NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 13, 2022

Survive The Onslaught of DEFORMATORY’s New EP “Harbinger” Unleashed In Full As A Music Video

Ottawa, Canada’s Deformatory are pleased to announce their new EP “Harbinger”, which was meticulously produced by Topon Das of F*ck The Facts at his studio Apartment 2 Recording and is now being presented in its entirety in one special music video. A barrage of deadly riffs, pummeling drums and unholy gutturals will rip through you in true death metal fashion. The band explains in their own words:

“Every song, every riff, and every beat writhes through its own iterations to devour the listener beyond this EP’s 15-minute runtime. Make no mistake: these are 15-minutes you will never get back and you will never recover from. The sheer energy your soul requires to withstand this offering of musical violence will render your very core into a depleted version of itself.”

The video encapsulates exactly what Deformatory brings to the stage – no frills. No bullshit. Just straight-up death metal. The goal is to leave people wondering what the hell just happened. A maniacal frenzy.

The EP’s music video can be seen and heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

From their destructive 2013 debut “In The Wake of Pestilence”, on through their crushing 2016 follow-up “Malediction” and into the vortex of insanity from their 2021 masterpiece “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, Deformatory unrelentingly summon their creative darkness to deliver another slab of ferocious Canadian death metal.

To visually encapsulate the extreme onslaught on “Harbinger”, the artwork was masterfully created by the one and only Paolo Girardi. He has, without any doubt, unveiled one of his best paintings to date for this EP’s cover. Additional haunting artistic creations were devilishly assembled by UK’s Adrian Baxter to further highlight the darkness that binds the death metal brutality of Deformatory’s new EP.

Without acquiescing to the weakness of modern metal, they reach deep into the abyss of infernal intensity to deliver a new offering of blistering madness for those who enjoy heavy, unforgiving bludgeoning sounds similar to Vitriol, old Cryptopsy, and Origin.

This is unequivocal vitriolic rage. This is uncompromising animosity.

This is not trendy. This is not a safe place.

This is a maelstrom of maniacal death metal.

This is DEFORMATORY.

You have been warned.

Heed the Harbinger’s call.

“Harbinger” is available as of September 13, 2022.

“A maniacal riff-fest colliding with pulverizing drumming and grotesquely executed vocals, Impaled Upon The Carrionspire is a memorable journey into a modern death metal portal of chaos. This is beyond a brutal wall of sound; it’s an experience that hooks you in, and guides you through everything you can expect to hear on the new album.” – Metal Injection

“Taking cues from the tech-est and brutal-est of brutal technical death metal, the duo from Canada’s capital have offered up a shining gut punch that sings, screams, wallops, growls and races in the same vein as genre masterclass mainstays as Immolation, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal and Origin. Plus, their name fucking rules!” – Decibel Magazine

“Brutally punchy and laced with annihilating streaks of black metal, cosmic machinations are put into bone-snapping focus through the band’s unrelenting technical death metal.” – Invisible Oranges

“Let’s cut to the chase: Imagine filling a syringe with unadulterated adrenaline, sticking it straight into your carotid artery, and jamming the plunger down with as much force as you can muster. That’s the effect of listening to DEFORMATORY… The whole thing is breathtaking in its careening and cavorting violence.” – No Clean Singing

EATEN BY SHARKS Warn Of Unethical Consumption In Guitar Playthrough For “Kill and Consume”

Eaten by Sharks has been lurking in the dark for the past couple of years while the world was locked down, waiting patiently to unleash their second album “Eradication” upon unsuspecting listeners. That time has come, they have recently released the album and are following it up with a guitar playthrough video for the track “Kill and Consume”. This is a first-hand look at the song which washes over the listener boasting a slammy, black metal feels, a slick Revocation type jazzy middle eight, and a simple message – don’t eat shark soup less you become cursed for poor choices. They explain what they are like in the flesh:

“It’s tight as nails and loud as fuck. We are very lucky to have Justin as the backbone of the band, he hits so fucking hard we have to crank our amps to 11. We spend a lot of time working on our songs at rehearsal so you get a good clear punch in the face. If we can’t hear the riffs when the sound hits the air in rehearsal, it’s time to tweak structure or tone until it makes sense.”

The band says that they can’t wait for their fans to hear the album and this playthrough video adds to the experience that is Eaten By Sharks. The production on “Eradication” blows their last release “We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Boat” (2013) out of the water and it clearly shows they have poured blood, sweat, and tears into this offering. This is partially due to tight musicianship, and dedication as well as Christian Donaldson’s expertise in capturing a mammoth sound that will keep the listeners coming back for more.

Eaten By Sharks lean into their nautical hell narrative, and set out to rattle your existence like a mega-tsunami. They are recommended listening for fans of Despised Icon, Fit For An Autopsy, and Cattle Decapitation.

The guitar playthrough video for “Kill and Consume” can be seen and heard via NoCleanSinging HERE.

“If you’re new to the group, they’re from Ontario, and like the majority of Canadian tech-death bands, they’re damn good at what they do. Don’t let the goofy band name and oddball cover art fool you, this is not amateur hour stuff… As for what the song has to offer, “Depth Charge” is built on continual flipping back and forth between heavy groove terrain and frenetic riffs aided by ripping leads. In doing so, the song feels almost wave-like in its structure, an ever-changing stream of back and forth battling going on underwater. From the time I’ve spent listening to the full release, this is definitely an album many of you will enjoy.” – Metal Injection

“Eaten By Sharks bring aquatic brutality to Technical Death Metal… Eradication should be of great interest to fans of bands like Fit For An Autopsy, Cattle Decapitation, and Revocation and will be available as a CD or digital download. So take my advice, stay out of the water, go grab a copy and let the feeding frenzy begin upon some other unsuspecting victims.” – Metal Talk

“These guys are all business, and put together a pretty compelling, often crushing effort ” – Metal Rules

“Eradication is an absolute blast and one that hits just as hard as you want it to, and is just as serious as you want an album from a band called Eaten By Sharks to be. I wholeheartedly recommend this beast and hope that you have fun listening to it. I did.” – Noob Heavy

“I just discovered Eaten by Sharks, and the band is a good surprise. Their mix of several styles focused on raw violence and devastating technicality makes Eradication an explosive and extremely effective album.” Acta Infernalis

“Eradication is a cracking slab of death metal, excellently written and performed to a high level.” The Razor’s Edge

“Combining new and old Death Metal influences, Eaten By Sharks have proven themselves to be a cut above the competition at the top of the food chain ” – Metal Noise

Streaming Now! BURIED REALM Melo-Death S/T Album Ft. Guests From Finntroll, Obscura, Dark Tranquillity, Serious Black and more!

Self-Titled Album Out June 3, 2022

Hailing from Colorado Springs, USA, Buried Realm is the solo project of Josh Dummer who has enlisted the talent of musicians from around the world to contribute to three distinguished, melodic death metal albums. The third one is a self-titled release featuring names such as Heikki Saari (Finntroll, Whorion), Bob Katsionis (Outloud, Serious Black, ex-Firewind), Christian Münzner (Obscura), Dean Arnold (Primalfrost), Christopher Amott (Dark Tranquillity), Christofer Malmström (Darkane), and Dan Swanö. Dummer explains the album and his hopes for it:

“I think the overall atmosphere of this album is more energetic and aggressive compared to the previous ones. The general lyrical theme is a paranormal and psychological twist… mind tricks if you will. I am very pleased to present and share this album with everyone. I’m honored to be joined by some killer musicians who’ve influenced my writing and playing over the years. Their contributions have truly helped bring the album to the next level. Go give it a spin!”

Melodic, and memorable, Dummer cites that after writing the first few songs for the album it began to take shape and the rest of the tracks fell into place. His themes revolve around personal experiences and often there’s more play on metaphors rather than being literal which creates more room for interpretation and paints a more interesting picture for him.

With a running time of almost 40 minutes, Dummer takes the listener on a journey full of heavy riffs, soaring solos, passionate lyrics, and pummeling drums across nine tracks that have been influenced and complemented by the guests present on each. Dummer produced the album, and it was mixed and mastered by Ronnie Björnström. The album art was done by Pär Olofsson.

Anyone who has enjoyed the previous albums, or are fans of melodic death metal including Scar Symmetry, Children of Bodom, and Nevermore will be interested in what Buried Realm has created.

Today, before it officially drops on June 3rd, Buried Realm has teamed up with NoCleanSinging for its full stream premiere HERE.

About:
A true visionary is a rare thing, but such a man is Josh Dummer exemplified in his solo studio project Buried Realm. Influenced by personal experience and executed through metaphors, the progressive and heavy metal leaves room for interpretation and paints an interesting picture for listeners.

Inspired by Opeth, Kreator, Old Man’s Child, Symphony X (and tons of old Hair Metal!), Dummer is a man who is not afraid to gaze into the abyss for music and lyrical inspiration. He describes Buried Realm’s music as ‘fierce, cutting, technical, melodic, and memorable.’

Following up on his long-time idea of releasing a solo album, he seized the chance with his first offering “Ichor Carcinoma”. Released in 2017 it features guests such as Christopher Amott (Arch Enemy, Armageddon), Peter Wichers (Soilwork), Teemu Mäntysaari (Wintersun) and Travis Montgomery (Threat Signal, Jeff Loomis band).

In 2020, Dummer released is the follow-up sophomore “Embodiment of the Divine” and while it was parallel to the first, both musically and lyrically, it took a step in a sojourn journey. It featured many guests such as Andy Gillion (Mors Principium Est), Benjamin Ellis (Scar Symmetry), Bob Katsionis (ex-Firewind), Dean Arnold (Primalfrost, Operus, ex-Vital Remains), Lee McKinney (Born of Osiris), Peter Wichers (ex-Soilwork), Rafael Trujillo (ex-Obscura), and Ryan Strain (Chaos For The Masses.

The next chapter in Dummer’s journey is the release of his third self-titled Buried Realm studio album on June 3, 2022. Once again, Dummer has invited many guests on this record with Bob Katsionis (Witch Bones), Christian Münzner (Poison Palace), Christofer Malmström (Elder Gods), Christopher Amott (The Iron Flame/ Quicksand Memory), Dan Swanö (Where the Armless Phantoms Glide) and Dean Arnold (Spectral Light). The lyrical theme on this full length is about paranormal and psychological twists… mind tricks.

Discography:
2022 – Buried Realm
2020 – Embodiment of the Divine
2017 – The Ichor Carcinoma

– 30 –

“Like its predecessor, this one’s an absolute ripper on the more technical / heavy side of the melodic death metal coin.” – Metal Sucks (Embodiment of the Divine Review)

“Creative, melodic and really charming, “Embodiment of the Divine” is an amazing experience. 10/10” – Metal Temple

“Well done melodic death metal that hits all the right marks.” – Dead Rhetoric

“The fast-punching grooves in the song (The Wonder and Terror of Fortune) are a match for the ecstatic energy of everything else. One listen, and you can tell why this track was chosen as the album closer — it sends the listener out on an enormous high.” – No Clean Singing

“Buried Realm play an eager, galloping sort of melodeath, with lots of speedy leads, upbeat riffs, synthesizers, and solos everywhere. It’s almost as if Blind Guardian enthusiasm and subject matter met up with Scar Symmetry’s love of ambience and melodic-yet-death-y riffs… I commend Buried Realm for their songwriting, performances, and ambition.” – Angry Metal Guy

“Given that The Ichor Carcinoma has so many guests, it stands to reason that it has a diverse sound, ranging from hyper-speed solos, breakdowns, a mixture of screams and clean singing and more, but at the end of the day, it can be classified as an impressive melodic death metal debut.” – Decibel Magazine (Review – The Ichor Carcinoma 2017)

“Buried Realm sound a whole lot like what you’d expect given the bands whose guest musicians Dummer tapped for the project: aggressive, catchy, Sweden-inspired melodic death metal. If you like all the bands name-checked above, you’re sure to like this one. It’s incredibly well-done and expertly crafted.” – MetalSucks (Review – The Ichor Carcinoma 2017)

Canada’s Deformatory Unveil Music Video For “Beyond The Abhorrence” Off “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”

Music Video Premiere via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” Out September 3, 2021

Ottawa’s brutal duo Deformatory has crafted a maniacal and unconventional approach to extreme metal that has garnered the devotion of fans worldwide ever since their debut EP “A Prelude Of…” in 2011.

This year, they are releasing their third album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon”, with a sci-fi concept that picks up where 2016’s “Malediction” left off. Over time, as members joined and left the band, their sound has been reworked and redefined. Deformatory explains further:

“Initially, there were so many different ideas and flavours trying to get crammed into Deformatory that it never felt locked in. It’s safe to say that the new songs, especially for this album, are the closest Deformatory have ever been to truly sounding like itself.”

When asked what fans can expect from Deformatory, they reply:

“No frills. No bullshit. Just straight-up death metal. The goal is to leave people wondering what the hell just happened. A maniacal frenzy.”

The lyrics for this album are partly inspired by “The Scarlet Gospels” by Clive Barker’s and guitarist and vocalist Charlie Leduc’s own interpretation and expansion of the Hellraiser mythos. This is the foundation block that helped to propel the entire concept, which was uniquely crafted and independently developed.  The single and final track on the record, “Beyond The Abhorrence” starts to draw a conclusion to the predicament of an evil race of inter-dimensional light devourers find themselves in.

A sonically relentless death metal experience, Deformatory is recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Origin, and Hate Eternal.

The music video for “Beyond The Abhorrence”, which was created by Riivata Visuals (who did the recent “Disruptor” music video for Fear Factory) can be viewed via NoCleanSinging HERE.

The album “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” will be released on September 3, 2021.

About:
Deformatory is a death metal band from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Forming in 2010, they set out to create an extreme sound, fusing together classic influences (Cryptopsy, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, etc.) and their love for modern tech death. The result is a uniquely relentless blend of death metal that can only hail from the Northern hemisphere.

Deformatory independently released their full-length debut, “In The Wake of Pestilence”, in December of 2013. This pummeling 9-track debut has been exceptionally well-received by fans worldwide, and has been cited as being an “outstanding and monstrous debut album. Essential.” (Frank Rini – AllAboutTheRock, ex: Internal Bleeding), and “flawless in every way” (TheBloodShed).

Having shared the stage with bands like Cryptopsy, Napalm Death, Obscura, Beyond Creation, Gorod, Archspire, and Fuck The Facts, Deformatory is more than comfortable delivering their crushing brand of extreme metal to live, screaming, and sweaty audiences.

The band’s sophomore release, “Malediction”, was released worldwide via CDN Records in 2016, with additional singles “Once Upon the Cross” (Deicide cover), and “Myiasis” both in 2018. Since then, DEFORMATORY has been developing their 3rd full-length album entitled “Inversion of the Unseen Horizon” which they plan to unveil in the Fall of 2021 as an independent release.

Newfoundland Black Metal Duo Artach Conjure Up Mysticism With “She Gathers Leaves” Off “Sworn to Avenge”

Lyric Video Premiere via NoCleanSinging

New Album “Sworn to Avenge” Out June 25th via Depressive Illusions Records

St. JOhn’s Newfoundland is home to some of the most unforgiving, bleak, and snowiest weather in the country and local black metal act Artach uses that grey atmosphere as an inspiration for their raw and epic music.

Last year, Artach released a debut album “Chronicles of a Black Winter” and this year, will follow it up with “Sworn to Avenge”. The second single from the upcoming release is “She Gathers Leaves”, being presented in a lyric video. The single is more mystical and pagan than the other tracks on the album, as they explain:

“The music has a bit of a gothy feel in places and that leads to having some lyrics about witchy subject matter.”

They go on, to comment on the album:

“The music on the album is a frigid mixture of topics about nature and how it meets and interacts with the darkness of humankind. The desolation of the world, the planet, and the repeated failure of society to evolve to a place where we are a part of nature and not brutish subjugators of everything in our path.”

Coming from the coldest, windiest, snowiest, foggiest city in Canada, Artach’s music is heavily influenced by nature and even takes after the bleak climate they are surrounded by. “Sworn to Avenge” is an inescapable, cold and at times unhinged grimness. Raw aggression tempered with bouts of melody evoking the grandmasters of the genre while incorporating first and second wave black metal influences.

Raw and epic black metal, Artach is recommended listening for fans of Immortal, Celtic Frost, and Darkthrone.

The lyric video for “She Gathers Leaves” can be seen and heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

“Sworn to Avenge” is being released on June 25th via Depressive Illusions and is available for pre-order / save at the following links: DepressiveIllusions.com, Artach.bandcamp.com, Amazon, Spotify.

About:
Artach is a two-man black metal band (Sruthán: Guitar/Bass, Fíochmhar: Battery/Vokills/Keys)based in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Being from the foggiest, snowiest, wettest, windiest, and gloomiest capital city in Canada, one should not be surprised that this fuels the creation of Black Metal. Their inspiration comes from the land, nature, the bleak weather of the Canadian North, and influential black metal bands.

Since the duo’s formation in the spring of 2019, Artach has been consistently releasing new music. The band’s debut album “Chronicles of a Black Winter” was released digitally during February 2020 and later unleashed on physical CD by Depressive Illusions Records. The full length contained 9 songs of extreme, harsh, and haunting sounds, which included a cover of Celtic Frost’s ‘Jewel Throne’.

Now in 2021, the band returns with their next offering “Sworn To Avenge”, a full-length scourge of raw and relentless bruting gloom. From the calming blasts and savagery of album opener “Tuiteam an Duine” to the ingrained black metal blast beats, and headbanging riffage on “Shimmer” to the 20-minute exploration for the epic “Endless Tundra” about the doomed Franklin expedition of 1846 to the Immortal-esque riffing and unorthodox exorcism of album closer “Winter’s End”, Artach delivers a 65-minute cold deliverance of their surroundings.

The band adds:

“The music on ‘Sworn To Avenge’ is a frigid mixture of topics about nature and how it meets and interacts with the darkness of humankind. The desolation of the world, the planet, and the repeated failure of society to evolve to a place where we are a part of nature and not brutish subjugators of everything in our path… these are all themes described throughout many songs. The music is angry, savage, unhinged, but contains melody and some twists and turns to surprise the listener. Varied song tempos mixing blasting with thrashy, punky, doomy elements keep the sounds interesting and not monotone. Song structures often vary and we never limit a song to a certain length. We indulge and have them be as long, or as short as we think feels right.”

“Sworn To Avenge” will be available digitally from Artach along with CD and cassette via Depressive Illusions Records on June 2021.

– 30 –

“The album is definitely black metal – but there are some really nice elements in that that makes this author think the musicians are truly having some fun. In particular, ‘Frozen In Time’, exhibits this by delivering several rhythmic textures and a variety of guitar techniques. The vocals are also just well placed in this track in both timing and style.” – Brutalism (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

“Artach have overnight become one of the most interesting bands to come out of the Newfoundland metal scene in some time, not only for the Darkthrone-esque duality of their lineup, but for their genuine appreciation for all things grim and frostbitten and their unique flavour of first wave meets second wave black metal. If you’ve not given Chronicles of a Black Winter a listen yet, give it a spin or two. It’s definitely worth checking out.” – HeavyNFLD (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

“Artach is a mysterious two-piece Black Metal band who have issued their debut CHRONICLES OF A BLACK WINTER. Artach have spawned some fierce raw and primeval Black Metal. I’m hearing lots of classic Hellhammer/Bathory/Venom and maybe even dipping into second wave stuff like Immortal. It is all very black and grim the way this type of stuff should be.” – Metal-Rules (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

“Like the album’s title may suggest, this album’s atmosphere is as cold and bleak as the North winds.  The album is very riff focused with modern production, but it isn’t too clean—I actually really enjoyed the production. Vocally, it is very unique and [not] just the same ol endless blackened screams.” – Metal Temple (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

“A solid dose of second wave black metal.” – Astral Noize (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

“This is an album that took a little time to grow on me and after more listens than I care to count, I still hear little twists that I hadn’t heard before. Pretty cool debut from a band that’s doing its own thing in a genre where bands are often content to imitate.” Rating: ⅘ – The Metal Crypt (Album Review – 2020 Chronicles of a Black Winter)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 5, 2021

For fans of Skeletonwitch, Darkthrone, Voivod, Ihsahn, Carcass

Canada’s Maudiir Announce Corrosive Black Thrash Single “The Slumber” Off Upcoming “La Part Du Diable”

Single Premiere via NoCleanSinging

New EP “La Part Du Diable” Out February 19, 2021

Coined as ‘blackened thrash metal’ F of Maudiir takes advantage of complete creative control and effortlessly moves between styles, adding infusions of punk, focused guitar solos, and clean production to the classic black metal vocals and chunky bass riffs.

The first single “The Slumber” off Maudiir forthcoming 2021 EP “La Part du Diable” starts on a big bass riff flirting with drone guitars and explodes into an epic instrumental black metal section. The song is about the worst personality traits we have seen awaken in some people, and that might have stayed dormant if not for the current situation. Maudiir comments on the EP as a whole:

“I had great reviews for the first EP “Le Temps Peste”. I think the new EP “La Part du Diable” expands on the first one and brings more progressive elements to the songs. I also managed to get the bass guitar at the forefront of the songs, which is not so common in modern metal, so I’m really happy about that. All in all, it’s a pretty interesting and unique listen.”

Creating an intensely dark sound, “La Part du Diable’‘ was inspired by reactions from people to the health crisis created by Covid, the political climate in the US, and conspiracy theories. This second offering from the band goes in a slightly more progressive and thrash direction than the first, F has also added distortion to the bass guitar giving a Voïvod-esque feel to the songs. It’s a riff-driven  EP with big bass grooves and corrosive vocals, mixing thrash metal and black metal with progressive elements, giving it a unique sound and feel.

Recommended for fans of Skeletonwitch, Darkthrone, and Voivod, “The Slumber” can be heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

The single will be available on all digital platforms on January 8, 2021 and the full EP “La Part du Diable” is out on February 19, 2021.

1. Fracture (4:50)
2. The Slumber (4:57)

About:

Maudiir, coming from the underbelly of Montreal, Quebec, Canada is an outlet for observations on obedience and industrialization riddled with man-made waste. With 80s heavy metal influences alongside black metal and punk, Maudiir is unique in sound; hauntingly dark while being corrosive and galloping.

Maudiir is a one-man black/thrash metal project that formed to be musically independent. Starting with guitar, F. works his way through each sullen track, adding drums, recording all the colorations and textures of the guitars, adding bass, and finally writing the words, very often at the same time they are being recorded.

The pessimistic aura of the music combines with lyrics about consumer society, religion, science going awry, addiction to technology, and environmental decay.

Maudiir released their debut EP “Le Temps Peste” during February 2020 and now returns exactly a year later with the follow up “ La Part du Diable”
due out February 19, 2021.

Creating an intensely dark sound, “La Part du Diable” was inspired by reactions from people to the health crisis created by Covid, the political climate in the US, and conspiracy theories. It’s a riff-driven  EP with big bass grooves and corrosive vocals, mixing thrash metal and black metal with progressive elements, giving it a unique sound and feel.

“I would say that with “La Part du Diable”, I’m going into a slightly more progressive and thrash sound than on the first EP. I also added distortion to the bass guitar this time around, which I think adds a Voïvod feel to the songs.”

F. (ex-Deeply Confused, Tears for the Dead Gods) is also currently leading prog/thrash metal outfit Trinity Blast.

Maudiir is F.

“Touches of punk add attitude to these five angry and aggressive pieces of blackened thrash metal and make it an impressive debut EP” –  Loud Enough? Magazine

“Some really great tracks and precise playing makes this debut EP a note worthy event” – Absolute Underground Magazine

““Le Temps Peste” is overall an engaging listen that, as it progresses, gets even better and more complex, gradually easing you into the building mood and feel of the EP, the first couple of tracks  “Product” and “Abuse The Used” build on bleak Blackened driving riffs alongside a vitriolic rasping vocal delivery, the latter also benefiting from more of a haunting melody developing, a galloping Thrashy second half and soaring lead work which really adds to the sound.” 4/5 – The Metal Wanderlust

– Metal France

Canada’s Duskwalker Release Music Video For H.P. Lovecraft Inspired “The Crawling Tongue” Off “All They Know Is Fear”

Video Premiere via NoCleanSinging

“All They Know Is Fear” Out Now! via CDN Records

The members of Ontario’s Duskwalker have been making their rounds in the underground metal scene for decades and their efforts culminated in the current form in 2015. Having originally started with the sole purpose of being a money-making cover band, things took a heavier turn when they morphed into a kickass metal band.

They released a full-length “Codex Mystirium” in 2016 under the name The Offering and traveled extensively to promote it, however, due to another band with the same name they took the name of one of their songs. In 2019, under the name Duskwalker, they released “All They Know Is Fear” via CDN Records. They released the video for the single “Shadowcreeper” via Decibel Magazine and also won the 2019 Niagara Music Award for Best Heavy Metal Group.

A heavy throwback yet modern, Duskwalker‘s album “All They Know Is Fear” as a whole is made to be enjoyed from beginning to end with carefully arranged songs that provide a well-rounded listening experience. It is a monstrous sophomore album with themes of myth, conspiracy, and horror, showing that Duskwalker have conjured a diverse mix of extreme metal that’s recommended for fans of Morbid Angel, Carcass, and Pantera.

Today, the band shares their next music video for their track “The Crawling Tongue”. The song is about the H.P. Lovecraft character Nyarlothtep along with featuring super heavy riffs and vocals that sound really pissed off akin to Morbid Angel and Pantera mixed together. The band explains the track:

“We want it to take the listener somewhere dark. We have forged traditional metal, old school death, and thrash. Genres are blended creating a visceral assault that stands out from song to song with a dose of atmosphere and darkness.”

Watch “The Crawling Tongue” via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

“After drummer Cale Costello summons listeners with a lethal drum roll, the song (Shadowcreeper) quickly lunges for the kill. Vocalist Joey Scaringi’s rasped snarls and growls accompany blastbeats until the mid-song breakdowns syncopate with the Shadowcreeper’s violent pursuit. Once guitarist John Robinson’s sharpened solo starts stabbing, the finale seems written in blood. There’s no happy ending here, just melodic death metal that balances brutality and infectious grooves.” – Decibel Magazine

“Your neck is going to hurt after giving these guys a spin. DUSKWALKER evoke a pure metal spirit that hones a modern groove into a heavier and darker place where all they know is fear! Their tunes pick and pull accents of influence from a wide spectrum but overall stay true to a highly accessible and aggressive metal barrage. Every song on the album is different but shades of Dethklok, Carcass, Pantera, Amon Amarth, Revocation, and Nile can be felt in the shadows around every turn. “All They Know Is Fear” proves to be one hell of a ride, in which I’m sure will resonate a diverse group of metalheads. Crank this up loud and apologies in advance for tomorrow’s neck pain! 8/10” – Blessed Altar Zine

Comprised of several musicians with a long history in Calgary’s metal scene (Culled, After Earth, Meddigo, False Flag, WAKE, Disciples of Power, Exit Strategy, and Razorwing), THIRD CHAMBER is cooking up a new, yet familiar death metal sound that will nourish even the pickiest of metal enthusiasts. If you’re a fan of bands such as Black Dahlia Murder, Suffocation, At the Gates, Misery Index, and Napalm Death, then you’ll want to check out the advance full stream of their debut EP “Harvesting Our Decay” via its exclusive premiere on NoCleanSinging.com HERE. The EP is due out Friday, November 22nd.

With death being the main ingredient in their metal melting pot, hints of grindcore and hardcore also stand out amidst flavours of their politically charged lyrics. THIRD CHAMBER is not music for the soft, besides being musically ferocious, the lyrical content is a brutal reflection of the current state of the world. From negative motivations of religious organizations, the effects of social media on mental distress, the ever-growing pride of ignorance, the exploitation of our natural resources for the profit of the wealthy and the manipulation and lack of actual truth in most media consumed by the ever-growing bewildered herd.

The band adds:

“Musically the EP is a journey through the history of old school death metal with interludes of more modern death metal aesthetics. Lyrically the release touches on the problems we see on constant repeat in today’s modern plugged-in society.”

THIRD CHAMBER will be hitting the road for four dates across the province of Alberta in November and December.

“A strong 5 track EP with fierce vocals, drums, riffs, and well played solos that are timed to hit the right places. Not a boring EP by any stretch. Third Chamber give you a taste for what will come on the future album.” – Metal Nerd Republic

“With death metal as their wicked foundation, Third Chamber twists in other genres such as hardcore to create a ripping, punchy and all together skull bashing sound. Their upcoming five track EP titled Harvesting Our Decay is ferocious, explosive and down right neck bending heavy. If you aren’t head banging to this release you may as well not even have a pulse. Each track does a great job of getting right underneath your skin and right in your face, shredding you limb from limb until the final note rings through your speakers.” – Cadaver Garden
