BIO:

There is something special and magical about the three-piece band (often called a power trio, and there is indeed, special power in three!). You need only think of such bands as Venom, Cream, Whiplash, Taste, Motorhead, Bathory and Celtic Frost for proof. For in a power trio there is a purity of essence, the band’s vision honed to razor-like intensity. TRIGON are inspired by artists as diverse as Volbeat, Crobot, David Wilcox, System of a Down, Nirvana, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Slayer, yet already they have forged their own unique sound.

Bassist and vocalist Emanuel Viau sums up TRIGON’s sound as “Rock and roll ain’t dead. Lemmy would be proud! Fans can expect a lot more out of Trigon. We are just getting started. The dedication to our fans is always there…they are number 1 to us! We are a positive band hoping to reach out to people and give them songs they can relate to. At our live shows, they can expect maximum energy and excitement. We aim to make the people at the back come to the front!’

TRIGON’s debut album ‘Fed Up’ was released on March 24, 2017, and available on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp, and all major online retailers.

“any fan of hard rock or heavy metal would be proud to have this album in his/her collection. The fullness of the sound on the album makes it hard to believe that this is just a three-piece outfit…Trigon seems to have picked out the best parts of bands they like, smashed them together, and crafted songs that just work on every level.” – Yell! Mag

“a vaguely punk rock, slightly angsty and at times beautifully chaotic rock album that will fit into virtually any collection.” – Canadian Beats

“There is a chaotic and personal magic on this album that moves your mind, body and soul from places of safety to places of danger in an instant. I’d liken it to being at a family BBQ just before WW3 breaks out -it’s all fun and games and Armageddon….“Fed Up” is a brilliant Rock album that exquisitely produced and bloody well executed. It’ll fit in with any and all Metal collections. Get yours now!” – 925 Rebellion

“The Great White North is known for snow, Molson beer, and hockey, eh. Now we might have to add another pretty good thing, Trigon.” – National Rock Review

“Need a good song to pump you up for a long day? This classic punk-rock track (We Are One) might even fuel you up better than your morning caffeine boost. You’ll be screaming along with these powerful vocals and air-guitaring these riffs all week long.” – Alt Press

“Legends Never Die gets by on its attitude alone. It’s a short one at just six songs and seventeen minutes, but that’s all The Castor Troys really need to get their point across; very punk rock. “We Are One” is all you can ask for in a punk rock song. With ripping guitars, fast rhythm, catchy group vocal chorus, aggressive lyrics, you can’t ask for anything more. It is very reminiscent of The Offspring or Pennywise, and the alt-punk flavour of the mid nineties. “Watch The City Burn” is more of a classic rocker, maybe with a little southern vibe to it. It had me thinking of Ram Jam’s “Black Betty,” at least at the start. It showcases lead vocalist Aaron Walsh’s storytelling capabilities as he spins a yarn about Hamilton and his seeming irreverence for it.” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“The Legends Never Die EP departs from their debut album and takes their sound to the next level with a tighter chemistry and production. It boasts two full-throttle singles: “Blackout Love” and the follow-up, “We Are One”… Other standout tracks on the EP include “Burn This City Down” and “Wreck of the Bastard”. After a listen, you’re bound to walk away with at least a few songs stuck in your head! ” – LdnReverb

“Writing music that is catchy and instantly memorable, The Castor Troys weave tales in an accessible and uncompromising manner.” – Ignite Music Mag

“Hard rock revival? I fuckin’ hope so! Add another band to the burgeoning list – Ontario’s The Castor Troys. This hard rockin’ quartet infuse their dynamic new EP with strains of punk, country and loads of heavy rock. Adrenaline pumping screaming melodic anthems that only hard rock can deliver.” – Power of Pop

“The artwork for the Legends Never Die EP, that features a leather clad skeleton shifting into high gear in a muscle car, gives you a a fair idea of what to expect from Ontario’s The Castor Troys latest release, and you won’t be disappointed or surprised as this is balls out rock ‘n roll with a punk edge. ” The Punk Site

“They play a kind of anthemic punk rock with hard rock influences thrown in that has as much to do with Rise Against and Ignite as with Monster Truck and Iron Maiden… If you are into hard rockin’ riffs and tons of ooh’s and aah’s, feel free to check out The Castor Troys.” – Punk Rock Theory

“The new release from Canadian rockers The Castor Troys, everything about the EP caught our instincts and wants in a slab of rock ‘n’ roll whilst providing one of the most fiercely enjoyable encounters this year. ” – The Ringmaster Review

“If Legends Never Die is any indication, The Castor Troys are certainly a band to watch out for as they commence to tour across Ontario and potentially beyond in support of an EP that everyone should be listening to. From front to back, Legends Never Die is an exciting thoroughly enjoyable record.” – Canadian Beats

The Castor Troys are a story-telling hard rock band from Hamilton, Ontario. Through lyrics that tell tales of war heroes, bank robbers, and clandestine lovers, this intrepid four-piece peddles true stories and truer fiction. Drawing inspiration from bands like Headstones, Social Distortion, Motörhead, The Offspring, and Iron Maiden, The Castor Troys craft fiery and infectious songs that draw you in and don’t let go.

Taking their band name from a character in a John Woo film, The Castor Troys are a jubilant mix of hard rock, punk, country and southern rock. “Castor Troy was the villain (played by Nicolas Cage) in Face/Off. He was elegant, flamboyant and stylish, instantly likeable, while at the same time single-minded and ruthless in his pursuit of his goals.” expands the band on their choice of name.

Formed in 2013, they released their debut full-length album “Come Hell or High Water” in May of 2015 and their 6 track EP “Legends Never Die” on November 9, 2018. Working with producer Andre Kaden Black and engineer Tal Vaisman (Ascot Royals) has refined the band’s sound and enabled them to capture the fierce energy of their live performance onto record.

Proven by becoming the 97.7 HTZ-FM Rocksearch 2018 Finalists, The Castor Troys are a relentless team of stage veterans. They’ve played many festivals including Canadian Music Week and the Burlington Sound of Music Festival Kick-off concert. NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 24, 2018

Ottawa’s TRIGON Posts New Single “Rock It”

Inspired by artists as diverse as Volbeat, Crobot, David Wilcox, System of A Down, Nirvana, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Slayer, yet forging their own unique sound, Ottawa, ON’s TRIGON have a new single to share with fans to follow last year’s debut album “Fed Up”. The new single entitled “Rock It” is hooky rock n’ roll to kick off 2018. The track was mixed and mastered by Glen Robinson (Gwar, Voivod).

The band comments:

“When we first began, we were a cover band and we always loved to take old songs and twist them up making them more into a rock version. We tried doing that with ‘I’m So Excited’ by The Pointer Sisters but turned out to be a challenge. After playing around with it over a couple of jam sessions, it really didn’t get us ‘Excited’, but it did inspire us to write a new song ‘Rock It’. So Gus our amazing guitarist came up with this crazy riff like he always does and then everything came into play. Oh yeah!”

Listen to “Rock It” at the following link:

TRIGON is currently working on their next sophomore album due out in 2018. Their debut album “Fed Up” is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp and all major online retailers.

Bassist and vocalist Emanuel Viau explains the origin of TRIGON’s unique name. ‘We wanted something catchy that would be easy to remember. It had to represent the number 3 because we are a three-piece band. So to us, Trigon means 3 in 1 like a triangle and that explains our logo; the Trigon beast with 6 eyes.’

Bassist and vocalist Emanuel Viau sums up TRIGON’s sound as “Rock and roll ain’t dead. Lemmy would be proud!”

He says that their upcoming album ‘Fed UP’ is about ‘living in the millennium, obstacles, day-to-day challenges, high and low points of life, religion, the corrupt world we live in, and being brainwashed by our leaders.’

Emanuel says the album will grow on fans with its ‘crafty riffs, good lyrics and good beats. We wanted to make them feel like they are the ones who wrote the songs!’

Emanuel sums up TRIGON’s intentions. ‘Fans can expect a lot more out of Trigon. We are just getting started. The dedication to our fans is always there…they are number 1 to us! We are a positive band hoping to reach out to people and give them songs they can relate to. At our live shows they can expect maximum energy and excitement. Teaming up with New Noise Magazine, TRIGON are premiering their frightening single ‘Nightmare’ in tribute to the haunting talents of Freddy Kreuger.

“One night while we were having practice, Gus the guitarist came up with this crazy riff that actually sounded like a nightmare. If you were alive in the 80s, there was this one crazy movie that was terrifying everyone… that’s right Nightmare on Elm Street. So Trigon dedicated this song to the legend Freddy Krueger and his debauchery on Elm Street. Listen carefully as we perform a short bio about Frederick Charles Krueger!  Sweet dreams!” says vocalist / bassist Emanuel Viau.
