NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 11, 2026

Speed Demons TURBO Are Crossing The Atlantic For First “Canadian Invasion Euro Tour” (CZ, SK, HU, PL, DE)

Canadian speed demons TURBO announce they will be trekking across the Atlantic this coming October for their first-ever EU tour. Entitled the “Canadian Invasion Euro Tour”, the quartet will perform dates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Poland and Germany (dates listed below).

Since their formation, these Halifax, NS-based nitro rock hellraisers have been road warriors, always on the go across Eastern Canada, from the Maritimes to Quebec and Ontario, and have even toured Mexico, crisscrossing from venue to venue, to house parties, to playing open fields, to a tequila-drenched taco spot, all for the love of the music.

They unleashed their latest album “Broke & Ugly” in July 2024 and are in the works to release their follow-up album later this year in 2026.

Their second full‑length album, “Broke & Ugly,” is a raw, high‑energy snapshot of the band’s real‑life chaos, blending aggressive riffs, tight musicianship, and lyrics fueled by partying, heartbreak, road‑life exhaustion, and unapologetic self‑reflection. Standout tracks range from the heavy, triumphant “Ruthless Forever” to the beer‑soaked anthem “Ignite the Night,” the breakup‑driven “No Savior,” and the punk‑edged “Scorpio Garbage Fire.” The album slows only briefly with “Nothing to Nowhere” before roaring back with the snarky title track and the thrashy tour‑inspired closer “Down in Mexico.” It’s gritty, honest, and unmistakably Turbo.

As they prepare to tour Europe, they are sure to win over fans who enjoy the likes of Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Municipal Waste, and Airbourne.

“Broke and Ugly”, released on July 12th, 2024, is available at https://turboasfvck.bandcamp.com/

“The cartoon-ish cover art with toxic green/red colors could bring more smiles to the fold – Turbo executing a great crossover sound that stands on the edge of thrash, punk and NWOBHM/heavy metal. Broke & Ugly could be your soundtrack when needing an ideal wind down from your back breaking, seemingly never over work week. 8.5/10” – Dead Rhetoric

“Turbo are fast, they’re crass, and they’re here to kick your ass… As a whole, “Broke & Ugly” is peak speed and thrash metal with a party-hard overtone. But I think the comparison to Motörhead is a little heavy-handed. After listening to the gem of East Coast Canadian metal, I’m fired up to see what Turbo does next. 9/10″ – Metal Temple

“This rocks a lot. The vocalist’s gritty approach delivers surprisingly catchy and memorable vocal melodies, and the occasional backing vocals are often reminiscent of mid-80s “party” metal, very upbeat and singalong-inducing. The guitar work has everything people like in old heavy metal, a rather raw style filled with cool solos and riffs that stick in your head long after they’re over. You’d tell me this was released more than 40 years ago and I would believe you. A fun time from beginning to end. 4/5″ – The Metal Crypt

“”Broke & Ugly” may have been a little tight in terms of playing time, but with the incredible hit rate of one hundred percent, you can forgive that. When punk and thrash still spoke a language, the whole thing sounded like this album. The fact that a band would ever come close to OVERKILL in terms of sound technology says more than enough! Yes! Noisy thrash, melodic punk, classic setup – what a great record! 9/10.” – Power-Metal.de

“entertaining, refreshingly lively, dynamic, far too good to be bad. Massively punching Kick Ass- Heavy Metal n’ Rock n’ Roll on all sides, which hits the eye in a straight line, brutally, snotty, until it hits the chest, where it hurts. Snots, tubes, rocks and rolls straight to the limit! 8/10” – FFM-Rock

“the band is insanely tight, with Frizzle and fellow six stringer Lindsey Dicks really giving it some violence riff wise and soloing like their lives depended on it. Similarly, the rhythm section of Sylvain Coderre (d) and Henry MacDonald take no prisoners and submit to no-one in their ability to hold things together at high velocity. Very impressive. As we get deeper into the twenty first century, bands are running out of ways to repackage, remake and remodel, so the freshness with which Turbo approach the task in hand has to be applauded. This is fun to listen to – and it certainly sounds like the band had fun getting the album down, and sometimes a bit of joie de vivre is all any of us need. But when you are able to mix that in with a killer technique and a sharp ear for a metal tune well, good times await!” – Sentinel Daily

“Canada’s Turbo label their music Nitro-Rock; On the evidence of the submitted album, Broke & Ugly, it would seem that Nitro rock is in fact an almighty mashup of styles, all rendered at high speed and with little regard for personal danger (in my day we used to call that Crossover-Ed). If that description excites you, then the album is going to send you into paroxysms of joy…” – Sentinel Daily

“Turbo’s second full length album is the equivalent of getting into a newly juiced up hotrod, the roof reeled back in, as you’re flooring it down the highway until your smoke trails combust. From start to finish, Turbo live up to their name in droves and then some with energy that cannot be denied and a plethora of tracks that offer much to be remembered. Though boasting a full nine tracks, Broke & Ugly doesn’t even eclipse a full half hour and therefore opens itself up for numerous relistens. It starts up, gets you in the mood to kick some butt, yet doesn’t attempt to overstay its welcome to any degree. For me personally, this style of speed metal can be a vast hit or miss but I thoroughly enjoyed my time with this record, and during its duration I was brought on board with Turbo’s infectious power. Furthermore, I’d wish to visit their first record, and am excited to see what they do for a third, prospective release; I merely hope it’s not another four years because this is really good, fun material that anyone can get behind. A refreshing break from crushing, defeating extreme metal is sometimes needed, and Turbo are one fine cocktail.” – The Razor’s Edge

“Turbo is a band that gives me associations to two very different bands and the earlier stages of both of those bands output, and that is Turbonegro and Iron Maiden respectively. If you can imagine the early death punk of the former combined with certain aspects of the Di’Anno era of the latter combined into a whole, you probably won’t be too far off from the kind of landscapes explored by Canadians Turbo. And chances are good that you’ll find this tight and uptempo album to be a rewarding experience if that description comes across as tantalizing.” – The Viking in the Wilderness

“this album is just the perfect encapsulation of fun” – Brutally Delicious

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 5, 2026

Montreal’s OMBRA Detonate Cinematic Thrash Fury w/ “Hysteria” Off Debut EP “Night Terror” Out Sept 2026

Rising metal trio OMBRA will release their debut EP, “Night Terror,” on September 14th, 2026, delivering a raw, conceptual, front‑to‑back exploration of fear, control, and the darker corners of the human psyche. The band has also unveiled the EP’s first single, “Hysteria,” which features explosive energy, fusing cinematic atmosphere, thrash‑driven aggression, and unapologetic lyrical honesty. The track confronts themes of government control, media influence, and societal panic, setting the stage for the EP’s descent into obsession, chemical collapse, and full mental freefall.

“Hysteria” was initially mixed by JF Dagenais (Kataklysm), adding an extra layer of intensity to the band’s already powerful sound.

Listen to “Hysteria” at the following links:

YouTube – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7mDZ-4uXrY

Spotify – https://open.spotify.com/track/408K5TQAOB9ZRHnJKzxC4t

Formed by lifelong friends Giuseppe “G” Criniti (vocals/guitar), Marco Sisti (guitar/bass), and Nico‑Angelo Sisti (drums), OMBRA emerged in late 2020 after G and Marco departed their previous hard‑rock/progressive project NRTH to pursue a heavier, more aggressive sound. Nico, Marco’s cousin and a well‑known drummer in the Montreal scene, joined shortly after leaving Hidden Pride. With all three members having grown up together in Lachine, the band’s formation felt natural, inevitable, and rooted in decades of shared history.

Written between 2021 and 2026, OMBRA’s debut record “Night Terror” channels the band’s lived experiences and observations of a world defined by upheaval, media distortion, obsession, chemical escape, and psychological unraveling. Designed as a continuous front‑to‑back journey, the EP builds toward the intense emotional peak of its title track. Across its five songs, “Night Terror” traces a rising arc of mental tension. Opening track “Hysteria” confronts societal panic and media‑driven chaos; “Stitches” plunges into obsession and the painful pursuit of transformation; “Blue Dream” captures chemical escapism collapsing into paranoia and possession; “Night Terror” delivers a visceral mental freefall where everything goes wrong; and “So It Goes” closes the experience with an instrumental moment of acceptance, peace, and forward motion.

“Our goal was to create something honest. The world has gone through so much turmoil in the last decade. Night Terror is our commentary on fear, control, and the human condition. We want listeners to explore their own minds, think for themselves, and express freely,”
says the band.

The band’s writing process begins with the rhythm section, the “heartbeat”, before expanding through long jam sessions, layered melodies, and extended solos. Every member contributes to the songwriting, though G and Marco handle the majority of the core composition.

Loud, energetic, groovy, and exciting, OMBRA blends old‑school thrash and sludge with modern groove and a touch of psychedelic rock/ They are recommended for fans of Power Trip, High On Fire, Motörhead, Mastodon, Testament, and Rammstein.

“Night Terror” will be available on all digital platforms on September 14, 2026.

“OMBRA emerges in ‘Hysteria’ as a force that transforms social chaos into high-impact art. Advancing with the brutality of thrash metal and the structure of hard rock, the track shapes a sound that feels like both a siren and a sentence at the same time. Sharp and relentless, the riffs dialogue with drums that tear through the silence, while the vocals echo indignation and lucidity, a manifesto in the form of distortion. The band builds tension with precision: there is weight, but also clarity; fury, but control.” – Roadie Metal

“Delivering high-quality extreme metal that blends elements of thrash metal with other influences full of raw aggressiveness, a cinematic atmosphere with no soft edges, like a punch to the gut!” – Metal Junkbox

“From the moment we hear the sound of sirens, gunshots, and helicopters flying overhead, we know we’re going to encounter a strong track both in sound and lyrics, because the soundscape they create from the very first seconds already feels dense… the drums and guitar move between agility and the creation of a track full of suspense and tension.” – Poppunkers

‘STITCHES’, the new single from the Canadian trio OMBRA, arrives like an open cut: direct, intense, and impossible to ignore. The song crosses the border between hard rock and thrash metal with aggressiveness, transforming psychological tension into dense and precise sound.” – Roadie Music

“OMBRA is an incredible discovery! A band that shows us metal is more alive than ever… it is the perfect soundtrack to start a mosh and let out all our anger. It maintains brutal riffs worthy of any Metallica fan, an imposing guttural voice… it is 100% recommended!” – End Sessions

“I really felt it wasn’t a song made to sound pretty. It’s dark, heavy, and direct… The story it tells ,a woman who keeps reconstructing herself to fit in, hit me hard… It’s not a song that accompanies you in the background; it’s one that confronts you. It ends and leaves you with that knot in your chest.” – Rockola Indie

“Stitches’ hits hard with a dark and visceral vision of the oversexualization of women and the price of chasing perfection… It is raw, uncomfortable, and impossible to ignore.” – Poppunkers

“Stitches’ explores the limits between obsession, beauty, and self-destruction. The track dives into the mind of someone who seeks perfection at any cost… Musically, it combines aggressiveness and atmosphere, with a fast, dense, and confrontational sound… a sharp and suffocating sonority that amplifies the emotional tension. ‘Stitches’ transforms psychological horror into sonic impact.” – Metal Never Die

“The band delivers one of their darkest and most intense compositions to date. The last single before the release of the EP Night Terror, the track dives deeply into themes such as dependency, paranoia, and the destructive consequences of escaping reality. Combining dense and melodic passages with explosions of weight and aggressiveness, creating a sound experience that is as engaging as it is disturbing.” – Metal Junkbox

‘Blue Dream’ delivers suffocating, volatile metal with heavy riffs depicting psychological terror, chemical dependency, and mental collapse in a dense, cinematic sound.” – Whiplash

Eternal Drak, the long‑running extreme metal force originally from Latin America and now based in Quebec City, Canada, known for its evolving blend of black, thrash, and death metal, announces the arrival of its sixth full‑length album, “The Violence of Time,” a work that reframes time itself as the enemy of human meaning and will be released on out July 17th, 2026, on Canadian label FirstWave. Alongside the announcement, the band unveils the album’s first single, “We Force It To Speak.”

Born, as the band puts it, “in the middle of a drunk among friends,” Eternal Drak has spent years forging a sound defined by varied rhythm and catchy aggression, shaped by decades within the metal underground. With this new album, the band reaches its most cohesive and intense expression to date.

“The Violence of Time” is not a concept album in the traditional sense; it is a philosophical assault. Lyrically and musically, the record presents time as a hostile, eroding force that distorts memory, identity, and causality. The songs function as “violent theses,” each dismantling a human assumption about how time works.

The band explains:

“Time does not accompany human beings; it subdues them. It does not flow; it imposes. It does not advance; it erodes.”

Every track reflects fragments of a larger narrative inspired by a short story written for the album, an exploration of how attempts to understand time only warp it further.

Serving as the album’s opening strike, “We Force It To Speak” captures the essence of Eternal Drak’s new era. Rooted in black metal yet enriched with acoustic textures and dense atmospheric layering, the track establishes the album’s emotional and conceptual tone. Lyrically, it confronts the human obsession with explanation, how the act of observing or defining reality alters it beyond recognition. The band describes it as a reflection on “how the more we search for answers, the more certainty slips away.”

Eternal Drak’s evolution has been shaped by decades of experimentation, from analog distortion and classic pedals to modern digital textures. With “The Violence of Time,” the band believes it has finally crystallized its definitive sound: aggressive, cohesive, and uncompromising.

Influences such as Dimmu Borgir, Watain, Kreator, Motörhead, and Desaster echo throughout the record, yet the album stands firmly in its own identity, extreme metal sharpened by introspection and conceptual depth.

About:

Eternal Drak is an extreme metal band based in Quebec City, Canada, originally founded in Latin America in the late ’90s. Rooted in a fierce blend of thrash and black metal, the band has continually expanded its sound with elements of death metal, groove, and melodic experimentation. Lyrically, Eternal Drak explores human and cosmic darkness, a theme present across all seven of its official releases. The band is currently signed to the Canadian label FirstWave.

Formed in 1997 by brothers Drakar and Warhammer, later joined by guitarist Reijav, Eternal Drak quickly gained recognition, winning a City TV award for Best Metal Video in the early 2000s. After releasing early EPs and their first full-length, the band went on hiatus in 2007.

In 2020, the members reunited in Quebec to create The Past Is Gone, A New One Is Coming, honoring co‑founder and drummer Eduardo “Warhammer” Martínez. This revival led to a prolific new era, including the albums Drak Metal (2021), Shadow Storm (2022), Imprisoned Souls (2024), and multiple EPs. The lineup later expanded with guitarist Mike Amyot and drummer Patrick Auger.

Today, Eternal Drak (featuring Andres Martinez Torres (Drakar) – Voices, Lead Guitar, Bass, and Michel Amyot – Rhythm Guitar) continues to evolve while staying true to its extreme metal roots, driven by intensity, melody, and a commitment to pushing its sound across continents.

“A fine collection from the masters of ancient evil” – Metal Noise (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“There’s evil intent at the start of next song “Eternal Drak” something I’d expect as it’s named after the band. Again, the trio are delving into themes of dark forces and mythical battles, but they have upped the intensity on this one as it sounds more powerful. It’s hard not to imagine a town or castle besieged by dragon’s fire and the hellish earth that awaits any survivors.” – The Razor’s Edge (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“another great sounding recording from Eternal Drak and if you are a fan of blackened thrash metal, you should check out this ep. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE “Oda A La Luna” and “La Nueva Orden”. 8 out of 10.” – Bringer of Death Zine (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“„Eternal Drak“ is a small grab bag. Here they use different tempos that fit into the fast, rhythmic sound. With an extremely thrashy and vocally aggressive sound, you always have to be prepared for changing rhythms and moods. An extremely brutal melody blows with us „La nueva Order“ counter. At the end of the „EP“ they take a Metallica song from the album „Master of Puppets“ before. „Leper Messiah“ rewound in a radical version. Just as the album title says: they implement the warrior code musically.” – Hellfire Magazin (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“The Warrior Order is a real surprise and shows a completely new face of ETERNAL DRAK,” – PowerMetal.de (The Warrior Order – 2025)

““Oda A La Luna” sees a powerful drum at the beginning, before the rhythm settles in this dark ode. The lyrical theme is one of rebellion and ritual, and you can feel the intensity with each slap on the snare. The middle section has a sudden tempo change, with a riff that will get your head moving and the intensity follows through.” – The Razor’s Edge (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“This is a pretty good EP that’s got plenty of thrashy riffs, grooves and black metal harmonies and tremolos, give this a spin. ” – Drako’s Metal Reviews (The Warrior Order – 2025)

0 Halifax’s TURBO Get Down and Gritty With No Money! In New Music Video “Broke & Ugly”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 11, 2024

Halifax’s TURBO Get Down and Gritty With No Money! In New Music Video “Broke & Ugly”

Band life is always a truth of being broke as f*ck and playing for the fun and the road. Halifax, Canada’s Turbo embraces this reality with their latest music video “Broke & Ugly”, the title track of their latest album released this past July.

With a slim budget, and a trailer as their jam space, Turbo has effectively proved they are truly “Broke & Ugly”. The band comments on the song:

“The title track of the album was written in a period of hard times, financially speaking. Since this is more or less the general state of being for Evan in particular, who else would be better suited to lyrically immortalize this mindset? It’s catchy, it’s boppy, it’s snarky, and it has our favourite chorus on the album: “Got no money, and STILL fuckin’ ugly”! An anthem we hope at least SOMEBODY out there will relate to.”

Watch the music video for “Broke & Ugly” – https://youtu.be/i_nKMUR2BSk

Known for their gritty, in-your-face sound, Turbo has once again delivered a raw and powerful collection of tracks that will leave listeners begging for more on their sophomore album “Broke & Ugly”. Like your disheveled uncle on Christmas morning, Turbo is trashed, pissed off, and sick of your shit, bringing an intensity and energy that is unmatched in today’s music scene. They comment on the release:

“‘Broke and Ugly’ is our second testament to the ups and downs of the rock-and-roll lifestyle, and it comes in swingin’ HARD. The music is raw, greasy, and mean; but it’s also tight, coordinated, and flashy. The lyrics are defiant and visceral, painting a real picture of where Evan’s mind was during the writing process of the album. Themes go from party anthems to drugs, to women of flings-past, to life on the road, and back again. It’s edgy, it’s real, and it’s undeniably Turbo.”

Turbo was created with a singular vision: to create something bigger, badder, and unapologetically aggressive. Evan Frizzle (vocals/guitar), Sylvain Coderre (drums), Lindsey Dicks (guitar), and Henry MacDonald (bass) have poured their hearts and souls into this album, crafting a unique sound that blends thrash, NWOBHM, glam metal, punk rock, and hardcore. The result is an original, aggressive, and varied listening experience that grabs you by the cojones and doesn’t let go.

The album artwork for “Broke & Ugly” was created by a good friend of the band Tim Murray, and perfectly captures the essence of the band’s raw and unfiltered style. The cover depicts a dive-bar nightmare bathroom, filled with Easter eggs from Turbo‘s previous songs and a green hand grabbing for some shit-tickets from a busted-ass urinal. It’s a fitting visual for an album that promises to be a grimy slab of thrash, sleazy, and louder than anything you’ve heard before. Get ready for Turbo‘s distinct flavor and an absolute slaughter in seven tracks. It is recommended for fans of W.A.S.P., Motorhead, and Judas Priest.

0 Out Now! Canadian Punks THE BLOODY HELL Punch Out New Album “Nobody Cares”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – November 10, 2022

Out Now! Canadian Punks THE BLOODY HELL Punch Out New Album “Nobody Cares”

L-R – The Bloody Hell – Kyle Cantfell – Drums, James Densley – Lead Guitar / Piano, Ian Kean – Guitar / Vocals, Joe Woods – Bass

Formed in 2017, The Bloody Hell has gotten dirtier and more polished at the same time, with the band infecting fans with their pop-cultural hooks and concepts, while the guitars keep getting louder and the vocals becoming uglier. The Bloody Hell is pretty much what would happen if George Thorogood sang for the Misfits, but all the songs were written by Tom Petty.

Super catchy horror rock songs about drinking and heartache are played at punk rock speed with a lineup that features vocalist/guitarist Ian Kean (guitar, vocals), guitarist and pianist James Densley also known from Bubbles and The Shit Rockers, the band fronted by the character Bubbles from the hit TV show The Trailer Park Boys, drummer Kyle Cantfell (Elektric Mistress), and bassist Joe Woods (Root Cellar).

Fast forward now to 2022, and these Canadian punk rockers from Halifax, Nova Scotia return in 2022 to finally release their long-awaited follow-up to their 2018 debut self-titled album. Entitled “Nobody Cares”, the sophomore full-length is out now as of November 10th. Over the last two years during the Covid pandemic, the band shared two singles and music videos, “Nobody Cares About America Anymore” and “When You’re Gone” off the record to a great reception from fans.

“The album took about 3 years to complete due to Covid restrictions, lockdown, and all the madness that was the pandemic. With this album, we feel our sound has evolved nicely from the previous record released in 2018. We have worked hard to shape our songwriting and storytelling abilities and that is thoroughly displayed over the nine tracks on this album. We are hoping that fans who loved our first album will be super excited to hear this one to see how our songwriting has progressed. And we hope that people hearing us for the first time will find something in our sound to relate to or sing along with.” adds vocalist/guitarist Ian Kean.

“Nobody Cares” features The Bloody Hell’s signature sound of raspy aggressive, catchy horror, and politically charged antics over nine tracks that clock in at just over 28 minutes. From tracks like “Hide Away” with its fast punky driving riff and slick earworm guitar lead to “Barbra” a cover of an old Canadian punk song by Vancouver legends Modernettes to even having saxophone on “G” along with added piano on “As Above” and “So Below”, punk fans will find it to be an energetic and passionate sonic experience that conveys stories from lived experiences that many can relate to.

“It’s a true story and we mean every word, hook, and note on it. We give an emotional rollercoaster for your eyes and mind with twists and turns, ups and downs. Just as life is. All the lyrics come from personal experiences whether it be a relationship failure or success, a wild story of substance abuse, or just an observation about world events. I write what I know and try to be truthful in my lyrics.” says Kean.

With a big emphasis on storytelling, so are the two music videos they released to support the album, which can be viewed below.

“Sound wise it’s very accessible, an up-tempo and fun listen that is easy on the ear and compelling to the mind, with influences that the band cite as ranging from Misfits, Nirvana, and Motorhead and it’s filled with catchy hooks and grungy raw-edged vocals, a winning combination in this particular context, it’s very broad spectrum and if you like a horror twist then it could be even more appealing to you. Lyrically the content is interestingly often ambiguous and delivered with clarity of content so you can give them your own interpretation.” – The Punk Globe (Self-Titled 2018)

WarCall is not done with 2021 just yet… they still have more fight in them and a fury of metal to unleash upon the masses with part 2 from their Dead End EP series.

Standing up for all the fights we are fighting on a daily basis. WarCall represents the struggle in life and the challenges we have to rise to. We get called to war every day and it is up to us to step up and face our fears. The DIY Canadian quartet heeds this mantra, consistently pushing boundaries with their fast and dramatic metal music.

Unleashed via their own label Plan B Music, the beginning of the “Dead End” series, Pt.1 was unveiled in April, which was in-your-face, old-school-inspired metal, whereas Pt. 2, slated for November 26th is more progressive and atmospheric.

The band comments:

“Overall, the two EPs together are a collection of 9 songs, 9 stories about struggle. We have let the events of 2020 influence the process and the mood of the two EPs, while still aiming for a timeless production that will age well in time. The title and artwork represent the doom and gloom of life in the year 2020 and how the human race reacts in the face of death and uncertainty. With the impossibility to meet to even take a band picture, WarCall presents themselves as fictional post-apocalyptic warriors, a subtle comment and nod to the current events that marked the year 2020. And while more atmospheric in their nature, the 5 songs from Dead End pt. 2 are delivered in a raw package. At first, we wanted to work on the songs a little more in order to achieve a different atmosphere than Dead End pt. 1. We experimented with sounds and textures to add in the places we thought needed it, but each time, we preferred the original version. In the end, we chose to go ahead with the songs as they are in their purest form.”

In preview to “Dead End Pt. 2”, WarCall is sharing its lead single “Intoxicated” with a DIY music video. The band explains further:

“The first single from Dead End pt. 2, Intoxicated is a good representation of the thrash metal side of the band with its fast-paced riffing for a no-nonsense mosher. The challenge we gave ourselves for this song was to be able to come up with something interesting, not too repetitive with only four riffs. Interesting approach. For the video clip, it is a not-too-serious, DIY film about the gig scene every underground band is going through these days.”

Watch “Intoxicated” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Totally authentic, with a wide range of influences ranging from old-school death and thrash metal, WarCall is recommended for fans of Testament, Exodus, Anthrax and Dissection.

“Dead End Pt. 2” will only be released digitally on November 26, 2021 via Plan B Music.

“Dead End Pt. 1” can be found on Warcallmetal.bandcamp.com, Spotify, Apple Music.

Montreal’s CroMagnum New Music Video For Title Track Off Upcoming EP “Born Free”

Video Premiere via BraveWords

New EP “Born Free” Out Sept 17th, 2021 via King Metal Records

CroMagnum Current Line Up: L-R – Maximus Rex: Guitar, Vocals, Keyboards – Gino LaPosta: Bass

CroMagnum’s “Born Free” is both the monolithic EP and its epic title track. Pleased to finally present the fruits of their labour, the Montreal band presents the title track as its next single in support of their upcoming release. They hope that both the music and its message move listeners to take action in their lives, pushing them to start taking control of their own destiny.

“Born Free” is a creed to live by and its core message is for people to have the absolute necessity to proactively exercise their rights, their liberties and their freedoms. Musically, CroMagnum presents a refined metal attack that is fast-paced and in your face, leaving you with absolutely no chance at being apathetic or indifferent. The band explains the imagery behind the track:

“The very heart of the here and now. That’s what you’re getting with ‘’Born Free’’. A blistering creed splashed in blood on the walls of your city. The wailing cries of the unwashed masses rising from the alleyway. A growing movement of resistance against the restrictions imposed by the unworthy. The beast grows hungry, and it’s time to feed.’’

Compared to their previous record, CroMagnum has become more melodic, adding in a second guitar that has allowed them to push some ideas further than they could with just a single guitar and some pedals. The sound of this EP should be familiar to the listener, but will definitely bring them to new, unexpected and refreshing places.

Fans of classic heavy metal and thrash should prime themselves to unleash the beast that is “Born Free”.

Listen to “Born Free” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

About:

Born of the frosty bowels of Montreal, Quebec, Canada comes CroMagnum, heavy metal from a simpler time. Brutal and unforgiving. Thoughtful and visionary. A forced juxtaposition that leads to an intense listening experience.

CroMagnum started when Maximus Rex and the original drummer parted ways with their previous band with an aim to keep it simple, heavy as fuck and stay as a three-piece. Since then, CroMagnum has evolved into its current form as the main duo of Maximus Rex on guitar and vocals, Gino LaPosta on bass.

With two EPs under their belts, 2014’s self-titled initial release and now 2021’s “Born Free”, CroMagnum embodies the human race’s struggle to climb out of the primordial ooze toward its future ascension to godhood. Lyrical content flows from anger, frustration, history, politics, government corruption, legends, and philosophy, complete with soaring melodies and punishing riffs.

Mythology. Tradition. Evolution. The beginning. The end. CroMagnum.

0 Vancouver’s Rebel Priest Encourages Dark Obsessions With “Vulgar Romance” Off “Lost In Tokyo”, New EP “Lost In Tokyo” Out August 13th via Batcave Records

Montreal, QC – August 11, 2021

Vancouver’s Rebel Priest Encourages Dark Obsessions With “Vulgar Romance” Off “Lost In Tokyo”

New EP “Lost In Tokyo” Out August 13th via Batcave Records

L-R – Jayme Black – Vocals/Bass, Nate Pole – Drums/Vocals, Benny Kemp – Guitars/Vocals

Hailing from Vancouver, Canada, Rebel Priest is the denim and leather-clad trio that has been whipping across stages and pushing out bangin’ albums since 2014. This year they are putting out a new EP called “Lost In Tokyo”, which will be available on August 13th via Batcave Records.

As the name of the EP hints, most of these tracks were written in Japan in 2019 before the closure, the band has been sitting on them for a year, and the time is finally right for them to come out. The third single off this record is “Vulgar Romance”, a dark groover about people’s interests in serial killers and trying to see behind the mind of the hunter. The band explains the track in more depth:

“This song came across with our interest in other people’s interest in serial killers and what would happen if someone took fandom too far or they actually got to see in the eyes behind the mind. It’s a commentary on what people’s hungers are and the deprivation that one can get if they take their interest to the next level. It’s a bittersweet take on a dark topic, we tried to capture the atmosphere with more of a swing to the song as if you were stalking down the street.”

“Vulgar Romance” can be heard at https://youtu.be/FMgntTZPH7M

In their infancy Rebel Priest started out making a lot of different genres, seeing what they liked, what would mesh, and testing all the styles they liked to see what they could pull off. As of now, the experimentation phase is over, they have focused on rock n’ roll because it’s the most natural thing for them, it comes out easily and they don’t have to think about it, however, this could evolve in the future.

If this four-track EP isn’t enough for the fans out there, don’t fret, Rebel Priest ensures that they aren’t slowing down and they will have more coming out throughout the rest of the year, LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN!

Rebel Priest is bringing the rock and recommended for fans of Rose Tattoo, Deep Purple, and LA Guns.

The EP releases on August 13, 2021 via Batcave Records on the following platforms:

About:
Rebel Priest is a no-nonsense, real-deal rock n’ roll band composed of three seasoned musicians who have been making their way through the Western Canadian rock n roll scene for years. Vocalist/bassist Jayme Black (Lust Boys, The Toxiks); guitarist/vocalist Benny Kemp (Lust Boys, Road Rash); and drummer/vocalist Nate Pole (Kill Matilda, The Toxiks) bring nothing but unadulterated, high energy grease infused Trash N’ Roll!

The band has had the pleasure of touring Japan, and performing alongside bands such as Udo (Accept), Lordi, Diamond Head, Crystal Pistol, Flotsam, and Jetsam along with playing many headlining gigs with the energy of Motorhead meets Motley Crue.
Since forming in 2014, the band has released three studio albums “R’ley Heavy” (2019), Enabler (2017 ), Self-Titled (2015) along with one live record “Dead Alive @ SBC (2017).

Now in 2021, they offering up a slab of new music in the shape of an EP “Lost In Tokyo”, which was written in Japan at the very end of 2019, before the closure, and the band has been sitting on the tracks for over a year. The band even shares a cover rendition of Toronto 80s metal band Slash Puppets’ “When The Whip Comes Down”.

“We had a batch of headbangers and a few didn’t make it, but sometimes songs just need other means to come out. We wanted to set the tone for each one on this EP as opposed to a full-length concept album. Each one is a juggernaut on their own and will stand strong without having to be bound to the others… and as for more music … oh Lemmy tell ya! We aren’t slowing down, we are gonna have stuff coming at ya throughout the rest of the year, LIKE A FREIGHT TRAIN!” adds Jayme Black (vocals/bassist).

Recommended for fans of Guns n’ Roses, AC/DC and Motley Crue, Rebel Priest’s new EP “Lost In Tokyo” will be available on August 13th, 2021 via Batcave Records.

0 Vancouver’s REBEL PRIEST Bring The Mean Streets To Your Ears With “Back Alley Blues”, New EP “Lost In Tokyo” Out August 13th via Batcave Records

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 14, 2021

For fans of Motörhead, ZZ Top, Rose Tattoo, Deep Purple, LA Guns

Vancouver’s REBEL PRIEST Bring The Mean Streets To Your Ears With “Back Alley Blues”

New EP “Lost In Tokyo” Out August 13th via Batcave Records

L-R – Jayme Black – Vocals/Bass, Nate Pole – Drums/Vocals, Benny Kemp – Guitars/Vocals

Vancouver’s Rebel Priest took a trip to Japan in 2019 and from the drunken debauchery they wrote a few songs, now being released as a four-track EP, the aptly named “Lost In Tokyo”. The second single off the EP is the second track “Back Alley Blues”.

Instead of a full-length concept album, Rebel Priest decided to make a punchy, succinct EP. They set the tone on each single by adding a few similar elements which bind them together on the album as a whole but each track is a juggernaut on its own and will stand strong independently. “Back Alley Blues” is a slinking little ditty about an imaginary place that is half sunset strip, half Detroit rock city, and about hanging with your crew. The band explains further:

“Imagine if you will, you’re a stray cat, walking down the street. You come across a mean old junkyard dog, you’re not afraid ‘cause you’re a tough-as-nails, street thug. The dog starts barking, you keep walking, and the smell of a kitty of the other persuasion is in the air. You’re now hotter than on a summer day, you see an alley with an intoxicating scent. As you walk down the place you feel most at home, your nostrils spike because there is something else in the air. As you get to the end of the alley you see the kitty you have been looking for and they have a bag of catnip. That’s just the beginning of your night.”

Lived experiences, vivid imagery, and wild rock n roll is the name of the game for Rebel Priest. The writing process for the band is simple and organic, the result of them working together previously and being no strangers to their craft. They will write a riff, work on it together, and then if it has wings, they let it fly. There is no microscope to put tracks under and obsess over, in this world of autotune and time-shifting, it’s all about trying to find the ghost in the machine, and Rebel Priest is bringing the Ouiji board!

Greasy, smooth, and catchy, “Back Alley Blues” is recommended for fans of ZZ Top, Rose Tattoo, and Deep Purple.
