This past September, Montreal’s Eternal Closure unleashed the new album “At the Center of It All – Chapter I”. It is a diverse, heavier, and more technical record than anything they have done before. Demonstrating their songwriting abilities being taken to a new level along with incorporating elements of prog, and djent with their solid core base. The band is sharing with fans a behind the scene glimpse into the making of the record in the studio with producer Chris Donaldson, which can be viewed at https://youtu.be/hEo-aNRtWcc

“The album tracking was such a fun time and we thought it would be interesting to share this experience with our audience.” adds the band.

Composed of six tracks, “At the Center of It All – Chapter I” is the first of two parts that will have 13 in total. The band split their material like this to allow for maximum breathing time for each release. The second part can be expected next year.

Like their previous records, the album was produced, mixed, and mastered by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy), who has become an integral part of the band’s sound. The album artwork was done by Pascal Marcoux and Jonathan Lauzon.

The band is a fun one to watch live, they don’t take themselves too seriously, and the rare sight of three guitarists adds an extra dimension to their music that you never knew you were missing out on. “At the Center of It All – Chapter I” is an incredible-sounding record that will blow people’s minds. It is recommended for fans of Periphery, Killswitch Engage, and As I Lay Dying.

“At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I” was released on September 23, 2022 and can be heard on Eternalclosure.bandcamp.com, Spotify.

About:

Eternal Closure is a six-piece, female-fronted metal band from Montreal, Quebec. They stand out from the heavy local scene with their unique blend of aggressive riffs, versatile vocals, and epic melodies. They draw inspiration from various sub-genres such as metalcore, progressive metal, and djent. Their hard work and dedication is only matched by their excessive love for cats.

The group formed by guitarist and singer Olivier Boitel, bassist Jonathan Lauzon, and drummer Philippe Boitel, was recently joined by vocalist Katrine Castonguay as well as guitarists Marine Lacarrière and Phil Lemelin, to evolve into its ultimate form.

The band has created their most ambitious record to date, “At the Center of It All”. The album will be split into two chapters, the first of which will be released in the fall of 2022. The song “Practice What You Preach” will be released as a single a few months prior.

The album was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Cryptopsy’s guitarist and sound engineer Christian Donaldson (Shadow of Intent, Beyond Creation, Despised Icon, The Agonist).

Over the past decade, the band explored what makes them unique. Their songs “I Won’t Fall” and “Defying Gravity” have become a staple in Montreal’s metal scene. They have opened for renowned bands like The Agonist, Ice Nine Kills, Beyond Creation, Obey the Brave, and Red Handed Denial.

Eternal Closure is ready to make its breakthrough in the global metal community and is eager to work relentlessly to reach as many cat-loving metalheads out there as possible!

“There is really only one way to listen to At the Centre of It all – Chapter 1 by Eternal Closure, and that is very loud indeed! So, turn your music listening device up to maximum volume and prepare your ears for the sweet and sour sound of modern metal at its very best. At the Centre of It All – Chapter 1 has elements of Death Metal, Melodic Metal and Nu Metal in a full-on metal cocktail that just works so well it will leave you crying out for more!” – Metal Epidemic

“Okay, color us pretty impressed by this one. If you’re unfamiliar with Eternal Closure, you won’t be for long. They’re pretty clearly a metal band that should have a lot of fans across the world, and it seems more are taking notice of their fairly unique sound. With influences ranging across the spectrums of death metal, thrash metal, metalcore, and even progressive leanings, the band’s new song “Dimensions Apart” is a good way to get acquainted.” – The New Fury

“their metalcore has been bulked up by a new vocalist and a revamped lineup that now features three guitarists and male/female vocal interplay. They take advantage of their bolstered abilities with songs that let them stand out, like the dueling harmonies from the singers on “Exiled” and a vast-sounding conclusion to “Moonrider.” … the six tracks reach across metalcore to thrash, progressive, and ambient avenues. It’s clear with this release that the behind-the-scenes shifts over the last two to three years have worked to Eternal Closure’s benefit.” – Heavy Music HQ

“ETERNAL CLOSURE deliver a modern, powerful album. The djent-driven rhythmic pushes the songs forward, so do the three guitars with their mighty sound. As they’re alternating with more peaceful and melodious moments, the music comes along with a good variety. The mixed vocals add a wide emotional palette fitting to the personal lyrics. The decision to split “At The Center Of It All” into two chapters is welcomed here, as 30 minutes is a good, short-whiled playing time, and makes me looking forward to Part 2.” – Mostly Metal

Montreal’s [Evertrapped] Share Behind The Scenes Video “Making of Sorrow (Nothing More In Between)”

Offer New Album “The Last Extinction” For Only $1 via Bandcamp

Prior to unleashing their fourth studio album “The Last Extinction” this past May, Montreal melodic death metal quintet [EVERTRAPPED] shared the music video for the single “Sorrow (Nothing More In Between)”. Today, the band is showing fans the behind the scenes shooting of the video, which was filmed at the top of a high rise building in downtown Montreal during a very hot and humid day.

Watch the band’s endurance during the “Making of Sorrow (Nothing More In Between)” HERE.

The music video for “Sorrow (Nothing More In Between)” can be viewed HERE.

[Evertrapped]’s new album “The Last Extinction” is also being offered by the band for download on Bandcamp for only $1 HERE along with it available on Spotify and Apple Music.

Released on May 22, 2020, “The Last Extinction” is a mix of the band’s sound that was defined on “The Anomaly” (2012) and “Under The Deep” (2015). With influences ranging from death metal to melodic death primarily, along with some classic thrash and speed metal, which explains their technicality and diversity sonically, the album overall will give fans a very heavy post-apocalypse feel. It’s meant to mix the dark and light of the end of all things. Fans of Arch Enemy, Persefone, Whitechapel, Death, and Fleshgod Apocalypse will feel the whirlwind of aggression.

Vocalist James Brookes adds:

“The album overall has a very heavy post-apocalypse feel. It’s meant to mix the dark and light of the end of all things. For example, how the end would bring about great darkness so to speak in our minuscule occupied area of the universe, but at the same time it brings about this unexpected sense of bittersweet relief. Some songs are more down to earth in their subject matter but none the less written in an abstract way, whereas others take a more third-person look at this apocalyptic feel from a universal standpoint. I suppose the genre of the lyrics would be an equal mix of science fiction, fantasy, and dystopia.”

Since 2007, [Evertrapped] has brought together their collective experience from the Montreal metal scene to create their heavy brand of melodic death metal. The guitarists Frederick Dupuis (ex-Daggerfalls) and Vincent Benoit hammer out raw guitar while drummer Eric Lemire (ex-Apocalypsys, ex-Ice Castle) pummels the drums. Their versatile frontman James Brookes (ex-Ammonia, ex-One Final Moment, Continuum) easily alternates between strong clear vocals and low bellowing screams giving listeners the illusion of more than one vocalist. John Yates (ex-AraPacis) weaves together each song with his driving bass lines to keep the energy of the punishing track at an all-time high.

Their lyrics come from two places. One from the dark and exaggerated metaphors for things actually based on personal events. The other is lyrics that are only loosely based in reality and have an almost fantasy-like appeal. Sometimes the reality can be based on what could be the actual state of the world as it is or an image of a future where the world is on the brink of an apocalypse. The overall idea is that the lyrics are not meant to be understood at face value in any way. It’s an art form that’s open to interpretation by the listener.

Track Listing:
1. Sorrow (Nothing More In Between) (7:35)
2. Truth Behind Disorder (5:30)
3. Across The Disease (5:49)
4. Titan (5:52)
5. The First Machine (5:59)
6. The Last Extinction (6:10)
7. Illusion (7:08)
8. Stillborn Era (5:26)
9. Learning To Kill (7:52)
Album Length:  57:24

“If you’re looking for some heavy Lamb Of God vibes, heavier than the newer Lamb Of God has to offer, this is the band you’ve been needing in your life. The main chunk of the song(Sorrow (Nothing More In Between)) is straight to the point heavy metal. Harsh, aggressive, and ready to go.” – Metal Injection

“Canada’s Evertrapped show mainstream appeal to their music and come out with an aggressive, yet melodic mindset on their 4th release. The songs are alternative metal in nature and feature an accessible sound. They are abrasive in an almost hardcore manner, but manage to be simplistic at the same time. The Last Extinction is pleasing to listen to, but heavy enough to have a more metallic appeal… Evertrapped should appeal to a variety of music fans.” – Heavy Music Headquarters“The Canadian band needs very little time to demonstrate their interpretation of melodic extreme metal. Unlike the polished styles of the subgenre, this is a bit nastier, more rambunctious, with a certain groove/thrash anger. It is melodic extreme metal but with a grimy, dirty street anger or toughness.” – The Metal Bulletin

“The fourth album from [Evertrapped] will charm a lot of people who are into melodic death metal.” – Grimm Gent

” These guys cover several bases sonically at the same time, giving them an edge – and an unexpected addition to my summer listening!” 100 Percent Rock
