Ottawa, ON video game rock nerds DOUBLE EXPERIENCE has teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for the premiere of the latest track ‘Here’s Y’ from their forthcoming album ‘721835′ recorded by fellow science-fiction aficionado Al Jacob (He is Legend, A Skylit Drive) in North Carolina.

In additional news, DE recently wrapped up their ‘Rated M For MaTour’ that included a showcase at this year’s Canadian Music Week to add their 500+ shows and collection of over 100,000 miles during their multiple past tours across Canada, the UK, and the States. Taking no time to hit the road again, the band is going South to the USA for their ‘Smells Like Freedom Tour’ this June, which includes performances at Pegasus Records Store in Florence, AL and video game stores Game Over in Houston, TX and Austin, TX.

“Though this won’t be our first time touring in the USA, each show we booked was in a city or state we have never played before. We’ve already compiled another list of dream locations to visit based on the Food Network, too.” comments bassist Tim Kealey.

August 1st will see the release of their new album ‘721835′, a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Showcasing a creative sound influenced by geeky comic books, trading cards, classic 8 bits games to today’s future 3D experiences, the album follows up their 2011 EP ‘One Big Quicksand’ recorded and produced by Jayson DeZuzio (Coheed and Cambria, My Chemical Romance) that was released via Blue Sapphire/Universal Music Canada.

Ninjaspy arose with the dawn of the year of six, embodied by the Triad in Blood: Vocalist/Guitarist Joel Parent, Drummer Adam Parent and Bassist Tim Parent. Rising above the mire of their faceless six year muse, they have focused their sights on the mission objectives now at hand: Swift, surgical amalgamation of a spectrum of styles and the subsequent eradication of narrow mindedness. Winnipeg, MB prairie rapper Abstract Artform has posted a new lyric video for ‘The Hitchhiker’ feat. Dan Frechette and D-Sisive. The track is from his recently released remix album ‘CROWS:’, which is a collaboration with beatmaker Oscar “Mumbles” Folundin and DJ Björn Friberg (Co-Pilot) remixing tracks from last year’s release ‘As The Crow Flies’.

In March of 2014 three-piece hip-hop/blues/folk-constellation Crows: released their debut album called “Remixes, Reboots and Alternative Versions”. “Remixes…” started out as just what it sounds like; a remix album. Using a microphone, a loop-pedal and one 15-watt amplifier Mumbles put together rough remixes of tracks lifted off his friend, Winnipeg prairie-rapper Abstract Artform’s album “As the Crow Flies”. One of Canada’s most cult followed indie metal sites Ondes Chocs has posted new live video and interview with wreck ‘n roll band Trainwreck Architect for their JamSpace Series. The video includes a performance of ‘The Door Slams Shut’ off the band’s latest album ‘Traits of The Sick’ along with a new track ‘Midnight Bitch’.

The band released a new music video ‘Dream Pariah’ in support of their debut album ‘Traits of The Sick’ released during November 2013. The albumwas mastered by Jeff Waters of Annihilator, whom also makes a guest appearance with a guitar solo on the track ‘As Killers Breathe’. Featuring an eclectic mix of thrash, classic metal and rock, the album deals with the idea of humans being human and never willing to be completely satisfied, the debutis now available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Amazon and all other major online retailers.

The video is inspired by the dramatic story of a man, approaching the end of his life and trying something new! (hint, hint, breaking bad!)

Montreal, QC’s The Rising Few are proud to announce the official release of their debut album ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’, out this week on Tuesday, March 25th (iTunes). The album is a tribute to the city that has given so much to vocalist Karim Terouz, a professional illustrator whom left his hometown of Cairo, Egypt to embrace the blistering Canadian winters and the lively music scene that Montreal is internationally known for.

”Finally a songbook to reflect that scene we got here in Montreal, an album that honestly and sincerely depicts the sultry colours of Monty by night…and the morning after! To be able to catalogue my time and experience coming here, to engage the youth with an emancipation in songwriting is more than the life I wanted for myself, I am finally comfortable and it all starts with this album.” says Terouz.

Accompanying Terouz in his true passion of music are Hubert Tremblay (Guitars) and Andrew Sudlow (Bass) whom he met when he first started visiting every open mic night imaginable in the city. He was then later joined by Isaac Gesse (Trumpet) and Harvey Bienaime (Drums) to complete The Rising Few and create a fusion of folk, blues, rock and pop that the band showcases with its influences from Cat Stevens, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Springsteen, as well as Terouz’s Egyptian heritage with the band’s R&B / soul inspirations.

Performing over 30 live shows since first beginning on the scene and a first place win at the LME showcase competition (http://www.landmarkevents.net) in which the band beat out 200+ others for top honours. The Rising Few is excited to indulge music fans in some “punchy Montreal soul” with this debut produced by the great Glen Robinson known for his mixing and mastering credits on projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Grim Skunk, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career.

Two years in the making, Montreal, QC’s MIRE are proud to announce the official release of their new album ‘Inward/Outward’ out this week on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP.

Based on the band’s personal experiences ranging from the study of cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan, MIRE‘s 10 tracks marry a sonic wall of loud heavy yet strong melodic progressive rock metal that is winning fans and media over with comparisons of being named heirs to the Tool throne (media reviews below).

“Interpreted through our fingers, tongued and toe tips, this album which we’ve been working on for 2 years at totally different points in our lives, demonstrates the fan of emotions of 5 individuals’ experience. The craft is the loom into which our soil-tending, sun-vising and pest-warding efforts bear fruit. Love for the fate of man and the anger to defend it. Montreal’s Dark Century Announce New Release ‘Murder Motel’ Out April 18th; New Music Video ‘Kill The Crowd’

Kill The Crowd! Kill The Crowd! Kill The Crowd! is the constant chant you get from fans when Montreal’s aggressive, hilarious, heavy and bloody five-piece Dark Century take the stage and inject a party of trans fat, bacon and moshing fun times (see live video of bacon throwing). No wonder the band was one of the two finalists at the En Route To Heavy MTL Battle of the Bands in 2012, winning their spot to play on Canada’s largest metal fest along with sharing the stage over the years with such established acts as Aborted, Misery Index, Quo Vadis, Anonymus, Rose Funeral, Exhumed, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Goatwhore, Origin, The Faceless, Battlecross, Erimha, Fuck The Facts to name a few.

Welding death, thrash, grind and hardcore, Dark Century returns in 2014 with their sophomore album ‘Murder Motel’ to follow up 2009’s debut ‘Days of The Mosh’. Produced by one of Montreal’s most respected metal producers Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, Mythosis, Erimha, The Agonist, Derelict, Neuraxis), ‘Murder Motel’ is 11 tracks of fury that attacks with vicious lyrics in both English and French, heavy speed demon guitars, pummelling drums accompanying by pounding bass force and ear grind wrenching screams.

“This CD is for the moshers; it grooves, it’s alive and it’s breathing bacon-breath in your face. The writing process for MURDER MOTEL was extensive and well thought-out, but this time we feel we’ve been able to spit out way more of what this band is all about. We are energy, violence and humour incarnate. So it’s right there, guitar solos now included!! Delivered in one package for the world to munch on cholesterol-filled foods while they listen to it.

Some previous subjects are revisited just as much as some new short stories have risen to give fresher flavors to our greasy art.
