTG, please visit the following Kickstarter link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chariotsofthegods/chariots-of-the-gods-presents-ages-unsung

COTG comments:

“After all this time of not releasing new music, we are really excited and proud to finally present you some new material from the new lineup. With the coming of this new record, we thought that a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter could not only help us face the financial burden of the project, but also give us a way to engage with our fans and gauge the interest in the project.
Unlike many other crowdfunding platforms, a Kickstarter campaign is “all or nothing”, which mean we don’t get funded unless we reach our goal. Our goal for this campaign is to get 3000$ to help us with the costs of production and promotion.

We hope you’ll enjoy our new material as well as the perks that we’ve prepared for you!”

With a band name intentionally written with enclosed brackets to signify the trappings of modern life for all of us and how people, despite their best attempts to break out of the mold are still affixed to a simple controlled existence and futility.  Montreal five piece [EVERTRAPPED] are delivering relentless brutal melodic death metal in their third studio album ‘Under The Deep’ available now as ofOctober 16th via Hellstorm Recordz to follow 2012’s ‘Anomaly’ and 2010’s debut ‘Tales From The Supermax’.

Vocalist James Brookes comments on the album:

“‘Under The Deep is an exploration of the deepest reaches of human madness. Not clinical madness, but simply the darkest regions of the soul and the blackest part of the human heart from a mind found to be socially functional, but is really way too far gone. And thus it seeks to explore what is underneath the deepest depth, hence no matter how deep you descend there’s always another layer that can be torn away.”

Track by track explained by Evertrapped.

Tracks:

  1. […] intro
  1. Arise From The Ashes: A depiction of someone who has actually reached the bottom, so their rise from there so to speak. Like the king of their own universe broken by all clawing it’s back but fueled by an ever consuming hatred.
  1. Underneath The Deep: A personal look at how a person can only be fucked up by someone else for too long until they break. But this takes you to a point where you now can’t come back.
  1. Palace Of Injustice: A stab at anyone blinded by the indoctrination of any institution and their ultimate demise that likely follows due to their ignorance towards it. However, it does aim more at the disgust of the institutions themselves and not so much the ignorance of the people.
  1. Hypnotized By Hatred: Another personal reflection, but in this case more a person who has been made to believe that all they do is wrong. So it brings up the sense where if you tell someone enough times that they are shit, then eventually they will just believe it. And in this case someone who becomes a very dark god loathing individual because it takes them to a point where they think it’s hysterical.
  1. Blood Of The Fallen: This is set in a horror like context although it not some zombie tribute. It simply laughs at how we place so much importance on the memory of the dead yet never bat an eye at the reality of human suffering which we ourselves cause.
  1. Lethal District: Somewhat of a post apocalyptic view of the surviving factions of humanity that instill themselves as the powers that be, and thus cast out the unclean, unworthy, and so forth. And therefore it sheds light on the madness and revolt of the unwanted.
  1. Burning Through Vengeance: This is a straight up rebel song. A certain arrogant fuck you to a society that rejects you, but you still know that you know better than them. So instead you’ll bide your time and watch them hilariously screw themselves over.
  1. Reaper: As the title suggests, an end of the line type song. In a certain way captures the essence of[EVERTRAPPED] in terms of the inescapable event that is death.
  1. Embrace The End: This also goes more or less as the title suggests. This is another song for the apocalypse but more at the actual hour of the end itself. A look at almost coming to terms with the fact that it was likely the fault of humanity and embracing the acceptance of such evil.

About:

Members of [EVERTRAPPED] bring together their collective experience from the Montreal metal scene to create their heavy brand of death metal. The guitarists Frederick Dupuis (ex-Daggerfalls) and Vincent Benoit hammer out raw guitar while drummer Eric Lemire (ex-Apocalypsys, ex-Ice Castle) pummels the drums. Their versatile frontman James Brookes (ex-Ammonia, ex-One Final Moment, Continuum) easily alternates between strong clear vocals and low bellowing screams giving listeners the illusion of more than one vocalist. John Yates (ex-AraPacis) weaves together each song with his driving bass lines to keep the punishing tracks energy at an all time high.

Lyrics are intentionally slightly abstract to lure fans to draw their own conclusions despite a perceived understanding of the tracks. Themes for the music revolve around personal turmoil and even stringing together the image of a future where the world is on the brink of an apocalypse.

The band’s influences range from Death Metal to Melodic Death primarily, along with some classic thrash and speed metal, which explains their technicality and diversity sonically. Live, the band is a whirlwind of aggression and sonically abrasive, yet sporadically melodic vocally and instrumentally.

“those looking for melodic death metal on the heavier end of the spectrum need apply here. The second that you hear the opening chords of “Arise from the Ashes,” you’ll know exactly what [Evertrapped] is going for… a testament to some solid writing chops, particularly in the very traveled waters that the band is catering to. Those looking to sample a few tracks should check out the melodic leanings of “Lethal District” or ominous riffs of “Reaper.” – Dead Rhetoric

“After getting your socks blown off by the opener you only get a couple of seconds of rest before ‘Underneath the deep’ unleashes its fury at full force.” – Dutch Metal Maniac

“Listening to this one it feels like Lamb of God meets At The Gates or perhaps what I mean is this is what LoG would sound like as a melo-deth band. The musicianship is on par with any that you consider the best…Vocalist James Brookes has amazing pipes bouncing from cleans to death metal growls to slightly black metal screeches (not high pitched or I’d be OUT!)…Do yourself a favor and put this on your “To Buy” list, trust me you want this one!” – They Demons Be Scribblin
“[Evertrapped] excels at their craft with “Under the Deep” offering a full-fledged assault on the senses that is absolutelystone-cold BRUTAL! And between you and me friends such aggression and overt hostility is a welcome sight sound when all you want to do is check out of this crazy world for awhile and decompress!” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

“Tasty riffs and ditto drumming make this a great album to listen to…has everything what a good contemporary metal album should have and Evertrapped can look to the future with their heads held high and this album ‘Under The Deep’ will probably do well.” – Lords of Metal
“De suite on se rend compte d’une chose, c’est que leur musique cartonne.” – Metal France
“There really is A LOT of ‘talent’ within [EVERTRAPPED] “both” musically & behind the scenes appearing on ‘Under The Deep’!” – Metal Inifinity

“These guys are real pros and it shows!” – The Blood Shed

“Evertrapped, and as they lay their claim as one of the front runners of melodic death metal in all of the land” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“Raise your horns to Evertrapped!” – Metal Reviews

“Something Epic!” – Musik Universe

“Once again, hypnotic…” – Ondes Chocs

“Judging by the sample we got, this next album will sound like a ton of bricks!” – Quebec Metal

CHARIOTS OF THE GODS Comment On Departure of Vocalist and Drummer; New Members To Be Added To Line Up!

Touring Eastern Canada aggressively over the years plus their first international tour in Cuba for the ‘Brutal Winter Fest Tour’ in December of 2013 in promotion of their debut album ‘Tides of War’, Ottawa, ON melodic death thrashers Chariots of The Gods  are announcing the departure of vocalist Renaud Jobin and drummer Richard O’Neil plus addressing new members to be added to line up.

In a statement posted on their facebook, COTG comments: (french translation follows)

“As some of your might have heard, Chariots of the Gods recently parted ways with 2 of its members. Both Renaud Jobin and Richard O’Neil will no longer perform their respective vocal and drumming duties for us. There is no denying the great contribution that these two individuals have brought to our development as a group and to our music. We wish them nothing but luck and success in their future endeavours and we will be supporting them all the way through.

That being said, people, cheer up ; this is NOT the end for Chariots of the Gods! We are carrying on throughout these difficult times and rebuilding ourselves to come back stronger. We even have some big announcements coming soon!!

Once again, we thank all our fans and friends out there who are supporting us, in hope that they will continue to do so. We will be coming back with new members and with them we will create new music and a new era for Chariots of the Gods.

Thanks to every past members of Chariots for their great contributions on so many levels.

TO BE CONTINUED!!

———

“‘Tides of War’ offers music that is well done and fueled with the propensity of delivering solid melodic death/thrash.” – Blistering.com

“Fans of modern thrash, who like it furious, biting and yet melodic check Chariots of The Gods.” – Lords of Metal

“There’s a lot on ‘Tides of War’ to pique the interest of either thrash or melodic death metal fans, and the non-stop galloping guitar sound is an impressive display of what the underground can achieve.” – MetalUnderground.com

“It is heavy, brutal and energetic while also incorporating a fair amount of melody to boot!…This is an album that is definitely going to raise the bar in the extreme music scene for the remainder of the year. Pick this one up; you won’t regret it!” – PureGrainAudio.com

“CHARIOTS OF THE GODS are showing plenty of promise to be able to be one of Canada’s next big things out there” – Metal Observer

“An incredibly professional production is at hand: drums are clear; vocals are on the perfect level with the instruments; even the soft and quiet moments are balanced just right so as to create bits of atmosphere against the heaviness. There is a pure love of metal evident in this debut and the production lets all the power, aggression, and passion through to the listener…the band confidently establishes their intention: a charge of solid and unyielding melodeath garnished with impeccable interludes, solos, and leads.” – MetalStorm

“CHARIOTS OF THE GODS, with their first full-length release ”Tides Of War”,is sure to be the new buzz of the underground scene…Overall, the album is an eclectic, vibrant, and colorful release that really keeps listeners head banging all the way and appreciating the good work the band has put in. The production is clearly strong, coming from the hands of Glen Robinsonwho has worked with Metal legends such as ANNIHILATOR and QUEENSRYCHE…The band does its best, and boy is it good, to church out infectious hook after hook, coupled with blistering melodies and kickass solos backed by Jobin’s great vocals. Each band member shines in this album and their dedication and devotion to their music is clear from the start…The entire album is structured in a genius way—these guys are clearly gifted lads.” – Metal-Temple

“Splendid stuff from a young Canadian troupe that would appear to have all the tricks… I love their coruscating mix of Maidenesque harmonies (have a listen to the awesome Blind Assassin and tell me you ain’t impressed)” – MetalAsFuck

“”Tides of War” is an album that rivals classics by acts such as God Forbid, Shadows Fall, and Killswitch Engage in excellence and pays respectful homage to acts like In Flames, Arch Enemy, At The Gates, and Dark Tranquility. For my money, this debut album deserves the status as a melodeath-type of metal classic. 5/5″ – MetalMusicArchives

“The best thing about this band, in my view, is the powerful melodic style they bring to each song. The guitarists are especially strong on several tracks, including “Tides of War,” “Revillusion (1905),” and “Unbound.” I loved the instrumental track “Snow Falls on the White River (1914),” yet another piece of evidence that these guys have a keen sense of melody, at times, one that even approaches beauty. Mathiew St-Amour and Dimitri Gervais play their guitars with grace and precision and sound especially great on their harmonized parts. These guys have a bright future as twin guitar leads and I hope they’ll take advantage of what they can do together. Readers who like their guitars to come in pairs will love this album.” – SeaofTranquility

“COTG entice the listener with infectious hooks, associated melodies and some blistering solos out of the guitar work. If that is not justice enough for you to buy this, then listen to the intensity of Renaud Jobin’s vocals. This is a release that requires you to strap your balls down (if you have them of course!) when the volume is cranked up…They have a fantastic musical ability and a gift of song structure that exhumes listeners emotions that includes anger and conversely serenity and the need to throw the devil horns without too much though will therefore result. ‘Tides of War’ promotes Chariots of the Gods as real contenders in their field of metal, their field of glory and the rewards are presented for everyone on these exceptional fourteen tracks defining a generation of musically gifted individuals who do not rely purely on breakdowns to get their point across, it sounds effortless. Horn’s raised high gents! 4/5″ – Brutalism.com

“Overture is quite sweet sounding and feels like a film score. Nothing compared to the monster that is waiting to be unleashed. Ferocious riffs and classic metal vocals. Drums blasting out the speed and blasts and the guitars giving it a chunky edge whilst maintains some harmony. Hatebreed hardcore edge but throws in the melody. Definitely an innovative sound amongst a sea of similar sounds. Chariots of the Gods definitely seem to offer something that little bit different. Taking the generic metal sound and throwing in delicious guitar solos with a conflicting vocal. Upbeat without being cheesy.” – Culutre Bomb Mag

”I’m honored to be a part of this project” – Glen Robinson (producer)

”It’s pretty good!” – Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters)

”In my opinion, Chariots of the Gods is THE melodic thrash metal revelation in Canada this year” – Musique d’une Nation

”Excellent album full of energy […] I may have a man-crush on Chariots of the Gods”
Ondes Chocs

”I wouldn’t be surprised to see ‘Tides of War’ be a strong beginning this year in the field of melodic death metal.” Dagheisha

”Just pure metal […] it’s a real treat to the ears” – Metal Manic

”My first reaction was ”WOW!” […] If you like death metal, you have to get that CD” – WTFMusic.com

”It’s a masterpiece” – Radiorockdrummond.com

”Mathieu-Phillipe St-Amour is undoubtedly a promosing guitarist” – dagheisha.com

”A band to admire […] amazing collaboration of Heavy Metal and Death Metal […] no less than perfect” – Metal Temple

”An excellent band who knows what they are doing […] Listen to them and you’ll discover something great” – Dave Lemire (Concert promoter)

”Chariots of the Gods […] are doing everything right […] they are talented and powerful enough to show the world Canada rocks hard” – Metal Bite

”I am stoked to discover new talent from Ottawa […] Chariots of the Gods is an erruption waiting to happen”  -The Ottawa Epitaph

“Hands down, CHARIOTS OF THE GODS have worked hard and have improved their songwriting that shines in “Tides Of War” in every aspect. Don’t be fooled by the melodic Death Metal tag and consider the Canadians just another IN FLAMES wannabe because there is more than just catchy riffs and growling vocals. And don’t forget that CHARIOTS OF THE GODS come from Canada that is a most reliable source for high quality Metal. 8/10″ – MetalKaoz.com
