NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 23, 2019

For fans of Dethklok, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D,
Weird Al Yankovic, Primus, Stephen Lynch, Mr. Bungle

PSYCHOSTICK’s New Music Video ‘Rent In Peace’ ft. James Rolfe (Angry Video Game Nerd) Pays Homage To The Days Of Blockbuster

The days of worrying about late fees and the newest release being unavailable are over, but for some, the death of childhood favorite movie destination Blockbuster, it’s still a tragic realization. For those people – and everyone else, PSYCHOSTICK have released a music video to compliment their 2018 track ‘Rent In Peace’, an ode to days past.

‘Rent In Peace’, one of the band’s most heartfelt songs, comes from the latest album “DO” and features a cameo from James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd/Cinemassacre) and if filmed on the set of Rolfe’s “Rental Reviews”. PSYCHOSTICK comments on the cameo:

“People are probably wondering how James Rolfe ended up in one of our music videos. First of all, that video shoot was a hell of a lot of fun, James is a super chill, smart dude with a great sense of humor and good taste in beer. Speaking of beer, that’s where it all started… with the promise of a single beer back in 2010. It wasn’t until nine years later when I was finally able to deliver on the promised beer and a plan for the video was set.”

Rolfe adds: “I’m really happy about the crossover. It was lots of fun!”

For those who like comedic music ala Dethklok, Bloodhound Gang, Tenacious D, and Weird Al, PSYCHOSTICK is sure to be a hit.

The video for “Rent in Peace” can be viewed with buttery popcorn here.

“DO” is the latest full length from PSYCHOSTICK and was released during July 2018 as a surprise album that was four years in the making to follow their extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance” to continue the band’s genius of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover.

“DO” debut #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th, 2018.

Album CD order, digital download, and streaming available on Psychostick Online Store, Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify, and all other major online retailers.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band have caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released five full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014), ‘DO’ (2018) —and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic), Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

PSYCHOSTICK Posts “Socks & Sandals (Pajama Pants)” Music Video

“The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” w/ Downtown Brown, Danimal Cannon

Challenge Fans To Attend Tour Dates In Pajamas!

New Album “DO” Out Now!

The kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK are hitting the road this coming October and November for “The Socks, Sandals & PJ Pants Tour” with Downtown Brown and Danimal Cannon (dates listed below) in support of their new album “DO”. But before they hit the road, they want fans to know the comfort of Socks, Sandals and Pajama Pants with their new music video.

“Being the cutting-edge connoisseurs of fashion that we are, we decided to theme our fall tour after our new music video and undeniable style, “Socks, Sandals, and PJ Pants”. We encourage all to come to the show in comfort, and forget about overrated things like “dignity” and “self-respect”. And we want to see a pajama pants pit.” says guitarist Josh ‘The J” Key.

Watch “Socks & Sandals (Pajama Pants) at the following link:

Vocalist Rob Kersey is also challenging fans to come to all the PSYCHOSTICK shows dressed in Pajamas! and take tons of pictures with the hashtag #SSPJ

Watch Rob’s video address to the nation!

“Do” is the latest full length from PSYCHOSTICK and was released as a surprise album to the world that the band revealed this past July during a live fan engagement webcast on Twitch (watch the video here). Four years in the making to follow their extremely fan loved “IV: Revenge of The Vengeance”, “DO” continues the band’s genius of blending comedy, metal, heavy rock and the occasional spoof cover.

“DO” debut #1 on Billboard’s Comedy Albums chart along with ranking at #14 for Hard Rock Album, #39 for Rock Album, #39 for Independent Albums and #9 for Heatseekers Albums for the week of August 11th.

The band comments:

“Whelp, here it is! “Do.” This whole “surprise, nerd! New album!” experiment was extremely fun, and we’re beyond appreciative of your patience and understanding. We agree with you – four years is way too long. We hope to fix that despite what Murph says!

“Do” is our first 100% independent, label-free release since 2003! Our production process is still completely internal, but this time all profits go straight to Psychostick. This is extremely huge for us and we can’t thank you enough.

2018 marked the fifteenth anniversary of our first album, and we’re beyond excited that we’re still kickin’, making globs upon globs of comedy metal. We aim to do this until they kick us out of the old folks’ home or off of Mars. That’s right. We’re goin’ to Mars, damnit.”

Album CD order, digital download and streaming available on Psychostick Online Store, Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and all other major online retailers.

With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

– 30 –

“humorcore band Psychostick is like the Jerry Seinfeld of metal. On its fourth full-length release, IV: Revenge of The Vengeance, the band’s sound invokes similarities too oddball artists such as Mr. Bungle, GWAR, Primus, Green Jello, Scatterbrain and Austrian Death Machine, to name a few. On its 21 ridiculous tracks (including various short skits between songs), the band explores its brand of observational comedy mixed with brutal breakdowns. The band exceeds expectations by parodying popular culture, relationships and binge drinking.” – Bravewords

“Psychostick pulls the pin from a hand grenade and shoves it down the gullet of comedy. When it explodes, anyone within earshot finds themselves covered in the entrails of hilarity! These guys are off-the-chart insane. Imagine if the cast of “Jackass” formed a metal band with Andy Samberg, Sam Kinison, and Seth Rogen and then they threw a house party that made “Project X” look like amateur hour by comparison. Yeah, now you’re getting it!” – Axs

“I do like when bands like Pyschostick inject humour into songs and REVENGE OF THE VENGEANCE is pretty damn funny…The first single ‘Obey The Beard’ is magnificent and this is coming from a clean-shaven dude. It made me want to grow one. Comedy Metal fans can listen for a couple of inside Metal jokes (Captain Stupid!) and a cameo by ‘snaky’. The production is immaculate and as always these guys are as heavy as hell. Weird Al on crack. I wanted to use that phrase and I couldn’t even think how to work it into this review so I just dumped it here at the end. Humour is so subjective but I know what I like and I really like IV: REVENGE OF THE VENGEANCE.” – Metal Rules

“Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha!
Okay, give me a moment. I’m still chuckling every time I think of Psychostick’s latest 21 track album Revenge of the Vengeance. Every moment on it is filled with hilarity, from marrying beards, being afraid of ducks and then saving a crowd of people from a dimensional time portal. And I thought I’d heard it all…Tenacious D were the kings of comedy metal, but Rize of the Fenix has made it look like they’ve reached their hay day, as much as I love them. The king’s crown has to go somewhere, and for an album like this, it looks like Psychostick are next in line for the throne.” – Rock Revolt Magazine

“PSYCHOSTICK really can be described as “When Marx Brothers meet Hardcore and Metal”. Their fourth album, “IV: Revenge of the Vengeance” is not only a very tasteful album of music, but as well is a medicine for a bad mood…the entire album is excellent, no doubt about that.” – Metal Temple

“In their fourth studio album, IV: Revenge of the Vengeance, Psychostick continues to unapologetically weave facepalm-worthy masterpieces of metal.” CJLO 1690AM (Montreal)

The Kings of Comedy Rock PSYCHOSTICK Confirmed To Play 2018 WITH FULL FORCE Fest In Germany

Announce Dates For “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour”

American kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK will be leaping over the Atlantic in June 2018 to make their debut performance in Germany for the 25th Anniversary of WITH FULL FORCE Festival alongside Bullet For My Valentine, Caliban, Dagoba, Madball, Pro-Pain and more. The open air festival will be held from June 14th – 16th at the Ferropolis in Gräfenhainichen and host 4 stages with over 80 bands.

“Some backstory on how weird and awesome it is to be playing Germany. Rob and I MET in German class in high school. Psychostick likely wouldn’t EXIST if Rob and I hadn’t taken German together. We had a lot of fun screwing around in that class and pissing off the teacher. Now we’re going to Germany and I wish we had paid more attention in that class. Who would have thought that 20 years later our classroom shenanigans would come back to bite us in the ass in the most spectacular and ironic way? On another note, I’m part German and das bier und schnitzel are calling to me from across the ocean. I going to eat and drink the everything.” says guitarist Josh “J” Key.

In additional news, PSYCHOSTICK will be embarking on “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour” presented by Zildjian with support from Arsonists Get All The Girls (on select dates), Kissing Candice and Raven Black. The tour will kick off in St. Louis, MO on November 2nd and wrap up in Pittsburgh, PA on December 9th.

The band of jokesters have been busy writing new material to exclusively share with fans on this tour to follow their 2014 treasure “Revenge of The Vengeance” that featured tracks of comedy genius such as “Obey The Beard”, “Dogs Like Socks”, “Quack Kills”, “Bruce Campbell” (a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action hero), “NSFW” featuring Bill Manspeaker (founder of Green Jellÿ) plus a spoof cover of Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” among many more.

Plus the band like to remind fans that No-Shave November is getting near and to be aware by embracing their hair, which many cancer patients lose and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. They ask fans to share their video “Obey The Beard” with the hashtags #obeythebeard and #noshaveovember and to please donate to https://no-shave.org/.

With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released four full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014)—and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic) their most recent offering, the crowd-funded ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance‘ includes the beard anthem ‘Obey the Beard’ and popular ‘Dogs Like Socks’, ‘Quack Kills’, ‘So. Heavy.’, ‘Blue Screen’, and a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action super hero, ‘Bruce Campbell’. Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!
