Cinematic Prog Alizarin Premiere Single ‘Velvet Margin’ via Metal-Rules

New Album “The Last Semblance” Out July 10, 2020

Cinematic rock metallers Alizarin announce they will be releasing their sophomore album “The Last Semblance” on July 10, 2020and are excited to share the full length’s second single ‘Velvet Margin’. The track is very vocally driven with many harmonies throughout with plenty of piano and acoustic guitar sections.

Today, the band has teamed up with Metal-Rules for the premiere of ‘Velvet Margin’ HERE.

Vocalist/guitarist Josh Kay explains the track in further detail:

“This second single, “Velvet Margin”, is a drastic contrast from most of the other tracks on the new record. Driven by haunting vocal lines, expressive counter harmonies, and layered acoustic instrumentation, the song arguably contains some of the most melodic and memorable passages on the album. In many ways it is some of the most uncharted territories for Alizarin, letting the vocals drive a lot of the music and focusing even less on flashy or over the top instrumentation. The closest thing to a “ballad” we have, although we tend to steer clear of that term.”

Born out of the forward-thinking inclinations of guitarist/vocalist Josh Kay in late 2017, Alizarin is on a mission to explore unconventional rock music. In addition to Kay, the Los Angeles based group consists of Jon Damon on drums, Terran Fernandez on bass guitar, and Avelino Ramirez on keyboard.

Alizarin released their first full-length album, titled “Cast Zenith”, in 2018 and is preparing to release their new album “The Last Semblance” in summer 2020. Unlike their strictly instrumental debut record, this follow up release features prominent vocals throughout. Rich harmonies and baritone resonance from Kay’s voice add a new dimension to the music, allowing the band’s sound to expand to truly uncharted territory.

“The Last Semblance” covers a wide spectrum of sonic landscapes and emphasizes the melodic journey over deliberate technique. Although Kay is the chief songwriter of Alizarin, the compositions on the new record focus on a balance of each instrument, with less of an emphasis on the domination of guitar solos and a greater exploration of what each musician is capable of. The album draws influence from such groups as Porcupine Tree, Haken, Alice in Chains, Opeth, Portishead, and many more. The results are a sound that is challenging to define, pensive, and often at the crossroads of melody and dissonance.

Kay adds:

“The album is a work of cinematic progressive metal, centered around brooding melodies and wrapped in epic compositions. There are influences from many styles of music, many beyond metal as well. The music is very melody-driven, with technical aspects in moderation woven into the larger song structures. The chords, melodies, and arrangements are meant to be unpredictable, unconventional and compelling, while remaining extremely listenable and catchy.“

Album pre-order HERE along with an immediate download of singles ‘Velvet Margin’ and ‘Elegy Simulacra’ plus their previous release “Cast Zenith” available on Spotify and iTunes.

DEMISE OF THE CROWN Premiere Full Stream of New Album “Life In The City” via Metal Injection

New Album “Life In The City” Out April 24, 2020

Brandish your weapons and bare your teeth in the battle for new world order with Montreal’s metal quintet, Demise Of The Crown. Running the gambit from heavy metal to hard rock weaved together with soaring solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen, the Montreal band will be dropping their new album “Life In The City” on April 24th and before its official release, they have teamed up with MetalInjection for the exclusive full stream HERE.

The band’s music, written by guitarist Manuel Iradian and vocalist Darren Beadman, uses standard pop music songwriting skills to hook listeners into the Demise of the Crown’s irresistible and melodic metal sound. Iradian writes all the music, then hands it off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death, and revenge.

Each member has spent their time paying dues in the Montreal metal scene and they have banded together with the same goal and vision of a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal. The current lineup of Beadman (vocals), Iradian (guitars), Kevin Alexander (drums), Simon Doiron (bass) and Vince Doiron (guitar) has been going strong over the years playing a plethora of gigs in their area and releasing their debut self-titled record in 2016.

Demise of the Crown has garnered a reputation for redefining modern metal with a sound that is a melting pot of styles, including the occasional influences of death metal, components of hard rock, groovy riffs and catchy choruses alongside explosive guitar solos topped off with Beadman’s striking vocal techniques and unique tone.

Influenced by headliners like Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, and Faith No More, the band is working their way up the royal bloodline to cause chaos right alongside their heroes.

Demise of The Crown‘s new album “Life In The City” will be available April 24, 2020, current singles ‘Dying Heat’, ‘My Mind Is Free’ and ‘Fixated’ can be streamed on Spotify along with videos on YouTube (links below).

“The track kicks into high gear right away with some intense riffing before quickly transitioning into a more melodic and calming verse which has a nice contrast to the heaviness of the rest of the song. Fast and heavy, yet harmonic and well-composed, “Dying Heat” is sure to get the crowd simultaneously moshing and singing along.” – GearGods

“This is a banger. Let’s get that clear from the start. Demise of the Crown delivering a god-damn energetic and memorable metal album that really does walk the line between genius and madness. From keeping it fairly straight-forward and heavy with opener Dying Heat to the wild and hyper rock riffing and savage moments of the self titled finale. It’s a very enjoyable listen.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Life In The City”, Modern Meets Classic Metal “Canada’s DEMISE OF THE CROWN is a perfect combination of Modern and Classic European Metal, somehow they bridge the gap of decades of Metal to come up with a sound that any Metal fan will appreciate.” – Rock Reloaded Radio

“Everything about Life In The City builds on the foundations laid by the self-titled debut. So, whilst being clearly very much the same band, Life In The City becomes Demise of the Crown +…. Beadman truly has all the tools to become one of heavy metal’s key vocalists moving forward. An explosive mix of Ripper Owens, Russell Allen and Archon Angel‘s Zachary Stevens, there appears to be literally nothing in the world of heavy metal vocalising that lies beyond his impressive grasp… This really is a band on the up-and-up, and they deserve your patronage.” – Sentinel Daily

““Dying Heat,”kicks off proceedings with a battering ram of a riff. From there it works its way around, slowly slamming the breaks and getting into breakdown territory. As things go from there, the vocals come in and haunt the living daylights out of the listener. ” – The Median Man

Guitar Shredder MATT CHANWAY Shares Playthrough Video For Single ‘The Beyond’

A finalist of Guitar Idol, the world’s foremost guitar competition showcasing the top emerging players on the planet along with holding a fellowship in music performance from the University of West London, instrumental guitar shredder Matt Chanway returns with his new single ‘The Beyond’, which is one of four planned tracks to be released in the second half of 2019. As a Canadian guitarist, instructor, and session musician from Vancouver BC, Chanway’s single ‘The Beyond’ follows his critically acclaimed debut self-titled album released in 2016.

Chanway’s playing is inspired by a combination of the old and new school, with rock guitar players from the ’80s, modern progressive “shredders” such as Dan Mongrain and Jeff Loomis, as well as 70’s jazz-rock musicians John Mahavishnu and Al Di Meola. Fans of challenging, progressive, intense instrumental music artists such as Alluvial, Tony Macalpine, Martyr, Vitalism will enjoy Chanway’s music.

Chanway adds:

“Unlike my debut album that was a compilation of material written from 2008-2016, ‘The Beyond’ is the first of brand new instrumental music I have written from scratch. I chose the simple track title both as a representation of music, which pushes beyond my previous creative boundaries and of my own transformation in the past year from an aspiring shred guitar player to a full-time pro musician.”

Listen and watch to ‘The Beyond’ at the following link: https://youtu.be/iPqWB64OjVM

The single is also available on Bandcamp, Spotify, Apple Music.

“This is not an album just for shredders, it’s for anyone who wants an album of great metal that will get your head banging and wear your air guitar out.” – The Ripple  Effect

“Burstfire solos, frantic time signatures, complicated riffing and the like are all signposts of an artist who wants to see how far he can go. Unsurprisingly, this ambition pays off. The release could stand on its own as proof that Matt could play alongside the world’s greatest in shred guitar.” – Prog Sphere Magazine, February 2017

GearGods Premiere Guitar Shredder Matt Chanway Playthrough Video “The Receiver of Wisdom”

Debut Self-Titled Album Out Now!

Guitar virtuoso Matt Chanway has made a name for himself with well-regarded Canadian death/thrash metal band Assimilation.

Last December, Chanway unleashed his self-titled solo debut album: a sonic masterpiece that merges the old and new school. Razor sharp riffs meld with soaring solos; progression with power. Inspired by the likes of George Lynch and Jeff Loomis, Chanway (who has a diploma in guitar performance from the University of West London) is the ideal guitar hero for the 21st century.

Describing his sound as “melodic, relentless, energetic progressive metal” and influenced by the likes of Nevermore, Circus Maximus, Tony Macalpine, Aghora and Revocation, Chanway explains that “initially this music was written for a progressive metal project called Chancellor in 2011. After leaving that band, I gradually morphed the tracks into instrumental tunes.”

Chanway reveals his writing process is always honest and organic. “I write all of the guitar parts, generally starting from one theme or motif and just continually building upon it, to create a flowing cohesive piece. Never forcing or rushing anything for the sake of releasing new music. The guitar themes are authentic; the riffs are catchy and addictive.”

Teaming up with GearGods.net, Chanway demonstrates his shredding skills with his new playthrough for his track “The Receiver of Wisdom” at the following link: http://geargods.net/playthrough/matt-chanway-the-receiver-of-wisdom-guitar-playthrough/

Chanway also states that this is also no studio project and is looking forward to playing his album live, promising “a very authentic recreation of some very challenging music, of course instrumental music is always a different ballgame in a live context. People tend to hone in on the guitar a lot more, and the unique voice it can bring as the band leader!”

Chanway is preparing to enter the studio with a brand new line-up to record his follow up EP set for release in early 2018.

Track Listing:
1. Evidence of the Arcane (6:22) (instrumental)
2. The Receiver of Wisdom (6:58) (instrumental)
3. Harbinger 2.1 (8:24) (instrumental)
4. 271114 (6:48) (instrumental)
5. Eyes In The Sky (5:48) (instrumental)

About:
DEMISE OF THE CROWN
run the gambit from melodic power metal to hard rock weaved together with soaring solos reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen with undertones of Yngwie Malmsteen. The band’s sound has developed from progressive to a heavy metal band that has a pop format structure to the music in order to lure people into the realm of metal. Through many years of playing music with different people in the Montreal scene and slowly forming the official line up in 2014. Each member have spent their time paying dues in the local community and have banded together with the same goal and vision for a band determined to shake the foundation of power metal.

Guitarist, Manuel Iradian writes all the music, then handed off to Kevin “Kevy Metal” (drummer) to dress up each song with his high-speed, galloping rhythms, finally, Darren Beadman crafts the anthemic lyrics rousing crowds to chant along with an anarchistic frenzy. Each song is rooted in all basic human emotions; anger, lust, depression, happiness, death and revenge.

Influenced by headliners like Nevermore, Avenged Sevenfold, Opeth, Pantera, and Faith No More, the band is working their way up the royal blood line to cause chaos right alongside their heroes. They have performed with iconic bands like Hellyeah, Devin Townsend Project, 3 Inches Of Blood, Katatonia and Firewind.
