Founded in Ottawa in 2010 with a singular purpose to transform raw aggression into music, ACCURSED SPAWN mixes influences from old and new forms of extreme metal, resulting to date in a renowned energetic live show, and a handful of recorded songs.

Set to unleash their debut full length “The Virulent Host” on March 22, 2019, via PRC Music, the band will be hitting the road for shows in Quebec and Ontario, which includes performing their local album launch show in Ottawa on March 30th and on May 3rd date of PRC Music’s 3-day fest Metal Bash in Montreal, QC. (dates listed below.)

Show Dates:
March 23 – Rimouski, QC – Spect’Art Rimouski-Salle Desjardins-Telus (PRC Music Metal Bash Showcase) – info
March 30 – Ottawa, ON – Cafe Dekcuf – (Album Release Show) – info – w/ Bookakee, A Scar For The Wicked, Messora
April 12 – Quebec City, QC – Le D’Auteuil – info w/ The Flaying (CD Release Show), Spirit of Rebellion
May 3 – Montreal, QC – Piranha Bar (PRC Music Metal Bash Fest) – info

With a unique sound and style that stands apart from the crowd, ACCURSED SPAWN‘s debut full length is the next step in the band’s evolution of musical expression to follow a mix of demos and EPs since 2010.

“The Virulent Host” is a fiery and passionate take on modern death metal, influenced by thrash and brutal death that stands head and shoulders above many of their contemporaries. The production quality truly stands among the titans of death metal, thanks to Chris Donaldson, guitarist for legendary death metal unit Cryptopsy applying his talents and experience to mix and master the album at The Grid Studios in Montreal, QC. Donaldson has previously worked on records for high profile names such as Cryptopsy, Beyond Creation, Despised Icon, The Agonist, Beneath The Massacre, and Neuraxis. The artwork was done by highly esteemed artist Remy Cooper of Headsplit Design (Origin, Beyond Creation, Psycroptic, Pig Destroyer, Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Cryptopsy, Suicide Silence, Arch Enemy).

The band adds:

“‘The Virulent Host’ represents a huge step up in all ways for Accursed Spawn: the production is exceptional (thanks to Christian Donaldson and The Grid), the hooks are quite memorable, the string work is phenomenal (between the blistering solos and fretless bass, there’s quite a lot in there for string players), and the delivery is both consistent but also fresh. It’s our first ever “full length” record and fans that have been with the band since our inception should be quite pleased with the delivery. We’ve road-tested most of the songs at this point, and the mosh pits speak for themselves.”

“Canadian death metal machine Accursed Spawn are snapping necks with their fast-paced, groove-heavy take on the genre, as you’ll hear on “Bhopal ’84.” Leading with angular riffs before settling into a whiplash-inducing groove, Accursed Spawn inject brief bursts of technicality throughout the song, keeping it engaging throughout the four minutes.” – Decibel Magazine

“Right out of the gate they explode in a brutal, hyper-accelerated frenzy of munitions-grade drumming, machine-gun riffing, and guttural roaring.” – No Clean Singing

“A barrage of thunderous drums is complemented by sometimes intricate guitar work that will just tear you ears apart. These guys barely slow down long enough for you to take half a breath.” – The Metal Crypt

“Death Metal Worth Its Salt” – Yell! Magazine

“‘Bhopal 84’ is anger with a purpose, the brutal and violent lyrics of death metal hit so much harder when you realize that the horrors they are describing are accounts of a true event. “As long as corporate greed overshadows human need, the elite will succeed whilst the rest of us bleed” Luke Wargasm roars, and it is impossible not to share his anger towards a faceless corporation that is responsible for the deaths of so many without consequence. Whilst the lyrics and message are commendable, they would mean nothing if the music wasn’t up to scratch. ‘Bhopal 84’ sees ‘Accursed Spawn’ at the top of their game with thundering drums and savage riffs throughout. Easily one of the best songs that ‘Accursed Spawn’ have released so far, we are very excited to see how the band progress in their upcoming debut.” – Spirit Level Magazine

Signed to PRC Music, ACCURSED SPAWN will be unleashing their debut full length “The Virulent Host” on March 22, 2019. With a unique sound and style that stands apart from the crowd, the full length is the next step in the band’s evolution of musical expression to follow a mix of demos and EPs since 2010.

Guitarist Adam Pell adds.

“We want to offer an intense, yet rewarding listening experience for both musicians and non-musicians alike. Fast, dextrous playing coupled with subtly melodic compositions that can be enjoyed by both the trained and untrained ear. Out first single “Bhopal ’84” will give a good deal of insight into what people can expect from this record: it kicks off with blistering guitar and drum work, jumps into a catchy verse, and presents a very slamming bridge near the end of the song, followed by tasty solo work. It has a nice “Suffocation meets Cryptopsy” feel but is still uniquely Accursed Spawn.”

Hailing from Ottawa, Canada, Misshapen are a diverse and melodic metal band blending elements of death metal, technical metal, and black metal. They are releasing their EP ‘Transcendence’ February 8, 2019, and now present the official music video for ‘The Swarm’.

Capturing the attention of audiences since 2016, Misshapen seeps melodies with harsh vocals, further ignited with technical riffs and meaningful lyrics. ‘The Swarm’ is the most ferocious track on the EP and would be recommended to fans of Ne Obliviscaris, Children of Bodom, At the Gates, and Dimmu Borgir.

The band shares their thoughts on the track:

“It’s the black metal song of the EP, filled with dark riffs and horrific orchestration that revisits early Dimmu Borgir days. The lyrical inspiration was derived from ‘Castlevania’ the series. It means that people who follow a corrupt leader will bring a sense of hell on earth. This song intelligently showcases how we visit the other side of the spectrum of the emotion we generally induce in our music.”

Powerful and enthralling, the video was shot and produced by Dark Moon Productions and Silver Wings Studios and can be viewed at the following link via Beheading The Traitor Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ufg9clBOadI

The five-track EP ‘Transcendence’ will be available on February 8, 2019. This will be the first release after their 2016 demo and promises to be adventurous, dark and distinct.

“The whole record is an adventure; the sequencing flows well from song to song and is bumpered nicely by an intro that sets the mood, plus an outro that gently brings things to a close, returning the listener safely back to their respective realities. At the end of the day, I definitely think Trollwar is onto something here; they are proudly waving the folk-metal banner and are destined for big things.”

”The vocals are abrasively savage, and the swirling keyboard melody is like ear heroin. I can’t help myself — the song pushes too many buttons for me to resist.” – No Clean Singing

“OATH OF THE STORM has a wave of well-written catchy songs, good production, lots of intensity and power as well, which is something some of the other bands lack. TrollWar is a pretty appropriate name for this enjoyable act and OATH OF THE STORM is one of the more intense Folk Metal albums out this year.” – Metal Rules

“All the songs on this LP are FAR better than anything else I have heard from the band.” – Butterflyman

”the tracks are face smashing and memorable with enough layers to satisfy even the most tech savvy of you folksters”…….”It’s hard to necessarily give you specifics other than multiple layers of instrumentation, blast beats, keys and symphonic touches with shredding guitar and vocals.”- Folk Metal.NL

”Epic, yet down to earth, beautiful yet destructive, these are all things that embody Trollwar” – Two Guys Metal

”The 7-piece band plays a mixture of epic black metal, melodic death metal and folk metal, influenced by the big names of the genre” – Metal Soundscapes

SHORT BIO:

Hailing from Alma Québec, Trollwar combine the best elements of folk, melodic death and black metal into something vital, potent and uniquely their own. Building on the foundations created by the likes of Finntroll and Amon Amarth they forge fiery folky metal that is unique and complex.

Since starting their quest in 2011, they have leveled past their folk roots and have taken a darker, more powerful path becoming more versatile and utilizing more inspiration from bands such as Wintersun and Luca Turilli. The symphonic and power metal elements continue to shine amongst the harshness of the folk and black metal with themes pulled from the works of Tolkien and Lovecraft.

Playing with a myriad of heavy hitters such as Kalmah, Alestorm and Arkona and with an inventory of well-received releases: ‘Bloodshed Forges’ EP (2011); ‘Earthdawn Groves’ LP (2013); and ‘The Traveler’s Path’ EP (2017); Trollwar are working mightily to forge a new LP ‘Oath of the Storm’ for 2018, that will feature their trademark ‘symphony, brutality, darkness, ambiance, and power!’.

LONG BIO:

Hailing from Alma Québec, Trollwar combine the best elements of folk, melodic death and black metal into something vital, potent and uniquely their own. Building on the foundations created by the likes of Finntroll and Amon Amarth they forge fiery folky metal that is unique and complex.

A fierce war party of long term friends with a passion for LARP events and festivals, TROLLWAR consists of Steeve Jobin-Fortin (guitar), Yanick Tremblay (drums), Mathieu Chauvette (guitars), Keven Villeneuve (bass), Simon-Pierre Fortin-Leclerc (vocals) and Jonathan Mathieu (accordion).

Eager to etch their mark on the metal scene, their live shows are full of the brutality and energy that each one of them brings to the stage, albeit often times, in close quarters:

“Live, the listener can expect something epic! 6 metalheads banging their head offs and playing the instrument they like the most. Epic breakdowns and melodies, pretty good entertainment in general. It’s harder to move on the stage when you are 6 and you play in small venues, but don’t fool yourself. It won’t keep the energy from being thrown in your face from the stage.”

Looking to become the band they never saw, Killitorous is comprised of the passion to grind and the general love of technical death metal. Formed in 2006 in Ottawa, Canada; Killitorous is made up of current and former members of Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Annihilator and a myriad of other bands.

Determined to sound like a combination of their one million favorite death metal bands they envelop technical death metal in an eternal party. A bit cheeky and a metric fuck ton of fun, Killitorous is that raunchy but charismatic friend who fuels every party. Killitorous is a chaotic concoction, best described as technical party chaos death grind and it’s a true 90s death metal experience complete with one hell of an AfterParty!

LONG BIO
Looking to become the band they never saw, Killitorous is comprised of the passion to grind and the general love of technical death metal. Formed in 2006 in Ottawa, Canada; Killitorous is made up of current and former members of Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Annihilator and a myriad of other bands. Determined to sound like a combination of their one million favorite death metal bands they envelop technical death metal in an eternal party. A bit cheeky and a metric fuck ton of fun, Killitorous is that raunchy but charismatic friend who fuels every party. Working together in 90’s style, Aaron Homma (guitar) writes the main bits (sometimes with members of other bands), Nick Miller (guitar) and Marc Roy (guitar) sprinkle in the harmonies, Eric Morotti (drums) thickens the sauce and the lyrics are written together.

“It’s fucked up really if you think about it”, quips Mat Dhani (vocals), “We name the songs first, which are based on the funniest most memorable topics and scenarios we could come up with. Some true, mostly crazy.”

The demo “Pretend to Make Babies” was released in 2010 and their debut full-length album “Party, Grind” was released in 2014. 5 years later, the continuation of that album will be released in 2019, the aptly named “AfterParty”. It’s more melodic in sound but they’ve ramped up the technically with 3 no- stop guitar harmonies. Killitorous is a chaotic concoction, best described as technical party chaos death grind and it’s a true 90s death metal experience complete with one hell of an AfterParty!

ACCURSED SPAWN Unleash A Brutal Dose of “Bhopal ’84” via Decibel Magazine

Signs To PRC Music For 2019 Debut Album “A Virulent Host”

L-R – Weiyun Lu (Bass), Max Warwick (Vocals), Jay Cross (Drums), Adam Pell (Guitar)

Founded in Ottawa in 2010 with a singular purpose to transform raw aggression into music, ACCURSED SPAWN mixes influences from old and new forms of extreme metal, resulting to date in a renowned energetic live show, and a handful of recorded songs.

Announcing their signing to PRC Music, ACCURSED SPAWN will be unleashing their debut full length “The Virulent Host” next year in 2019. With a unique sound and style that stands apart from the crowd, the full length is the next step in the band’s evolution of musical expression to follows a mix of demos and EPs since 2010.

“We’re incredibly excited to officially call ourselves part of the PRC family! We couldn’t have found a better partner to release The Virulent Host with, and look forward to unleashing this beast upon the world with the help of Rémi and the team at PRC!” says drummer Jay Cross.

Artwork was done by highly esteemed artist Remy Cooper of Headsplit Design (Origin, Beyond Creation, Psycroptic, Pig Destroyer, Whitechapel, Thy Art Is Murder, Cryptopsy, Suicide Silence, Arch Enemy).

As fans will need to wait till next year for the release of “The Virulent Host”, ACCURSED SPAWN will not let them wait too long to hear the first single off the debut. Partnering up with Decibel Magazine, the band is premiering “Bhopal ’84”, one of nine songs planned to assault fans off the album.

It has a nice “Suffocation meets Cryptopsy” feel but is still uniquely Accursed Spawn.” adds guitarist Adam Pell.

About:

Teramobil first appeared in 2010 when Unhuman’s Mathieu Bérubé and Alexandre Dupras had some time off and started creating a new form of ”riffing” where different styles plus current would collide to structure themselves in a very distinct way for every individual song. Spending the first year gathering ideas and writing compositions, they started seeking a bass player to complete the instrumental trio. Bassist Dominic ”Forest” Lapointe finally joined during fall 2011. Being a frequent visitor of the pair’s famous jams, he proposed to start playing with them in order to bring a third vision to this musical exploration.

The trio recorded their first EP ”Multispectral Supercontinuum” in 2013 and supported it with a video for the release’s title-track along with multiple performances in the Montreal area along bands such as Cryptopsy, Gorguts and Animals As Leaders.

With their new album ”Magnitude Of Thoughts” coming out in late 2016, the band seeks to push the envelope further, still offering lots of variety, but with longer song structures, developing darker progressive ambiance while retaining a chaotic rock groove. On ‘Magnitude of Thoughts’, the three musicians have invited Gorguts’ Luc Lemay as second guitarist on the song ”Thanatonaut” as well as Augury’s Antoine Baril who played organ on the title track.

You are invited to follow Teramobil on this musical journey where norms are non-existant and where non-typical art researchers might be interested. To be continued!

About:

INVERTED SERENITY unleashed their latest creation ‘Integral’ on October 9th to follow up to their 2013 debut album ‘Manifestation of Eternity in a World of Time”. ‘Integral’ is a gateway into the infinite fractal nature of the minds of Drew (Parasitism) on guitar, backing vocals, Ben (Moira) on drums, backing vocals, Tom on bass, lead vocals, and Marco on guitar. Topics are inspired from works of many psychonaughts akin to Carl Jung, involving transcendental, philosophies, global tribe mentality, the impermanence of the physical world, and alchemy. Their riffs range from atmospheric black-metal grooves, old-school inspired death metal passages, thrash riffs, progressive technical journeys, and everything in between for an extremely energetic onslaught of sounds.
