Seattle and Los Angeles-based heavy metal four-piece RivetSkull’s re-imagined full-length album was released on July 8th of this year. “Trail of Souls: Samsara” is a complete re-recording of the band’s self-published 2020 album “Trail of Souls”. The first single released was “Crash and Burn”, along with a psychedelic video. Of the single, RivetSkull says:

“‘Crash and Burn’ is about the pitfalls of relationships. Though you can try to stay clear of danger, sometimes you can’t help but fall into the same traps! The new recording and production convey the drive and momentum a song about recklessness should be swimming in. We think we got there with this song and all the others on the album.”

Oozing energy and easy-to-move-to vibes, the single brings back the classic sound of the 90s, played with precision and expert musicianship. The members of RivetSkull have been playing together previously for many years and vocalist Chad McMurray has training from Maestro David Kyle (vocal coach to Geoff Tate, Layne Staley, Ann Wilson), ensuring that the band is able to deliver a high level of production and professionalism. After self-recording and releasing their debut album during the global pandemic, they’ve revisited their songs with professional production that captures the massive sound that fans have come to expect from their live shows.

Since its release, “Trail of Souls: Samsara” has only been gaining momentum. Within the first month of its release, RivetSkull was fortunate enough to be featured on Band in Seattle, KISW’s Loud and Local Band of the Week, and they were interviewed for the Concerts that Made Us podcast.

Recorded at London Bridge Studio (Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Queensrÿche) and produced by Matt Hyde (Slayer, Deftones, Seether), “Trail of Souls: Samsara” promises much more than a sonic retouch of the original. The reworked collection features new cover artwork and the previously unreleased recording of a cover of Aerosmith’s “Kings and Queens”.

Recommended for fans of Dio, Black Sabbath, and Judas Priest, RivetSkull is well suited for those with a taste for classic metal.

About:
It would be easy to call RivetSkull a traditional heavy metal band, but they’re so much more than that. RivetSkull has taken the very roots of heavy metal and forged it into something new and fresh. Spawned from the same DNA that created the beasts that roamed the dark valleys of Birmingham, the foothills of the Cascades, and the plains of Texas, there’s no denying RivetSkull’s heavy metal heritage. This is hard-hitting music blasted over record store chatter, the buzzing of a tattoo gun, or the revving of a motorcycle engine. But, as any metalhead will tell you, heavy metal is more than just a genre: it’s therapy, it’s community, it’s a style – and it’s a movement. And it’s always evolving.

RivetSkull has created a modern sound that’s as unique as each member’s influences, from punk to country, from alternative to funk. Listening to RivetSkull, it’s easy to envision the band’s live show: Chad McMurray’s clean vocals soaring over a sea of bobbing bodies in black band t-shirts, Mark X. Plog’s boundary-defying guitar ascending over raised beers and outstretched metal horns, Michael Robson’s emphatic drums and Mark Hopkins’ booming bass rattling the bones beneath black jeans and denim vests. Like good metal – you’ll feel it in your core as much as you’ll hear it in your ears. All of this is brought to you by a dedicated and hard-working band of brothers. They are RivetSkull and they’re bringing the past into the future.

Quebec City’s UPON YOUR GRAVE Rise To New Heights With “Transcend” Off “Gold & Decay”

Hailing from Quebec City, Canada, Upon Your Grave are a solid melodic death metal outfit that has a savage new EP coming out this year and a second music video to compliment it. This new video is a lyric video for the song “Transcend”, the final song on the album that rounds out five tracks, which offers a new perspective on the band that has been around since 2009. Vocalist Jordan Jolicoeur is a huge sci-fi geek and that lends to a lot of the lyrical themes on the EP, exemplified on the single. He explains in his own words:

“Transcend talks about a dystopian future where we put our bodies on warranty with cybernetic enhancements and augmented brains. Searching for a way to ascend with technology and bring the next step in evolution. Heavily inspired by Ghost in the Shell and cyberpunk elements, this one might interest listeners who like these aesthetics or know them. It’s a big song that begins with a slap in the face, brutal riffs, and relentless drumming. bringing you in deep waters all along until it lets you breathe with a shredding solo. we really like this one as it is an experience to play it as a band.”

In Upon Your Grave, all the songs are written by guitarist Sim Diamond, who took part in Sam Dunn’s Shredders of Metal season 1 (video) and made it all the way to the semi-finals in Toronto. He was joined by Jolicoeur and guitarist Alex Bussieres and then Sebastien Gagné on drums and Yan Pelletier on bass, two good friends from the local band Scars Of Disgrace, the band had found their perfect lineup to go forward.

Upon Your Grave delivers exactly what metalheads want from a death metal band – exciting fast riffs; steady, thundering drums, well-written lyrics, and an ambiance that is conducive to headbanging, and moshing. After giving this record a spin or two, people are going to be into it and will be demanding more. They are recommended for fans of The Black Dahlia Murder, The Absence, and Decapitated.

About:
Established in 2009, Quebec, Canada-based death metal act, Upon Your Grave, is finally back swinging.

In 2019, at the dawn of the band’s 10th anniversary, Sim Diamond, Alex Bussieres and Jordan Jolicoeur grasped the opportunity given by the lockdown to start writing and rehearsing for a new album. This is their first effort since the Eponym debut album back in 2013. During their time away from Upon Your Grave, each member stayed active by releasing albums with other projects like Vibrant Heels and Universal Minds. Lead guitarist Sim Diamond also got to be part of Sam Dunn’s Shredders of Metal season 1 and made it all the way to the finals in Toronto. Now adding two new members to the mix, Sebastien Gagné on drums and Yan Pelletier on bass, two good friends from the local band Scars Of Disgrace, the band had found their perfect lineup to go forward.

With the help of a successful GoFundMe campaign, the band was able to go record a new EP with Chris Donaldson of Cryptopsy in March of 2022. this collaboration was the perfect fit that would elevate their performances to a more genuine and aggressive sound. Incorporating crushing vocals blended with catchy melodies, bad-ass guitar riffs and memorable solos that remind us of bands such as Daath, Lamb of God, Sylosis and even All Shall Perish.

Gold & Decay proves that work ethic and perseverance can truly refine a band’s sound to what they had always been striving for. This new release will be a fresh start for great things to come and is only the beginning of a flourishing career.

“UPON YOUR GRAVE has a lot of energy to extinguish throughout their debut, it consists of great ideas and musical diversities. The band’s passion for traditional Melodic Death Metal is noticed and felt, yet their combination of Rock and progression really benefited their efforts even more. This one is highly recommended, get ready to bang your heard.” – Metal Temple

“If you can stomach the screams then you’ll find yourself listening to an album from a band who pack plenty of punch. The songs are full of beef, easy to get into, and work well for loosening those neck muscles. Whether this album wins or loses though, rests simply on how much of an assault your eardrums can take.” – V13

“Eponym donne accès à un énorme buffet de epic guitar, solo bien garni, accompagné de rythme franc, de quoi conquérir les fans de: Children of Bodom, In Flames et Trivium.” – Ondes Chocs

NCS Presents New Single “Avarice” Off Féleth’s Upcoming Album “Divine Blight”

Mixed and Mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

Norway’s Féleth has a rockin’ new album coming out this year, and they are premiering their second single “Avarice”. They released their first single “Majesty” recently and considering it is the first track on the album and “Avarice” is the last, they stand as the pillars keeping eight crushing tracks between them. Through their technical metal blended with melodic death metal, they try to invoke a feeling of calculated brutalism, mixed with some grim undertones. The singles they’re releasing are first and foremost an appetizer for what’s to come.

“Avarice” was written by just jamming, which one can easily hear in certain parts where the instruments are chaotic, yet totally in line with each other. A somewhat basic song structure, but with highly aggressive riffs and big atmospheric leads. At the end, they transposed the chorus down half a step turning the song into borderline black metal out of nowhere. Lyrically, we are witnessing the king-like figure from “Majesty”, declaring war on everything and itself. The hook is written in the first person from the view of the general greed and hate that lies in the hearts of men, but grimmer. A song focused more on vocal delivery than epic poetry. Féleth explains the song further:

“When it came to choosing our second single it was a bit more of a hassle. Eventually, it came down to “Avarice”. True to tradition, we wrote one song as a band. Meaning we made it together at a rehearsal. It has a different vibe than most other songs we have. Having shared small bits and pieces with some of our close friends who are also fans, we expect people to be genuinely positively surprised when they hear our evolution from the more old-school approach to melodic death metal. While still holding onto our ‘’sound’’, we’ve gone a bit more technical and focused on better song structures with bigger hooks, taking inspiration from bands such as Shadow of Intent.”

Féleth was formed off remnants from a thrash metal band, which brought in Espen Dagenborg for more extreme vocals. They wanted to go deeper into the more extreme and technical aspects of metal and thus have made it their own.

Féleth’s brand of Northern Norwegian technical death rock is recommended for fans of Shadow of Intent, Archspire, and Fit For An Autopsy.

“Avarice” can be heard via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

The album “Divine Blight” comes out on November 11, 2022.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 9, 2022

TheProgSpace Premiering SEVENTH STATION’s Music Video For “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)”

New Album “Heal the Unhealed” Out November 7th

Seventh Station is a progressive metal band based in Slovenia, who are excited to announce their second album “Heal the Unhealed”. The record is an international effort – rehearsed and recorded through five different studios on three continents ranging from the United States, Slovenia, and Turkey. A new level of musicality and artistic expression blends magnificent sweeps, heavy riffs, and intricate melodies together, creating an eclectic proggy frame for personal topics. The second single is “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)”.

In the album, guitarist Dmitri Alperovich wanted to bring his personal point of view on his roots as a Soviet Union child. Spending his childhood in the Soviet Union, then his youth in Israel, and finally having moved to Slovenia, he went through a lot of different circumstances and the processes of adaptation for each – also resulting in anxiety and panic attacks after all these significant paradigm shifts. “Heal The Unhealed” is a personal reflection on these experiences and the psychological states they brought, voiced through different characters, including the primary actors of the conditions in the Soviet Union. He continues to explain:

“While the album started to take shape as the lyrical content and the general concepts were formed, this song became the first part of the Soviet Union / Stalin trilogy, which later became the main topic of the album. The song describes the poisonous relationship between the former Soviet Union leader, Joseph Stalin, and his second wife Nadezhda Sergeyevna Alliluyeva (Nadia). The official video was shot in Jerusalem, featuring contemporary dance choreography, put together by choreographer Maya Popova and the co-creator Anatoly Shenfeld.”

Having studied classical music and being an avid fan of many other music genres, Alperovich’s idea of Seventh Station emerged from applying the knowledge and techniques from classical music in to progressive metal, creating a platform for him to express his ideas. The result is daring, colourful, and artistic. Seventh Station is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Symphony X, and Opeth.

The music video for “The Heart of a Nation (Nadia)” can be seen and heard via its premiere on TheProgSpace HERE.

The full album “Heal the Unhealed” comes out on November 7, 2022.

About: Seventh Station is a progressive metal band based in Slovenia, led by Israeli Guitarist Dmitri Alperovich and Turkish Keyboardist Eren Başbuğ. Constructing their sound by fusing progressive metal with contemporary classical music, the band’s new album Healed the Unhealed is their second full-length record, released independently. Featuring an international lineup, Davidavi “Vidi” Dolev (Vocals), Jure Lopatic (Bass), and Grega Plamberger (Drums). On their new record, Seventh Station adds to their “on the edge” performances and compositions more blood, more sweat, and more tears.

Formed between the Academy of Music & Dance in Jerusalem and Berklee College of Music in Boston, Seventh Station released its debut album Between Life and Dreams in 2016. After relocating to Europe and a few line-up changes, Alperovich and Başbuğ knew no borders in the search for uncompromising compositions and musical executors, progressive and challenging. After several tours between the Middle East and post-Yugoslavia, the band gathered together on recording ‘Heal the Unhealed’. Inspired by the Second World War and the Soviet Union, the album is an hour-long reflection in the eyes of Alperovich, who was born in Minsk, Belarus, moved to Israel and eventually found his way to Slovenia. Featuring surrealistic epos, harnessing the band’s skillful abilities in order to express Kafkaesque situations, Heal the Unhealed examines resemblances between dictatorships and the personality disorders of an artist.

Seventh Station is now gearing up for their upcoming record Heal the Unhealed released on November 7th, 2022, along with a supporting tour through Europe and the Middle East, to be announced later this Fall.

Montreal, QC – September 9, 2022

Boston’s PISTACIA Channel The Emo Days Of Old With New Metalcore Track “It Was The Cat”

New EP “Edgy” Out October 2022

Boston’s Pistacia is bringing forth a new brand of metalcore with their debut EP “Edgy”. Through personal and poignant lyrics they confront relatable issues set to emotional and powerful music. So far, they have released a handful of singles, and the next one up is “It Was The Cat”, focusing on self-harm. Making music for people who are scared and voiceless is their passion and they are not afraid to get specific about what happens in the mind of the mentally ill. On this single, they offer hope and understanding and a flashback to the days when people used the explanation that “the cat did it” in reference to marks on their arms. The band explains the creation of the single:

“The single began almost accidentally; Ben and Théo were in Florida on tour with their former band, exhausted from the road and performance, and aching to write some new music that would reflect the artistic changes they’d undergone as a result. Ben cracked away at that which he does best: writing filthy hardcore riffs and Théo took initiative to make as poppy a chorus arrangement as possible. Years later, the track was revived and Vic worked her magic, pouring her anguish and rage into finely tuned stanzas that packed punch. They entered a Berklee rehearsal room with sketches, with the makings of a metal banger, and left with the instantiation of their ardor”.

Pistacia formed when vocalist Vic Gregg desired to be on stage instead of behind the merch booth. Fueled by passion and a desire to realize her high school dreams, she learned how to scream and put the lineup together with her classmates. They started as a Pierce the Veil ensemble but later began writing originals. To date, they have released five singles, and are gearing up to release their EP in the fall. They promise that each of the tracks on it are full-fledged bangers that will provoke and challenge the listener.

“It Was The Cat” is heavy in both lyrics and music and boasts sick breakdowns and the most 2007 chorus since MySpace reigned the internet. It’s catchy and will have you dancing regardless of the dark imagery. It is recommended for fans of Pierce the Veil, Slipknot, and Bring Me the Horizon.

About: In late 2019, Vic Gregg founded Gen-Z, an emo-throwback metalcore outfit. Members Ron Bernhaut, Theo Chaouat, Ben Sonsire-Cummings, and Thomson Estabrook complete the aesthetic onslaught that comprises Pistacia’s live show—in the scene’s dearth of energetic performance, the band found their niche, bringing blistering riffs to tight compact venues with pure animus and palpable vitriol. They have a nostalgia-borne affinity for all things emo and maintain a reckless proclivity for gothic imagery and provocative allure. With a marriage between heavy breakdowns, catchy choruses, and pathos-driven lyrics, Pistacia is that edgy, rebellious act you’ve been craving.

Vancouver’s HUNTING GIANTS Ponder Domination And Avarice In “Too Big To Kill”

New Album “Mythos” Out Sept 30th

Photographer Credit – Bradley Trivett

“Mythos” is the second release from Canada’s Hunting Giants following their 2018 EP “Skyward Eyes”. They have upped the ante with this new record, offering bigger riffs, wilder stories, and more layers to entangle listeners. The primary themes in their next single “Too Big To Kill” are domination and avarice, as told through the eyes of a hunter.

The track immediately starts with a riff that brings to mind the thrill of the hunt which is encapsulated by the lyrical repetition of ‘Row’ as our anti-hero cuts through the waves, hot on the trail of his next quarry. As the instruments are hushed, the lyrics speak from the perspective of a man who desires only domination and finds satisfaction in ending the lives of those he hunts. The band continues:

“One of the major singles on the Mythos album, Too Big To Kill is a non-stop adventure with the highs and lows of the raging rapids. This unending momentum builds throughout the song revealing how remorseless yet effective he is at killing until we arrive at the bridge, where the tables are turned and he finds himself fleeing from the beast which he sought to trap. This song is an exploration of those who love violence and the inevitable bloody end which they attract towards themselves.”

For Hunting Giants, their lyrics come from within. They can be inspired by pieces of literature, emotion derived from lived experiences, or ideas which take root within the mind and must be expressed through song. They encapsulate emotion while being entertaining and thought-provoking, giving the lister yet another layer to focus on amidst the riffs and melodies.

“Mythos” is a unique album expressed with a great diversity of energetic auditory textures. Each song hits hard with novel approaches and fresh ideas that will induce a comforting nostalgia in modern rock fans looking for something new and awesome.

Energetic, theatrical, and groovy, Hunting Giants is recommended for fans of Audioslave, Muse, and Tool.

The lyric video “Too Big To Kill” can be seen and heard via its premiere on AllAboutTheRock HERE.

The album “Mythos” is out on September 30, 2022.

Delve Into The Expansiveness Of The Universe With The Spacey Single “Home” From Colorado’s OBSIDIAN SKIES

Debut EP “Saturnian” Out October 2022

Mixed and Mastered by Tom MacLean (ex-Haken, Athemon, Brutta)

While based in Colorado, USA, Obsidian Skies creates music in the sci-fi realm, transporting listeners to grandiose worlds set to epic progressive melodic death metal. The duo of Logan Dougherty (guitars/piano/orchestration) and Tim Watervoort (guitars/basses/vocals) use their backgrounds in physics, astrophysics, composition, and linguistics to elevate the themes, structure, and performance of their music. After working steadily over the past couple of years, they are thrilled to announce their spacey debut EP “Saturnian” (mixed and mastered by Tom MacLean (ex-Haken, Athemon, Brutta)) and the first single “Home”.

“Home” is less of a story, but more of one man’s lament for his former home and the exploration of his emotions. He goes through cycles of culture shock and a longing for a world that is no more. Eventually, he comes to terms with his situation and sees the potential in his new home. Starting with an acoustic guitar, “Home” is lighter than the other tracks on the EP, much of this song feels like one that could be sung around a campfire, thinking of days gone by. When the distorted guitars enter, they serve more to provide foundation than a true featured part to keep with the aesthetic. Harsh vocals are present in this song, but to a much smaller degree than the other two. Harmonically, this song features jazzy major 7th chords to give it a warmer feel. The band comments on the track:

“When we first came up with the concept of this song, we knew we wanted a more intimate, acoustic piece, but we were honestly afraid that it would not turn out at all how we envisioned. When we began writing it, we had two disjointed riffs that we knew we wanted in the song but no real way of transitioning between them. Since the song is so vocally driven, it was difficult to get a grasp of what it would sound like before it was recorded. Hearing the first playthrough of it after recording (but before mixing) was a sigh of relief for both of us as we had actually managed to pull it together. This song definitely “fell into place” more than the other two did.”

The EP follows the story of humankind abandoning Earth for Saturn’s moon Titan. The emotional and physical struggles of leaving our home planet are explored through both the music and the lyrics. Obsidian Skies hopes to take the listener through this journey in a concept album, but they believe the songs are capable of standing on their own as well.

Recommended for fans of anything sci-fi, especially those who enjoy the music of Amon Amarth, Insomnium, and Opeth, the single “Home” can be heard via its premiere in MetalInsider HERE.

The EP “Saturnian” is being released on October 14, 2022.

Multi-Instrumentalist MATT MILLER Unleashes Shred Finesse Video “The Obscurantist”

New Album “Monument of Velocity” Out Now!

Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter Matt Miller side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope. Through his solo project, he has released four cover albums and three original albums the most recent of which is “Monument of Velocity”, which came out this past July. Miller is now presenting a music video for the track “The Obscurantist”, which is an intricate story full of suspense, twists, and turns. He comments on the album:

“With Monument of Velocity, I set out to push my creative limits by not relying on any preconceived notions and let each song unfold as its own entity. Which in turn actually created a stronger continuity between the tracks. By writing the majority of the album without a guitar in hand I was able to think outside the box and come up with more interesting melodies and more dynamic rhythms. This process allowed me to achieve a greater level of melodicism and generate a stronger emotional response.”

Miller started his solo project during the Covid lockdown as he wanted to release all the music he had written and wasn’t being played in the projects he was currently in. With “Monument of Velocity” he knew he wanted to make another instrumental album but also wanted to create something that pushed musical limits and was still fun to listen to. Along with the most recent release he has released a cover album this year and plans on releasing a tech death album with his new project Chasm of Discord and a re-recording of my first instrumental EP “MMXVII”.

A wide variety of influences can be heard throughout Matt Miller’s music, and it is recommended for fans of Necrophagist, Obscura, and Dragon Force.

The video for “The Obscurantist” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/5PJQpqLZSz4

About:
Akademia-Award-winning producer, engineer, and songwriter MATT MILLER side-steps these industry achievements to embark on something deeply introspective and personal; a transcendent, reactionary and vile personage embodying soaring progressive melodies and captivating crushing rhythms which engulf the listener in black clouds of desperation and shimmering hope.

Drawing upon the gut-wrenching timed-precision of European death metal stalwarts NECROPHAGIST and SPAWN OF POSSESSION, MATT MILLER progressively blends this approach with deep synthetic and symphonic atmospheres like that of DEVIN TOWNSEND, often arriving at surprisingly emotive and heart-clenching metallic passages like that of RIVERS OF NIHIL.

Calling upon other single-member death metal projects such as PUTRID PILE or INSIDIOUS DECREPANCY, the live performance can best be described as a reclaiming and repainting of the earth by a relentlessly sweeping and deranged berzerker appealing to the vast minions of the extreme music. The combination of elements within MATT MILLER distills the traditions of the international metal realm, the progressive atmospheres of modernity, and reactions to a vile world into a single unrelenting persona of despair and vengeance.

MATT MILLER’s first self-produced instrumental EP came in 2017, drawing on influences from classic metal bands such as MEGADETH and IRON MAIDEN to shredders like YNGWIE MALMSTEEN and PAUL GILBERT, while combining a technical death metal approach to create a maximum intensity music with a frenetic and frantic feel and ferocious atmosphere. Since then, and a few releases into this brief career, MATT MILLER boasts 12,000 consistent monthly listeners on Spotify before hitting the international touring circuit. This was garnered from his 2017 EP, the 2021 self-released ‘Decrepit Shed’ LP, the ‘Reekomposer/Decomposer’ covers double LP, as well as the ‘8E’s’ 1980’s themed covers LP.

In 2022 Matt released the formidable original instrumental LP Monument of Velocity on Blood Blast Distribution. Matt also toured supporting Rings of Saturn on the CYBER SHRED TOUR 2022. 29 shows encompassing the continental United States. Matt has released the cover LP Only What the Light Allows through Blood Blast Distribution as well.

Matt Miller hails from the rain soaked northern Oregon Coast; influenced by the natural foreboding environment. Moving into the present, MATT MILLER has joined up with Extreme Management Group to spread a singularly relentless auditory mind-bend.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 1, 2022

Italian proggers EVEN FLOW announce they will be releasing their latest EP “Mediterraneo” this coming October 2022. The EP follows their three EPs “Dream Weaver” (2008), “Mother” (2019), and “Flower Paths” (2013), and two albums “Life Has Just Begun” (2017) and “Ancient Memories (2011).

“Mediterreano” sees the band approaching the record with progressive metal in the rhythm with vocal lines oriented towards power metal with AOR eighties influences. Lyrically, the EP speaks of love, hope, sadness, and joy for the future. Guitarist Pietro Paolo Lunesu explains the record in further detail:

“The five songs that make up Mediterraneo are gloriously uplifting anthems that draw you from your world of cares and worries into an exhilarating musical realm of dreams. The songs are concise and finely honed, yet seem to contain an ever-expanding universe to explore within their duration. For example, the title track, ‘Mediterraneo’, is perhaps the EPs crowning glory, building through multiple layers, each more captivating than the last, but in truth every note from the first bombastic chords that usher in opener ‘Ocean Lies’ to the final spiraling guitar solo of ‘Mediterraneo’ is sheer melodic, progressive metal perfection.”

The EP was immaculately mixed and mastered by Michele Guaitoli (Visions Of Atlantis, Temperance) with spectacular artwork by Mickael Briot of Mythrid Art (Nightmare).

“Mediterraneo” also features Even Flow‘s new lineup with vocalist Marco Pastorino (Fallen Sanctuary, Temperance) and bassist Luca Negro (Temperance) joining the Lunesu brothers Pietro Paolo (guitar) and Giorgio (drums).

The band has released their music video for the EP’s opening track “Ocean Lies”, which was the first song written for the record.

“I thought of opening the EP ”Mediterraneo” with Ocean Lies because I considered it the most powerful, but at the same time with a great musical balance characterized by a softer part and a part a bit Latin in the guitar solo section. Lyrically, the song represents at times, the desolation of the world, but at the same time thinking optimistically for the future.” adds Pietro.

The music video for “Ocean Lies” can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/CL7p2lvkM58

Over the years, since making their debut in 2008 with their EP “Dream Weaver”, Even Flow has done multiple tours across Europe and has supported bands such as Serious Black, Firewind, Eluveitie, Iron Savior, Katatonia, Orphaned Land, Katatonia, Pain Of Salvation among many more.

Due out on October 3rd, “Mediterraneo” is the next majestic level of achievement for Even Flow and is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Fates Warning, Stratovarius, Angra, and Queensryche.

Montreal’s ETERNAL CLOSURE Presents Lyric Video “Dimensions Apart”

New Album “At the Center of It All – Chapter I” Out Sept 2022 – Produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

L-R : Marine Lacarrière (guitar), Phil Lemelin (guitar), Olivier Boitel (guitar, back vocals), Katrine Castonguay (main vocals), Philippe Boitel (drums), Jonathan Lauzon (bass, back vocals)

Montreal’s Eternal Closure have a new album coming out in September and the third single they have ready for fans is “Dimensions Apart” in the form of a lyric video. Since their conception ten years ago, they have been constantly evolving – what started as a metalcore cover band has become a proggy, djenty powerhouse with deep gutturals, piercing cleans, and three guitarists that pummel the listener from all sides. The single is the first time the band utilizes 7-string guitars, lending to extra thickness and variety. Main songwriter and guitarist Olivier Boitel details the track:

“This one was mainly written by bassist Jonathan Lauzon, but had a bit of a different structure initially. It’s more-or-less the sequel to a song from our album “Screaming In Silence” called “Wake Up Dead”. It was also mixed with ideas he had for other songs that were never used. It’s a pretty straightforward banger, with me showcasing my grittier singing. I wrote and recorded the drums which was a lot of fun. Lyrically, it’s about the disconnect between generations that was created in part by technology.”

When it comes to Eternal Closure’s lyrics, Boitel speaks from the heart; they come from a personal place and are rarely about a fictionalized character. Compared to their other albums, there is less storytelling on “At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I”, it is all about how Boitel thinks and feels about different subjects. Presented in two parts, it’s not quite a concept album, but many lyrics and musical ideas are re-used throughout.

With the new addition of vocalist Katrine Castonguay, Eternal Closure is confident they will stand out, with a meaner sound that offers a satisfying listening experience for a wide range of metalheads not just those into core. They boast no filler, just six solid, headbanging tracks. They are recommended listening for fans of Currents, Trivium, and Periphery.

“Dimensions Apart” can be seen and heard via its premiere on NewFuryMedia HERE.

The full album “At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I” comes out on September 23, 2022.
