QUIESCENT MANTIS Are Swarming The Road For A “Fight” – New Single + Tour Dates w/ Summoner’s Circle, Nameless Anonymous

American death thrashers Quiescent Mantis are getting ready to be road warriors and fight their way through the stretches’ of highway from city to city as they will be supporting Summoner’s Circle alongside Nameless Anonymous for a ten-date tour that will kick off in Charlotte, NC on March 9th and wrap up on March 23rd with a hometown show in Knoxville, TN (all dates listed below).

And before they make their way across six states, they are sharing a new instrumental single to get fans ramped for the mosh pit. Entitled “Fight”, the track was produced by Yanic Bercier and is off Quiescent Mantis’ upcoming yet-to-be-titled album for release later this year. It’s a song for those to escape from everyday life and give a unique experience to lose themselves in the twists and turns of it. The band explains further:

“With it being an instrumental, we believe the song tells a story on its own in the way it changes, swivels, and turns will push the listener through a war as carnage rips through the field. We believe will catch the attention of the fans due to its unique riffage and unrelenting tone of aggression throughout the track.”

Quiescent Mantis was born to take heavy metal sounds and cross-pollinate them with old-school science fiction movies, campy lyrical vibes, and solid groovy riffs. The furious trio is represented by guitarist Chris Trainor, bassist/vocalist Jordan Mckenzie, and drummer Johnny Mejia who came together to deliver one face-melting lick after another while the ground below them shatters with breakdowns.

To date, Quiescent Mantis has released their debut EP “Chapter 1” in 2021 and while they find their niche has gone from a more traditional thrash sound to a truer heavy metal sound with paper shredding leads, earth-shaking bass lines along with almost machine-like drumming. They aim to provide a unique experience with a mixture of old-school thrash and new-school metal techniques such as breakdowns, which will be prevalent on their first full-length album.

Fans of Orbit Culture, Power Trip, and Havok will be especially interested in what Quiescent Mantis has to offer.

BAND STORY ANGLES / FUN FACTS:

1. Quiescent Mantis had our first show with Summoners Circle at the open chord alongside good friends 1134 and Forest of Jinn. Summoners Circle are local legends in Knoxville so we came into that show wanting to bring as much energy as we could physically bring as we usually do. Chris was going down on the ground with the crowd to play our instrumental prey. Without hesitation, we started the song and a big circle pit formed around him still one of the craziest things he has witnessed. The swarm took over

2. Before Quiescent Mantis had fully formed Jordan sent me (Chris Trainor) a message asking if I wanted to join the band because of the guitar in my profile picture which is my dean ml select in ocean blue but honestly glad I actually responded because these guys I’m with are insanely talented.

3. Shake The Cage started its life as an instrumental that we actually played multiple times on stage before it had lyrics with it.

Quiescent Mantis, born from heavy metal sounds crossed with old school science fiction movies, brings a new, campy lyrical vibe to solid traditional groovy riffs. The furious trio of guitarist Chris Trainor, bassist/vocalist Jordan Mckenzie, and drummer Johnny Mejia came together to deliver one face-melting lick after another while the ground below them shatters with breakdowns. They have an album in the works, but for now, they are releasing the single “Shake The Cage” with a lyric video.
