Montreal, QC’s The Rising Few are proud to announce the official release of their debut album ‘Sinners On St. Laurent’, out this week on Tuesday, March 25th (iTunes). The album is a tribute to the city that has given so much to vocalist Karim Terouz, a professional illustrator whom left his hometown of Cairo, Egypt to embrace the blistering Canadian winters and the lively music scene that Montreal is internationally known for.
Accompanying Terouz in his true passion of music are Hubert Tremblay (Guitars) and Andrew Sudlow (Bass) whom he met when he first started visiting every open mic night imaginable in the city. He was then later joined by Isaac Gesse (Trumpet) and Harvey Bienaime (Drums) to complete The Rising Few and create a fusion of folk, blues, rock and pop that the band showcases with its influences from Cat Stevens, The Tragically Hip and Bruce Springsteen, as well as Terouz’s Egyptian heritage with the band’s R&B / soul inspirations.
Performing over 30 live shows since first beginning on the scene and a first place win at the LME showcase competition (http://www.landmarkevents.net) in which the band beat out 200+ others for top honours. The Rising Few is excited to indulge music fans in some “punchy Montreal soul” with this debut produced by the great Glen Robinson known for his mixing and mastering credits on projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Grim Skunk, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career.

About: Rising from the depths of the frozen wastelands of Northern Canada, Fort McMurray, AB’s melodic metal band Until Dawn released their sophomore album ‘Horizon’ in August 2013, building on their previous success with their 2011 self-titled debut. Mixing the sound of modern metal and classic rock, brothers Luke and Deke Worrell, with Adam MacLeod and Steve White have created a sound appealing to both young and old alike.
2013 saw the band pushing hard with touring in their home province plus local praise from their hometown station Rock 97.9 FM naming them #4 on the Top 20 Metal/ Hard Rock Albums released last year. Two years in the making, Montreal, QC’s MIRE are proud to announce the official release of their new album ‘Inward/Outward’ out this week on March 18th to follow up their 2010 self titled EP.
Based on the band’s personal experiences ranging from the study of cognitive science to a military stint in Afghanistan, MIRE‘s 10 tracks marry a sonic wall of loud heavy yet strong melodic progressive rock metal that is winning fans and media over with comparisons of being named heirs to the Tool throne (media reviews below).
Vocalist JP LaChapelle comments on the release:
“Interpreted through our fingers, tongued and toe tips, this album which we’ve been working on for 2 years at totally different points in our lives, demonstrates the fan of emotions of 5 individuals’ experience. The craft is the loom into which our soil-tending, sun-vising and pest-warding efforts bear fruit. Love for the fate of man and the anger to defend it. Overwhelmed with a sense of innate creativity, we all curb our nature to the structures put in place for our short lives; whether building an enterprise, community or institution of any kind. MIRE’s decided to make music. Filtered as pure as possible, our passion rendered this product. Our maiden album expresses the plight of an impeached animal nature, faced with the philosophy of man’s fate run through questionable funnels. Throughout our creative process, we’ve experienced different stages and shed skins. The 5 colors we shine combine through the prism of ‘Inward Outward’ to produce the first of MIRE’s own hues. Winnipeg’s Psychotic Gardening Post Video Teaser On Forthcoming Album ‘Hymnosis’

After lying low, deliberately and methodically to prepare new material while vocalist Chuck Labossiere filled in with Broken Hope for tour dates in Europe and Canada. Winnipeg’s death metal troopers Psychotic Gardening are proud to announce their return in 2014 with their forthcoming album ‘Hymnosis’ set for release on May 13th to follow up 2011’s ‘Humanitorium’ and their 2007 debut ‘Hürdür’.
Featuring nine heavy hitting assaults that include a cover of Death’s ‘Open Casket’ with a guest appearance from Tim Roth (Into Eternity) and Chuck Wepfer (Broken Hope), ‘Hymnosis’ is sure to bang skulls with its full-throttle, go-for-the-throat execution of doom and black metal. In this release the band digs into its death metal roots for a concoction of their most vicious material while still hammering down on doom-laden monster riffs.
Both Andrew Wiens (guitarist) and Chuck Labossiere (vocals/guitar) comment on the upcoming release.
