Out Now! VANDERLUST’s New Sci-Fi Metal Opera “The Human Farm” via Rockshots Records
+ Video “Viral Escape”

|
Following the release of their new concept album “The Human Farm“, Italian metal band Vanderlust presents the official music video for “Viral Escape”, one of the record’s most intense and representative tracks.
Built on high-speed momentum and sharp, dynamic arrangements, “Viral Escape” captures a crucial turning point within the album’s narrative. As the rebellion against the Coelacanth spreads across multiple planets, the track mirrors the urgency and scale of a coordinated uprising, where communication becomes the catalyst for collective action. The escape plan, encoded under the name “The Cave”, propagates across worlds, transforming isolated resistance into a unified movement toward freedom.
Musically, the track stands as one of the album’s most powerful statements, blending the band’s melodic metal foundation with intricate structures, progressive nuances, and a strong sense of forward drive. It is a defining example of Vanderlust’s evolving identity: energetic yet controlled, refined yet aggressive, always serving the narrative arc of the concept.
Taken from “The Human Farm“, a sci-fi concept album exploring the tension between protection and freedom, “Viral Escape” highlights the band’s ability to merge storytelling and composition into a cohesive listening experience. The album unfolds as a continuous journey, where each track contributes to a broader narrative shaped by philosophical questions and dystopian scenarios.
With the release of the official music video, Vanderlust offers listeners a deeper insight into the storyline behind the track, emphasizing the thematic core of the album while reinforcing the connection between music and narrative.

BIOGRAPHY:
Vanderlust was born from a precise artistic vision: to tell science fiction stories through the language of melodic/progressive metal. What began as an ambitious concept soon evolved into a fully developed identity, where traditional heavy and power metal foundations merge with progressive structures, intricate riffing, and atmospheric textures shaped by a futuristic imagination.
At the creative core stands guitarist Francesco Romeggini, whose compositional direction defines the band’s sonic architecture. His ideas, later refined collectively by the band, result in a dynamic balance between technical detail and emotional depth. The members bring experience from previous acts such as S91, Dreal, and Speed Kills, combining classic metal roots with a forward-looking approach.
Vanderlust’s sound can be described as energetic, refined, and intricate, yet always driven by narrative purpose. Melodic power metal emerges strongly in the vocal phrasing, while progressive elements influence structures and rhythmic patterns rather than sheer song length. Sci-fi atmospheres surface not only through thematic choices but also through electronic layers and occasional orchestral arrangements, reinforcing the cinematic scale of their storytelling without losing the grit of traditional metal.
With “The Human Farm“, the band reaches a clear stage of maturation. Expanding beyond the more traditional framework of their debut, Vanderlust intensifies their progressive edge and strengthens the conceptual dimension of their work. The album unfolds as a cohesive narrative journey, exploring themes of freedom, control, and existential choice delivered through high-energy tracks, dynamic contrasts, and emotionally charged moments.
On stage, the band translates complexity into impact. Rather than focusing solely on instrumental execution, Vanderlust aims for a powerful, engaging live presence, ensuring that the emotional force of their music connects directly with the audience.
Vanderlust stands at the intersection of classic melodic metal and progressive sci-fi – a band committed to building worlds, not just songs.

Cosmic Prog Metal VANDERLUST Unchain The “Golden Shackles” From New Sci-Fi Metal Opera “The Human Farm” April 2026
|
|
Vanderlust unveil “Golden Shackles”, the new single extracted from their forthcoming concept album “The Human Farm“, a sci-fi driven metal release centered on a stark moral dilemma: is a life of comfort worth the surrender of freedom?
Vanderlust continues to consolidate its artistic identity by integrating melodic power metal foundations with progressive architecture, articulated riff construction, and carefully layered atmospheric elements. At the core of the compositional process stands guitarist Francesco Romeggini, whose vision shapes the structural coherence and narrative depth of the band’s sound.
Following the symphonic prologue “Humanity 2.0 – The Human Farm,” which establishes the dystopian framework of the album, “Golden Shackles” marks the first decisive fracture in the storyline. Centuries after humanity has embraced life inside the so-called Human Farm, the protagonist Abe begins to question the apparent perfection of a system that guarantees safety while concealing its true cost. What once appeared as salvation gradually reveals itself as confinement disguised as privilege.
From a musical standpoint, the track launches with controlled velocity and tightly engineered riffing, driven by angular figures and precise rhythmic interplay that generate forward momentum without sacrificing clarity. The guitar work alternates between incisive, high-impact passages and harmonically layered sections that reinforce the sci-fi atmosphere. Vocally, the melodic lines unfold with elevated phrasing and a dramatic, power-oriented cadence, intensifying both tension and thematic weight. The chorus provides a clear focal point – immediate yet fully integrated into the arrangement – balancing memorability and compositional complexity.
Within the broader context of “The Human Farm“, “Golden Shackles” functions as a structural hinge rather than a standalone statement. The album unfolds as a continuous narrative set in 2500 A.D., where an ancient alien species known as the Coelacanth offers humanity protection and prosperity at a fixed price: at the age of forty, every individual must be eliminated. Each track advances the plot with deliberate continuity, reinforcing the emotional arc of its characters while maintaining musical cohesion.
Compared to the band’s debut, this release represents a tangible evolution. Progressive elements are more deeply embedded in structural development and riff articulation; electronic textures and orchestral accents strengthen the futuristic framework; the songwriting displays greater focus and conceptual discipline. “Golden Shackles” crystallizes this maturation, balancing immediacy with narrative density and technical precision.
With this single, Vanderlust reaffirms their commitment to translating science fiction into a metal language that is energetic yet controlled, intricate yet accessible, an approach where storytelling, compositional rigor, and thematic consistency are not aesthetic choices but structural pillars of the band’s identity.

Cosmic Prog Metal VANDERLUST Unveils First Single “Humanity 2.0 – The Human Farm” From New Sci-Fi Metal Opera “The Human Farm” Out April 2026
|
|
Rockshots Records is proud to announce the release of “The Human Farm“, the ambitious new sci-fi concept album by progressive metal band Vanderlust, hitting stores worldwide on April 17th, 2025.
To ignite this interstellar journey, the band has unveiled the first single and opening chapter of the album today: “Humanity 2.0 – The Human Farm“.
STREAM “HUMANITY 2.0 – THE HUMAN FARM”: https://lnk.to/iEpgIm
YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUPFUoBm1Tc
“Humanity 2.0 – The Human Farm” is the symphonic overture that opens the gates to the band’s dystopian universe. More than a standard song, it serves as the narrative prologue, setting the atmosphere for the entire record. The track transports the listener to the year 2500 A.D. Humanity, suffering from poverty and despair, is visited by an ancient alien species known as the Coelacanth. They offer a “perfect life” inside a “Human Farm“: safety, comfort, and care, but at a terrible price -execution at the age of 40. This opening chapter poses the central dilemma of the record: if you were offered a short but perfect life in exchange for your freedom… would you accept?
Arriving April 17th, “The Human Farm” is a metal opera that blends traditional melodic power metal with technical progressive elements and thrash intensity. Inspired by Plato’s Cave allegory and classic sci-fi lore, the album tells the story of Abe and a group of rebels who discover their “perfect life” is a prison and attempt a desperate escape through the cosmos. Musically, the band describes the sound as energetic, refined, and atmospheric.
Drawing inspiration from the melodic grandeur of Angra and Dream Theater, the new material incorporates intricate, sci-fi riffing reminiscent of Vektor and Megadeth. Guitarist Francesco comments on the release: “To me, this album represents the band’s maturation. It is a journey; to fully enjoy it and truly understand its content, it needs to be listened to in its entirety. Just like the story tells, it unfolds as a narrative in which each track follows the previous one with a particular sense of continuity.”
The album features special guest appearances by Martina Barreca (Mess Excess), who provides the growls and operatic vocals representing the alien Coelacanths, and Francesco Londino (S91), who contributes keyboard solos and arrangements.

Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST Take You On A Journey To Mars w/ New Music Video “High Hopes”
Debut Self-Titled Album Out Now!
|
|
Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) invited fans into their galaxy of wonder with the release of their self-titled debut album released this past April via Rockshots Records.
Today, they share their next video adventure with “High Hopes”, a heavy-power metal song, that is fast and powerful. It mixes technical riffs with a melodic and catchy vocal line; it’s one of the band’s most Iron Maiden-oriented songs. The lyrics speak about the first human travel to Mars and the great hopes that this mission inspires.
Listen and watch “High Hopes” – https://youtu.be/jI1_XHZnorg
Birthed to travel the cosmos, Italy’s Vanderlust is a power-heavy metal band with prog-thrash influences that tells tales of space travels, astronomy, space engineering, and sci-fi adventures.
“We tried to mix a prog-thrashy riffing in the roots of Megadeth, Vektor, and Tool with epic vocal parts like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Angra, and Lione’s Rhapsody. We also put sci-fi elements in our songs, so you can hear also something from Voivod.” adds the band.
This debut recording is like a stellar system with 12 different planets. The star at the center of the system represents the heavy-power metal around all the songs revolving. Despite all the tracks being irradiated by the same light, they are all different from each other. Vanderlust has fast thrash, slow and doom, shiny and brilliant to grunge, and darker songs. Like planets, which appear like simple small bright spots, but in reality, are all big worlds, Vanderlust‘s songs are more complex than they sound at first listen. In fact, you can easily sing along to some of the choruses even if there are complex riffs in the background. Vanderlust is particularly proud of the participation of opera singer Letizia Cappellini who does vocals on select tracks and helps the band further expand the vocal register of their compositions. The band also adds the presence of synths and electronic elements to the compositions to set the sci-fi mood of the lyrics.
“The main goal was to start a metal band that could be an inspiration for young people, a band that could tell them stories from the future when mankind will have overcome its limits and the solar system will be an entire human colony. This idea came to mind to founding members Francesco and Santo when they began their search for other members that could fit. Drummer Giacomo Mezzetti joined the space odyssey right before the covid-19 outbreak. Vocalist Riccardo Morello joined the band during the first lockdown in Italy, so the first song was entirely composed online, using videocalls and file sharing.” adds the band.
For their live aspect, Vanderlust is currently working hard to create a thrilling spectacle, giving all their energy to the fans and letting them join them on the space journey.
Vanderlust is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Angra, Tool, Helloween, and Vektor.

Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) will be inviting fans into their galaxy of wonder with the release of their self-titled debut album on April 15th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.
Today, they share their next odyssey in the exploration for the “Orphan Planet”, which is the fifth single off the forthcoming record. Having already introduced fans to singles “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt”, “The Last Ganymedian”, “Requiem For An Ancient World” and “3 Suns”.
“Orphan Planet is a more proggy track. The riffs are complex, but the song has also fast and catchy melodic phrases. Around the end, the song gets heavier and heavier with a powerful falsetto vocal section. What if an orphan planet would enter our solar system? And what if this planet would have traces of an extinct alien form of life?” adds the band.

“3 Suns is another classic metal song; it starts with a slow intro based on vocals, bass, and guitar with some cymbal sounds and then turns into an aggressive song. It has Iron Maiden-inspired riffs and vocal parts. The instrumental section has some sci-fi sound effects. The lyrics talk about space travel towards a better and shiny place. Dream or reality?” adds the band.

Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST Shares Next Space Odyssey Single “Requiem For An Ancient World”
Debut Self-Titled Album Out April 15, 2022
|
|
Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) will be rocketing their self-titled debut album on April 15th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.
Previously inviting fans into their universe with their two singles “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt” and “The Last Ganymedian”, today, they share their next space adventure “Requiem For An Ancient World”, a prog-thrash song fitted with symphonic elements.
“It’s the darkest song on the album. It has an irregular structure and violent singing. The song is quite long and mixes very different sections from each other: it starts with a prog rhythm, then goes into a speedy section, and then returns back to prog-tech riffs; the ending part is a crescendo with symphonic choirs in an operatic mood. The atmosphere of this song is very tragic and epic at the same time. It talks about a clan of people rejected from the earth who seeks revenge. They manage to tame a new strong alien species and plot to use these beasts in warfare.” adds the band.

Rockshots Records – Cosmic Metal VANDERLUST Shares Space Ballad “The Last Ganymedian”
Debut Self-Titled Album Out April 15, 2022

Cosmic metallers VANDERLUST (ft. members of S91, Dreal) will be rocketing their self-titled debut album on April 15th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.
Inviting fans into their universe with their first single “Scavengers of Kuiper Belt” this past December, the space musicians are ready to share their next musical constellation entitled “The Last Ganymedian”, which is one of the two ballads on the album.
“It starts like a country-acoustic song (played by acoustic guitar) and then goes into metal riffing. This is a 90’s oriented song, slow and grungy. No prog-technical parts but very dynamic vocals and epic atmospheres. The last Ganymedian… should we still consider him a human being?” adds the band.

Birthed to travel the cosmos, Italy’s Vanderlust is a power-heavy metal band with prog-thrash influences that tells tales of space travels, astronomy, space engineering, and sci-fi adventures.
“We tried to mix a prog-thrashy riffing in the roots of Megadeth, Vektor and Tool with epic vocal parts like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Angra, and Lione’s Rhapsody.
