SIEGE PERILOUS Unleashes Full Cinematic Album Experience Video for “Becoming The Dragon”

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado power‑metal storytellers Siege Perilous have unveiled a full cinematic album experience for their debut full‑length, “Becoming The Dragon”. The feature‑length video presents the album as a unified epic, transforming its ten‑chapter narrative into a sweeping visual journey of prophecy, tragedy, destiny, and rebirth.

Now streaming via NWOTHM Full Albums Channel on YouTube, the cinematic experience blends fantasy imagery, atmospheric sequences, and dramatic pacing to mirror the emotional arc of the album’s protagonist, the Child of Prophecy, as he confronts fate, battles cosmic forces, and ultimately becomes the dragon.

Watch the full cinematic experience at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK8_jOho0hE

“Becoming The Dragon” is Siege Perilous’ debut full‑length album, released on March 27th, 2026, via Crunchtronic Records. The record is a story‑driven concept album that balances a grand narrative arc with powerful standalone tracks. Each chapter explores a different emotional and musical landscape, from Iron Maiden‑inspired gallops to dark desert heaviness, chant‑driven battle hymns, classic heavy‑metal fury, and symphonic balladry.

The album features two monumental guest performances woven into the cinematic experience with Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) as the dragon in “As the Dragon Falls,” delivering a pivotal warning that reshapes the hero’s destiny, and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance) as the Mystic in “Echoes of Home,” guiding the protagonist toward transformation.

Vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel reflects on the album’s creation:

“Creating a massive, sweeping power‑metal epic has been a dream since way before we started this band. Getting to sing alongside Fabio Lione, one of the voices that got me into metal as a teenager, is indescribable. And having Kristin Starkey ripping a power ballad with us is far beyond anything we could have hoped for.”

Formed in 2021 after a life‑changing Unleash the Archers concert in Denver, Siege Perilous was born from the shared storytelling roots of live‑action roleplay, cooperative world‑building, and a deep love of power metal. Founders Shaughnessy McDaniel (vocals), Scott Hancock (guitar), and Mark Girard (drums) soon recruited longtime collaborator Eric Fischer (bass) and, in 2024, welcomed guitarist Ryan Flanagan, completing the lineup.

Their music blends classic heavy‑metal influences from Manowar, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, and Sabaton with the symphonic grandeur of Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Helloween, and Avantasia. The result is a sound that is epic, melodic, powerful, cinematic, and story‑driven.

Every Siege Perilous track is a chapter in a larger saga, drawing from myth, history, and fantasy: the Black Plague, the Rubicon, dragon‑slaying quests, and the emotional journeys of heroes shaped by destiny.

“Becoming the Dragon” is available on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

“The LARP-loving five-piece’s first LP is its most immersive work to date, introducing a protagonist who is destined to slay an oppressive cosmic dragon. Spoiler: He defeats the nemesis by the third track, “As The Dragon Falls,” featuring former Rhapsody of Fire frontman Fabio Lione. SIEGE PERILOUS Ignite Cosmic Warfare in New Lyric Video “Eschaton” From New Story Album “Becoming The Dragon”

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado fantasy metal Siege Perilous have released the official lyric video for “Eschaton”, the colossal final chapter track of their debut full‑length story album “Becoming the Dragon,” released this past March 2026 via Crunchtronic Records.

“Eschaton” stands as one of the band’s most ambitious compositions to date, a multi‑movement epic inspired by Blind Guardian’s “And Then There Was Silence,” Avantasia’s “The Scarecrow,” and Iron Maiden’s “Fear of the Dark.” The track follows the album’s protagonist as he battles the cosmic forces of destiny, shattering the universe to rebuild it free from fate. Musically, the song weaves soaring melodies, shifting tempos, thunderous riffs, and cinematic orchestration into a seamless narrative arc.

The lyric video brings this sweeping story to life, highlighting the emotional and mythic weight of the album’s finale while giving fans a deeper look into the world Siege Perilous has crafted.

Vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel describes “Eschaton” as the culmination of everything the band set out to achieve with “Becoming the Dragon”:

“This song is an epic with a lot of pieces that flow seamlessly between each other, telling the story of the end of one cosmos and the dawn of a better one.”

As the final chapter of the album’s ten‑part saga, “Eschaton” captures the emotional and narrative climax of the Child of Prophecy’s journey, one that spans destiny, denial, tragedy, transformation, and ultimately cosmic rebirth.

Watch the video via its premiere on V13.net HERE.

A sweeping concept album years in the making, “Becoming the Dragon” is the band’s most ambitious project yet. The record features guest performances from Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance), both of whom were major inspirations for the band long before Siege Perilous existed.

The album’s story follows a hero bound by prophecy who must confront destiny, reject it, and ultimately embrace it to overcome it. Each track represents a major story beat, crafted collaboratively by all members of the band.

“Creating a massive, sweeping power‑metal epic has been a dream since before we even formed this band. This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams as musicians,” says McDaniel.

The band’s writing process is deeply collaborative. Each member contributed to the story and composition of Becoming the Dragon, shaping different narrative beats before uniting them into a cohesive whole.

“We arranged, re‑drafted, and tackled each song as a team until we had something that really clicked. By the end, every track belonged to a unified Siege Perilous sound,” adds McDaniel.

On stage, Siege Perilous delivers more than a performance; they create an immersive world. Their shows blend high‑energy musicianship with theatrical storytelling, inviting audiences into the realms they sing about.

“Becoming the Dragon” (released March 27th) is available via Crunchtronic Records on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

Fantasy Metal SIEGE PERILOUS Unveils “Cut Down,” the Battle‑Scarred Path to Redemption From New Concept Album “Becoming The Dragon”

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado fantasy metal heroes Siege Perilous have released the official lyric video for “Cut Down”, a high‑octane heavy‑metal assault drawn from their new concept album “Becoming the Dragon” released this past March.

“Cut Down” stands as one of the band’s most traditional heavy‑metal tracks to date, a blazing fusion of Judas Priest grit, Dio‑inspired drama, and the battle‑ready bravado of Manowar. The song follows the album’s protagonist as he cuts a bloody path across the Infinite Steppe, only to confront the truth that he has become the very villain he once sought to destroy. In a moment of reckoning, he abandons his title as Chieftain and begins the long journey home.

Watch the lyric video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kkbxuKfrhg

The new single offers a fierce glimpse of the band’s first full‑length album, “Becoming the Dragon”, a sweeping, ten‑chapter concept record chronicling the rise, fall, and transformation of the Child of Prophecy. The album blends cinematic storytelling with standalone, hook‑driven tracks, featuring guest appearances from two titans of the genre, Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance).

Forged in Denver, CO, and rooted in fantasy, history, and cooperative storytelling, Siege Perilous blends epic riffs, soaring vocals, and cinematic arrangements into immersive power‑metal sagas. Formed by Shaughnessy McDaniel (vocals), Scott Hancock (guitar), and Mark Girard (drums), and later joined by Eric Fischer (bass) and Ryan Flanagan (guitar), the band draws inspiration from Manowar, Battle Beast, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Helloween, and Avantasia.

Colorado Power‑Metal Force SIEGE PERILOUS Unleash Battle‑Driven Lyric Video “Chieftain”

New Album “Becoming The Dragon” Out Now!

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado power‑metal storytellers Siege Perilous have released the brand‑new lyric video for “Chieftain”, one of the most ferocious and battle‑driven tracks from their 2026 full‑length concept album “Becoming the Dragon.”

“Chieftain” marks one of the album’s most explosive narrative chapters, chronicling the protagonist’s rise to power on the Infinite Steppe. As described in the album’s storyline, “Having survived the Crystalline dunes, our hero finds his way to the Infinite Steppe… There he follows a mighty Chieftain to victory. When the Chieftain perishes, our hero seizes control and cuts a bloody swath through his enemies.”

Driven by a fast, pounding rhythm, complex arrangement, and a chant‑ready chorus, “Chieftain” captures the raw adrenaline of conquest and the intoxicating pull of power that will have the fans’ blood pumping.

“Chieftain” is part of the sweeping ten‑track narrative that forms “Becoming the Dragon,” the band’s most ambitious project to date. The album follows the Child of Prophecy through destiny, denial, tragedy, and transformation, culminating in the hero’s ascension into the dragon itself.

The band describes the album as “a cinematic journey following the Child of Prophecy as he follows his path, then denies his destiny, and then slowly comes to realize that only by embracing it can he truly overcome it.”

The record features guest appearances from two giants of the symphonic and power‑metal world: Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance). Their contributions elevate the album’s emotional and narrative scope, fulfilling a long‑held dream for the band.

“Getting to sing alongside one of the voices that got me into metal as a teenager is an indescribable blessing… This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams,” adds vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel.

Every track is a chapter; every performance, an adventure.

Power Metal Storytellers SIEGE PERILOUS Unveils Lyric Video “Shattered Mirage”

New Album “Becoming The Dragon” Out Now!

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado power metal storytellers Siege Perilous have released the brand‑new lyric video for “Shattered Mirage,” the latest single from their debut full‑length concept album “Becoming the Dragon,” which was released this past March 2026. The track marks one of the album’s darkest and most atmospheric chapters, plunging listeners into a desert of glass, death, and prophecy.

“Shattered Mirage” follows the protagonist’s harrowing journey through the Crystalline Dunes, an otherworldly wasteland where lightning‑struck sands fuse into glass, entombing the fallen. It serves as the turning point where the hero abandons the world he once knew and confronts visions of fate, mortality, and the cost of destiny. The track’s layered vocal approach evokes echoes of Blind Guardian’s Hansi Kürsch while maintaining vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel’s distinct tone.

“Does the hero see his future? His past? Or simply the inevitability of death? This song delves into a dark and heavy sound… His caravan is ambushed in a desert where the sands are constantly being struck by lightning, forming dunes of glass and encapsulating the bodies of the slain”. adds the band.

The new lyric video arrives as the Siege Perilous continues rolling out singles from “Becoming the Dragon,” following the previously released “As the Dragon Falls” featuring Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and the title‑track video “Becoming the Dragon.”

Watch the lyric video for “Shattered Mirage” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Forged in the fires of fantasy and history, Siege Perilous is a Colorado‑based power metal band dedicated to crafting epic, cinematic, story‑driven music. The band was founded by Shaughnessy McDaniel (vocals), Scott Hancock (guitar), and Mark Girard (drums) after years of camaraderie in the same LARP community. Inspired by Unleash the Archers’ 2021 Denver performance, they set out to create their own mythic soundscape. They soon recruited Eric Fischer (bass) of the Celtic folk band The Stubby Shillelaghs and, in 2024, welcomed Ryan Flanagan to complete the lineup.

Their debut full-length, “Becoming the Dragon,” is a ten‑track narrative concept album chronicling the rise, fall, and transformation of the Child of Prophecy, a hero who ultimately must “embrace his destiny to fight the one who made it”. Each track represents a major story beat, crafted collaboratively by all five members. The album also features guest performances from Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance), both of whom have been major inspirations to the band.

Crafting music that is epic, melodic, powerful, cinematic, and story‑driven. Every song is designed as a chapter in a larger saga. The band is recommended for fans of Manowar, Iron Maiden, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, and Avantasia.

“Becoming the Dragon” (released March 27th) is available via Crunchtronic Records on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

A Hero’s Journey Begins! Fantasy Metal SIEGE PERILOUS’ Unveils Video “Child of Prophecy”

New Album “Becoming The Dragon” Out Now!

Album Guests Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance)

Colorado power‑metal storytellers Siege Perilous have released the brand‑new lyric video for “Child of Prophecy”, a pivotal early chapter from their recently released full‑length concept album “Becoming the Dragon”.

“Child of Prophecy” marks the moment destiny first awakens within the album’s protagonist, a young hero burdened by a prophecy he neither trusts nor understands. Musically, the track blends Iron Maiden‑inspired melodies, galloping riffs, and the band’s signature cinematic flair, setting the emotional foundation for the journey ahead.

The release continues the strong momentum built through earlier singles and media features, including premieres for “As the Dragon Falls” (ft. Fabio Lione), “Becoming the Dragon”, and “Echoes of Home” (ft. Kristin Starkey), as well as the band’s Kickstarter launch.

“Child of Prophecy” has one of the most unusual histories on the album. It was the first track ever written for “Becoming the Dragon” and helped inspire the overarching story, yet during pre‑production, something felt off.

The band had already completed drum tracking, and re‑recording would have derailed the entire budget. Enter guitarist Ryan Flanagan, who re‑arranged the entire song in just a day or two, keeping the original drums intact. The result is a tighter, more powerful version of the track, one that the band is deeply proud to share.

A ten‑part power‑metal epic of destiny, transformation, and myth. “Becoming the Dragon” is a cinematic journey following the “Child of Prophecy”, a young hero who first embraces, then rejects, and ultimately must confront his destiny. The story moves from mystery to tragedy to triumph, with each track reflecting a different emotional and musical landscape.

“Creating a massive, sweeping power metal epic has been a dream since before we even formed this band. Getting to sing alongside Fabio Lione, one of the voices that got me into metal, is an indescribable blessing, and having Kristin Starkey rip a power ballad with us is beyond anything we imagined. This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams as musicians, and we are thrilled for people to hear it finally,” adds vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel.

They soon recruited Eric Fischer (bass) of the Celtic folk band The Stubby Shillelaghs and, in 2024, welcomed Ryan Flanagan to complete the lineup.

““It’s certainly not a lack of ambition, this is a band that clearly sees itself as the natural successors to the true greats of fantasy-based power metal… Guest Fabio Lione… absolutely lays waste to all around him in the role of ‘The Dragon’ on As The Dragon Falls…. They deserve the highest praise for their commitment to the cause if nothing else.” – Sentinel Daily

Colorado power metal storytellers Siege Perilous have released the brand‑new lyric video for “Ancient Rite,” the second chapter in their sweeping 2026 concept album “Becoming the Dragon.” The track introduces listeners to the prophecy that binds the album’s protagonist, setting the stage for the epic, ten‑part saga that follows.

“Ancient Rite begins with a somber, almost foreboding tone. It’s the moment where the world of the prophecy opens up, and the listener steps into the story. It’s airy, it’s ominous, and it lays the foundation for everything that comes after,” says vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel.

The lyric video arrives as the band continues to roll out material from “Becoming the Dragon,” following the acclaimed singles “As the Dragon Falls” (feat. Fabio Lione) and “Echoes of Home” ft. Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance) and the album’s thunderous title track.

“Becoming the Dragon” is a fully realized narrative concept album chronicling the rise, fall, and transformation of the “Child of Prophecy.” “Ancient Rite” serves as the album’s first true narrative step after the orchestral overture, introducing the mythic forces that shape the hero’s destiny.

The track’s somber, spacious atmosphere, driven by a steady, commanding verse, reflects the uncertainty and weight of prophecy. It’s the calm before the storm that erupts in later tracks like “As the Dragon Falls,” “Chieftain,” and “Eschaton.”

Watch and listen to the lyric video for “Ancient Rite” at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DKSsUhIQt-E

Formed in Colorado by longtime friends and LARP companions Shaughnessy McDaniel (vocals), Scott Hancock (guitar), and Mark Girard (drums), Siege Perilous grew from a shared passion for fantasy storytelling and the electrifying inspiration of seeing Unleash the Archers live in 2021. Joined by Eric Fischer (bass) and later Ryan Flanagan, the band has evolved into a fully collaborative creative unit. Every track on “Becoming the Dragon” was shaped collectively, with each member contributing to the story beats, arrangements, and narrative flow. The result is a unified musical saga with each chapter standing strong as an individual song.

“We could not possibly be more excited to share Becoming the Dragon. This album represents our collective experience, skill, hopes, and dreams as musicians. Getting to collaborate with Fabio and Kristin, two artists who inspired us long before this band existed, has been surreal. We can’t wait for people to hear the full story,” adds McDaniel.

Epic, melodic, powerful, cinematic, and story‑driven, Siege Perilous is recommended for fans of Battle Beast, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Helloween, and Avantasia.

“Becoming the Dragon” (released March 27th) is available via Crunchtronic Records on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

The band are insanely good songwriters, and for this to be a debut album makes it feel like we have some truly special things to come in the next few years! They’re ones to watch, for sure! However, for now, this is an excellent release for anyone into the genre even a little bit!” – Overtone Magazine

“For a debut, ‘Becoming The Dragon’ is a bold and confident statement… undeniably compelling, and a promising sign of greater things to come.” – Metal Rager 666

“With ‘Becoming The Dragon’, Siege Perilous proves that they are ready for the bigger stage. For fans of Wind Rose, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, and Iron Maiden, this is a must. This is power metal with heart, brains, and a sword in hand.” – Musika

“Becoming The Dragon is an ambitious work that combines epic heavy metal with orchestral elements. Siege Perilous show talent in songwriting and variety of arrangements… The mix of powerful vocals, triple guitar riffing and orchestral interjections makes the album interesting for fans of epic metal,” – MetalUnderground.at

“The 10 tracks keep you on the edge of your seat and even feature a collaboration with Fabio Lione, who deserves to be praised in every way… An album to enjoy!” – Nada Hay Bajo El Sol

““‘As the Dragon Falls’ is elevated to a completely different level…. The catchy melodies and gripping guitar work are among the highlights of the record…. With the melancholic dark ballad ‘Echoes of Home,’ the band proves their knack for atmospheric arrangements with depth… Kristin Starkey contributes female vocals that give the track a beautifully atmospheric dimension… The gripping, catchy anthem ‘Chieftan’ is another noteworthy and praiseworthy exception.” – Obliveon

Denver, CO power-metal storytellers Siege Perilous will be unveiling their long‑awaited debut full‑length concept album, officially on Friday, March 27th, via Crunchtronic Records. And before officially releasing, the band has teamed up with New Noise Magazine for the full-stream premiere of the concept record, along with their new music video for the emotional power ballad “Echoes of Home” ft. Kristin Starkey. The release follows months of anticipation fueled by the band’s earlier singles, including the title track and the Fabio Lione-fronted “As the Dragon Falls.”

“Becoming the Dragon” is a cinematic, story‑driven concept album chronicling the rise, fall, and transformation of the “Child of Prophecy,” a hero who ultimately embraces destiny by becoming the very dragon he was sworn to slay. Across ten tracks, Siege Perilous blends epic riffing, soaring vocals, and symphonic arrangements into a cohesive narrative arc that stands tall among modern power metal concept records. The album features two major guest vocalists who helped shape the band’s identity: Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) as the voice of the dragon in “As the Dragon Falls”, Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance) as the Mystic in “Echoes of Home”.

For vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel, these collaborations are deeply personal:

“Getting to sing alongside one of the voices that got me into metal as a teenager is an indescribable blessing, and having Kristin Starkey rip a power ballad with us is far beyond anything we could have hoped for.”

The newly released video “Echoes of Home” highlights one of the album’s most emotional moments, the “all is lost” chapter of the story. Written during a difficult period when McDaniel’s newborn son was in the NICU, the song channels grief, fear, and hope into a sweeping Jim Steinman-inspired power ballad.

“Those nights going home alone while my wife stayed with our son really fueled the sadness and sense of loss that became the core of ‘Echoes of Home.’ Thankfully, he’s now happy, healthy, and just celebrated his second birthday in February.”

Check out both the album and video on New Noise Magazine HERE.

Every track on “Becoming the Dragon: was shaped collectively, with each member contributing to the story beats, arrangements, and narrative flow. The result is a unified musical saga with each chapter standing strong as an individual song.

Epic, melodic, powerful, cinematic, and story‑driven, Siege Perilous is recommended for fans of Manowar, Battle Beast, Iron Maiden, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Helloween, and Avantasia.

“Becoming the Dragon” will be available on March 27th, 2026, via Crunchtronic Records on all digital platforms, along with physical CD and Vinyl, plus merch at the following links:

“It gives me great pleasure to tell you that Creation’s Call is a blast. Siege Perilous has succeeded in creating what I would call Epic Power Metal for the Working Man. They don’t waste your time with overlong symphonic interludes between tracks, melodramatic narration, or overproduction that tests the limits of your sanity. The band gets right to the point and pulls you into their epic tales of heroic daring immediately. This is a nice breath of fresh air and if this EP is anything to go by, Siege Perilous has a great future ahead of them. Yes, this could be considered power metal but the no-nonsense approach and urgency to the songwriting makes this release absolutely worth checking out for those of us in the NWOTHM scene. Plus, it’s really just a lot of fun. This one is highly recommended. THENWOTHM SCORE: 9/10” – The NWOTHM

“‘Creation’s Call’ never gets boring, even on Heavy Rotation. Five gifted musicians have succeeded in creating a varied EP. The twin guitar solos are convincing the whole time. It’s just a shame that it ends after twenty-one minutes. It makes you wish for a full-length album. And, of course, a thrilling live performance. 9.3/10” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

“solid power metal style that should satiate any LARP-attendees or Dungeons and Dragons mavens. Keep an eye on this quintet – wield thy sword as they lead the battle charge for more quality power metal from the states. 8/10” – Dead Rhetoric

“There are any number of quality bands like Siege Perilous active right now but the style is popular (and I love it) and these guys are as decent as the next similar act. They lean more the Metal side of the equation using the folk and orchestral moments as flavour, not the main style. CREATION’S CALL is a fine effort and I could easily see them on tour with Brothers Of Metal, All For Metal, Fellowship and other costumed Metal heroes. Worth checking out!” 4/5 – Metal Rules

Colorado power‑metal storytellers Siege Perilous are unschackling the official music video for “Becoming the Dragon,” the climactic title track from their upcoming concept album “Becoming the Dragon,” due out March 27, 2026.

The new video marks the band’s most ambitious visual project to date, capturing the album’s central transformation moment, where the protagonist embraces destiny, defies cosmic fate, and ascends into mythic power. The track arrives as the band continues to build momentum following the release of their first single, “As the Dragon Falls” (feat. Fabio Lione).

“‘Becoming the Dragon’ forms the critical climax of the story of our album. We wanted to capture something beyond just fantasy; it’s about defying fate, defying the stars, and embracing the power within. There are moments in life where we either transform or perish, and this song embodies that choice. It’s the moment our hero unlocks the true power inside him, and we think the track shows that transformation expertly,” says vocalist Shaughnessy McDaniel.

The song features thunderous drums, soaring vocals, shredding solos, and a standout bass interlude that drives the track toward its explosive finale. Musically, it represents the band’s evolution into a more cinematic, orchestrated, and emotionally charged sound.

Watch and listen to the music video “Becoming the Dragon” via its premiere on Metal Insider HERE.

A sweeping ten‑chapter concept record, “Becoming the Dragon” follows the “Child of Prophecy” through destiny, denial, destruction, and ultimately transcendence. The album blends classic heavy metal roots with modern symphonic power metal, drawing influence from Blind Guardian, Rhapsody, Iron Maiden, Avantasia, and Sabaton.

The record features guest performances from two major voices in modern power metal, Fabio Lione (Rhapsody, Angra) on “As the Dragon Falls”, and Kristin Starkey (Twilight Force, Temperance) on the power ballad “Echoes of Home”.

“Creating a massive, sweeping power‑metal epic has been a dream since before we even formed this band. Having Fabio and Kristin join us, two artists who inspired us long before Siege Perilous existed, is beyond anything we imagined when we started this project four years ago,” says McDaniel.

Forged in Colorado’s fantasy‑driven LARP community, Siege Perilous formed after McDaniel, guitarist Scott Hancock, and drummer Mark Girard were inspired by a 2021 Unleash the Archers show in Denver. Joined by bassist Eric Fischer (The Stubby Shillelaghs) and later guitarist/arranger Ryan Flanagan, the band has built a reputation for crafting epic, story‑driven metal that blends myth, history, and cinematic world‑building.

Their sound, described in five words as Epic, Melodic, Powerful, Cinematic, Story‑Driven, has evolved through collaborative songwriting, theatrical live performances, and a commitment to narrative‑focused metal.

Recommended for fans of Wind Rose, Hammerfall, Sabaton, Blind Guardian, and Iron Maiden, “Becoming the Dragon” is due out on March 27, 2026 and available for pre-order / pre-save at the following link:

“Denver metal mob reckon that their goal on “Creation’s Call” was to build a world and tell a story in “three to five minutes.” It’s a world of fantasy, as “Oathsworn” proves, where metal rules and swords are held high. “Across The Rubicon,” however, is delivered with such skill that you can’t resist getting sucked in with them. Shaughnessy McDaniel has a brilliant “metal” voice, roaring on “Sons Of The Verdant,” and guitar duo Scott Hancock and Cody Martinez can knock out a NWOBHM riff like it’s 1982, as the title song underlines. “Brothers Of Five” brings the epic one last time, galloping in proper fashion, and it’ll be interesting to see how Siege Perilous develops. This is one hell of an opening statement, mind you. 8.5/10” – Maximum Volume Music

“Creation’s Call not only highlights Siege Perilous’ dedication to epic storytelling but also emphasises their versatility within the power metal genre. With influences ranging from historical events to high fantasy, this EP offers a rich and varied auditory experience that will captivate fans. Prepare to embark on a grand journey through myth and history as Siege Perilous delivers their latest saga.” – Amplify The Noise

“Creation’s Call it is a cohesive and well-crafted work, where the combination of rich letters in history and fantasy, with a meticulous musical execution, it makes mandatory, regardless of its short duration. [82%]” – Via Nocturna

“Creation’s Call doesn’t get boring even in heavy rotation. Five gifted musicians have created a varied EP. The solos of the twin guitars are convincing across the board. It’s just a shame that it’s over after twenty-one minutes. You want a full-length album. And of course a sweaty live performance. 9.4/10” – Keep On Rocking

“Colorfully mixed NWOTHM/Epic Heavy/Power Metal elixir that appeals to a broad range of fans between ALESTORM, BATTLEROAR, ETERNAL CHAMPION, GATEKEEPER, IRON MAIDEN, RUNNING WILD and WRATHBLADE. Awakens a huge appetite for a full long-play album. On this EP you can clearly see that the band has enormous potential and has already given a great taste of their skills. Conclusion: Strong-looking genretobak that falls out of the usual range! 8,5/10” – FFM-Rock

““Oathsworn” simply explodes out of the gate. The band ratchets every possible dial up to 11 and charges into battle with an epic statement of intent.” – Nine Circles

““Brothers Of The Five” offers classic power metal as you would appreciate it. The strain on the neck muscles is correspondingly high and in some places the number cannot deny a slight Maiden stable smell.” – Hellfire Magazin
