NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 27, 2020

For fans of Kamelot, Symphony X, Amaranthe, Powerwolf

Calgary’s RED CAIN Premiere Music Video “Juliet” via NewFuryMedia

New Album “Kindred: Act I” Out Now via Sliptrick Records

Calgary’s Red Cain has put together a visually thrilling music video for their track “Juliet” featuring Daniel Louden (Benevolent Like Quietus). The award-winning video (Best Music Video at Independent Shorts Awards (Los Angeles) is in support of their debut album “Kindred: Act I” released this past January via Sliptrick Records.

Teaming up with NewFuryMedia, today the band is excited to share the video’s premiere HERE.

The band explains the video in further detail:

“Deep forests, thick fog, American muscle cars, and Russian pagan goddesses. Part film-noir, part 80s road trip, dressed up with horror tropes and set to the “bubble-gum horror” stylings of goth rock banger “Juliet”, Red Cain is proud to drop our latest award-winning music film. Directed and produced by Rik Zak and Jun Ren, the film crew behind the band’s previous story video “ZERO” that took home 9 international film awards, “Juliet” tells the story of what happens when rock ‘n roll and occult forces collide on the roads of Americana. So buckle up, throw on your aviators, grab your Jackson Warrior, and make sure you’ve got the protection of Veles before you venture out into the open highway! “I saw her, lace and leather and hell, where serpents reign” – and now, so will you.”

With their first full-length album “Kindred: Act I”, Red Cain dive into a conceptual journey through the primordial depth of the human psyche, surfacing to tell mythological tales of war, love, and transformation. Slavic, Celtic, and Egyptian myths all find a place within the tracks, in a venomous new form – battle hymns, sorrow songs, and eldritch chants. These are tracks that the band put their blood and spirit into, and while listener-friendly, they also contain a huge variety of layering and elements that require a number of listens to truly explore.

Each song tells a story, and the concept behind the album can be found within the words. Red Cain brings forward elements of the Slavic storytelling tradition here, with Veles, the god of war and earth, our patron deity, and storytelling patron. The reconciliation of the ancient and the modern, the clash between the two, and the vivid and powerful tales it produces with bonds strengthened in singing age-old songs together.

Musically, “Kindred: Act I” is a further continuation of the group’s debut self-titled EP, and fans will see that while it is still clearly a Red Cain album, there has been a significant progression in both styles, songwriting, and production. They have kept their raw sound but in a more modern package and the tracks themselves are very different, yet connected to one another through a variety of musical, lyrical and storytelling threads.

For the band; “Kindred: Act I” is an ancient Sumerian incantation etched into the fiberglass wall of a derelict star-ship. Who can say what’s inside?”

“Kindred: Act I” is available on Shop Sliptrick, Apple Music, Spotify, Bandcamp

Inspired By Soviet Era Posters, RED CAIN Share Lyric Video “All Is Violence” via MetalMasterKingdom

Debut Album “Kindred: Act I” Out Now

Performing On Vancouver’s Hyperspace Metal Festival April 27th

Inspired by Soviet-era posters, Calgary’s RED CAIN have put together a visually thrilling lyric video for their track “All Is Violence” off their debut album “Kindred: Act I”released this past March.

Teaming up with MetalMasterKingdom, the band is premiering the video at the following link: https://www.metalmasterkingdom.com/home/red-cain-premiere-lyric-video-for-all-is-violence

Vocalist Evgeniy Zayarny adds:

“Visually inspired by Soviet propaganda posters, with images brilliantly designed by Igor Zayarny, ‘All Is Violence’ is a lethal offensive tying pagan Russian conceptions of righteous and sinful violence as championed by pagan gods Veles and Morana to an examination of violence in the modern era, backed by thunderous drums and downtuned, aggressive guitar work. The lyric video doubles as an introduction to individual Red Cain band members, with individual and group photos taken by Quay Evano. Fire, reload, step forward, and wrestle with your bestial nature because -‘All Is Violence’.”

RED CAIN first full-length “Kindred: Act I” was produced by Sascha Laskow (Every Hour Kills, ex-Divinity) with the band at Perfect Filth Studios and features guests Kobra Paige (Kobra And The Lotus), Daniel Louden (Benevolent Like Quietus) and guitarist Tyler Corbett. The album’s artwork was done by Timur Khabirov with cover design by Igor Zayarny.

The band has shared a few other videos in support of the debut album. Their music video for “Zero” recently won the Award of Recognition in the Best Music Video category at the Accolade Global Film Competition in Los Angeles.

Born out of the emerging metal scene of Calgary, AB, RED CAIN is a modern melodic metal project with European roots. With intricate songwriting, a heavy yet melodic feel reminiscent of progressive acts, and eerie ambient elements, RED CAIN champion a fluid, dynamic, and unique musical style centered around telling dark, conceptual Faustian sagas and constructing those into an unforgettable live experience. Listeners might well pick out elements reminiscent of such luminary acts as Kamelot, Symphony X, Tesseract, Draconian, Marilyn Manson, whipped into a venomous new shape.

“Kindred: Act I” is available on Bandcamp here, iTunes, CD Baby, Spotify.

In additional news, RED CAIN will be performing on this year’s Hyperspace Metal Festival in Vancouver, BC for the second night of the event on April 27th at the Rickshaw Theatre alongside Crimson Shadows, Judicator and many more. Full details and line up can be found here.

“Overall, this was a very original album. I find it very difficult to locate a counterpart for RED CAIN, as they have clearly created their own sound in the genre. What we have here is a two headed beast of sad and melancholy music on one side and angry and raging music on the other. The two combine somewhere in the middle with flair for the dramatic and impassioned vocals. This is definitely worth your time if you are looking for something off the beaten path.” – Metal Temple

“Symphonic progressive metal with alternative and gothic nuances – Red Cain are well on their way to establishing new territory in story telling and musical match-ups. Kindred: Act I represents a fine opening album for these Canadians, and should lend itself well to various multi-media opportunities for live show and film options. The best records connect on a mind, body, and spirit level – and this will be one that should be in the conversation for visionary, forward-thinking effort, proving the ink is not dry on what metal can bring to the table for innovation.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Kindred: Act I is all about raw and unbridled metal power. A thoughtful brand of metal that – for once – does not base itself on mindless growling about the stage along normal lines of metal conduct. Instead they rip the established status quo to pieces and attack with a very unusual metal dish. One that comes with a distinct groove to boot… a very tasty fusion of Progressive and Power Metal that we have rarely seen to date. A metal dish best consumed red-hot. Have some, you will not regret it.” – Rock Music Raider

“I couldn’t be more impressed with this band and album from the opening track “Snake Bouquet” to the last track “Wing Of The Crow” which is an awesome closing track with guest vocals from Kobra Paige of Kobra and The Lotus. This album takes you on an epic and melodic journey, I feel fans of bands from Avatar to Kamelot to Marilyn Manson and anything in between will really love this album.” – Crannk
“Red Cain have produced a very awesome album. It sounds and looks very professional, has great riffs and epic melodies. Keep an eye on these guys, they will come very far.” – Lyrical Spell Magazine
