NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 5, 2024

Out Now! TRAUMATOMY’s “Triumph of Enslavement” Is Non-Stop Slam Carnage!

Prepare for slam carnage as Traumatomy, the international brutal death metal juggernaut, drops their latest EP “Triumph of Enslavement” on July 5th, 2024 via Gore House Productions. Formed in 2012 by the sinister minds of Constantine Chevardin (Disfigurement Of Flesh) and Haruka Kamiyama (ex-Gorevent/Medic Vomiting Pus), Traumatomy has evolved from an online project into a touring force of slamming brutality. They share their excitement about the release:

“We are very happy that the new EP “Triumph Of Enslavement” is being released, we have been working on it for 2 years. We believe that this EP will be loved by fans for a long time. Mychal Soto from PeelingFlesh brought a special sound to this album. The sound is raw but at the same time sharp and brutal. The album cover by Jon Zig captured our vision and atmosphere.”

“Triumph of Enslavement” is a visceral journey through a relentless barrage of slams, blast beats, technical riffs, and a little bit of groove that will leave listeners battered and craving more. With a lineup that now includes an additional vocalist, bassist, and drummer since 2018, Traumatomy’s live performances have become legendary for their intensity and raw power.

The band explains that their songwriting process is a labor of love and brutality. Each riff and drum part is meticulously crafted to ensure the maximum impact. With inspiration from Lovecraft and a healthy dose of beer, they’ve pushed themselves to deliver their most brutal and raw work to date. “Triumph of Enslavement” is out now and recommended for fans of Gorevent, Cerebral Incubation, and PeelingFlesh.

“Brutal death metal enthusiasts rejoice!… Get in, make a s**t-ton of noise, wreck some bodies, and get out. That’s the mantra of this EP, and the mindset of Traumatomy, who deliver five of the nastiest and brutalising death metal tracks heard this year. With guitar riffs that are as thick as coagulated blood, bass hooks that rip through flesh as though they’ve emerged from a freshly opened Lament Configuration, drums that sound like a demon is hitting the skulls, ribcages, and stretched skin of its victims, and vocals that gurgle and growl like a creature driven to madness through hunger. This is Traumatomy’s sound, and it is f**king mean. There’s no refresh of the brutal death metal sound here. No suggestion that Traumatomy are about to drop a melodic one out of the blue. No attempt to do anything but deliver brain-crushing heaviness at its best. Which is what Traumatomy do here. Delivering the kind of savage and sickening heaviness that leaves you with a headache, a sore neck, aching limbs, and the strong feeling of having been well and truly violated.” – Games, Brrraaains, A Head-Banging Life

“TRAUMATOMY releases “Triumph Of Enslavement”, an EP that offers slam in its purest form, but which is attractively designed in terms of songwriting and rafinesses here and there, which reveals the many years of experience in this style, especially from guitarist Constantine Chevardin. Fans should be happy with this appetizer. 8/10″ – PowerMetal.de

“Well, this is short and sweet at just over 15 minutes. Triumph of Enslavement is a nice little (tiny?) slab of brutal death metal that opens up with a mid-paced but heavy, crushing intro before swerving in a faster, but no less heavy, death metal onslaught. They do slow down, sometimes almost to a crawl, but the crushing heaviness is omnipresent, clickety drums included (OK, that has nothing to do with heaviness, but you do get the clickety drums). The growls are deep, deeper than I usually like, but they’re a perfect fit for the music here—I wouldn’t see a different style working quite as well. It’s dark, it feels like the weight of the world going through your ears, and sometimes that’s just what you need.” – The Metal Crypt

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 4, 2024

DERELICT Unleashes Drum Playthrough For Album Title Track “Versus Entropy” via Sick Drummer Magazine

New Album “Versus Entropy” Out Now!

L-R – Eric Burnet – Vocals, Guitar, Max Lussier – Guitar, Vocals, Sébastien Pittet – Bass, Tommy McKinnon – Drums

Unleashing their highly anticipated new album “Versus Entropy” this past June after a 12-year hiatus, Montreal, Canada’s Derelict have a new drum playthrough from Tommy McKinnon for the record’s title track via Sick Drummer Magazine‘s Youtube channel at https://youtu.be/gVoamvx4nng

“I decided to choose this track because I thought it represents the album very well as far as style. It mixes groove, melody, and brutality. When I reached out to Ian at SDM, he was very enthusiastic about the song. The drums on the video are recorded in one take, and I left the timing 100% natural. I wanted this to be sort of a “live” version of the song and the sound has no triggers at all.” adds McKinnon.

Known for their brutal melodic technical death metal, “Versus Entropy” is a testament to the collaborative synergy between Burnet and guitarist Max Lussier. Each song on the album is a joint effort, with contributions from bassist Sébastien Pittet and drummer Tommy McKinnon adding layers of complexity and depth.

The album unfolds in two distinct chapters, the first four songs can be considered a pure evolution of what they did on 2012’s “Perpetuation”. It is then separated by an instrumental piece “Attunement” that offers a breather and a bridge to the last four tracks that feature probably the band’s most brutal, southern, thrashiest, and old-school prog death songs ever written by them.

Lyrically, the album delves into both global and personal themes, from climate change and social injustice to introspective explorations of identity and emotion. “Versus Entropy” was produced by Burnet and Lussier, mixed and mastered by JF Dagenais (Kataklysm), with the album artwork done by Cate Francis.

“We think our existing fans will be surprised and happy to hear new music from us. It’s been 12 years since our last full-length, although we teased our return with the Clear Cut single in 2022. I think fans will find that we matured while keeping our core sound. There’s more diversity in what we’ve done here than on older material.” adds the band.

Recommended for fans of Decapitated, Death, and Cryptopsy, “Versus Entropy” is available at the following links:

“Derelict are back with a brutal, technical track, “Versus Entropy.”… The new record is nine tracks long and takes on many themes about the diverse and complex human experience, all while showcasing how ripping and heavy their riffs can be. This song is a great first foray into the heavy and nuanced layers they will bring with this release.” – Decibel Magazine

“As song beginnings go, the one at the outset of “Spectrum” is especially electrifying, an amalgam of rapidly quivering strings, savage percussive bursts, and feverishly swirling and wailing guitar solos by Max Lussier and Eric Burnet. The turbocharged intensity stays high with the appearance of vicious snarls and rabid howls, coupled with weaponized drum attacks and swarming riffage, but the song reveals a new dimension as singing joins in with the snarling. There’s more of Lussier‘s soloing too, a head-spinning romp, soon followed by a slithering and menacing guitar arpeggio, as well as further episodes of harmonized singing and fang-baring tirades. The soloing and the singing does bring in elements of “Southern metal”, and gives the song a very distinctive personality.” – NoCleanSinging

“Versus Entropy is a great blend of the band’s influences in old school death, thrash, and prog/technical death metal. Combining their life experiences with world issues and industry matters (Re: Trevor Strnad), Derelict’s June 21st self-released album is a testament to the continuation of a major Canadian death metal project that is worthy of note as it really seeks to show the band’s remaining fervour for quality production and expression along with current world matters that strike a chord with the members, having lived a generation of life away from the grind, only to return with new perspectives and tastes.” – Metal Epidemic

“What is in the water in CANADA! I swear they have been putting out some of the sickest bands and albums this year! Derelict has stepped up after twelve years with their latest self- release “Versus Entropy” with 9 tracks of traditional Brutal Tech Shred!! Displaying every bit of refined talent through each track. I personally enjoyed track 5, Titled “Attunement” an instrumental right in the middle of the record, makes perfect sense and helps cleanse your palette for the rest of the album. We get that speedy, yet melodic guitar shed throughout all 9 tracks sure to impress any musician and fan of tech metal. Grab your copy” – Keeper Magazine

“An album to seek out for those who tend to enjoy a more technical take on a hard, tight and firm variety of extreme metal.” – The Viking In The Wilderness

“You would think with Canadian Tech death you would know everything that there is to know about the style right… Wrong, Derelict has only put out a few albums but each album is really a Great Masterpiece of the tech death world while still showing off that you don’t need to be Tech death 100% of the time. Every riff serves a purpose, every lead sounds so perfect for the song. Everyone in the band absolutely has technicality and musicianship to an absolute but they know how to write songs at the same time and you match that up with fantastic production and you have one of the standout Tech death albums of 2024. Seriously if you need tech death that is not just pure Tech death give Derelict a chance.” – Heavy Debriefings

“It is speedy, brutal and yet still melodic, inventive in arrangement (especially ‘Attunement’) and well produced. Every instrument is cleanly and clearly discerned and the cymbals are easily listened to without overpowering anything else…. no hesitation in awarding Derelict 9/10… Also, fucking ‘Spectrum’ though. The perfect blend of technical ability and groove. Fucking hell.” – Ever-Metal

Canadian Glam Metal GELATIN SKELATIN Have Some “Big Trouble” With New Album Out August 2024

New Music Video “VHS”

New Album “Big Trouble” Out August 9th, 2024 via SRS/MVD Entertainment

Canadian glam metal band GELATIN SKELATIN is pleased to announce the release of their new album “Big Trouble” this coming August 2024 via SRS/MVD Entertainment. The album contains nine tracks including the lead single / music video “VHS”, a song that hearkens back to the summer of 89.

“It makes the listener mentally revisit the days when going to the beach and requesting 80s hard rock on the radio was the way we spent our time. It was some of the best times of my life and I wanted to capture that feeling in song.” says frontman/vocalist Brett Kelly.

Also featured on the band’s debut full-length are songs “Ship of Fools” and “Scream and Scream Again”, written by Juno Award-winning singer Mike Trebilcock of Canadian band The Killjoys along with mastering by Harry Hess of Harem Scarem fame.

Treating every show like an arena rock show, regardless of size, fans can always expect a lot of running around and lots of leather. The brainchild of Ottawa-based vocalist Brett Kelly. He is joined by guitarists Sebastien Thisdelle and Myles “Slam” Rourke (ex-Annihilator), bassist Billy Jessup and drummer Joel Agnew.

“I had the idea to form an old-school glam metal band brimming for over a decade, and I finally decided to take the plunge around 5 years ago. This record is for the love of the retro glam experience. I want fans to remember the good old days when rock was fun and rock stars looked like rock stars. People who want that arena rock experience should get a kick out of us.” adds Kelly.

Recommended for fans of Kiss, Alice Cooper, Winger, and Warrant, Gelatin Skelatin‘s debut album “Big Trouble” is due out on August 9th, 2024 from SRS/MVD Entertainment and is available for pre-order at https://gelatinskelatin.com.

Quebec City’s ONCHOCERCIASIS ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENOSCOPY Lifts The Brutal Death Metal Veil With “Facial Gutting”

New EP “The Fallen Lament” Out July 2024 – CD and Cassette From Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions

L – R – The Popuko – Guitars, Drums, Bass, Backing Vocals, Alice Simard – Guitars, Drums, Jesse Agiomamitis – Vocals

Quebec City, Canada’s Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy continues its legacy of slam brutality with their upcoming fourth record “The Fallen Lament” being unleashed digitally on July 19th and CD on August 9th from Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions (SBR is a GHP sublabel). Designed to be both a cerebral and visceral experience, it is a relentless barrage of apocalyptic chaos. Their latest single “Facial Gutting” featuring guest vocals from Kiryu Zhang (Dehumanizing Itatrian Worship) teases what’s to come, as the band explains:

“With this album, we’ve done what we’ve always done, simply better. We don’t want to stray too far from our original DNA; from what makes the band who we are, but there’s always going to be progression in some direction. This record marks our longest gap between releases, which isn’t something we had in mind, but great art can’t be rushed out the door, and while it may have taken some time to materialize, I’m certain that this record will be everything fans have wanted and then some, because it certainly was for us.”

Originating as a solo project by Alice, OxE has evolved significantly since its inception, now featuring Jesse on lead vocals and production duties. The band has continuously pushed creative boundaries with each release, balancing the desire for innovation with the need to stay true to their roots. “The Fallen Lament” exemplifies this evolution, showcasing a sound that is heavier and more frantic than ever before.

The band also remarks that making the transition from Gutter Slam to nigh-high concept Brutal Death Metal a bit more digestible, the three old songs on the upcoming EP are completely revamped, to bring them into the new era of Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy with a more defined, but nonetheless crushing sound. They are recommended for fans of Ulcerate, Disentomb, and Enmity.

Well, if the answer to that is yes, then the boys in ONCHOCERCIASIS ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENOSCOPY have got you covered. ART OF ATTRITION is a blackened technical deathcore band who separate themselves from the underground local scene with their 8-string barrage of dueling melodic guitars, gravity blast beats, intense guttural vocals, and epic orchestration. This year they are releasing their new EP “…And It Will All End Forever”. To whet the palates of those who enjoy infectious, brutal music, they have released their music video for the single “Vitriol”, which they comment on:

“Vitriol was the first single we wrote and it set the tone for what we wanted to hear in the E.P. musically and lyrically. We created an eerie, despair-like atmosphere within the song while still recalling a fierceness. Creatively, we tried some new song structure ideas and it turned out exactly how we wanted. We are feeling very positive for the next chapter of AOA music.”

Musically, “Vitriol” is technical and epic. It starts with a melodic intro that is reflective of the first verse riff and gives an eerie rising effect. It is fast and technically proficient. It has a very epic chorus, haunting and catchy! Lyrically, it explores themes of anger – if left unchecked, it tends to fester over time. The single is an introspective foray into the worthiness of allowing space for such feelings and actions, into one’s own life.

The EP, “…And It Will All End Forever” is pure chaotic inoculation. A culmination of everything AoA has worked so hard to achieve in one record. Now, they are set to write a bit out of their comfort zone and delve into other genres that they love. The EP is recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Aversions Crown, and Gaerea.

THIRTEEN GOATS Presents Music Video For “Murder Lives In The Heart”

“Planet of the Goats Tour” w/ FALL OF EARTH

New Album “Capricorn Rising” Out July 12th, 2024 via Exitus Strategem Records

“It’s really strong. GREAT musicians, great production, as well as a very progressive aspect without losing the darkness.” – Kelly Schaefer, Atheist

“Capricorn Rising” is the upcoming concept album and extreme metal rock opera from Thirteen Goats, which will be released for metalheads around the world next month. Is it thrash? Death? Groove? Thirteen Goats don’t care, and neither should you. This Vancouver four-piece tramples all over subgenre conventions to create an alchemical style of infernal riffs, huge hooks, and uniquely theatrical songwriting. They have a music video out now for the single “Murder Lives in the Heart”, which lead vocalist and guitarist Graham K. Miles comments on:

“The song is about the nature of vengeance. Vengeance feels good when you’ve been wronged. But just because something feels good, that doesn’t make it right.

I wrote the song after getting my heart broken, to remind myself that the pain would make me a monster if I let it. In the story we’re telling on the record, our main character Shepherd experiences that when he loses his faith in humanity and sells his soul to become the Antichrist.

The video explores the same theme from a different perspective. It’s about three women who murder the members of the band one by one and reanimate them into zombies. Their reasons are never shown, but we get a strong sense that they feel justified in what they’re doing.

Whether it’s right or wrong is left up to the audience. We’re not here to tell you when revenge is okay or not—but we want to show that it always has a spiritual cost.”

It’s been two years since the release of their debut, “Servants of the Outer Dark”, and the band has worked their asses off to bring everything fans loved about that record back with a vengeance—the frenzied fretwork, the humongous hooks, and the subtly humorous lyrics that mask much darker and more serious subjects. Two songs (including this one) also feature guest vocals by Carly Ellen Jones. Thirteen Goats is recommended for fans of Carcass, Lamb of God, and Mastodon.

“What makes this turbocharged song (Sign of The Goat) so damned much diabolical fun is the band’s melding of viscerally compulsive grooves, head-spinning instrumental pyrotechnics, and rapid-fire vocal assaults — and doing so in a way that makes the track highly infectious too. The song vividly intersects with the tech-death sphere through flurries of quickly darting, swirling, and swarming riffage, deliriously cavorting arpeggios, and a multitude of percussive fusillades. As displayed in the video, fingers and limbs fly like the wind, and the guttural barks and hair-raising screams in the vocal department rhythmically eject the violent words just as fast and just as furiously. But, as forecast, the song is also a viscerally groovesome beast. It’s almost relentlessly hard-slugging, but what really stands out are brutish, muscle-galvanizing jackhammer-bursts, the first of which comes only 25 seconds into the track. Another one of those episodes sets itself up as the backdrop for crazed guitar soloing that sounds like the ecstasies of fiends. And we did warn you — this thing is also immediately catchy and enduringly addictive. It comes recommended for fans of Bolt Thrower, Archspire, and Lamb of God.” – NoCleanSinging

What the press said about 2022 album “Servants of the Outer Dark”:

#14 on Top 20 – Loud – Canadain College Radio – August 2022 (Earshot)

“An alchemical style reminiscent of Cannibal Corpse, Misery Index, classic Megadeth, melodic Swe-death, and all eras of Death and Carcass.” – Decibel

“Rips, we’re here for it.” – MetalSucks

“Perfectly marries old school death metal, blackened tendencies, and heavy metal choruses.” – Metal Injection

“THIRTEEN GOATS unapologetically raise the deathcore flag for the new decade and absolutely don’t care what people think.” – Exclaim!

“Think Vulgar Display of Power-era Pantera in a cage match with Cannibal Corpse and Ministry.” – The Georgia Straight

“A gut-punching and head-hooking offering of death metal that borrows liberally from many of the genre’s subsets, as well as bringing in elements of thrash, black metal, and grindcore.” – No Clean Singing

“With a name like THIRTEEN GOATS, it’s gonna be evil. It’s cool, thrashy, blackened groove metal, a little like a Lamb of God sound with a bit more heavy brutality going on and a dash of black metal evilness. Great stuff!” – The Mosh Pit on WORT 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)

“THIRTEEN GOATS make seriously good music and sound like they have a lot of fun doing it. They write great upbeat thrash songs with strong melodies that appropriately sway from sinister to camp and pull it off tremendously. For some classic charcuterie of extreme metal mixed with a bit of tongue in cheek, you’re well looked after here.” – Heavy Mag

“THIRTEEN GOATS is a new strength in the extreme scene.” – Metal Temple

“The starting point of Thirteen Goats and their debut album Servants Of The Outer Dark is death metal, but it doesn’t remain tied to it. They explore all types, including tech death and melodic death metal, and even genres outside of that like thrash, groove, and doom metal. Each song brings out a unique side to the band, whether it’s the politically charged ‘Prisoner’s Anthem’ or the body horror of ‘Sub-Being.’” – Heavy Music Headquarters

“Canada’s THIRTEEN GOATS are incredibly fun to listen to and at multiple points subtly humorous—and, as such, make themselves easily a breath of fresh air within the technical scene. That sense of fun is backed up with very proficient playing and dizzying creativity, far beyond what you would expect from a debuting act’s first full length… Servants of the Outer Dark is an excellent debut full-length from these guys and I can’t wait to hear more!” [9/10] – Metal Observer

“All you need is love? No. All you need is THIRTEEN GOATS. Their debut album has everything your heart could desire in a Metal record, it’s a metaphorical pizza with all the toppings and a better thrill ride of a first crack we defy you to find!” [8.5/10] – Metal Noise

“These guys have the ability and the chops to succeed, whilst channeling bands like Lamb Of God into their output.” – Man of Much Metal

“This is so good.” – Stephen Quinn, The Early Edition (CBC Radio One)

Since 2009 (minus pause years 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic), West Metal Entertainment and Armstrong Metalfest have not only fostered the talent of hundreds of local bands, but have imported well-known, international acts to the quiet, little Canadian town of Armstrong, British Columbia.

Each year hundreds of metalheads from Canada and the USA descend into the picturesque Okanagan Valley and under the blistering sun, they spend three days camping, taking in as much metal over two days, participating in wrestling events, scavenger hunts, and catching up with their metal family.

The festival has seen such renowned headliners as Kataklysm, Cattle Decapitation, Archspire, Nekrogoblikon, Origin, Rivers of Nihil, and Beyond Creation as well as emerging artists from across North America. At the end of the revelry, the festival disappears without a trace, leaving the landscape as pristine as it has always been.

West Metal Entertainment is a non-profit society that not only puts on the Armstrong Metal Festival every year in Armstrong, B.C., it gives bands opportunities to play at different venues throughout the region including all-ages shows, to encourage musical passion in kids as well as adults.

0 NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS Unveils The Next Tale From Their Crypt With Video “Jason Lives” Off New Horror Death Metal EP “You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over”

NECRONOMICON EX MORTIS The Next Tale From Their Crypt With Video “Jason Lives”

New Horror Death Metal EP “You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over”

Necronomicon Ex Mortis will be unveiling their next tales from the crypt with the new EP “You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over” due out on June 29th. Before it drops, the horror fiends have one more video to share for the record’s closing track “Jason Lives”. The song is a “death/doom” retelling of the story of “Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives”.

Watch the video for “Jason Lives” at https://youtu.be/Z28TAqy9R7U

Necronomicon Ex Mortis was formed out of the love for classic death metal, 80s shred worship, and creating gory lyrics about B-horror movies, Chicago’s Necronomicon Ex Mortis unleashed two EPs in 2023, (Self-Titled – March 2023) and (Silver Bullet – August 2023) and now return in 2024 with their third entitled “You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over”.

“UNPARALLED SPOOKINESS. We are slowly trying to bring back the glory of the 80s dual guitar attack. This EP shows Necronomicon Ex Mortis at our most versatile; proving we have multiple ways to rip your face off! We think the fans will love the variety on this release! We want to have the listener have their expectations constantly challenged on this record! These tracks were chosen specifically because they’re all incredibly different from one another. Fans can expect an extreme amount of new music going forward; we’ve recorded multiple projects at once.” – Guitarist – Michael Nystrom Bala – Necronomicon Ex Mortis

The tracks on “You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over” were chosen specifically by the band to all be incredibly different from one another. These recordings are a love letter to death metal, but also sometimes lean on the melodic side; sometimes brutal, sometimes technical. The band hops in and out of subgenres like various seasonings over baked chicken. Lyrically, the record touches on horror murder and blood.

All the tracks on the EP tell an extreme metal interpretation of the movies they are titled after. From its opener, “My Bloody Valentine”, a thrash and technical death metal collision, to “Leprechaun”, a melodic metal track that’s short and sweet, just like an actual Leprechaun. “In the Mouth of Madness” is low, slow, and filled with symmetrical scales. This one takes a more mid-paced approach to death metal. This song retells the story of John Carpenter’s legendary movie of the same title. “The Dead Zone”, is a song based more on the 90s progressive death metal sound with lots of symmetrical scales, extreme dissonance, and a cool guitar moment from Manuel Barbara. And EP closer “Jason Lives”, screams “guitarist, songwriter/lyricist Mike Bala has been listening to too much Autopsy.”.

“You and Your Friends Are Dead: Game Over” will be out on June 29th, 2024, and is available for pre-order at https://necronomiconexmortis.bandcamp.com

About: Necronomicon Ex Mortis was formed by guitarist Michael Nystrom Bala out of a desire to combine elements of death metal and a love for horror. After writing far too many songs, Michael contacted The Apocalyptic Sandwich of Doom members, guitarist Manuel Barbara, and bassist Yusuf Rashid to join his ambitious fright-slinging of a band. The three amigos then enlisted fellow Berklee Bros Craig Schmuhl and Joey Ferretti, on vocals and drums respectively. Apparently, they joined out of the holy terror of the devil’s music.

With two EPs unveiled, the quintet has more music in the works, they are back in the laboratory of a mad scientist, preparing songs for their 3rd release in June 2024. In a few short months, there will be more tunes to haunt your dreams. Stay tuned for over-the-top guitar playing, a comfortable blending of old-school metal and modern techniques, and a touch of campy, dark humor. They hope to make you sleep with the lights on!

“Their third EP in just over a year, Necronomicon Ex Mortis are on a bit of a tear since forming and spilling plenty of blood along the way. Combining a love for the riff with garish death metal and horror films, their vitriolic ways are only matched by their desire to have some gory fun… Necronomicon Ex Mortis are unforgiving in their quest to leave a trail of bodies in their heavy metal wake.” – Games, Brrraaains & Head Banging Life

“Meaty groovin’ thrash/death metal. cool stuff.” – The Mosh Pit – WORT 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)

“If I were to inform you of a band out there describing themselves as a ‘combination of ‘80s shred with ‘90s riffs all wrapped up in a cheesy B-horror movie’ chances are you’d excitedly inquire as to who this band is, after which I could start taking over/under bets on how quickly said horror-metal nerd collective (Necronomimcon Ex Mortis) would become one of your new favourites.” – Decibel Magazine

“From start to finish, it really is a head-spinner and a heart-pounder, and some of the most fun you can have with your clothes on (though you might need to strip down and dry off after the EP is done with you.). If it wasn’t clear already, it’s damned clear after Silver Bullet that Necronomicon Ex Mortis is “a band to watch”. And if these peoples really do have 69 more songs fully written, bring ’em on!” – No Clean Singing

0 Halifax’s TURBO Shares Heartbreak Anthem “No Savior” Off Upcoming NWOTHM Album “Broke And Ugly” Out July 2024

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – June 28, 2024

Halifax’s TURBO Shares Heartbreak Anthem “No Savior”

New NWOTHM Album “Broke And Ugly” Out July 2024

Set to release their high-octane NWOTHM album “Broke & Ugly” this coming July 12th, Halifax, Canada’s moshpit instigators TURBO are sharing the next single and heartbreak anthem “No Savior”. The track was written by drummer Sylvain Coderre and vocalist/guitarist Evan Frizzle while both were going through nasty breakups.

“The lyrics talk about that, and issue a warning of sorts to future ladyfriends: “I ain’t no savior, I’ll burn here forever”. It is definitely one of the album’s standout anthems.” adds the band.

Listen to “No Savior” at https://youtu.be/suUkogNN5uo

Fast, heavy, and raw, Turbo’s highly anticipated second album “Broke and Ugly” takes the signature sound that they cultivated on their debut album “Fast As Fvck” and sees the quartet fine-tune it along with throwing in some peppering and experimentation into the songs, it’s certainly no rehash, fans of the first album’s sound will certainly rejoice.

“Broke and Ugly” is Turbo‘s second testament to the ups and downs of the rock-and-roll lifestyle, and it comes in swingin’ HARD. The music is raw, greasy, and mean; but it’s also tight, coordinated, and flashy. The lyrics are defiant and visceral, painting a real picture of where vocalist Evan Frizzle’s mind was during the writing process of the album. Themes go from party anthems to drugs, to women of flings-past, to life on the road, and back again. It’s edgy, it’s real, and it’s undeniably Turbo.

The band adds:

“It’s an absolute slaughter in 7-tracks, sure to scratch an old-school itch you didn’t realize was there. Like your disheveled uncle on Christmas morning, Turbo is STILL trashed, pissed off, and sick of your shit. Get yourself a grimy slab of Thrash, add a good pinch of NWOBHM catchiness, and throw it on the burner. Mix in some spicy glam metal and sleaze rock into a bowl with a large helping of punk rock and hardcore. Drizzle that over what you have on the burner, and garnish with a singer determined to turn his voice into sand whose lifestyle and worldview will make you worry for him, and you have the recipe for Turbo’s distinct flavor.”

The artwork for “Broke and Ugly” was done by the band’s primary artist and good friend, Tim Murray. It depicts a dive-bar nightmare bathroom that has been – to put it diplomatically – well-loved. It has a few little Easter eggs from other songs from the band peppered through it, and a green hand grabbing for some shit tickets from a busted-ass urinal that belongs to the velociraptor featured in the album art from their first record, “Fast As Fvck”.”

Embodying the full-speed-ahead attitude that defines Turbo, they are recommended for fans of W.A.S.P., Motorhead, and Judas Priest.
