One Man Prog Shred-A-Thon INFINITEE Premieres New Playthrough Medley “Xenocybin + Lost” via Idobi Radio

“The Possibilities Are Endless” Out Now!

Tres Thomas – Photo Credit: Kirsten Robinson

Forming his one man shred-a-thon INFINITEE in 2016, Tres Thomas, guitarist of death metal band Tales Of The Tomb created the iconoclastic beast to forge his own musical path different from the extremes he usually performs. Inspired by My Chemical Romance, Dance Gavin Dance, Plini, Modern Day Babylon, The Contortionist, INFINITEE’s sound is a mix of djenty, heavy, dynamic, melodic and progressive influences as showcased on his recently released debut album “The Possibilities Are Endless”.

Teaming up with Idobi Radio, INFINITEE is sharing with fans a new guitar playthrough medley for “Xenocybin” and “Lost” at the following link: http://ido.bi/5qy

Thomas comments:

“I’m so stoked to premiere the new play through to everyone! It’s been a lot of hard work making the video, so I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did making it! It’s a double feature of both songs Xenocybin and Lost. Both songs tell a story about taking alien mushrooms and getting lost in your own mind during the trip. Xenocybin is more groove based and influenced by bands more like Modern Day Babylon, Meshuggah and Car Bomb. Lost is more technical and features more flare like The Faceless, Miseration and Born Of Osiris. The video is shot on the Edmonton Legislative grounds. Special thanks to Kirsten Robinson for filming! Thanks everyone for checking it out.”

INFINITEE’s debut album “The Possibilities Are Endless” is now available on Bandcamp, iTunes and Spotify.

“What makes Thomas’ debut solo album a great offering is his combination of a wide range of influence……lots of ambience and electronics that again break up an ocassionally repetitive genre at times.” – Technical Music Review

“Thomas combines a number of genres to great effect, including progressive metal, djent, and EDM.” – Heavy Music Headquarters

Thomas comments:

“It will definitely be different! However, the title track ‘The Possibilities Are Endless’ leaves all sorts of possibilities open…no pun intended! Tracks like ‘Xenocybin’, ‘Lost’ and the title track are more metal and conventional with their instrumentation. Tracks like ‘Robots Vs The Wooden Chairs Part 1 and 2 are more influenced by EDM, which has sparked the interest of people who aren’t really a fan of metal or djent, but appreciate the more electronic elements of music. This is basically a battle of robots (electronic made sounds) and the wooden chairs (guitars, bass, drums) that are wooden and made and played by humans!”

Fans that will enjoy “The Possibilities Are Endless” will also be delighted to know that the possibilities of new music from INFINITEE are also endless as Tres says he has more music to come!

“I have another album ready to record, and I am working on my third. Anything is possible…expect anything!”

Few bands’ music has ever lived up to their name as much as Tres Thomas’ superb instrumental project INFINITEE; for theirs is an infinity of sounds, a universe of music waiting to be discovered.

Yet there is no self-indulgence, the song is always served. Combining the cranium crunch of Metallica and the progressive flights of fancy of Mastodon, INFINITEE are a truly special act.

Tres Thomas is also guitarist of Tales Of The Tomb. He formed INFINITEE in 2016. It quickly became its own iconoclastic beast, forging its own musical path. Debut album “The Possibilities Are Endless” is only the starting point, INFINITEE have the potential to become huge. Tres explains “the band has somehow evolved its way into the band it is today.”

Inspired by My Chemical Romance, Dance Gavin Dance, Plini, Modern Day Babylon, The Contortionist, Tres describes INFINITEE’s sound as djenty, heavy, dynamic, melodic and progressive.

Stoked for fans to hear INFINITEE’s debut album, Tres comments:

“It will definitely be different! However, the title track ‘The Possibilities Are Endless’ leaves all sorts of possibilities open…no pun intended!

Teaming up with New Noise Mag, INFINITEE are setting their prog shredding “Free” in their new guitar playthrough.

“This song is by favourite and is most fun to play. This song was what made me realize Infinitee needs to be more open and not just one genre. This is the staple/ flag of Infinitee’s writing!” says Tres.

Debut Album “Race Against Time” Out Now!

Unleashing their debut album “Race Against Time” this past January, Ottawa’s instrumental progressive metal trio THE DEAD CENTURIES’ full length features ten tracks of melodic, high energy and refreshing material. Influenced by Protest The Hero, Periphery, Paul Gilbert, Sithu Aye and Intervals, their release is full of hook and sinker compositions, shining guitar riffs and overall escapades through their instrumental progressive metal. Teaming up with GearGods.net, THE DEAD CENTURIES are showcasing their shredding chops with their fist guitar playthrough for “Reboot”.

“Reboot follows our second track “Gotham” on the release, but incorporates heavier elements bridging melodic sections. Near the end, Reboot features a harmonized lead section, which then continues with a harmonized guitar solo over top. The main idea is to bombard the listener with fast, melodic, dense, energy before closing with a chorus, which doesn’t give the listener the expected harmonic resolution.” comments guitarist Adam Tremblett.

Watch the riffage at the following link: http://geargods.net/playthrough/the-dead-centuries-reboot-the-game-to-win-in-this-exclusive-guitar-playthrough/

“Race Against Time” is available on Bandcamp, iTunes and Google Play.

About:

Visionary and highly influential writer Michael Moorcock, who worked with the bands Hawkwind and Blue Oyster Cult, memorably stated that ‘it is the business of the future to be dangerous’.

Ottawa three-piece THE DEAD CENTURIES are both futuristic and dangerous…which is as it should be. Influenced by Protest The Hero, Periphery, Paul Gilbert, Sithu Aye and Intervals, THE DEAD CENTURIES can easily hold their heads up in such exalted company.

Composing and performing technically precise instrumental progressive metal, THE DEAD CENTURIES are rich in virtuosity, melody, compositional skills, and most importantly…they create superb music to listen to. This isn’t the sound of three musicians showing off their undoubted skills, rather they are serving their songs above all else, with every fibre of their beings, every neuron firing in their minds, every tendon in their bodies. In a sense it is as if the three musicians that make up THE DEAD CENTURIES have become one mind in their own music. Their debut album “Race Against Time” was released on January 26th, 2018.

“High energy instrumental metal, The Dead Centuries are all about massive hooks, futuristic riffs & technical melody. Opener Freddie Lounds is rich in skill, showcasing how a trio’s different abilities can combine to make something that sounds so grand & complete.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“they’re not here to show you their muscles, but to share their record collection with you through a bright, pacey, grinning album that deserves every spin. Ace.” – Overdrive Mag

“Race Against Time features ten tracks of high energy material that would be an ideal piece to add to the collection of any fan of progressive metal.” – Pure GrainAudio

0 NEWS: GearGods Premiere VVON DOGMA I (ex-Unexpect) 9 String Bass Frankenstein Playthrough For “The Mask”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 14, 2017

For fans of Experimental Prog Funk Djent, Animals As Leaders, Felix Martin, Plini, Between The Buried And Me

GearGods Premiere VVON DOGMA I (ex-Unexpect) Bassist’s 9 String Frankenstein Playthrough For “The Mask”

Created By Ex-Unexpect Bassist

Out Now Debut EP “Communion”

Unleashing their debut EP “Communion” this past October, extreme bassist Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH of Montreal’s VVON DOGMA I has teamed up with GearGods.net for the premiere of his latest playthrough with his 9 string Frankenstein bass for the track “The Mask”.

“Most music featuring extended range instruments is all about technique. I wanted to bring the 9 string bass forward, but focus on songwriting more than fretboard theatrics.” says Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH.

Watch this epic video for yourself at the following link: http://geargods.net/playthrough/vvon-dogma-chaoth-ex-unexpect-plays-9-string-bass-in-this-exclusive-playthrough-for-the-mask/

Inspired by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Meshuggah, Deftones, James Blake, Jean Baudin, Die Antwoord, Clint Mansell, Igorrr, Arvo Part and Hans Zimmer,  VVON DOGMA I was created by lynchpin Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH whom was driven to form the group when his previous band Unexpect parted ways.

Experimenting with elements of prog, djent, funk, and electronic sampling plus featuring his Frankenstein 9 string bass, VVON DOGMA I‘s debut EP “Communion” is a true trip for lovers of outside the box thinking. Full of bashing low ends to its pummeling and dominating 9 string bass accompanied by the ripping of an 8 string guitar along with some morbid electronic samples for good measure.

“I wanted to feature my freak instrument of a nine-string bass. It is often a Frankenstein of bits and pieces of writing. But I also want people to know it’s not about shredding or anything. I wanted to see how I could apply this weird playing style in a musically accessible venue. My art is song writing plus arranging and the 9 string is only one aspect of it. I find it definitely adds an interesting flavor. Hopefully people will see it for what it is as a whole.”

“It sounds like Cynic mixed with The Algorithm, Last Chance To Reason, and others. It’s a shame this is only an EP, because I wand so much more.” – Metal Injection“It’s very much a ‘thinking outside of the box’ type of EP, with many different instruments and musical styles blended together.” – PureGrainAudio

“Chaoth (Frederick Filiatrault) is undoubtedly a member of the ranks of the most outstanding Canadian musicians.” – Silence-Magazin

“We may have the arrival of a whole new genre or style of music with what’s happening here from Montreal, Quebec’s Vvon Dogma I. Having just released the “Communion” EP in recent days, the music contained upon it is quite forward thinking progressive metal at its roots.” – Riff Relevant

“Chaoth is a M-A-S-T-E-R at what he does on the bass. At not a single point does he sink to the lower three strings, to prove how djent he can be, for more than ten seconds, and never does he get too noodly to enjoy what’s going on. The guy can fuckin’ PLAY a bass…What I immediately noticed with the Communion EP was that all the songs (there are four) sounded really well rounded… what it SOUNDS like is the unholy child of Les Claypool and Meshuggah. Just picture that for a second.” – Blood Rock Media

“Vvon Dogma I’s new EP has more than twice as many bass strings than tracks…an explosive look at Frederick Filliatrault’s new project, one that he conceived almost entirely as an excuse to write with his nine-string bass. Yep. Nine strings. On a bass…the Canadian band’s debut starts them off strong.” – All About The Rock

“a very unique EP.” – Games, Braaains & A Headbanging Life

“Vvon Dogma I really makes you feel that there is a well planned progression that aims to make you go through different stages until you reach a safe place” – RTMB Music

“”Communion projects a cocktail of Creative Rock and Metal of outstanding quality that will appeal to the connoisseur of all things out there in prog and avant-garde space. This is some wild shit. And does the RMR office suite like wild? Damn straight we do. And so should you – get some.” – Rock Music Raider

“This is a band that have managed to create their own brand of odd progressive metal…This is a band that does to djent what Claypool does to funk and Patton does to rock and metal. An out there and challenging affair, and most likely with more of a niche appeal due to that. But those who get it will enjoy this stuff immensely.” – Progressor

“What would happen if you lock Daft Punk, Meshuggah, Apoptygma Berzerk and Scorn into a rehearsal studio? Well, I have no idea but this fascinating EP by Vvon Dogma I might give you an idea. To say that this EP is quite varied would be a tremendous understatement. Elements from industrial (techno ànd metal), progressive rock, trap, funk, house, djent and metal pummel you down until have no idea where you are or what musical age you’re living in. Of course, there is ChaotH at his 9-string bass, but that is just one aspect of the unique and eventful sound of this band. Or in one word: Wow !” – Merchants of Air

It’s a very unique EP.” – Games, Braaains & A Head-Banging Life

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 9, 2017

For fans of Experimental Prog Funk Djent, Animals As Leaders, Felix Martin, Plini

9 String Bass Frankenstein Project VVON DOGMA I Unleashed By Ex-Unexpect Bassist

Premiere New Video “Communion” via New Noise Mag

Debut EP “Communion” Out Oct 27th

VVON DOGMA I are pioneers and trailblazers, eschewing moribund genre categorizations to create music both strange and beautiful, to misquote Shakespeare: ‘something unique this way comes’.

Inspired by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Meshuggah, Deftones, James Blake, Jean Baudin, Die Antwoord, Clint Mansell, Igorrr, Arvo Part and Hans Zimmer, VVON DOGMA I’s creative lynchpin Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH was driven to form the group when his previous band Unexpect parted ways. He had to find the right musicians and he had to create the right songs on the band’s debut EP “Communion” in order to find inner peace. The EP features four tracks experimenting with elements of prog, djent, funk, and electronic sampling to create a sound truly all their own and will definitely get the true avant-garde tech musicians anticipating more with this small taster.

“The songs were like living entities needing to be drawn into our world. The music is so original it is hard for me to categorise and it will definitely challenge music fans, but ultimately I think it will satisfy them beyond what any generic band copying what has gone before ever could.”

Frederick hopes the fans will get something truly special from the music that is a blend of everything he is musically and is definitely more accessible than what he has done in the past.

Teaming up with New Noise Magazine, VVON DOGMA I premiere their video for the EP’s title track, a trip for the true lovers of outside the box thinking. Watch and listen to the bashing low ends from the pummeling and dominating 9 string bass accompanied by the ripping of an 8 string guitar along with some morbid electronic samples for good measure.

For fans of Dream Theater, Tool, Yngwie Malmsteen, Animals As Leaders,Van Halen, RacerX

Vancouver Prog Virtuosos OMNISIGHT Posts Live Video ‘Shift The Paradigm’ Filmed By Blackroom Films

New EP ‘Power of One’ Out Now!

Vancouver progressive virtuosos OmnisighT teamed up with Blackroom Films to release a new live video for their track “Shift The Paradigm” off their new EP “The Power of One” released in January of this year. The video was shot during their EP release party on March 11th at The Astoria in Vancouver, BC.

“”Shift The Paradigm” is definitely a track that features everything OmnisighT’s known for: Extreme musicianship, big vocal hooks and great grooves. I was having some technical difficulties at the beginning of the song, but the show must go on! I’ve always liked music videos that show the realism of live performance, so I think it’s pretty cool. It was awesome to debut the new material and shred it up live!” says guitarist Blake Rurik.

The band’s next Vancouver performance will be on May 11th at Pat’s Pub & Brewhouse w/ Assimilation and Gatekeeper. Full details can be found here.

OmnisighT‘s ‘Power of One’ is the latest offering to showcase their highly regarded musicianship and finely wrought song-craft. ‘Power of One’ as a whole is a musical journey with a story concept to question the status quo and stand up against the oppression plus deceptions of the ruling class.

Drummer Chris Warunki comments on the release:

“”The Power Of One” is the sound of a band firing on all cylinders. Guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists will all have something in-store for them here with this EP. We are excited to get this out to the prog/rock/metal masses both musically and lyrically. Speaking of lyrically, the album will come with a PDF booklet exclusive to our Bandcamp supporters. We took a “more is more” approach with this one and it will be a real challenge, but a welcome challenge; to take it to the stage. A local Vancouver EP release party/show is in the works and TBA. We want to keep the musicianship in the music, that has been our agenda since day one!”

‘Power of One’ is now streaming along with CD and digital download at https://omnisight.bandcamp.com/album/the-power-of-one

Also available on iTunes, Spotify, and all other major online retailers.

About:
Known for their formidable musicianship, virtuosic guitar solos and powerful songs, OmnisighT is masterfully blurring the lines between melodic hard rock and progressive metal. Beginning as collaboration between vocalist/guitarist Raj Krishna and drummer Chris Warunki, they created the impressive ‘Path’ debut album in 2012. Their live line-up was consolidated with the addition of Dave Shannon on bass and guitarist Blake Rurik. ‘Path’ was followed up by the 2013 ‘Wave Particle’ EP.

Like all truly visionary musicians, band co-founder Raj was driven to create unique music. “I’ve been writing and singing songs since I was a little kid. We never seemed to hear heavy prog music that had shredding and hooks at the same time. It always seems you get one or the other….Having technical musicianship with good song-writing, shredding licks, and big hooks was the whole idea.”

Raj sums up OmnisighT’s music thusly: ‘Proggy, hooky, shredding, sad, and powerful!’

While Raj is justifiably proud of OmnisighT’s recorded output, he sees the importance of performance. ‘Live is where the band really shines! We put on a show, running around smiling and shredding. The band plays with more intensity…we often give the headliners a run for their money.’

“The depth of talent in Canada often surprises us. Here is another superb band to add to the list. It remains to be seen how far “The Power Of One” takes OmnisighT. But one thing is for sure, it is an EP of which they can be incredibly proud.” – Maximum Volume Music

“If you’re going to attempt this sort of thing, you’d better have chops. Fortunately, (OmnisighT) have ’em, and how.” – Georgia Straight

“Their stage presence and technique is out of this world…I can safely say that the only guitarists I’ve seen live that instilled the same sort of awe in me as Raj Krishna were Jeff Loomis and John Petrucci himself.” – Prog Sphere

“great songwriting, fantastic lead guitar work…immediately on the first track, the intro “String Theory,” we are greeted by some immense guitar skills. Seriously, these guys are fucking fantastic.” – The Monolith

“deliciously retro, Zappa-meets-Malmsteen solos with at least one toe in the land of jazzy improv… guitar fiends should rush to check them out.” – Georgia Straight

“I have never been more impressed with a band that I had zero knowledge about. These guys play like they’ve been playing together since birth and clearly love what they do at a cellular level.” – Metal Titans
