Flourishing from a solo project shared on Soundcloud by Evan Jodrey (Guitar/Vocals), Halifax, Canada’s SigSour has become a solid powerhouse trio bonded by Trey Gabriel (Bass/Vocals) and Quenny Stevens (Drums). The band is excited to announce the release of their first studio album entitled “Apathetic Generation,” produced and mixed by Don Levandier (The Motorleague), due out later in 2025. The full-length follows their debut EP “Static” and Live Album “SigSour Live at Radstorm,” both released in 2024.

“Apathetic Generation” is a break the band needed to showcase all of what we are and can do. With each song telling a different story and having its unique vibe, we hope there’s at least one song in the entire album that someone can relate to and head-bang to. We are super excited for our fans and people who have never heard of us to get the chance to hear something that we are very pleased to share,” adds Jodrey.

Melodic and catchy, with the music changing between punk, metal, and grunge, SigSour has become known in Canada’s Maritimes as the band that keeps the energy crazy high, the crowd moving, and the eardrums bleeding. To preview what’s to come from “Apathetic Generation”, they are sharing the single “And It Goes”, which was the first song tracked on the album. The song lyrically riffs between addiction and disingenuous people.

Jodrey explains further:

“The lyrics portray one’s life being mastered by addiction and constantly finding yourself in an endless cycle of pain and confusion. The release from all the pain is in the chorus, searching for answers amidst the struggle.”

“We think the fans will be completely blown away. Everyone who listens to our music is used to the very raw punk rock type of recordings we’ve released in the past. With this project, we’ve stepped into a completely different realm and tried to make something that really captures all that we bring to the table and the different places we are capable of going with our music. We think this project has something for everyone, whether you’re into pop, grunge, punk, post-hardcore, or metal, there’s a song on this project to suit your taste.” – Evan Jodrey (Guitarist/Vocalist)

==================================================

About The Album Artwork:

A conscious being of a tree, alive and watching. The purple gloom sweeps over the album cover, and the eyes and mouths are placed within tree making it look part animal and plant.

The album as a whole (LYRICALLY & MUSICALLY):

A snapshot of life and all of its different complexities and challenges, raw emotions, and the need for change.

About the Single:

And It Goes starts abruptly and edges. The guitars are loose, the drums are loud, and the bass is booming. It then turns distorted and stressed, with the guitars panned in either ear while the drums crush your speakers and the bass locks you into this train wreck and you just have to hold on. The vocals then come in soaked with angst and sarcasm, lyrics portraying one on life being mastered by addiction and constantly finding yourself in an endless cycle of pain and confusion. The release comes in the form of a chorus, yelling into the storm of noise trying to be heard and saved, searching for answers amidst the struggle.”

SigSour is a high-energy, three-piece alternative rock band from Halifax, Nova Scotia, rooted heavily in punk and grunge. The band originated in 2021 as a solo SoundCloud project by guitarist/vocalist Evan Jodrey, who uploaded his demos to a small audience in hopes of gaining recognition and inspiration to continue writing. After receiving a modest number of views and a few encouraging comments, Jodrey decided to bring in his friends Trey Gabriel and Caden Smith, whom he had previously jammed with various projects, forming the band. Caden Smith’s metal and punk roots heavily influenced the band’s sound throughout 2023. Caden later decided to pursue other paths, which led to drummer Quenny Stevens joining the band, helping solidify the trio into the powerhouse it is today.
