Decimate Metalfest 2025: Uniting Metalheads for an Unforgettable Experience

Decimate Metalfest is thrilled to announce its return to the Millet Agriplex Arena in Millet, Alberta, on June 13th and 14th, 2025, for another electrifying weekend of heavy metal music and community spirit. As one of Western Canada’s premier metal festivals, Decimate Metalfest continues to deliver unforgettable experiences for metal enthusiasts of all kinds!

Reflecting on Decimate Metalfest 2024

The 2024 edition of Decimate Metalfest was a monumental success, featuring an impressive lineup of bands from across Canada and the United States. Attendees were treated to performances spanning various alternative and metal genres, creating an atmosphere of unity and celebration. The festival’s commitment to inclusivity was evident, welcoming fans of all ages and all walks of life to partake in the festivities. Highlights included thrilling air guitar contests with real guitars as prizes, an array of vendors, gaming, delectable offerings from local food, and the convenience of nearby camping facilities. “We are so grateful to the community of Millet for welcoming us with such open arms. The comedy rock never stops for Psychotick as the humorcore masters gear up for their next rage across the US for their ‘The ‘Merica F*ck Yeah Tour’ kicking off in Amityville, NY on May 29th and wrapping up in St. Louis, MO on June 27th. The band will be joined by Dog Fashion Disco and The Bunny The Bear.

Psychostick guitarist Josh “The J” Key comments:

“It’s an honor to be touring with the legendary Dog Fashion Disco. Add The Bunny The Bear to the mix, and it’s going to be a ridiculously fun show, you won’t want to miss this unless your legs have been chopped off. No, I take that back: legs chopped is no excuse… be there! As for me personally, it’s also been a while since we played the West coast… it’s about time we get back to somewhere that knows how to make a decent chimichanga!”

Psychostick is currently working tireless days and nights to complete their follow up release to 2011’s ‘Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D’ after reaching their crowd funding goal of 30,000 to record their forthcoming album and build a new recording studio based in Chicago, IL.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music that Chimaira, Machine Head, and Hatebreed would be proud of, and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.

With three full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title,” “Sandwich,” and their holiday album, “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” – the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

After a successful 2013 that saw these touring ninja warriors hit the road for multiple shows on the ‘Our Tour Can Beat Up Your Tour’, ‘Blow Your Fingers Off’ summer tour, their late summer dates with American Head Charge plus appearances at summer fests that included Rockapalooza, A2 Fest, Breast Fest Biker Bash, and Dirtfest. The band finally took a break in last months of the year and held a successful crowd funding campaign (thank you video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSeQHqMCfJI), where they are now currently in studio recording their follow up to 2011’s ‘Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D’.
