Extreme Progressive Metal Group IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Unveils Music Video for ‘Candlelight’

Band On US Tour Now! Performing at Mad With Power Fest This Weekend

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)

The extreme progressive/power metal group IMMORTAL GUARDIAN have unveiled a music video for “Candlelight”, the latest single from their critically acclaimed concept album “Psychosomatic”. The clip which was produced by Brett Rivera and features former Cirque Du Soleil performer Olga Pikhienko and world-renown dancer Danny Davalos filmed at the location at the Valley of Fire outside Las Vegas – is being released in the wake of the band’s return to the road, which began last week with a concert in their newly adopted hometown and was followed by a show in guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian’s original hometown of Harlingen, Texas.

Watch “Candlelight” at https://youtu.be/8_27GDBEP6Q

Says Gabriel, “’Candlelight’ is a beautiful song written by (vocalist) Carlos Zema as a tribute to all of our loved ones that passed away during these hard times. 2020 was a very difficult year for all of us, with lockdowns, deaths in the family and having to cancel all of our plans as a band. Making our album ‘Psychosomatic’ helped us cope with the tough times and be able to channel our thoughts and emotions into lyrics and melodies. ‘Candlelight’ was a very tough song for Carlos and I to do with all of the emotional weight it brought, but in the end, we were very happy with how it came out and finalized on the album. This song goes out to all our friends, family and heroes who are no longer with us today.”

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s cross-country journey – which includes a series of shows alongside Atlanta power-thrashers Paladin, as well as a headlining appearance at the Mad With Power Fest in Madison, Wisc. on August 28 – marks the band’s first live performances in support of “Psychosomatic”. The group will be performing every night backed by a visually entrancing laser/light show designed by Guardian himself. A list of the remaining tour dates is below.

“Psychosomatic” has been lauded by Metal Temple for its “melody and power, two things displayed in a smashing way throughout this album,” and it led Metal Rules to call the group “one of the most interesting bands that have emerged in recent years on the international power metal scene.” Video clips for the title track and “Phobia,” the latter of which featured a guest appearance by Angra guitarist Marcelo Barbosa, have captured the ears of heavy metal fans worldwide, while their videos for “Clocks,” “Lockdown” and “Read Between The Lines” have earned praise from the likes of MetalSucks, Metal Injection and Gear Gods.

After making a splash via their 2018 full-length debut “Age of Revolution” – which featured its own fair share of creative music videos, including the “Armageddon”-meets-telenovela clip for “Stardust” – and through tours with the likes of Marty Friedman, Exmortus and Powerglove, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2020 to record their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, shutdowns around the world began being enforced, resulting in the band completely scrapping the record that they had been working on and writing and creating a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events. The resulting “Psychosomatic” was a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian – known for his uncanny ability to play the two instruments simultaneously – remaining in Las Vegas, singer Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, drummer Justin Piedimonte tracking from Montreal and bassist Joshua Lopez recording from IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s native Texas.

“Psychosomatic” is a product of the extraordinary turmoil of 2020 that affected millions of people around the world, as well as the next step in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s exhilarating melding of melodic power metal with progressive/shred tendencies. The group is looking forward to bringing their scintillating sounds and dazzling visuals to the road for fans to experience live.

A small amount of limited-edition transparent purple haze vinyl copies of “Psychosomatic” remain available, along with CD and digital versions of the album, at www.smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

It’s been a very busy summer for Canadian metal band Osyron. They performed at Western Canada’s decibel-breaking metal fest Loud As Hell, were nominated for a Calgary YYC Music Award for Metal Recording of the Year for their 2020 album “Foundations” and they have peaked the Canadian College Radio Loud Charts at #2 during July 2021 for their latest record and reissue of “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition”.

Continuing to support the promotion of “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” that was released earlier this spring on May 14th, Osyron is sharing their latest music video for the song “Razor’s Wind”, which is one of three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks on the reissue.

The new music video for “Razor’s Wind” was directed and edited by Osyron guitarist Krzysztof Stalmach.

The band explains the track in their own words:

“This song was originally a folk metal opus, telling the tale of how the reluctant hero of the Kingsbane story was finally answering the call to adventure; to leave his safe shores and journey into the unknown. The song muses about all his coming struggles; from within and without.

Being that the setting the original painted was this seafaring epic, it translated so well (along with the beautiful Celtic inspired melodies) into this sea shanty-esque retelling of the original song.”

Watch and listen to “Razor’s Wind” at https://youtu.be/9_hnsepBW9Q

In addition to Osyron revealing the new music video today, they will also be interacting with fans later tonight on a Twitch stream playing Band Room Blitz together with the game designer Andrew Baldock.

Fans can watch and interact with the band members via chat as they talk about the game, Loud as Hell Festival and Kingsbane.

Here are the details:
Stream is 8pm/20:00 MT on August 24th.
The channel is Brian’s Republic – mostly gaming and some music

Osyron’s latest release “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” features all original recordings plus bonus tracks remixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and remastered by drummer Cody Anstey. The decision to re-release the record along with three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker and Razor’s Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Anstey (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb) was an easy one after the great reception the band received from new fans for their 2020 album “Foundations”.

“Doing a re-release was never on our radar before, and definitely not something we previously considered for such a long and fleshed out album. However,  we felt that this album could do with a proper release in our target markets, and we had lots of time over the pandemic to try and breathe some new life into it. As such, we set out to remix and re-master the whole album, along with re-recording 3 songs in re-arranged states as singles. These three songs were picked based on their reception live, our personal connection to them, or for the amount of potential we saw in re-arranging them. We’re super excited to get all these songs out for you in a higher quality mix, but we’re easily most excited to get you to hear these new takes on some of our “classics”. “

The storyline for “Kingsbane” is about a hero who must reluctantly take up arms against a tyrant king in a neighbouring land. Along the way, he faces many inward, and outward challenges he must overcome to achieve his goal. Through it all, the hero learns a valuable lesson that even though they are duty-bound to stop this great evil, this great evil is also in the eye of the beholder. They discover that the weight of absolute power has the potential to corrupt absolutely – maybe not all villains are as one-dimensional as they seem from the outset.

Osyron‘s “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” is recommended for fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun.

What the press is saying:
“Osyron is a band that takes matters into their own hands and literally does most of the production and studio work in-house. They have lovingly remixed their last album, and given fans old and new a brand new take on three songs which are worth the price of the album on their own. The music is all well executed and conceived, and the musicianship is top-notch for every player. Whether you already have the original release or not, the Kingsbane – Deluxe Edition is more than worth the price to add to your collection.” – Metal Express Radio

“This is a band in its best form. Osyron has shown that it continues to improve in its production level, so its next full length should be a reflection of the great evolution that they have shown in this reissue.” – Metal Rules (Review – Kingsbane Reissue 2021)

“‘Kingsbane’ Voted #17 Best of 2017” – Metal Rules

“I loved every second of this album. It is a fantastic experience. From the very first notes of the album to the last, your attention is completely captured. I even have had a hard time writing this review while listening to the album because I kept getting lost in the music. It just sucks you in. This is, without a doubt, a must-have album! You don’t want to miss out on this one. It is an experience that will become a staple of your collection. I know it will be a standout in mine. I loved every second and I know you will too.” – Uber Rock

“another brilliant record from this thrilling band.” – Ever Metal (Kingsbane Deluxe Edition (Remixed/Remastered))

“This is a great blend of epic heavy/folk metal that combines the folk stylings of bands such as Blind Guardian, with 90s thrash elements and 90s symphonic power metal style vocals.” – Cave Dweller Music – (Kingsbane Deluxe Edition (Remixed/Remastered))

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Takes ‘Psychosomatic’ To The Road With An Epic Laser & Light Show

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)

The extreme progressive/power metal group IMMORTAL GUARDIAN are taking the epic sounds of their critically acclaimed concept album “Psychosomatic” to the road and bringing a visually entrancing laser/light show with them. The band’s cross-country journey begins this Friday, August 13 with a show in their newly adopted hometown of Las Vegas. The trek also includes an extensive run alongside Atlanta power-thrashers Paladin; a show in guitarist Gabriel Guardian’s hometown of Harlingen, Texas on August 17; and a headlining appearance at the Mad With Power Fest in Madison, Wisc. on August 28.

“We are so excited to finally go back on tour,” says guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian. “We haven’t even seen each other in person since NAMM 2020, yet since then, we have been able to write and release a new album entirely over the Internet. It feels good to know we will finally play songs live that we have only played in studio until now. Mid-pandemic, I was fortunate enough to learn how to program light shows and organize bigger productions, so you can expect IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s tour to have new music, a new light/laser show, new gear and a new, kickass, epic live show. We can’t wait to see y’all on the road!”

The upcoming tour marks IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s first live dates in support of “Psychosomatic,” their acclaimed new concept record. Calgary, Canada’s Osyron is sharing their latest music video “Griefmaker” in support of “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” released this past May. The track is one of three rearranged bonus tracks featured on the re-issue of the 2017 album.

“Griefmaker was a song picked for its potential to be re-arranged. It’s a very fleshed-out and layered song, and it has very atmospheric sections, but we’ve always felt that it could do with some extra reinforcement of those moments. We cut the time down on it quite a bit and removed a lot of the heavily symphonic sections to make room for sections where the guitars/arrangements could take a front seat. We feel overall it’s a more “mature” and “current” version of this song; if Osyron were writing this now it’d sound more like it does here than it did on the original release.” adds the band.

The music video for the bonus version of “Griefmaker”, an epic symphonic power prog song can be watched via YouTube – https://youtu.be/JU97fCRcfnA

Osyron has always sensed the sound and production could be better for the original recording of “Kingsbane”, and with time on their hands during the Covid pandemic along with writing new music, they felt it was an opportunity to give the full length a musical facelift.

“Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” features all original recordings plus bonus tracks remixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and remastered by drummer Cody Anstey. The decision to re-release the record along with three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker and Razor’s Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Antsey (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb) was an easy one after the great reception the band received from new fans for their 2020 album “Foundations”.

NEWS RELEASE

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Announces Shredocalypse 2021 Tour w/ Paladin

Extreme Progressive/Power Metal Group’s Acclaimed New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’ Out Now via M-Theory Audio

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)

There’s been much anticipation from both fans and Immortal Guardian to announce that after waiting for over a year to perform live they will be officially hitting the road across the USA for tour dates with Paladin.

Entitled the Shredocalypse 2021 Tour, the first show will be kicking off in Immortal Guardian‘s former hometown of Austin, TX on August 18th and see them and Paladin trek across thirteen states into mid-September with more dates to be announced (current dates listed below).

“We are so happy to finally announce we are back on the road! After so many cancellations and postponed dates through all of last year, we are beyond excited to come to your city and bring you some LIVE heavy metal!!! During the pandemic, we had time to make a new album (Psychosomatic) from home and I even got to learn how to program light/laser shows!!! So expect a brand new live show, with a new production of lights and lasers to all new music. See you on the road Guardians!”

After making a splash via their 2018 full-length debut “Age of Revolution” – which featured its own fair share of creative music videos, including the “Armageddon”-meets-telenovela “Stardust” – and through tours with the likes of Marty Friedman, Exmortus, and Powerglove, IMMORTAL GUARDIAN gathered in Las Vegas at the beginning of 2020 to record their second album. As the spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent pandemic began to ensue, shutdowns around the world began being enforced, resulting in the band completely scrapping the record that they had been working on and writing and creating a new thematic record about their emotions surrounding current events. The resulting “Psychosomatic” was a truly multi-national record, with guitarist/keyboardist Gabriel Guardian – known for his uncanny ability to play the two instruments simultaneously – remaining in Las Vegas, singer Carlos Zema recording his vocals from his home in Brazil, drummer Justin Piedimonte tracking from Montreal, and bassist Joshua Lopez recording from IMMORTAL GUARDIAN‘s native Texas.

“Psychosomatic” is a product of the extraordinary turmoil of 2020 that affected millions of people around the world, as well as the next step in IMMORTAL GUARDIAN’s exhilarating melding of melodic power metal with progressive/shred tendencies. CD and limited-edition purple vinyl editions of “Psychosomatic” are available now at www.smarturl.com/immortalguardian.

Out now as of Friday, May 14th, Calgary, Canada’s Osyron are ready to reintroduce the past to the present with the reissue of their 2017 album “Kingsbane” in a Deluxe Edition. The decision to re-release plus remix and remaster the record along with three rewritten and rearranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker and Razor’s Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Antsey (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb) was an easy one after the great reception the band received from new fans for their 2020 album “Foundations”.

Osyron has always sensed the sound and production could be better for “Kingsbane”, and with time on their hands during the Covid pandemic along with writing new music, they felt it was an opportunity to share a fresh take of this epic record for new listeners plus those who have been following them for years.

Drummer Cody Antsey adds:

“The world groans under the heavy burden these days which, according to our nature, should bring us all closer together. But it is precisely this feeling that is too often missing. In these times when the bands can’t get together when the fans can only experience the sweat and sound-filled nights in crowded venues in their memories; other ways of forwarding momentum have to be found. For this reason, we hope that all our fans – both old and new – can enjoy our updated and revitalized Deluxe Edition re-release of Kingsbane. We have big plans for our next record, and we absolutely cannot wait to get back to playing shows and writing together in the studio… Until then, stay safe, stay metal, and we hope to see you on the road someday soon!”

The original recordings of the bonus tracks on “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” were written by guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, but for the reissue were collaborated by the whole band. The Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” was also entirely re-mixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and re-mastered by drummer Cody Anstey.

The music video for the bonus version of “Viper Queen”, a venomous power punch of melodic heavy metal can be watched via YouTube – https://youtu.be/S6aSsrCdfmU

With powerful songwriting and progressive symphonic melodies, fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun can enjoy Osyron‘s “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” on the following platforms:

“From acoustic to symphonic, each song has plenty of twists and turns with potent vocals and compelling arrangements that showcase Osyron’s instrumental prowess.” – Heavy Music Headquarters (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations is an impressive, very likeable album that will no doubt strongly appeal to a diverse range of metalheads, from fans of European power metal, to prog metallers, to fans of more modern metal. Given the strong quality of this EP, I very much look forward to their next full-length album, which could really establish Osyron as a new, fresh force in the international metal scene.” – Metal Observer (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations puts the band front and center for another Canadian breakthrough to a worldwide audience. Osyron succeed in creating a musically catchy effort that also contains some interesting twists and killer interplay when necessary – and should be a band to keep tabs on.” – Dead Rhetoric (Foundations 2020)

“Seriously, it had been a long time since I had been blown away by a progressive metal release and this one does not disappoint. The production is on point and every song has its place on this EP to demonstrate what these guys are capable of. If you are looking for something different and fresh in a genre that has been known to stagnate, give this EP a nice long listen.” – Metal Temple (Foundations 2020)

“Foundations is genuinely unlike anything I’ve heard before and it’s had me going back for multiple listens precisely for this reason. The musicianship and songwriting are of high quality, but it’s the production that really sells it.” – Moshville (Foundations 2020)

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN Unveils Video for Title Track of New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’

Extreme Progressive/Power Metal Group’s Acclaimed New Concept Album ‘Psychosomatic’ Out Now via M-Theory Audio

IMMORTAL GUARDIAN is (L-R):
Gabriel Guardian (Guitars/Keyboards)
Carlos Zema (Vocals)
Joshua Lopez (Bass)
Justin Piedimonte (Drums)

The extreme progressive/power metal group IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has unveiled a video for “Psychosomatic”, the title track of their acclaimed new concept album that was inspired by and recorded during the coronavirus pandemic. The clip can be viewed at https://youtu.be/YCdxPLR275A.

“One thing we started noticing early on at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 was the overwhelming number of friends that were getting sick only to find out they tested negative and never had the virus. Us included! There were so many moments where we were so convinced that we had covid because we felt all the symptoms and totally freaked ourselves out even though we never left our house. Just to take a test and find out we didn’t have it and even feel the symptoms disappear after 24hrs. This was happening to so many people I know and we thought it would be a very interesting topic to write about,” explains Gabriel Guardian. “This is not to take away from the seriousness of the virus and the harm it has actually done to some of our other friends and family. It’s been a very rough year for all of us… But if there was something, we noticed that did affect the majority, it was the big amounts of fear and confusion that literally made us all feel sick just from living through the experience. Our silent pandemic is psychosomatic.”

“Psychosomatic” is the latest in a series of creative videos that IMMORTAL GUARDIAN has released in recent weeks. Last month, the group unveiled a clip for “Phobia”, which featured a guest appearance by Angra guitarist Marcelo Barbosa. Previously, their videos for “Clocks,” “Lockdown” and “Read Between The Lines” earned praise from the likes of MetalSucks, Metal Injection, and Gear Gods.

SENNIGHT Shares Their “Golden Crown” Off Upcoming 2021 Album “New Takes The Old”

Track Premiere via Metal-Rules

Featuring Album Guests Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable),
Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse), Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual)

L-R – Sennight – Adam Mast – Bass, Vocal | Trevor Norris – Guitar

Atlanta’s Sennight drives forth with their heavy, melancholic brand of melodic metal that can quickly be felt by the listener who is washed over with pronounced energy. It commands attention and is not a sound that is easily forgotten. Compared to their earlier demos, which were more of an alternative metal sound, their music has gotten faster and more energetic since then.

Planning to release their first full-length “New Takes The Old”, which features guests Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable), Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse, Blackwater Drowning, Azymyth), and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) later in 2021 to follow their 2019 debut EP “Fear of The Unseen”. The duo of Adam Mast (Bass, Vocals) and Trevor Norris (Guitar) are ready to introduce more of themselves to the world with the release of the third single from the upcoming 10 track album.

Entitled “Golden Crown”, the single is a heavy detuned track that features a brilliant solo from guest guitarist Ron Dalton Jr.

Vocalist/bassist Adam Mast explains “Golden Crown” in further detail:

“We used a rarer guitar tuning on Golden Crown – BADGBE (Standard tuning with bottom E down a 5th), which took us out of our comfort zone for riffs and chords, but we were really happy how the track finally came together. Somehow the song took on a heavier pocket/down tempo feeling while staying with that cold melodic vibe that we like to use. There’s also a fabulously ripped solo by Ron Dalton Jr., and it has to be one of the best on the album. The lyrics sort of play between nebulous themes of change, death, and leaving behind old states of being to embrace new ones.”

“Golden Crown”, Sennight‘s third single can be heard via its premiere on Metal-Rules HERE.

Spotify pre-save here.

Sennight‘s forthcoming album “New Takes The Old” will be comprised of ten songs with a variety of colors, sometimes energetic and penetrating, other times somber and plodding. The album was recorded over several sessions at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC, and a few parts were done remotely at guitarist Trevor Norris’ home studio. Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual) also recorded their guest solos remotely. The lyrical content on the album is largely inspired by various European mythologies and epic stories: people striving and persevering against terrible odds and having otherworldly experiences.

Ever ambitious, Sennight has more plans for releases after this upcoming 2021 album drops.

Recommended for fans of Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, Sennight‘s previous singles “Arise” and “Tearing Free”, can also be heard on Bandcamp, Spotify. Apple Music.

Track Listing:
1. Perfect Symmetry
2. New Takes The Old – ft. guest solo Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable)

About:

Atlanta’s Sennight was founded in 2017 by bassist/vocalist/songwriter Adam Mast. After years of playing bass in the extreme metal scene, his musical tastes and direction changed and he began writing in a more melodic/heavy metal direction. Influenced by melodic metal bands such as Katatonia, Opeth, and Kamelot, he sought to craft a sound with heavy guitars and drums entwined with harmonic vocal melodies.

Sennight’s first EP “Fear of the Unseen” came out in May 2019, recorded at Jam Room Studio in Columbia, SC with engineer Zac Thomas. Joining in on the studio tracks were a couple of ace North Carolina metal musicians: Drummer David Holquin (Violent Life Violent Death) and guitarist Ron Dalton Jr. (Your Chance to Die, Final Curse).

Wasting no time, Sennight reentered the Jam Room Studio in late 2019, again with Thomas at the console, and began recording their first LP “New Takes The Old” with guitarist Trevor Norris officially joining the band in early 2020. Holquin and Dalton Jr. helped again with studio tracking and the sessions along with guest guitar solo appearances from mainstay southeastern metallers Brian Kingsland (Nile, Imperishable) and Alex Parra (Paladin, Sadistic Ritual).

Up to this point, the writing has been done by Mast who fully demos the songs on a DAW and sends them to the other studio players. The guitar solos are fully made by the individual players and the drums are creatively improved by the drummer. When it comes to their live shows, metal fans can anticipate a high energy set with a big guitar sound, in true classic rock band style with no backing tracks. Sennight’s debut album “New Takes the Old” can be expected in 2021.

OSYRON To Release Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” Album (Remixed, Remastered + Bonus Tracks)

“Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” Out May 14th

Post Teaser For Upcoming Music Video “Viper Queen”

Calgary, Canada’s Osyron unleashed their latest album “Foundations” in July 2020. The release was an immersive exploration of Canadian history and identity, speaking on topics of the country’s colonization to its mistreatment and recognition of Aboriginals to its participation in global warfare. Although it was not a conceptual release, it did bear a consistent theme across nearly the entirety of the record.

Now in 2021, with great reception from new fans for “Foundations”, Osyron has decided to re-introduce the past to the present with the re-release of their 2017 album “Kingsbane” in a Deluxe Edition on May 14th.

The Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” will feature all original tracks from the 2017 full-length re-mixed and re-mastered (original recordings were with former drummer Trevor Cobb). There will also be three re-written and re-arranged bonus tracks for Viper Queen, Griefmaker, and Razor’s Wind (Acoustic) with current drummer Cody Anstey. The original recordings of the bonus tracks were written by guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, but for the Deluxe Edition were collaborated by the whole band. The Deluxe Edition of “Kingsbane” was also entirely re-mixed by bassist Tyler Corbett and re-mastered by drummer Cody Anstey.

The band adds:

“Doing a re-release was never on our radar before, and definitely not something we previously considered for such a long and fleshed out album. However,  we felt that this album could do with a proper release in our target markets, and we had lots of time over the pandemic to try and breathe some new life into it. As such, we set out to remix and re-master the whole album, along with re-recording 3 songs in re-arranged states as singles. These three songs were picked based on their reception live, our personal connection to them, or the amount of potential we saw in re-arranging them. We’re super excited to get all these songs out for you in a higher quality mix, but we’re easily most excited to get you to hear these new takes on some of our “classics”.

For “Kingsbane”, Osyron dives into a story of a hero who must reluctantly take up arms against a tyrant king in a neighbouring land.

Leading up to the release of “Kingsbane” Deluxe Edition”, Osyron will also be releasing a music video on April 9th for the new version of their single “Viper Queen”.

A teaser for that video can be viewed via YouTube – https://youtu.be/CVK6tn011fE

The band comments on the single:

“Viper Queen” had actually always felt like the “odd one” out on the album, especially stylistically. All of the other songs have sections that repeat from song to song, or motifs that reprise, and all the other songs have a section that acts as a part of the intro piece (From Ashes). Viper Queen never really fell into that same groove and was never considered as a single on the first release of Kingsbane. However, it immediately did well live. People absolutely loved the song, and even we felt that especially live it captured a certain energy that was maybe missed from the recorded performance. We’ve even received comments from people about how they didn’t really get Viper Queen until they came to a show and watched it happen live, so to that end, we wanted to really nail it for the re-release. We re-arranged it to trim some of what we considered the fat, and we sped up the tempo to more accurately translate some of that “live” intensity we felt the song was missing!”

With powerful songwriting and progressive symphonic melodies, fans of Nightwish, Dream Theater, and Wintersun can enjoy Osyron‘s “Kingsbane: Deluxe Edition” when it’s released on May 14th, 2021.

About:
Osyron is a symphonic metal band based in Calgary, Alberta. The group consists of vocalist Reed Alton, guitarists Krzysztof Stalmach and Bobby Harley, bassist Tyler Corbett, and drummer Cody Anstey. Bridging the gap between traditional European metal and the music of their homegrown contemporaries, Osyron has a sound all their own.

Performing alongside numerous major acts such as Norther, Protest The Hero, Into Eternity, Threat Signal, and The Agonist, Osyron’s next goal is to take their sound across the Atlantic in the flesh (post-Covid).

What the press is saying:
“Their excellent blend of melody, speed and power always hits the sweet spot and I always enjoy seeing them. Progressive Power Metal at its finest. I could see them playing in Atlanta on PowerProg one year soon!” – Metal Rules (Live Review)

“Everything about KINGSBANE is supremely well done. They are one of my new favourite Canadian bands!” – Metal Rules (2017 Kingsbane album review)

“‘Kingsbane’ Voted #17 Best of 2017” – Metal Rules

“Everything about this band is top quality and one of the most proficient, mature, classy and yet still exciting new bands in this field.” – Metal Rules (Foundations 2020)

“Get close, get warm and listen to the tales told of Canada by Osyron. 8/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life (Foundations 2020)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – February 19, 2021

For fans of Firewind, Kamelot, Labyrinth

Rockshots Records: Out Now! From The Depth Release “Back To Life (10th Anniversary Edition)”

Remixed and Remastered Version

2 Bonus Tracks “The Will To Be The Flame” Re-Recorded Version

“Nothing To You” Acoustic ft. Apollo Papathanasio

Release Date: February 19th

After the successful collaboration for the release of the sophomore album “Moments” this past August, Italian power metallers From The Depth and Rockshots Records join forces again to unleash the 10th Anniversary Edition of the band’s debut album “Back To Life”.

The new edition of the record was re-mixed and re-mastered by Santo Clemenzi (bass player of the band) at Angle Room Studio, and includes two bonus tracks: the first one “The Will To Be The Flame” was re-recorded by the current line-up (incl. Davide Castro, former keyboard player, and current studio arranger), the second one “Nothing To You (acoustic version)” features Apollo Papathanasio duetting with Raffaele “Raffo” Albanese who re-recorded the whole song.

Vocalist and frontman Raffaele “Raffo” Albanese comments about the 10th Anniversary Edition of “Back To Life”:

“After ten years from releasing our debut album ‘Back To Life” and some years later selling it out, we decided to release a new version of it to celebrate its anniversary. This record allowed us to hit so many amazing stages all around Europe. This record has its own story, with strengths and weaknesses, even for its emotional matter. This is why we gave it to Santo Clemenzi who made a sound update thanks to a new mixing and mastering, without distorting the original performances on it. We’re happy once again to team up with Rockshots Records after the excellent experience we had for our latest full-length “Moments”, as we are pretty sure they will give the proper value to this special edition.“

BIO:
From The Depth was formed officially at the end of 2008. In 2010, with their first solid line-up, they released the demo “The Will To Be The Flame”, which quickly sold out.

In 2011 the band signed with Rising Records for the release of their first studio album “Back To Life”, published and released worldwide in November of the same year. Meanwhile, they attended many European festivals playing alongside bands such as Megadeth, Sonata Arctica, Overkill, King Diamond, Iced Earth, Moonspell, Lordi, Sabaton, Rhapsody Of Fire, Dragonforce and more.

Between 2013 and 2015 the band went through some line-up changes, but slowly, during live shows, they started the writing process for the “Back To Life” successor. By the end of 2016, a new limited edition EP was published with the name of “Perseverance”.

From 2018 the actual stable line-up is in place and after some live gigs the band focused on studio material to finalize “Moments”. The album was mixed and mastered by Simone Mularoni at Domination Studio in January 2020 and features, among others, musicians like Roberto Tiranti and Giacomo Voli. While working on new material, the band leveraged new members’ ideas to write even more songs, and a new album is already written and in the early stage of production.

Lately, the band is also remixing and remastering “Back To Life” which is waiting for a new release, scheduled for the 10-year anniversary of the album in 2021.

– 30-

“Back To Life” has everything and more when it comes to a solid power metal album. The songs flow together smoothly and are well balanced between reckless guitar solos and stunning piano work. Also, the vocals were most impressive. This is definitely an album that you will want to check out. – Sorrow Eternal – 9/10

“From The Depth managed to stand out thanks to their quality and exciting work, which knows how to identify itself among the overwhelmed Italian scene” – Metalitalia.com – 7/10

“Finally! Finally some good Italian power metal, produced with all the trimmings, played with all the trimming and sung with all the trimmings! After too many negatives reviews by Italian bands From The Depth wipe out any doubt on our land’s playing skills.” – Metal.it – 7,5/10
