Listen up! You want mosh happy crossover-thrash from another planet? Fast riffs? Rippin’ solos? Then stop giving a fuck what other people think and prepare for some neck aerobics from Montreal, QC’s MUTANK!

Formed when three Newfoundlanders crossed paths in the Canadian heavy metal capital with Ahmed Saad who hails from the Middle East, the injection of music immediately began to flow through their veins and M.E.C.H. metal was soon born.

“It stands for Middle East Coast Heavy Metal; Our drummer being from the Middle East and the rest of the members being from the east coast of Canada,” explains Stephen Reynolds (bass, vocals).

It also just so happens to be the title of the band’s debut album ‘M.E.C.H. Metal’, which features eight monumental thrash tracks that will either make you want to punch something or just plain dance while delivering thoughtful, honest lyrics for those who wish to look deeper.

“Every single person in this band is a songwriter, so the songs come out with their own feel and develop naturally.’ continues Reynolds. ‘We don’t shackle ourselves to any kind of focused idea, which brings about a sort of honesty in the music not often found in metal.’

After a busy summer releasing their debut full length “721835”on August 1, 2014 plus touring the USA, the United Kingdom (tour recap on PureGrainAudio.com here) and an upcoming opening slot for He His Legend in Kingston, ON November 17th. Ottawa, ON neo-rock nerdsDouble Experience will be touring intimate Ontario venues for their “Night of the Living Room” Tour, which will feature the band literally redecorating and furnishing the venues and stages with comforts from home, including their collection of video games with a TV; perfect for challenging fans to win some prizes in-between sets.

“It was great to finally be home after all the travelling we did, but every musician out there can relate to that constant need to tour,” says Brock Tinsley, guitarist. “We figured there had to be some way to combine the comforts of both.”

Double Experience has also began work on their still-untitled follow up, and will be entering the studio after Christmas.

Over the last few years, the Ottawa, ON based rock nerds have toured across Canada six times, twice in the UK and the States, performing 500+ shows over 100,000 miles and sharing the stage with such acts as Silverstein, Hawthorne Heights, Every Time I Die, Dead and Divine, Lifestory:Monologue to name a few. Their new album ‘721835’ is a curious collection of songs that are inspired by everything the band loves and considers nerdy. Winnipeg, MB death doom metal band Psychotic Gardening has unleashed a very dark music video for one of their doom-iest tracks ‘Searing Cital’ from their latest album ‘Hymnosis’, which the band is touring Ontario and Quebec in support of from August 14th to August 24th.

Guitarist Andrew Wiens comments:

“This video came together spontaneously – we came across this really creepy scene on our way out to Farmageddon in Alberta earlier this year. There were these dead trees decorated with skulls, it was a just this strange place in a farmer’s field. It was seemingly there to worship death. I had to get out with my camera to shoot as much of it as possible. We felt like we were pushing to get anything at all and that a crazy murderous freak would come out at any moment to add our own skulls to the trees. We ended up shooting a storyline that tells the story of what we saw there and what it could mean. And of course we did it to the doom-iest of all the songs on the new album, Searing Cital.”

As interests in history, paganism and folklore took an increasingly strong hold on folk metallers PROTOKULT, the band was inspired to unleash its debut album, Ancestral Anthems.
