Touring across Eastern Canada this past April presented by PureGrainAudio.com, Toronto hard rockers UFORIA rolled through nine cities and four provinces in promotion of their latest EP ‘Fight or Flight’. During the tour, the 4 piece captured clips from the road and concerts to put together their latest music video “Overthrow”.

UFORIA’s latest EP ‘Fight or Flight’ was released during July of last year and produced plus co-written with Finger Eleven drummer Steve Molella. The EP’s title track has been a common sound having been played regularly at the Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays games throughout the 2016 season.

UFORIA first began as a solo project by front man Michael Ursini (Singer/Songwriter/Rhythm Guitar), which over the years has morphed into a talented four-piece of hard rock that has released three EPs since 2012. Influenced by bands like Billy Talent, Incubus, Finger Eleven and Our Lady Peace, among others, the group also consists of Adam Brik (Lead Guitar), Daniel Salij (Bass) and Dylan Piercey (Drums).

Uforia’s previous releases include the debut EP Imagining (2012) and the fan-funded follow-up Transmutation (2015). The band has won a number of contests including the Hard Rock Rising Canada contest (2013), the opportunity to open for hometown heroes Billy Talent (2014) and the Jack Daniel’s Supporting Act contest (2016). “Fight or Flight” ranked #4 on the best songs of 2016 at CJIM Montreal’s Rock Station and 91X in Belleville. Toronto hard rockers UFORIA announce they will be performing at Canadian Music Week on April 20th at Coalition T.O just before they take off for their Eastern Canadian tour this coming April and May presented by PureGrainaudio.com. The tour will begin on April 25th in Oshawa, ON and see UFORIA perform in nine cities across four provinces (ON/QC/NB/NS). The tour is in promotion of their latest EP ‘Fight or Flight’ released during July of last year and produced plus co-written with Finger Eleven drummer Steve Molella. The EP’s title track has been a common sound having been played regularly at the Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays games throughout the 2016 season.

UFORIA has also teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com in promotion of the tour offering a FREE download of their track ‘Radiation’ off their latest EP. The song is a warning that ecological change is inevitable and we must embrace it and evolve in order to survive.

Toronto hard rockers UFORIA will be taking their latest EP ‘Fight or Flight’ across Eastern Canada this coming April and May for a nine city tour across four provinces (ON/QC/NB/NS). The tour is presented by PureGrainaudio.com and will begin on April 25th in Oshawa, ON and wrap up with a performance at the Homegrown Festival on May 6th in Kingston, ON.

UFORIA has been a force in the GTA and southern Ontario over the years. Their third EP was released during July of last year and was produced plus co-written with Finger Eleven drummer Steve Molella. The title track has been a common sound being played regularly at the Rogers Centre during the Blue Jays games throughout the 2016 season.

“Steve has had a massive influence on myself and Uforia,” says Ursini. “He worked his butt off to make each song reach its maximum potential. I’ve learned more about songwriting and recording in the last year than ever before because of his talent and energy.”

The aggressive and riff-laden title track, which is also the lead single is about the struggle of making difficult decisions. “It was originally conceived after Adam Adam Brik, our lead guitarist hit a tree and dislocated his thumb in a snowboarding fall,” explains Ursini. “He was in so much pain and didn’t feel he could wait to be rescued. In that moment he made the choice to get himself down the mountain and seek the medical attention he needed.”

The EP continues with “Radiation”, a warning that ecological change is inevitable and we must embrace it and evolve in order to survive. “Wake Me” is about the struggle to wake up and escape the darkness of a dream world, while “Overthrow” encourages listeners to be patient and to take control of their own destiny when the moment is right. The EP closer “Is Anybody Living” is a track about facing your fears, particularly the fear of change.

Gothic rockers VAN HALST have issued a studio update on recording the follow up release to their debut album ‘World of Make Believe’ with famed Canadian producer Arnold Lanni, best known for his work with Our Lady Peace, Finger Eleven and Simple Plan.

VAN HALST was a project that first began as a solo endeavour for whom the band is named after — Kami Van Halst, but has since become a full group producing socially conscious lyrical tracks that focus on disenfranchised and marginalized populations. The band’s influences stay true to goth rock with Kami Van Halst demonstrating an agile vocal delivery in combination with pummeling growls. Lyrically, the band draws from black metal due to its focus on people suffering from isolation and rising to overcome the preconceptions of a judgmental society. In This Moment’s industrial fusion remains a primary influence for Van Halst, employing a sampler, synthesizer, and distorted vocals.
Kami Van Halst dominates as the vocalist performing both growls and soaring vocals (Surviving Suzanne), Scott Greene (Derina Harvey Band/Dirty Pool) and Tara McLeod (Kittie) craft the guitar work while Brendan McMillan (bass) (My Darkest Days) and Brett Seaton (drums) (Cultured by Fire) drive the rhythm section of the band.
