Italy’s Reality Grey‘s fourth album “Beneath This Crown” was released just this past May via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast and Believe Digital. Offering a sonic assault of extreme melodic metal over the course of thirteen relentless tracks, the record follows 2014’s “Define Redemption” (Bakerteam/Scarlet Records).

On this new record, fans are treated to the band’s “most innovative and modern record we have ever made”. They went beyond everything they have done in the past both musically and lyrically. Reality Grey was able to develop their most experimental side.

“The album has very different feels throughout the track listing; every song is a stand-alone story as we never liked to copy ourselves on and on. The writing process has been heavily influenced by movie soundtracks, especially sci-fi soundtracks,’ something that goes beyond a classic heavy metal song. We wanted to get very personal and original with this album and I think we nailed it!” adds the band.

Continuing to support the album’s release, Reality Grey guitarists Anto Addabbo and Alberto Pinto are sharing their latest shredding playthrough for “Preacher’s of Hatred”, the most brutal song on the record; the fast thrash gives way to a groovy and jazzy pre-chorus.

The playthrough can be viewed via its premiere on TechnicalMusicReview HERE.

The music video “Preachers of Hatred” (which has reached over 100,000 views) can also be seen at https://youtu.be/yexnBZLDVyE

About:
Hailing from South Italy, Reality Grey stands tall in the Italian metal scene. Formed in 2004, Reality Grey began their quest to redefine melodic death metal. As a tight-knit 5 piece band, Reality Grey incorporates a modern hybrid of extreme music: melody, brutality; blending complex, yet catchy songwriting. Fearsome death growls & clean vocals give way to razor-sharp guitar riffs and fusion-oriented solos, Reality Grey set out to create something all their own.

With the release of the debut full-length album “Darkest Days Are Yet To Come” in 2006, in the heat of the melodic death metal revolution, Reality Grey managed to secure their first record deal with Razar Ice Records USA. Songs like “Reality Grey” and “Never again” racked up hundreds of thousands plays on the old MySpace allowing the band to tour, gaining popularity well beyond the Italian borders. Following up with EP “Day Zero”, Reality Grey began to push their own boundaries. Ferocious, yet melodic, with a no-holds-barred songwriting attitude. Songs like “Day Zero” and “Slavery” emerged the band’s experimental side, synths, melancholic pianos, and acoustic guitars; perfectly fused with intoxicating sonic aggression.

After years of non-stop touring alongside bands like Deicide, Unearth, Municipal Waste, Sadist, Malevolent Creation, and more, the critically acclaimed “Define Redemption” is released by Bakerteam/Scarlet Records; sending the band on their first headline tour in Japan. Reality Grey, now having been featured on worldwide publications Metal Injection, Metal Hammer UK, Metal Temple, and Metal.de, released 2018’s “The Void”. Reviewed as “a complete and total aural devastation…” that “will blow your speaker out” by Metal Injection.

Reality Grey has completed work on their upcoming full-length due out May 7th 2021 (Blood Blast Distribution powered by Nuclear Blast). Looking ahead with tours and festival appearances on their sights, Reality Grey will continue to push ambitiously, earning their place among the pantheon of heavy music.

Now, having inked a worldwide deal with Extreme Management Group (EMG), the band says “We’re thrilled to announce that we have started working with Extreme Management Group! Definitely the right place for us. Big news is coming very soon. Stay tuned!” EMG said, “We are excited to be working with Reality Grey. They have some really fantastic music. We expect big things to come from this partnership.”.

– 30 –

“Melodic, aggressive and catchy, this track adds (Multidimensional Hollow) well placed synths and ambiance to an already well rounded sound, making it complex without being overcomplicated. The new album shows a marked evolution in the band’s sound, something that will intrigue current fans and entice new ones.” – Metal Injection

“Beneath this Crown, a creative step forward in their combination of NWOAHM from the early aughts, At the Gates-inspired metalcore and Scandinavian-flavoured melodic death metal.” – Decibel Magazine

“There’s a steadfastness to Reality Grey that’s vital to the music they make. While many bands have tried, floundered, and failed at the art of metalcore and melodeath, the Italian five-piece embrace the genre with full-throated fury. At the same time, they never sound beholden to the genre, incorporating electronic sounds and rhythms to their music that illustrate their willingness to change and incorporate new influences for the betterment of their sound. In a sometimes uncertain world, this band know what they’re about.” – We Are The Pit

“Reality Grey should be able to easily ensnare modern metal and melodeath fans with a release like this one.” – Dead Rhetoric

“If there is something like a constant in REALITY GREY’s approach to Metal then it is their drive to vary their sound and their progression towards new styles and vibes in their music. As a result, the new album “Beneath This Crown” is probably best described as a mix of melodic Metalcore, melodic Death Metal with a portion of progressive elements. The album has a fast and aggressive start with “Fade In Fear” and “Preachers Of Hatred”… REALITY GREY deliver an upgrade to previous albums and their eagerness to experiment with their sound is clearly to recognize on the album. This gives their music an own character and makes them distinctive from other Metal bands. The album is very well produced. “Beneath This Crown” will make all fans of REALITY GREY happy and I am sure that the music of the new album will help to win a lot of new fans.” – 8/10 Metal Temple

“The desire to go wild in a pit somewhere while singing your heart out is just as strong on Kings of Nothing and Preachers of Hatred. Undeniably brutal, a guitar solo thrown in the former and the drumming reaching inhuman levels of speed on the latter, these tracks are awesome.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

Release day is very near for Italy’s Reality Grey‘s fourth album “Beneath This Crown” out this Friday, May 7th. Fans are in for a treat, as the band is confident in what they call “the most innovative and modern record we have ever made”. They go on to explain the album further:

“With “Beneath This Crown” we wanted to go beyond everything we have done in the past both musically and lyrically. We were able to develop our most experimental side. The album has very different feels throughout the track listing; every song is a stand-alone story as we never liked to copy ourselves on and on. The writing process has been heavily influenced by movie soundtracks, especially sci-fi soundtracks,’ something that goes beyond a classic heavy metal song. We wanted to get very personal and original with this album and I think we nailed it!”

To go with this release is the final single, “Preachers of Hatred” presented with a music video. This is the most brutal song on the album; the fast thrash gives way to a groovy and jazzy pre-chorus. Insane drumming leads into a very heavy finale. The premise of the track is about current social and political situations. It touches on the social tragedy we’re living in today, with the richest and most powerful people on earth exerting control over everyone else’s life. Divide and conquer, then get richer and richer.

The video for “Preachers of Hatred” can be viewed and heard along with an interview via its premiere on WeAreThePit.com HERE.

Time was taken with this new full-length offering, Reality Grey had the time to experiment, and the result is aggressive, technical, and catchy. It is consistently progressive and new layers of the band’s creativity are unleashed.

Recommended for fans of As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, and Lamb of God, “Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

Reality Grey has been making their rounds through the Italian metal scene since 2004, spending many years touring Europe and playing alongside bands such as Deicide and Municipal Waste along with three well-received full-lengths under their belts. This coming May 7th, they will be adding a new album “Beneath This Crown” to their legacy.

Until they can hit the stage again, Reality Grey hopes that “Beneath This Crown” will tide over fans with its aggressive, melodic vocals and razor-sharp guitar solos. According to them, the creative process for this release has been very meticulous and nothing has been left to chance. On this offering, the music has affected the lyrics; there is a lot of anger and a bit of sadness.

Over these last few months, in lead up to the album’s release, they have unveiled a few singles; one of those is the very melodic and complex“Multidimensional Hollow”, which features fast guitar solos and an epic finale.

Today, the band has teamed up with GearGods to showcase the shred on “Multidimensional Hollow” with a new guitar playthrough by Anto Addabbo, which can be viewed HERE.

Guitarist Anto Addabbo describes his thoughts on the track:

“When I wrote this song I was listening to a lot of sci-fi soundtracks from movies and I think it influenced how the track came together at the end, it has different feels throughout its length. Lyrically the song is about the struggle to succeed in life. Things don’t always go like you hope they will and not everyone knows how to cope with failure.”

Born in 1979, Anto Addabbo is a guitar player, songwriter, arranger, producer, and performer led into the music scene by pure passion and commitment.

Known as a vanguard of the Italian metal scene for his passionate and technical guitar technique, blending his love for the aggression of metal with the melodic phrasing of rock/fusion, Anto Addabbo is the founder of modern metal powerhouse Reality Grey, being now an endorsed artist for popular brands like Jackson Guitars, EMG Pickups, and MooerAudio.

From their debut in 2006, Reality Grey has enjoyed success as a ‘Modern Extreme Metal’ band, an assessment they both appreciate and challenge as they quest to define and pioneer their own signature sound in the metal scene.

Release after release, Reality Grey has proven to be a tight five-piece able to break the melodic death metal dogmas, producing a challenging and inviting hybrid of modern metal in its pure form: melody, brutal and complex.

Recommended for fans of As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, and Lamb of God, “Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

Italy’s Reality Grey Shares Their “Powerblast” Drum Playthrough

Video Premiere via SickDrummer Magazine

New Album “Beneath This Crown” Out May 7, 2021

Reality Grey has been making their rounds through the Italian metal scene since 2004, having spent years touring and playing alongside bands such as Deicide and Municipal Waste plus three well-received full-lengths under their belts. This year, they will be adding a new album “Beneath This Crown” to their legacy.

Earlier this April, they dropped their latest single “Powerblast” from the forthcoming record, a very groovy song where the guitars and drums create an immense monolithic wall of sound. And speaking of drums, the band is sharing their playthrough video for the track via its premiere on Sick Drummer Magazine HERE.

Drummer Francesco Inchingolo adds:

“It’s one of my favourite songs to play out of the new album, it is very challenging with the double bass with all those triplets, and implements several different techniques, I need to be very focused when I play it. The drumset I used has a very dynamic sound and the double pedal is very light and easy to use, which is vital to play this song properly.”

Completely aggressive and refreshingly catchy, Reality Grey is recommended for fans of Scar Symmetry, Lamb of God, and Unearth.

“Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 8, 2021

For fans of Soilwork, As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, Lamb of God, Unearth

Italy’s Reality Grey Present A Harmonious “Powerblast” Of Modern Extreme Metal

Video Premiere via Decibel Magazine

New Album “Beneath This Crown” Out May 7, 2021

Reality Grey has been making their rounds through the Italian metal scene since 2004, has spent years touring and playing alongside bands such as Deicide and Municipal Waste, and has three well-received full-lengths under their belts. This year, they will be adding a new album “Beneath This Crown” to their legacy.

The second single from the forthcoming record is “Powerblast”, a very groovy song where the guitars and drums create an immense monolithic wall of sound. The last third of the track is overtaken with brutal, evil riffs. Reality Grey explains the track further in their own words:

“Powerblast has the feel right in its name. It’s a powerful song that doesn’t take any prisoners. We feel very attached to it as it has everything we like in a metal track, aggression, and groove. There’s an “evil” theme that creeps underneath the whole song that contributes to the overall heaviness of it. We can’t wait to play it live, people will bang their head until their necks fall off!”

Until they can hit the stage again, Reality Grey hopes that “Beneath This Crown” will tide over fans with its aggressive, melodic vocals and razor-sharp guitar solos. According to them, the creative process for this release has been very meticulous and nothing has been left to chance. On this offering, the music has affected the lyrics, there is a lot of anger and a bit of sadness.

Completely aggressive and refreshingly catchy, Reality Grey is recommended for fans of Scar Symmetry, Lamb of God, and Unearth.

The single “Powerblast” can be heard via its premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

“Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

“Reality Grey give off a viciousness and expertise hard to find in other bands. The instrumental expertise of each component is absolute, slighting touching tech-death side of acts like The Faceless but remaining ‘catchy’ in their complexity” – Metal Hammer

“It’s complete and total aural devastation with some seriously chunky moments, so it lives right up to what you’d expect a song called “The Void” to do.” – Metal Injection

“Reality Grey will serve the world of metal excellently both as an all round, no nonsense, metal act and as a brigde band for younger fans of heavy music” – Metalunderground.at

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 18, 2021

For fans of Soilwork, As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, Lamb of God, Unearth

Reality Grey To Release Pure Melodic Anger With New Album “Beneath This Crown”

“Beneath This Crown” Out May 7, 2021

L-R – Francesco Inchingolo (Drums), Alex Giustino (Bass), Tommaso Montenegro (Vocals), Anto Addabbo (Guitars/Clean Vocals), Alberto Pinto (Guitars)

Italy’s Reality Grey has a new album“Beneath This Crown” in the works, with an anticipated release date of May 7, 2021, through Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast.

Reality Grey has three official music videos out for tracks off of “Beneath This Crown”, “Daybreakers” (2018), “The Void” (2018), and “The Fury” (2019). These videos are the first glimpse into the current phase of Reality Grey. The album shows a marked evolution in the band’s sound, something that will intrigue current fans and entice new ones. Reality Grey is excited to show off comments on the album:

“The recording process for Beneath This Crown” was totally different than with other records. We had the chance to do the pre-production at Divergent Studios, we had as much time as we needed to arrange the album, so we could do more experimentation with our music, with clean vocals, synths, kind of some spacey/soundtrack-like feel, something we wanted to do since 2006, but we didn’t have money/time for that.”

Each one of the 13 tracks is a stand-alone track with a unique vibe, texture, and meaning but the overall result is a consistent, progressive feel.

According to Reality Grey, this is their most innovative and modern record yet, with just the right amount of emotion and technical finesse. “Beneath This Crown” is recommended for fans of As I Lay Dying, Scar Symmetry, and Lamb of God.

“Beneath This Crown” will be out via Blood Blast Distribution, powered by Nuclear Blast as of May 7, 2021.

Canada’s Every Hour Kills will “Re:Awaken” the world with their new EP out on Friday, October 9th. Each song on the record tells the story of an individual existing in this fragmented future; their struggle to exist amidst the chaos of forces of the elite race and the constant encroaching tide of technology.

Before the EP officially drops, the band have teamed up with MetalInjection for its full stream HERE.

The band adds:

“Every Hour Kills was built to challenge the idea of what defines a “band”. Rather, the group sees itself as a constantly evolving musical collective; guest vocalists and soloists across the songs bring their own unique artistry and elevate the collective impact of Every Hour Kills’ brand. With every release we are trying to push ourselves technically, in the writing, and thematically. The listening experience is meant to smash together progressive metal with a cinematic film score. There are literally hundreds of tracks of synth and orchestration going on underneath the metal-band foundation; so, each listen should uncover a new tidbit of ear candy and layers, especially with headphones or good speakers!”

“Re:Awaken” is a concept album with a rich and colourful story that plays into the lore of Every Hour Kills. It sends the listener into the 22nd century, where humanity is deteriorating and the only help seems to come from a race of aliens, the Illusions. Their proposition was simple: in exchange for children who had not yet been consumed by the plague, they would give us medicine to heal the sick.

As an internet-only project, Every Hour Kills leverages this sole focus in bringing in a wide variety of guest artists that include Shaley Bourget of (Dayshell, ex-Of Mice & Men), Morgan Reid (Bloodshot Dawn), Chris Thoresen (Shark Infested Daughters), Travis Montgomery (Threat Signal, Meytal), and Rick Graham. The EP also comes with a visual storybook from Splice Comics that supplement the themes of the band.

Geared towards fans of sci-fi, djent, and progressive metal, especially those with Scar Symmetry, Starset, and Bring Me the Horizon in their rotation, “Re:Awaken” comes out on October 9, 2020. EP Pre-Save HERE (Spotify, Bandcamp, Apple Music).

Canada’s Every Hour Kills have the third single off the upcoming EP “Re:Awaken” ready for ears. The second of four tracks on the album is spacey, heavy with a complex barrage of sounds making it truly euphonic.

The single “Anthelion” features a guest guitar solo from Travis Montgomery of Threat Signal, Meytal, and Kill The Lights and is an angry tale of a man having his autonomy and rights taken away by the elite race and the loss of privacy in the new technological age. The band explains the listening experience in their own words:

“It is meant to smash together progressive metal with a cinematic film score. There are literally hundreds of tracks of synth and orchestration going on underneath the metal band foundation; so, each listen should uncover new tidbit of ear candy and layers, especially with headphones or good speakers!”

As an internet-only project, Every Hour Kills leverages this sole focus in bringing in a wide variety of guest artists from around the world and collaborates with artists of all kinds. This EP comes with a visual storybook from Splice Comics that supplement the themes of the band.

Geared towards fans of sci-fi, djent, and progressive metal, especially those with Scar Symmetry, Starset, and Bring Me the Horizon in their rotation “Re:Awaken” comes out on October 9, 2020.

The single “Anthelion” can be heard via its premiere on NewFuryMedia HERE.

“The song has an amazing feel to it that is uplifting and empowering at the same time and it makes you feel like could run a marathon and finish first place. “ – Headbanger Review

Every Hour Kills from Calgary, Canada is examining extraterrestrial threats and pondering the consequences of making dire and desperate decisions. Complete with a masterfully illustrated storybook from Splice Comics, this upcoming EP “Re:Awaken” is a work of art in many ways.

The second single off the EP is a Joe Satriani cover, “Time”, featuring a guest guitar solo from Rick Graham. It’s an instrumental dénouement to take the listener on a journey through the infinite. It is a heavier re-imagining of the classic, with enough familiarity to entice Satriani’s fans and a lick of creativity to stand on its own.

“Re:Awaken” is set in the 22nd century, when humankind was crippled by a relentless plague with no known cure. An ancient race of interstellar beings, the Illusorians, descended from the skies and offered a means to end the suffering of humanity. Each track follows the story of a person trying to navigate this cruel and unsettling reality.

Cinematic, progressive juxtaposing angular heaviness with soaring melody, each single is meant to stand alone and come together with the concept of the EP. There is no filler allowed in this project. The songs are all different yet still retain the underlying themes.

“The band plays metal that sounds extremely modern and melodic, coming across as a mix of Scar Symmetry and Fear Factory, with sprinkles of djent for added flair.” – New Noise Magazine

Suitable for fans of modern and progressive metal, and bands such as In Flames, Starset, and Bring me the Horizon, “Re:Awaken” comes out on October 9, 2020.

About:

“Every hour wounds, but the last one kills” – Anonymous

Every Hour Kills is a powerhouse ensemble featuring the core of ex-Divinity / Enditol guitarist Sacha Laskow, bassist Brent Stutsky (ex-Breach of Trust), along with vocalist Jerrod Maxwell-Lyster (ex-Out of Your Mouth).

The new EP titled ‘Re:Awaken’ set for release on October 9, 2020, tells the stories of individuals existing in this fragmented future; their struggle to exist amidst the chaos of forces of the elite race and the constant encroaching tide of technology. An accompanying illustrated short storybook by Splice Comics will delve even deeper into the EHK lore.

Every Hour Kills was built to challenge the idea of what defines a “band”. Rather, the group sees itself as a constantly evolving musical collective; guest vocalists and soloists across the songs bring their own unique artistry and elevate the collective impact of Every Hour Kills’ brand. The lyrics, artwork, visuals, and themes all look toward the future, asking the key postmodern question of how will emerging technology and our humanity progress and co-exist?

Shared Stage with: Godsmack, Apocalyptica, Trivium, Obey the Brave, Into Eternity, Kobra and the Lotus

Endorsed by: Fractal Audio, Bareknuckle Pickups, Toontrack

Nominated YYC Music Award – 2016, 2019 for Metal Recording of The Year
