Assembled in 2003 to infiltrate, build and destroy, Gatineau, QC’s INSURRECTION is an aural onslaught assaulting witnesses in both languages of French and English. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has annihilated the masses with four full lengths, their most recent 2017’s “Extraction” unleashed on Galy Records to follow “Prototype” (2013), “Fracture” (2010) and “Prologue” (2009). Emerging as one of the most prominent metal bands to come out of Eastern Canada, the brutal quintet have a new music video “Assassins”, which features live clips from their 2018 festival performance at Montebello RockFest. INSURRECTION has played on Montebello Rockfest eight times since their first performance on the festival in 2009.

Assembled in 2003 to infiltrate, build and destroy, Gatineau, QC’s INSURRECTION is an aural onslaught assaulting witnesses in both languages of French and English. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has emerged to be one of the most prominent Eastern Canadian metal bands.

“We are a hybrid of the best and the worst that the metal underground has to offer, completely familiar, yet hard to pin down, better categorized as the many oddly familiar faces that death metal can take.” says band founder and vocalist Stef Jomphe.

Their 2009 debut release ‘Prologue’ gave true life to their monstrosity, the formation launched their second release 2010′s ‘Fracture’, a dark prophecy of unforgivable times and a brutal soundtrack to the fall of man. It pushed the limits with every outing, creating Insurrection to become more than the sum of its parts, but a merciless abomination.

In 2013, their third album ‘Prototype’ produced by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) was unleashed on Quebec label Galy Records and another well acclaimed brutal assault that converted the unwitting to their legion.

Pushing development to blasphemous levels and quickly spreading their notoriety to areas of Quebec and Ontario. INSURRECTION continues to expand and modulate to corrupt the entire East coast of Canada returning with their new album “Extraction”. Making an impact on the Canadian’s 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED returned this year to cement and carry on their own legacy with their new album “Saviours” featuring all new music to follow their EP “No Peace”, which featured tracks all written in the 80’s and only recently heard by fans in 2016. Featuring eight brand new tracks, “Saviours” is thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight, which is clearly evident in the band’s new music video “All In Favour” being premiered on Bravewords.

“Infrared is extremely excited to release our sophomore album “Saviours”. This has been in the works for about 2 years now and is something we are very proud of. “Saviours” has fulfilled a goal of ours to create some brand new music the way we know how, with an old school 80s thrash feel along with a contemporary sound that encompasses our influences beyond the 80s. 

While not explicitly a concept album, the album is heavily themed on the idea of false “Saviours” who claim to do good for others but are really self serving in their intentions. We like to inspire independent thought and a cautious view of the intentions of those who promote themselves as leaders. This message has been captured with 8 brand new songs that highlight the diversity in which this band makes music. While all songs stay true to our roots, they each offer a piece of what Infrared has to offer our fans. From fast and thrashy to melodic and dramatic, “Saviours” delivers a punch from start to finish.”

Thrash metal never dies! Like some mutated metal monster; a Thrashzilla if you will, it sees off all trends; and comes back stronger than ever.

One of the reasons for this is the love both fans and musicians alike have for this most durable form of metal. Such a band are 80s legends Ottawa’s INFRARED; a band who made a big impact with Canadian fans in the 80s; and have in recent years returned to cement and carry on their own legacy, releasing a newly-recorded album of their classic material “No Peace” in 2016, which will now be followed by their new album “Saviours” due out May 25th, 2018.

An apt name for an album because INFRARED really are Saviours of classic thrash metal!

Describing INFRARED’s sound as “thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight”, guitarist/vocalist Armin Kamal explains that INFRARED’s inspirations run deep.

Assembled in 2003 to infiltrate, build and destroy, Gatineau, QC’s INSURRECTION is an aural onslaught assaulting witnesses in both languages of French and English. Known for blending calculated technicality with a signature mixture of merciless death metal, the band has annihilated the masses with four full lengths, their most recent 2017’s “Extraction” unleashed on Galy Records to follow “Prototype” (2013), “Fracture” (2010) and “Prologue” (2009). Emerging as one of the most prominent metal bands to come out of Eastern Canada, the brutal quintet will be embarking on their first Western Canadian tour this coming June along with festival performances at Decimate MetalFest and Montebello RockFest.

Crushing audiences across the globe with their driving force and energetic stage presence, Melbourne thrashers MASON deliver commanding performances that has taken them on tours across Australia and beyond in Asia, Europe plus Canada where they have shared the stage with the likes of Harlott, Havok, Accept, Revocation, Mutank and Annihilator.

Drawing influence from The Big Four and The Bay Area, MASON encapsulates the 80′s thrash sound mixed with fast tempos and a dominating rhythm section. The quartet unleashed their second full length “Impervious” this past October that features nine glorious thrashing tracks mixed and mastered by Erin Hamidovic (Devin Townsend Project, Sikth, Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Elm Street).

“During the demo process we wrote a lot of material, but the majority made the ‘Impervious’ album minus one or two songs. We spent a lot of time fine tuning the songs and making sure they kicked ass! For this album, we focused mainly on trimming the fat and stepping up the energy and tempos. Fast, focused and heavy! For those wanting to know more about this release. ‘Impervious’ touches on so many topics from suicide, death, terrorism and more events that happen to people around the world. When ya look at the front cover, it is a symbol of character and strength of a boy that goes about his everyday life in the worst conditions and does what is normal to him to get by day to day.
