Wacken Metal Battle Canada Unleash FREE Download Compilation of 2014 Battling Bands; Line Up Announced! One Band To Rule Them All!
Wacken Metal Battle Canada is proud to unleash in promotion of this year’s 2014 battle line up, a FREE DOWNLOAD compilation featuring some of the indie metal bands competing in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

About: Over 100 independent Canadian metal bands have been selected to participate in this year’s Wacken Metal Battle Canada line up in Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver. The bands will compete during the months of March, April and May in 22 qualifying rounds, 6 semi-finals, and an Alberta final along with the national final being held on June 7th in Toronto, ON at Opera House.
One band will be chosen to represent the nation with highest honour at this year’s 2014 international battle at the world’s most prestigious metal festival Wacken Open Air in Wacken, Germany.
The finals will have the following representation and will be judged along with all other rounds by a panel of music industry representatives.
1 finalist from Vancouver, BC
1 finalist from Alberta (Calgary & Edmonton will face off in Alberta final)
2 finalists from Toronto, ON
1 finalist from Montreal, QC
Last year’s battle was witnessed to Toronto, ON’s epic power/death metal band Crimson Shadows not only winning the 2013 Canadian final but conquering the international final and performing in front of thousands unknown to their behemoth sound. (Video of that champion set can be viewed here.) The band joined a list of Canadian heavyweights such as Voivod, Exciter, Razor, Annihilator, Anvil, Kataklysm, Cryptopsy, 3 Inches of Bloods, Despised Icon and Danko Jones who have performed at the festival in years past.
Submissions were open from December 5, 2013 to January 31, 2014.

Touring and moving around their native country of Canada relentlessly, Kill Matilda has called B.C., Quebec and Ontario home over the last few years, making it exceptionally clear that they mean business. As their journey continues, the band is gearing up once again to hit the road across the country from Vancouver to Montreal and settling in Toronto for a second time.
The zombie hunters will be on tour in promotion of their new release ‘#Punk#Zombie#Rocknroll’, a six song EP/ re-release featuring tracks from their 2011 full-length album ‘I Want Revenge’ with an acoustic rendition of ‘Geisha With A Switchblade’. The EP is set for official release on March 4th and will be accompanied by a comic book created by vocalist/guitarist Dusty Exner.

Also in the plans for later this year, the band will be releasing their yet to be titled follow up EP produced by producer extraordinaire Garth Richardson.
“The amazing attention of Garth Richardson! Although this man has produced so many amazing albums and we’re not the only band getting some attention and love, he took the extra steps to personally engineer our new album, which is something he has not done in like, 10 years or something. BornBroken Announce Limited Edition Hockey Jersey; Make Donation On Behalf of Rock The Cause Charity Concert To Montreal Children’s Hospital
Performing at the third annual benefit show Rock The Cause last December in Montreal, QC. Groove metal band BornBroken is proud to announce with Rock The Cause that just under 3,000 dollars was raised for The Montreal Children’s Hospital. The band was joined by Melting Point, One Night Stand, Monkey Bones and Your What’s Itchy. “I’ve been involved with Rock The Cause for the past three years doing designing and marketing for the event. When my band BornBroken was asked to play the 2013 event, myself and the band we’re excited and also humbled. Music is used for many reasons, to soothe the soul of the savage beast or to heal the hearts of many. Rock The Cause chose to take a usual gig night and turn it into an event where we give back to the community.
