Red Cain is another great metal band from Canada. These guys represent the progression of power and melodic heavy metal. They mix power metal sounds from around the world like Symphony X, Evergray, Dream Theater and Kamelot and mix in a modern metal sound. Overall this is an awesome work of modern day progressive and power with a touch of heavy dark alternative metal. Such a solid EP and a must have for all metal fans.

Calgary, AB’s RED CAIN have teamed up with PureGrainAudio for the premiere of their new lyric video for their first single ‘Hiraeth’ off their upcoming self-titled debut EP set for release on November 25th. The track was written as an anthem to glorious ages past, driven by the band’s Eastern European roots. Enveloped in Slavic mythology and imagery, the track takes the listener into an era where mysticism and sorcery coexisted with sharp steel, pagan hymns, and a still-present yearning for the restless wild. It is a gallop through hidden memories in their blood, and a call to arms from a long-forgotten heritage of renown.

About:
RED CAIN was originally conceived as an industrial/gothic hybrid along the lines of Deathstars and Marilyn Manson; they soon evolved to embrace intricate storytelling, finessed their guitar sound, and grew into a more fluid and dynamic musical style. With increased musicianship, the progressive nature of the band grew as did the influence of acts like Kamelot, Symphony X and Tesseract.
Infused with Eastern European mythology and vivid imagery, RED CAIN delivers their style of venomous, yet focused and cinematic metal, constructing compelling musical and lyrical tales in their work.
The band has been a steadfast on the Calgary music scene since 2012, playing at venues such as Distillery, Lord Nelson’s, Dickens, Vern’s, and the Republik, alongside known international and local acts such as Arkona and Scythia.

Highlight: #9 – RED CAIN – Canadian National Loud Chart – (Earshot) – Nov 15, 2016
“Hiraeth” is 6 minutes and 12 seconds of Red Cain’s “intricate storytelling, finessed…guitar sound, and…fluid and dynamic musical style.” With a lot of buzz surrounding the new recording, the local scene is soon going to start seeing this group all over local venues.” – PureGrainAudio
“Red Cain comes at you with a head banging force. The impact when you hear the song Guillotine will be leaving you wanting to hear more!” – CFMU 93.3 FM – Master Radio (Hamitlon, ON)
“Melodic and full of creative, unforgettable moments… All the songs on this album are so well written and lyrically deep and powerful.” – Metal Nexus
“If you are into heavy, groove-filled instrumentals plus evocative, rich vocals then this is the album for you, this is one of those albums that you listen to over and over again to hear something new and exciting every time. It is a 4 song EP that feels like a full length album.” – Ignite Music Mag
“an eclectic mix of metals sub genres. From progressive, cinematic, symphony along with a touch of Goth. Red Cain have produced a superb CD…They’re a band well worth supporting.” – All About The Rock
“On their debut EP, Red Cain establish themselves, not only as a promising act within their musical category, but one capable of bringing in new ideas to freshen the palate of their genre.” – Musicology
“What works best for Red Cain are those spots in between the sheer intensity of what’s on display – a proper dynamic understanding of quieter introspection, something that makes Opeth and Steven Wilson so brilliant. At 24 minutes and change, Red Cain are on the right path, sure to drum up significant interest as the band deliver songs that contain hooks while pushing boundaries – always the best game plan for long-term appeal in this genre.” – Dead Rhetoric
“I totally enjoyed “Red Cain” and the way it presents the band’s music journey towards its own music ID. The songs are well-written and structured with some pretty cool ideas that to me sound like an interesting way to blend Gothic and Progressive Metal. So, don’t be afraid to like something with the word ‘Gothic’ on it, and be aware that RED CAIN already raised the expectations for their debut LP. They will definitely be on my radar.” – Metal Kaoz
“I urge you to check out one of the new faces to the metal scene. Jump on board and claim bragging rights before the masses do!…Red Cain definitely have something going for them. From heaviness and killer breakdowns to more melancholic and woeful moments, Red Cain, will certainly be making heads turn especially when their full-length debut album comes around. If you love albums that have this ‘roller coaster’ effect and each song does not sound like one another then I recommend giving this album a listen.” – We Love Metal
“Red Cain have the songs and are worthy of your time if you are seeking a new symphonic metal band.” – Get Ready To Rock
“A strong new band in the progressive metal genre, performed with ardor and passion! ” – Lords of Metal
“Let’s wallow some more into the Progressive Metal swamp that got quite some attention lately at RMR. But to safely get there we need to perform some magick: First take two large spoons of progressive. Then mix with a large dose of groove and lavishly add a goodly shot or two of Moonspell. Heat the cauldron, bring to boil and stir well. Then sprinkle with some groove and you got yourself the self-titled début EP brought to you by Red Cain. And it is powerful stuff waiting for ye that risks to blast the socks off your feet.” – Rock Music Raider

They mix power metal sounds from around the world like Symphony X, Evergray, Dream Theater and Kamelot and mix in a modern metal sound. Overall this is an awesome work of modern day progressive and power with a touch of heavy dark alternative metal. Such a solid EP and a must have for all metal fans.” The Dirty Room

Born out of the emerging music scene of Alberta, Canada, Red Cain is a powerful, modern melodic metal project with European roots. Originally conceived as an industrial/gothic hybrid along the lines of Deathstars and Marilyn Manson, they soon evolved to embrace intricate storytelling, finessed their guitar sound, and grew into a more fluid and dynamic musical style. The band has been a steadfast on the Calgary music scene from 2012 to 2014, playing at venues such as Distillery, Lord Nelson’s, Dickens, Vern’s, and the Republik, alongside known international and local acts, such as Arkona and Scythia.
After a two-year hiatus, Red Cain is back on the scene, with orchestration guru William Lancaster and talented multi-instrumentalist Rogan McAndrews joining longtime members and founders Evgeniy Zayarny, Nikita Ryzhenkov, and Samuel Royce in a new, streamlined, and hard-hitting lineup.
