NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 27, 2021

For Fans of Ulcerate, Deathspell Omega

Canada’s Eclipser Unleash “To Never Wake Again” From New EP “Pages” Out May 28th

Track Premiere via TheCirclePit

Top L-R – Christian Beaupre – Guitar, Sebastien Choquette – Bass
Bottom L-R – Ryan Menard – Guitar, Vocals, Chris Joyal – Drums

Eclipser’s “Pages” is a dark and brooding sojourn through dissonant soundscapes that write with negativity and melody. The EP primarily resides in the black metal realm however, Eclipser also writes using techniques that are found in death metal, and even a bit of grindcore and maintain a formulaic style. According to guitarist/vocalist Ryan Menard, he personally strives to master what he does rather than trying to do it all.

Today, the band presents their first single from “Pages”. Entitled “To Never Wake Again”, the track is two and half minutes into the depths of uncertainty while enjoying both a pristine and bludgeoning experience of extreme metal.

“To Never Wake Again depicts the life-denying voice of reason that manifests internally when one’s existence is reduced to meaningless suffering. A depressive mentality that justifies taking the ultimate easy way out, offering the afflicted the suggestion of a painless solution. This song is the lowest point of the record, with punishing riffs and an overall negative atmosphere that builds towards a soulful and cathartic guitar solo. In short, we’re bringing the bad vibes.” adds Menard.

“To Never Wake Again” can be heard via its premiere on TheCirclePit YouTube channel HERE.

“Pages” is harsh and succinct, the five tracks make up for a total runtime of under 15 minutes, it was produced by Eclipser; mixed by Mike Raymond of Reverence Audio, and mastered by Topon Das (Fuck The Facts) at Apartment 2 Recording. The EP artwork was done by Misanthropic-Art. It is the fourth release from the band following Pathos (2019), Promo (2018), and the 2017 Demo.

Eclipser was founded in 2017 by Ryan Menard (guitars/vocals) and Chris Joyal (drums), they are recommended for fans of Ulcerate, and Deathspell Omega.

The entire EP releases on May 28, 2021.

About:
A name derived from the all-obscuring sound they produce, Ottawa, Ontario’s ECLIPSER spews forth a foreboding polarity of soaring melodies and nightmarish dissonance, coiled together to create a dreadful malaise of blackened death metal promised to starve the light of everything it touches.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 10, 2019

For fans of Blackened Death Metal, Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Abbath, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir

NECRONOMICON Premiere NSFW Music Video For “The Thousand Masks”

New Album “UNUS” Out Now! via Season of Mist

Canadian blackened death metal masters NECRONOMICON have partnered up with Dread Central to premiere their horror-fueled music video for the song, ‘The Thousand Masks’. The track is taken from the band’s latest record, “UNUS”, which was released this October via Season of Mist. The NSFW video, which serves as a cautionary tale of why you shouldn’t mess with the grimoire, can be seen HERE.

Speaking of the video, Rob “The Witch” comments:

“Over 30 years ago we started a project called Necronomicon writing about H.P. Lovecraft mythos and with time passing, we decided to pay homage to the origin of our name and fully embrace it. The stars are aligned the time is right to reveal the many forms under ‘The Thousand Masks.’”

NECRONOMICON‘s new album “UNUS” is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambiance, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the orchestral prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres. Standout tracks like ‘Paradise Lost’ and ‘Singularis Dominus’ only solidify NECRONOMICON’s ability to continuously produce high-quality metal that’s just as dark and brutal as it is elegant.

About:
Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary grimoire, NECRONOMICON formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” in the deep, northern part of Canadian province Quebec, Fjord of Saguenay. NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled ‘Morbid Ritual’ (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. ‘The Silver Key”EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album ‘Pharaoh Of Gods” (1999) and the sophomore ‘The Sacred Medicines’ (2003) did even more to establish the band as a household name in Canada.‘Return Of The Witch’ (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Their steady advance around the globe grew considerably in impact by their next full-length “Rise Of The Elder Ones” (2013). By the time the band released ‘Advent Of The Human God’ (2016), they were met with international critical acclaim. Now, with ‘Unus’ out October 18, 2019, the band show that they aren’t slowing down and are ready to deliver another vicious strike! Prepare for the darkness to envelop you. In 2019, NECRONOMICON was presented with a certificate of honor for over 30 years of service via H.S. production/Tommy Tremblay, and the people of Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, making them the second band after VOIVOD to ever receive this honor.

– 30 –

“Best moments of BEHEMOTH and symphonic death à la GODFLESH APOCALYPSE while remaining entirely Necronomicon.” – Bravewords

“Advent of the Human God is a truly diverse album, perfectly balancing plenty of atmosphere with their iconic chugging riffs and pummelling blast beats.” – Exclaim!

“Advent of the Human God boasts both a Behemoth-like epic savage grace and Dimmu-esque orchestral pomp. But it also delivers a more primal ferocity and maintains the thematic air that has become Necronomicon’s forte” – Metal Rules

“”Their sound is akin to an Anti-Christ infant spawned from the blasphemous union of Dimmu Borgir and Behemoth.”” – Metal Underground

“The drums crash like Nordic avalanches on tracks like “Alchemy of the Avatar.” With its blazing jugular seeking guitar riffs and crazed piano breaks over top double kick drum insanity, this last song makes for a perfect ending to a blistering listen.” – Beatroute (AB)

“‘Necronomicon opened the show with a thoroughly impressive display of symphonic death metal… The best way to describe them would be a symphonic version of Winds of Creation-era Decapitated, with perhaps some Vital Remains mixed in. Lots of cool grooves and hair spinning moments!’” – Metal Injection (Live Review)

NECRONOMICON Release New Track ‘Singularis Dominus’ Off Upcoming Album “UNUS”

New Album ‘UNUS’ Out October 18, 2019 via Season of Mist

Montreal’s premier blackened death metallers NECRONOMICON are back with “UNUS”, the crushing and cinematic follow up to 2016’s “Advent of the Human God”. The latest single ‘Singularis Dominus’ is ready to be unleashed and can be heard HERE.

Rob The Witch adds:

“For thousands of years, mankind has been believing in a murderous and treacherous false God that has done nothing because they doe not exist. I’m flabergasted that in 2019 some people still believe in this insanity. It is time for humans to become their own masters and reclaim their souls for their own.”

The track follows the band’s earlier released first single ‘Paradise Lost’ available to listen here.

‘UNUS’ is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambiance, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 22, 2019

For fans of Blackened Death Metal, Behemoth, Cradle of Filth, Abbath, Immortal, Dimmu Borgir

NECRONOMICON Release New Song “Paradise Lost” via Exclaim!

New Album ‘UNUS’ Out October 18, 2019 via Season of Mist

Canadian blackened death horde NECRONOMICON have partnered with Exclaim! to premiere “Paradise Lost”, the first single from their upcoming record, ‘UNUS’. You can listen to the song here.

NECRONOMICON vocalist/guitarist Rob the Witch comments about the song’s concept, “‘It’s not what we gain in this life, but what we have lost as living beings that lost their way in conforming against our true nature to fit in a world that in reality is just an illusion.”

‘UNUS’ is due on October 18 via Season of Mist and can be pre-ordered here.

In addition to the song premiere, NECRONOMICON was just awarded a special Canadian certificate of honor for having a successful career of 31 years via H.S. Productions, Tommy Tremblay, and the people of the band’s hometown in Saguenay Lac St. Jean, QC. The only other band to ever receive this honor is VOIVOD, making it all that more special.

Montreal’s premier blackened death metallers are back with ‘UNUS’, the crushing and cinematic follow up to 2016’s ‘Advent of the Human God.’ With each record NECRONOMICON has created in the span of their 31-year career, the band has steadily evolved in both sound and power; ‘UNUS’ is no exception to this.

Inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s legendary grimoire, NECRONOMICON formed in 1988 by founding guitarist and singer Rob “The Witch” in the deep, northern part of Canadian province Quebec, Fjord of Saguenay. Since then, the band have carefully released each full-length without haste, allowing them to perfect every nuance before unleashing their sonic assaults upon the masses. In 2019, NECRONOMICON was presented with a certificate of honor for over 30 years of service via H.S. production/Tommy Tremblay, and the people of Saguenay Lac-St-Jean, making them the second band after VOIVOD to ever receive this honor.

‘UNUS’ is a searing cacophony of blistering riffs, machine-like drums, and a symphonic ambiance, culminating in a sound that calls to various metal icons such as DIMMU BORGIR, SEPTICFLESH, BEHEMOTH, and DEICIDE. The record combines the furious elements of death metal with the orchestral prowess of black metal, creating the perfect synthesis of both genres. Standout tracks like “Paradise Lost” and “Singularis Dominus” only solidify NECRONOMICON’s ability to continuously produce high quality metal that’s just as dark and brutal as it is elegant.

NECRONOMICON have a well-earned reputation for quality by releasing material only when ready and satisfied with the outcome ever since their demo entitled ‘Morbid Ritual’ (1992) firmly established their name within the underground. ‘The Silver Key’ EP (1996) led to mainstream recognition on a national level, but their debut album ‘Pharaoh Of Gods’ (1999) and the sophomore ‘The Sacred Medicines’ (2003) did, even more, to establish the band as a household name in Canada.

‘Return Of The Witch’ (2010) marked the international break-through for NECRONOMICON, and saw them performing at prestigious festivals such as Inferno (Norway), Ragnarok (Germany), and the Barge To Hell metal cruise among others, while sharing stages with acts such as CRADLE OF FILTH, DIMMU BORGIR, BEHEMOTH, and MORBID ANGEL, to name but a few. Unleashing their new EP ‘Extinction Necromance’ last week on May 19th to follow 2012’s full length ‘Malignance‘, Vernon, BC blackened death metal band XUL is destroying the pit with their new music video for their track ‘Orbit of Nemesis’, which can be viewed at the following link here.
“We’ve always loved playing live and our live experience has become one of the bands best traits. With our first video, we’ve tried our best to capture that experience to show people who haven’t yet or can’t get to a show what we’re all about.” comments guitarist Bill Ferguson.
‘Extinction Necromance’ is now streaming and available for download at following link here along with CD and shirt combos available here.
About:
Following in the footsteps of bands such as Behemoth, Dissection, and Immortal, XUL has left the beaten path to forge their own brand of blackened death metal that’s overflowing with crushing rhythms seamlessly coalescing into atmospheric passages and accompanied by a storm of punishing percussion with vicious vocal harmonies to expand on their previous work on Malignance.

This follow up EP, ‘Extinction Necromance’ heralds a new age of northern darkness with songs reminiscent of cold lonely tombs, malevolent intent and predatory nature. XUL captivates audiences like light attracts flies as they delve deeper into the maelstrom and build on an already impressive Western Canadian following that has seen them support heavyweights including Obscura, Exhumed, Vreid, Kampfar, Woods of Ypres, Macabre, Withered, Cephalic Carnage, Archspire and 3 Inches of Blood.

“Extinction Necromance is a release which wholly captivates whilst hitting the listener with a tsunami of malevolent sound and intent.” – Ring Master Review

“Xul is a up and coming blackened death metal band that certainly have all the chops necessary to hang with the big boys like Behemoth.” – That Metal Station

“Their latest four track EP, ‘Extinction Necromance’, spanning thirty minutes, is an energetic offering packed with crushing rhythms that morph into atmospheric passages, accompanied by waves of pummelling percussion and vicious vitriolic vocals all with an underlying aura of malevolence.” – Metal Talk

“When you have a band who takes all the best elements of Death Metal and Black Metal without being cliche or too big for their britches, THAT’S a winning combination. Such is the case with Vernon, British Columbia’s own XUL, a five-piece metal machine hell-bent on watching the world burn….XUL has what it takes to gain themselves legions of new followers in the Blackened Death realm with each coming record. I’m very excited to see what happens next. Extinction Necromance is out May 19, so don’t delay!! STANDOUT TRACKS: ALL OF THEM” – Amps and Green Screens

“Black Metal fans, get ready- XUL is ready to take over the world and their latest record,Extinction Necromance- may help them do just that. In the vein of bands like Behemoth and Immortal, XUL could be the next big thing in the genre and Extinction Necromance is the perfect follow up to their last record- Malignanceand picks up right where they left off a few years ago.” – The Front Row Report

“Chaos Requiem’ is my favourite track from this release. A guitar sound captured well again by Jeff Bryan and delivered supremely by the band. What separated this track from the rest for me was how the vocals were delivered with a connection to the drums and guitar riffs, there was a greater natural feeling – not a second was wasted and attention was demanded throughout….Xul clearly have riffs by the bucket load though. Any fans of Behemoth and Dissection must check this band out.” Taste of Khaos Magazine

“This new CD contains 4 tracks forged in a quite peculiar and solid mix of death metal and black metal. Actually, these musicians took the best lines and structures from both genres and added a very provocative dose of technical metal and morbid vocals; the result is superlative as you never get bored with these large tracks. Everything is tied by high quality structures and for moments they developed some excellent sections in the vein of progressive stuff, and that gives a particular taste as all tracks sound quite balanced. Also, I have to say that they don’t forget the true spirit of metal music and you can hear thick roots of epic lines here and there. My total support is for bands like this one who really know how to deliver good things and build aggressive metal music with class and good taste.” – Zombie Ritual Zine
