TYMO Flirt With Progressive Thrash On Latest Single “Age Of Deception” Off Upcoming Album “The Art of A Maniac”

Track Premiere via Metal-Rules

New Album “The Art of A Maniac” Out Feb 2022

North American / EU Release Date Feb 5th

Japanese Release Date Feb 16th via Spiritual Beast

Edmonton, Canada’s TYMO have a third single coming out off their solidly thrash metal album “The Art of A Maniac” slated for release next month. The single “Age of Deception” is a groovy, progressive, jazz fusion inspired track, reminiscent of early Megadeth. The song touches on the subject of social media abuse and how people change under the influence of technology and how the human race is now very connected yet still so very distant from each other. TYMO explain the track further:

““Age Of Deception” was an instrumental that Nick Schwartz had written over 12 years ago, which was sitting in his computer. He showed it to the rest of the band and everyone was blown away. Nick was taking jazz guitar lessons at the time and it really rubbed off on this track.

Tim quickly added some lyrics to it and it became “Age Of Deception.” This song is definitely a new style for the band and really shows off our skillset! One of those songs that’s fast and to the point, another favorite to play live!”

The band initially started out as vocalist/guitarist Tim Tymo’s solo project, but once the current lineup formed they found that they had good chemistry as a band and wanted to work together on new music. Their common musical interests have led them down the path of playing faster and heavier, and before they knew it, they were a thrash metal band.

Their lyrical inspirations can vary from our life experiences as well as our personal interests. However, the increased intensity of the songs, especially on “The Art of A Maniac” has led to crazier lyrical ideas this time around, including alien invasion, civil conflicts, social media, and total annihilation.

TYMO describes their music as “The feeling of being caught in a tornado and going for a ride around the funnel”, it is recommended for fans of Slayer, Lich King and Municipal Waste.

The single “Age Of Deception” can be heard via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

“The Art of A Maniac” is recommended for fans of Megadeth, Slayer, Lich King, Municipal Waste, and Exodus.

The album will be available in North America and Europe on February 5th. The Japanese edition featuring two exclusive tracks will be available released via Spiritual Beast on February 16th.

About:
“A golden shower of thrash metal!” Six words to sum up Tymo! A band whose attitude lives up to the title of their debut album “Purge & Reset”. Lead guitarist and vocalist Tim Tymo explains that the origin of the title is more than words; it is a statement of lost faith in humanity. “Let’s just say we have a creator or superior being. If this god gave up everything we needed to flourish and returned to see all the wars and corruption, it would want to wipe the slate clean and start over. Hence…PURGE AND RESET!

Formed in Edmonton in 2015, Tymo is comprised of Tim Tymo as the lead guitarist and vocalist, Nick Schwartz on rhythm guitar, Harlen Jacobs on bass, and Marc Durie on drums.

Tim Tymo describes the band’s sounds as “loud, angry, and explosive thrash”. Tymo has a serious mission to entertain their fans. “We love writing and performing, and we all share a common passion for thrash metal. We wanted to reference our heroes and mix up that inspiration with our own brew and see what we came up with, and here we are. We want to give people a source of inspiration and excitement!

Tymo’s debut album “Purge & Reset” was released in August of 2017 and Tymo performed shows in support of the album throughout 2018. The band returned to the studio in early 2019 to record a single entitled “Sanity Clause.” It was released in late 2019 with very positive reviews and sold-out shows! Due to Covid 19, the band spent much of 2020 in the studio recording their follow-up album to Purge & Reset!

As of 2021, Tymo performed at the Loud As Hell Festival 2021 and has finished recording their next full-on thrash album! Much faster and more aggressive than Purge & Reset. The album entitled “The Art of A Maniac” is planned to be released in 2022 and Tymo has a mission to expand its audience and dominate the world! Planning to tour Europe and many other countries.

Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST Rockets Debut Single “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt”

Do you like Tolkien tells? What if we would transpose his stories in space?
Listen to Scavengers of Kuiper Belt and join the race to find
the most precious object of the entire Solar System!

Debut Self-Titled Album Coming Spring 2022

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) for the release of their self-titled debut album due out Spring 2022.

Birthed to travel the cosmos, Italy’s Vanderlust is a power-heavy metal band with prog-thrash influences that tells tales of space travels, astronomy, space engineering, and sci-fi adventures.

“We tried to mix a prog-thrashy riffing in the roots of Megadeth, Vektor and Tool with epic vocal parts like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Angra, and Lione’s Rhapsody. We also put sci-fi elements in our songs, so you can hear also something from Voivod.” adds the band.

This debut recording is like a stellar system with 12 different planets. The star at the center of the system represents the heavy-power metal around all the songs revolving. Despite all the tracks being irradiated by the same light, they are all different from each other. Vanderlust has fast thrash, slow and doom, shiny and brilliant to grunge, and darker songs. Like planets, which appear like simple small bright spots, but in reality, are all big worlds, Vanderlust‘s songs are more complex than they sound at first listen. In fact, you can easily sing along to some of the choruses even if there are complex riffs in the background. Vanderlust is particularly proud of the participation of opera singer Letizia Cappellini who does vocals on select tracks and helps the band further expand the vocal register of their compositions. The band also adds the presence of synths and electronic elements to the compositions to set the sci-fi mood of the lyrics.

“The main goal was to start a metal band that could be an inspiration for young people, a band that could tell them stories from the future when mankind will have overcome its limits and the solar system will be an entire human colony. This idea came to mind to founding members Francesco and Santo when they began their search for other members that could fit. Drummer Giacomo Mezzetti joined the space odyssey right before the covid-19 outbreak. Vocalist Riccardo Morello joined the band during the first lockdown in Italy, so the first song was entirely composed online, using videocalls and file sharing.” adds the band.

Today, the band unveils their first single “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt”, which they explain its story in further detail:

“In the Vanderlust Universe, The Scavengers are the employees of a large corporation that operates on many planets and colonies throughout the solar system. Their story begins in the 21st century when their main task was to capture all the space debris in Earth’s orbit. Due to the particular business organization and the bizarre recruiting rules, the company turned into a sort of tribe during the centuries. The importance of the Scavengers got bigger and bigger and, at the time of our story, they perform several important tasks, including fathoming the Kuiper belt in search of Ices (large orbiting frozen objects from which extract energy and precious materials). The main characters of our story are two scavengers during a typical working day. To alleviate the boredom of the day they decide to start a competition to find the most profitable Ice in the shortest time. But suddenly, here’s something they’ve never seen… A really strange object, a very precious object… very precious… can I see it? Today it’s my birthday… maybe you should give it to me…

Do you feel like you’ve heard this story before? Yup! It’s the story of Smeagol and Deagol … transposed into space!”

“Scavengers of Kuiper Belt” is a speed-power metal song in the vein of Blind Guardian style, fast and powerful. It has some technical sections (especially in the midsection). The singing is heavier and mighty, along with some thrashy riffs, a soft-fusion bridge, and a prog-thrash ending.

For their live aspect, Vanderlust is currently working hard to create a thrilling spectacle, giving all their energy to the fans and letting them join them on the space journey.

Album artwork and tracklisting to be unveiled at a later date.

Vanderlust is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Angra, Tool, Helloween, and Vektor.

Rockshots Records – Out Now! Greek Heavy Metal THIRTY FATES New Album “Circus Black”

New Music Video “Be Free” ft. Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens

Greece’s Thirty Fates have a new album “Circus Black” out now as of December 10th via Rockshots Records.

“Circus Black” is a nine-track anniversary record to celebrate the trio consisting of brothers Elias and Nick Tzintzilonis and Stelios Papakostas thirty years in heavy metal as friends and bandmates.

The full length of classic melodic heavy metal is four tracks (Indifferent People, The Edge of Destiny, Be Free, The Pretender) from their 1991 demo, two unreleased tracks from the ’80s, and three tracks from Black Fate’s 2001’s rare EP along with a brand-new song. The album is for those who truly enjoy 80’s classic heavy metal in the vein of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Queensryche, Dio, and Ozzy Osbourne. There are also guest vocals Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens and Angel Wolf Black.

For the album’s release day, Thirty Fates is sharing their latest music video “Be Free” ft. guest vocals from Tim ‘Ripper’ Owens.

“The guest appearance of Tim Ripper Owens, with crushing vocals makes the song flairs to priest alike, and we are happy he found it great. Freedom translated in different ways to each other, there are many ways to be free, but you must find the one way to be free yourself.” adds the band.

Video – https://youtu.be/h6EmV8zfGg4

The history of Thirty Fates begins in 1988 when they introduced themselves to the world in a band named Metal Invaders, which was soon changed to Black Fate. Under that moniker, they released a 4-track demo (1991), but soon after Elias (guitars) continued on to other various bands. Stelios (vocals) went on to a solo pop career releasing singles and touring all around Greece, along with forming the band Blow. Nick (drums) went on to other rock-heavy-pop bands, touring also as a freelancer and continuing on with Black Fate with four amazing musicians, where they released a self-titled EP (2001) and four full-lengths “Uncover” (2002) (Secret Port Records), “Deliverance of Soul” (2009) (Asiral), Between Visions & Lies (2014) (Ulterium Records) and “Ithaca” (2020) (Rockshots Records).

The trio of Thirty Fates explain how their reunion came to be:

“We felt the need to reform the band after so long time for our thirst of playing music together again. It came out spontaneously when we met each other five years ago, rehearsing the old staff reminiscing the good old times. Then we decided to re-record our first demo and some spare old songs, as we had all the efforts for making a record come to life. Seemed from the beginning we knew what exactly we wanted to do. Making music after so long, was a joyful ride from the past to the present & we really enjoyed it. For all our friends & loyal fans, who have followed for thirty years & also for our new friends. We hope you enjoy our music. It’s worth a listen.”

“Sorcière” is the third single off of Quebec’s Nova Spei recently released second album “Sequentis”. This sophomore record is more cohesive than their previous one, their 2017 self-titled debut. On this new album, they stay high energy, focusing on how they will translate their music to the stage.

The majority of Nova Spei’s lyrics focus on relatable experiences that people have regularly in their lives. They describe the meaning behind “Sorcière”:

“We created this album as a more ‘’metal’’ album, with lots of energy and powerful riffs. The summary of the single is that it represents our vices, our weaknesses, which can lead to an unhealthy relationship.”

A groovy undertone meets progressive, catchy riffs, compiled with aggressive vocals belting out the French lyrics. It’s accessible, but edgy enough to suit a discerning metalhead. It is heavier than their previous one, but will still be familiar to their current fans. They have a wide range of influences that combine to result in memorable, heavy music.

The djenty French metal is recommended for fans of Architects, Gojira and Deftones.

The music video for “Sorcière” can be seen and heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit YouTube channel – https://youtu.be/KfPMCk2tj4I

“Sequentis” is now out via Quebec label Bam&Co-Heavy. The album was written and produced by Nova Spei plus mixed and mastered by Anthony Chognard along with the album artwork done by Filip Ivanovic.

Album stream and download Novaspei.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music, Bam&Co.Heavy Online Store.

Hails to “The Alder Queen” as she takes her throne in the latest epic video from Canadian power metal warriors Ravenous. The track features guest vocals from Nina Osegueda of A Sound of Thunder and is off the band’s recently unleashed album “Hubris” (Feast Beast/ Spiritual Beast) that is being premiered today via Sonic Perspectives HERE.

The band explains the track:

“This song is an alternate take on Der Erlkonig – a poem written by Goethe and later adapted into Opera by Franz Schubert – in which a father rides to get his son medical attention, while the child cries out about supernatural forces trying to claim his life (Der Erklonig – loosely translated to the Elf King or The Alder King). The father continues to console the child, telling them it is simply the child’s imagination seeing these things, but as the child finally cries that he has been captured, the father looks down to find his son has died. The Ravenous rendition features Die Erlkonigin – the Elf/Alder Queen, played by Nina Osegueda of A Sound of Thunder – and follows the trajectory of the original tale with lyrics extracted directly from the original poem from 1782.”

Taking their performance, writing, and musicianship seriously, but allowing tongue-in-cheek humour and pop culture references to resonate through the songs, Ravenous is bringing fans anthemic tunes from a time when metal was hungry.

“Calgary’s Ravenous have fused their flamboyant cross-breeding of European power metal and early ‘80s US speed metal, using it like a sharp ’n’ shiny scythe to forge their way through the crowded underground. Past accomplishments have included tours and gigs with Delain, Alestorm, Hammerfall, Striker and Powerglove with festival appearances and headliners interspersed in between. Considering all of the above, it shouldn’t come as a surprise a large part of this quintet’s musical vocabulary involved loving it speedy, epic, melodically grandiose while having a sword waving good time in the process.” – Decibel Magazine

“Ravenous aren’t afraid to put it all out there; symphonic assaults blend with all-out thrash metal, underpinned by some of the most enthusiastic power metal of the year. From start to finish Hubris is chock full of anthemic and contagious fist-pumping, head-banging songs featuring dramatic vocals and shredding solos. Power metal fans rejoice: Hubris is a worthy addition to your collection.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“A great album of Power Metal, and even more. 9.5/10” – Metal Express Radio

“a sparkling speed metal fuelled power metal rampage, raising fists high, banging heads hard, and causing fans everywhere to roar out loud with delight. 5/5” – Metal-Roos

“a sparkling speed metal fuelled power metal rampage, raising fists high, banging heads hard, and causing fans everywhere to roar out loud with delight.10/10” – Metal Gods TV

“Hubris reminds me of early Dragonforce (the faster numbers) and Orden Ogan (the mid-paced material) though the songwriting is a notch or two below those bands currently. This is a solid second album from Ravenous, who display significant upside, and fans of the aforementioned bands will want to give it spin. 3.75/5” – The Metal Crypt

Rage In My Eyes, hailing from Brazil, have an innovative new EP released this past October, “Spiral”. Now they have their new music video for the second single off the record, “Spark of Hope”, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/VXZVtNJ2iQM

Originally going under the band name “Scelerata”, they released a handful of records and were Paul Di’Anno’s backup band for many years. It was only recently they decided to musically change their direction and name to Rage In My Eyes. This new form took hold in 2018, and the main change to the music was stepping back from the basic traditional/power metal they were used to and showcasing their culture through the inclusion of milonga, a traditional folk music genre from southern Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina. The expand on the new musical direction:

“The most curious thing about the band is the addition of the accordion, which is not a common instrument for Heavy Metal bands. The “Gaucho” visuals and the sound of the accordion is, without a doubt, something that separates us from other bands. Plus, the powerful and beautiful vocal tone of vocalist Jonathas Pozo is always a treat to listen to live.”

The single, “Spark Of Hope” is a folk song strongly influenced by the Gaucho culture from southern Brazil, musically and lyrically. It talks about a story during 19th century Southern Brazil, after a decade of war, two men duelled for a matter of honor. One is a rebel Lieutenant and the other, an indigenous tracker known as Missioneiro. Once they fought back to back, now they will cross blades with each other. Lurking their tragic demise, a Lady in white awaits to take them to a final journey as a new sun rises.

“Spiral” is Rage In My Eye’s second release under their new name, following the 2019 full-length “Ice Cell”. As Scelerata, they released 3 full-lengths “The Sniper” (2012), “Skeletons Domination” (2008), and “Darkness & Light” (2006).

Rage in My Eyes is technical and innovative and highly recommended for fans of Helloween, Symphony X and Iron Maiden.

The new EP is available on Rageinmyeyes.bandcamp.com, Spotify.

About:
RAGE IN MY EYES introduces to the world a unique kind of music. Being from southern Brazil, the band shows a side of the country most people don’t know about. Blending heavy/prog metal with elements of milonga – which is a music genre from southern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina – the band presents new sound to the metal genre.

The band’s first album “Ice Cell” was recorded in 2017 and 2018, partially in Los Angeles due to drummer Francis Cassol’s move to the city and partially in their native Porto Alegre, Brazil.

For 16 years the band went under the name Scelerata, which had a huge history in the Brazilian heavy metal scene. The band had three albums released worldwide, including the internationally acclaimed album The Sniper – partially recorded in Germany, at the Blind Guardian studio – that featured guest appearances from Paul DiAnno (former Iron Maiden) and Andi Deris (Helloween).

Scelerata was also Paul DiAnno’s official Brazilian backing band from 2009 to 2014, playing 50+ shows with this heavy metal icon. With this huge background, the musicians are now aiming for the future.

RAGE IN MY EYES have teamed up with some of the best professionals in the heavy metal business to deliver a head-turning EP in 2021 entitled “Spiral” to follow the success of their 2019 full-length “Ice Cell”. The new EP will feature plenty of material for all different types of metal lovers. It has great guitar riffs, fast drum parts, intricate instrumental parts plus powerful yet melodic vocals.

The EP was written and made during a Covid pandemic. All band members suffered losses of loved ones during the pandemic, some directly related to Covid, some not. Also due to Covid, the band couldn’t get together in a practice room to jam the material. Each member had to work on their part separately, which was something new within the band. Plus, some songs were being written and arranged during the recording sessions, so they felt it was being made in real time. All of the above impacted the EP’s lyrics and songwriting. They like to think of this record as a way to say farewell to their dear loved ones and as a spiral of emotions that keeps coming and going during Covid times.

RAGE IN MY EYES’ new EP “Spiral” is due out October 15th, 2021.

Shared Stage with:
Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Dream Theater, Kamelot, Gamma Ray, Angra, Edguy

Rockshots Records – SARTORI Streaming Title Track Off Upcoming Album “Dragon’s Fire”

Debut Album “Dragon’s Fire” Out January 28, 2022

Rockshots Records is proud to announce their signing of SARTORI for the release of their forthcoming debut album “Dragon’s Fire” due out on January 28, 2022.

The epic full length is nine tracks of neo-classical power metal that are melodic, technical, and progressive. Led by main composer and guitarist Andy Sartori, with vocalist Scott Board, drummer Dino Castano and bassist Rod Viquez, the band sets the mood for something more than just singing over music.

With grandiose instrumentals and heroic vocals, Sartori creates complex, melodic tunes that command attention. They are heavily influenced by classical baroque music, so the band stands as the symphony behind Andy Sartori as the ‘maestro’. What sets these guys apart from other bands is their music composition. Andy Sartori explains further:

“We use a lot of arrangements that you won’t find any other bands doing. Lots of vocals, lots of guitar quartets, duets, and harmony arrangements. My writing is based on positive vibes, positive lyric content, no criticism, no anger, and I write sometimes about spiritual content in the matter of being a better human and about life experiences, personal and in general along with influence from movies and stories I enjoy… sometimes.”

Today, in preview to the album’s release, Sartori is sharing the title track and first single “Dragon’s Fire” at the following links:

Assaulting the masses with their debut EP “We All Will Die One Day” recently unleashed on November 5th, Halifax, Canada’s Bone Tower is sharing their latest music video for their track “Under A Veil”, which can be seen and heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

“This song is pissed. There is more than one meaning, but it’s really written about the perception that you are always in the wrong, that who you are is a made-up persona, you aren’t good enough, and you should be exiled from everything positive in your life. This feeling couldn’t be further from the truth, and it is simply anxiety creeping in to say hello; A flurry of notes and blast beats being thrown at you really like to drive that idea deep into your head, though. Cower away under a veil of delusion.” adds the band.

Filthy grindcore from Atlantic Canada, Bone Tower formed earlier this year with a defined vision – to deliver an abusive and abrasive offering that would be the soundtrack for the madness that has ensued on a global level over the past year and a half during Covid times.

The trio of Jonas DeViller (vocals/electronics/lyrics), Sean Carroll (guitar/bass), and Michael Bowers (guitar/bass/vocals) are seasoned extreme musicians and were able to quickly write and produce their debut record in two weeks. Coming together very swiftly and organically, the band’s comments on the EP’s explosive earworm tendencies.

“Both sonically and lyrically, ‘We All Will Die One Day’ represents a collective status of disarray. Challenging speed and complex rhythms serve to accelerate unfavourable emotions to the forefront of your mind. A raw and unfiltered by-product of mental health in disarray and unfocused aggression, with no real direction on how to cope in a post-pandemic landscape. Basically, a big ‘f* you’ to the world we live in. While presented in an ugly package, these songs are a cathartic release with the intent of extinguishing deep feelings of depression and anger.”

With a ferocity influenced mostly by death metal, grindcore, and hardcore, Bone Tower is recommended for fans of Cryptopsy, Atka, and Trap Them.

“We All Will Die One Day” is available digitally and on cassette via No Funeral Records & Fresh Outbreak Records at the following links: Bonetower.bandcamp.com, Store.nofuneral.ca, Freshoutbreak.bandcamp.com, Spotify and Apple Music here.

About:
Bone Tower got its start early in 2021, with the sole purpose of channeling built-up negative energy and creating a hectic, pissed-off sounding record. Hailing from Atlantic Canada they got straight to the point through pummeling angry death metal.

Bone Tower is the musical equivalent of the chaos ensuing globally since last year. An angry jab back at the universe for anyone who was angry and watched the world unfold with racial upheaval, conservatives and conspiracists coming out of the woodwork against Covid, economic regression with millions losing jobs, the entire world changing beneath our feet, and for the politicians who claimed to be on our side but continue to fight against the truth.

The trio of Jonas DeViller (vocals/electronics/lyrics), Sean Carroll (guitar/bass), and Michael Bowers (guitar/bass/vocals) is a seasoned one at that and they were able to quickly write and produce their debut EP ‘We All Will Die One Day’ in two weeks. It came together as a whole very quickly and organically.

This is just the start for Bone Tower, they already have a follow-up record in the works. As of now, they are mostly a recording project but they intend on eventually playing shows. When they do finally play live, it’s bound to be just as fucked up as the recording.

EP ‘We All Will Die One Day’ is due out November 5, 2021.
