German Melo-Death MINDREAPER Unveils Epic New Video “The God I Am”

New Album “Withering Shine (…Into Oblivion)” Out Dec 2024 via Death Age Records

Fans of hard-hitting melodic death metal are in for a treat as Germany’s Mindreaper gears up to premiere their latest music video “The God I Am”. This visual spectacle serves as a powerful prelude to their highly anticipated album “Withering Shine (…Into Oblivion)” set to drop on December 2nd, 2024 via Death Age Records.

“Withering Shine (…Into Oblivion)” stands as Mindreaper‘s magnum opus, seamlessly blending traditional elements with modern symphonic touches to create a unique sonic landscape. The album promises to be a collection of eternal hymns, each track a testament to the band’s musical prowess and emotional depth.

Mindreaper takes listeners on a haunting journey through the echoes of past existences, confronting themes of transience and irrelevance. The album doesn’t shy away from societal critique, tearing open old wounds and processing the lowest socio-cultural structures while keeping an eye on potential apocalyptic dystopias.

Listeners can expect brutally snotty guitars, lung-piercing bass, and stomach-smashing percussion, all embraced by epic orchestral arrangements that avoid falling into kitsch. The varied vocals of two powerful singers add another layer of depth to the already rich soundscape.

As the band puts it, “It is not the raised index finger, but the middle finger that wields the pen and the sword!” It is recommended for fans of Carcass, Edge of Sanity, and At the Gates.

Tennessee thrashers Quiescent Mantis are unleashing their latest video capturing their primal fury live with the track “This is The End”. The video is from the band’s “Here Comes The Swarm” hometown album release show at the Karns community center on July 19th, 2024 in Knoxville, TN. Watch the video literally to the end to view their destructive madness!

Watch and listen to the video via its premiere on MetalAddicts HERE.

Quiescent Mantis‘ debut album “Here Comes The Swarm” was produced by Yanic Bercier (Quo Vadis, Gone In April) at WaveTransform Recording Studio and unleashed this past July on Exitus Stratagem Records. The genre-defying release blends elements of hardcore, thrash, death, and metalcore into a whirlwind of relentless aggression.

Formed during the tumultuous times of the COVID-19 lockdown, Quiescent Mantis emerged from the fusion of former scientists Chris Trainor, Jordan McKenzie, and Johnny Mejia. Previously employed by the enigmatic Sub-atomic Weight Of Acceleration Research Mechanics (S.W.A.R.M.), the trio embarked on a musical journey after inadvertently opening a doorway to the mantis homeworld during a particle collision experiment, exposing themselves to a mind-altering pheromone. Thus, the Chapter 1 demo was born in 2021.

Inspired by a love for old science fiction movies and thrash metal, Quiescent Mantis presents a unique, aggressive, groovy, heavy, and relentless sound that blends old-school metal techniques with new-school innovations. The band aims to provide listeners with a groundbreaking experience, combining elements of classic and contemporary metal in a manner never before heard. They are recommended for fans of Orbit Culture, Havok, and Power Trip.

“With this album, it truly shows not only how we come together as musicians but as storytellers. This album is all the best elements of thrash metal and science fiction horror movies put into one single package. ‘Here Comes The Swarm’ is the sound we created to release the swarm to the world.”

“Loaded with battle vests, beer, baldness and breakdowns, Quiescent Mantis have delivered a highly entertaining four minutes into the conversation (Primal Aggression Music Video).” – Decibel Magazine
“With its aggressive riffs, its rhythms implacable and his stimulating lyrics inspired as much by science fiction as of recent experiences, Here Comes The Swarm delivers a good punch in the face! This album brings together All the best elements of thrash metal and it should appeal to fans of Orbit Culture, Power Trip, Havok and Pantera! 4.5/5” – Metallian Magazine

“QUIESCENT MANTIS does a great job, delivers strong performance and is also well positioned in terms of craftsmanship.” – PowerMetal.de”The trio takes thrash metal and punches in hardcore and death metal for a release complete with constant twists.” – Heavy Music Headquarters
“An album to seek out if a fun and engaging trip into an extreme metal meets thrash metal type of universe is a prospect that intrigues you.” – The Viking in the Wilderness

“Biting down on a stick the trio then get anvil heavy with groove laden title track “Here Comes The Swarm“, an intense tune with a cool bass solo and the kind of vocal brutality that might make you think this was another band entirely. Dirty, dirge laden riffs dredge the lake in search of corpses and the result is a headbangable mosh pit filler than is absolutely delicious.” – Metal Noise

“Here Comes the Swarm is a testament to Quiescent Mantis’ ability to turn an extraordinary backstory into a powerful metal experience. The album’s intricate blend of aggressive sounds and thematic depth makes it a standout release in the metal genre.” – Amplify The Noise

“‘Primal Form of Aggression’ thrives on an exquisite use of the mid-range power chords in the opening riff. Then, the trio force a hardcore beatdown crunch on the listener like vigilantes cleaning the hoodlums off their streets. Dimebag Darrell’s DNA is all over these chunky guitar constructs. The spaced-out breakdown at the end is a generous gift for a live audience to appreciate.” – Scream Blast Repeat

“It’s a fun ride from QUIESCENT MANTIS and even the awkward parts are pretty easy to overlook. I’ll bet this band is a neck-wrecker live!” – Wormwood Chronicles

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 16, 2024

Join Quebec’s TROLLWAR On A Symphonic Melo-Death Rampage With “Bane Of The Underworld”

New EP “Tales from the Frozen Wastes” – A Journey Into Darkness – Out Nov 2024

EP Guests Veli-Matti Kananen (Kalmah), Mattias Sippola (Atavistia)

Quebec, Canada’s symphonic melo-death metal powerhouse Trollwar has just released “Bane of the Underworld”, the first single from their upcoming EP “Tales from the Frozen Wastes”.

The EP is the sixth studio record from the band, and the first in six years. It boasts increased technicality and a new direction with the sound. The band shares their thoughts on the release:

“This is a song that we worked on pretty recently. We previously had a skeleton for this song, but it went into a major facelift. We introduced progressive metal breakdowns with guitar-tapping melodies, and even a catchy piano melody to create a very enjoyable, yet technical layer on the song’s melodic breakdown. All of that mixed with a solid chorus.”

As if it was not enough, some brutal old-school death metal-sounding riffs were introduced, and mixed with some heavy symphonic elements, creating an intricate-sounding end to the song. “Bane of the Underworld” is a song about warriors sending their foes to their end. Thus being sent to the underworld.

The single offers listeners a taste of the darker, more complex soundscape the band has crafted for their new EP. It’s a journey into the realm of the dead, where epic melodies clash with intense rhythms, creating a sonic experience that will resonate with their fans and new listeners alike. It is recommended for fans of Ensiferum, Amon Amarth, and Kalmah.

Liste to “Bane of the Underworld” being premiered exclusively on NoCleanSinging HERE.

Top 20 2018 Metal album from Quebec by Metal Universe (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

“The whole record is an adventure; the sequencing flows well from song to song and is bumpered nicely by an intro that sets the mood, plus an outro that gently brings things to a close, returning the listener safely back to their respective realities. At the end of the day, I definitely think Trollwar is onto something here; they are proudly waving the folk-metal banner and are destined for big things.” – PureGrainAudio (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

”The vocals are abrasively savage, and the swirling keyboard melody is like ear heroin. I can’t help myself — the song pushes too many buttons for me to resist.” – No Clean Singing (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

“OATH OF THE STORM has a wave of well-written catchy songs, good production, lots of intensity and power as well, which is something some of the other bands lack. TrollWar is a pretty appropriate name for this enjoyable act and OATH OF THE STORM is one of the more intense Folk Metal albums out this year.” – Metal Rules (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

“Overall, this was an outstanding album, for a band that clearly has a lot to offer. What I can’t figure out is why no one has signed them yet? The production is excellent. They have a sophistication and complexity in their sound that few others do, yet each track is very easy to listen to. It’s like you combined the best of the old, IRON MAIDEN, with the best of the new, WINTERSUN, and you have TROLLWAR, with their own unique flair. The melodies are both playful and dangerous, and the entire album is excellent from the opener through the closer. “Oath of the Storm” is a fascinating glimpse into the soul of the band, where they let it all out there for you to enjoy. And enjoy it I did!” – 9/10 – Metal Temple (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

”the tracks are face smashing and memorable with enough layers to satisfy even the most tech savvy of you folksters”…….”It’s hard to necessarily give you specifics other than multiple layers of instrumentation, blast beats, keys and symphonic touches with shredding guitar and vocals.”- Folk Metal.NL (Oath of the Storm LP – 2018)

“TROLLWAR deliver “Oath of the Storm”, a strong second work that should not only be interesting for fans of FINNTROLL and ENSIFERUM… The Canadians’ independent, accordion-driven folk black metal proves that real fighting roles don’t just inhabit Scandinavia and the surrounding area. Then a resounding “kippis!” or an elegant “à votre santé!”. 4/5″ – Stormbringer

“Uncompromising and lovable – Oath Of The Storm… Conclusion: “Oath Of The Storm” is an interesting folk metal album and for fans of EQUILIBRIUM or FINNTROLL. TROLLWAR is characterized by good song progression and incredible joy in playing… So if you’re still looking for a Christmas present, you can grab it here without hesitation.” – Metal.de

Insurrection, the powerhouse metal band from Gatineau, Quebec, Canada is excited to release their guitar playthrough video for “Obsession”, offering fans a closer look at the intricate musicianship that defines their sound. This track is part of their recently released album “Obsolescence”, which came out on September 13, 2024, on the label Bam & Co. Heavy. They enthusiastically explain the single:

“This one may be our favourite to jam. It’s 2-ish minutes of grind or at least the type of grind we can still play 20 years into doing this. The lyrics are about being obsessed with perfection. It is basically the song that we cannot help but write. We’re usually a groovy death metal band, but we all love the chaos of grind. At the end of the day, we’ve always done whatever we want and feel like doing, and this song is 100% a reflection of that.”

Watch the guitar playthrough video for “Obsession” via its premiere on TechnicalMusicReview HERE.

Since its formation in 2003, Insurrection has been known for its intense live performances and unique blend of groovy death metal and thrash energy. With a lineup consisting of Stef Jomphe on vocals, Antonin Foisy and Mike Birch on guitars, Martin Samson on bass, and Jay Cross on drums, the band has consistently delivered music that resonates with metal fans across Canada.

“Obsession” captures the essence of Insurrection‘s sound, combining aggressive riffs, powerful vocals, and thought-provoking lyrics in both English and French. Musically, the album is cohesive while also being a little bit all over the place. Every song is patently Insurrection, but each song also pulls a bit of inspiration from somewhere new. They’ve got some that have a grind feel and others that have a touch of prog or thrash. Groove brings it all together. It is recommended for fans of Nevermore, Bloodbath, and Decapitated.

Released on September 13th from Bam & Co. Heavy, “Obsolescence” is available at the following links:

“From the slow, chugging intro to the fast, thrashy chorus, this is pure, unadulterated death metal with plenty of doomy and thrashy elements to keep people on their toes. The band have been at it for 20 years, and this song (The Gathering) is proof that they aren’t slowing down any time soon.” – Decibel Magazine

“This new single (Bless the Machine) goes flat-out right from the start, launched by an extended, serrated-edge scream, rapidly thrusting grooves, and a blizzard of mechanistic yet maniacal riffing. Intestinally deep gutturals proclaim their murderous prayer as the music occasionally seems to dismally moan and wail. The drums methodically chop, but while razor-sharp in their execution they also prove to be just as berserk as the fleet-fingered contortions of the fretwork. And yes, the song includes a head-spinning guitar solo that does sound like a refugee from Castlevania. It’s a hell of a wild, adrenaline-fueled gallop, further fueled by doubled voices screaming, but the song also frequently does sound like malicious machines ecstatically stitching steel through blasted flesh and broken bones — and like the piteous agonies of their victims.” – NoCleanSinging

“the group continues its metallic death proposition and this fifth album (Obsolescence) is intended to be as refreshing as an autumn swim in the Ottawa River. In other words, it keeps you alive and wakes you up.” – Ars Media QC

“Seven years have passed since their album Extraction. Be warned: it’s not in vain. A real punch in the throat! Brutality wall to wall. Despite the pandemic, the guys from Insurrection haven’t taken a break…. Obsolescence leaves you wanting more. For fans, you’ll be well served. For those who didn’t know them, now is a great time to discover them. 8.8/10” – Metal Universe

“Insurrection de Gatineau pulls no punches with Obsolescence which will be released in mid-September. After listening to their two extracts, Bless The Machine and The Gathering, clearly it’s going to be the bomb!” – Thorium Magazine

“Insurrection have easily out-done themselves with Obsolescence. This is, without doubt, world-class, groove-heavy death metal that can go toe to fucking toe with any band in the sub-genre. The production and mix is second to none, perfectly capturing the unique intensity of the songs.” – All Father Metal

“Another fine little slab of death metal from Canada’s Insurrection… Obsolescence is quite varied, first by having songs sung in English and French, but above all their death metal goes anywhere from crunchy death/thrash to melodic death metal to Swedish-style old-school death metal, and hell, some of the USDM school as well while they’re at it. So, they’re kind of all over the place but the album is cohesive, and this little musical rollercoaster stays on the tracks the whole time. The melodic passages are especially catchy, and so are the growls (mostly decipherable) with the vocal lines and some of the lyrics sticking around once it’s all over. Well done. 4/5” – The Metal Crypt

“Obsolescence is a very successful fourth album, once again combining the technique of the Quebec scene and the groove of an old man Gojira or one Revocation, all sprinkled with a good dose of plump violence. In short, we’re having a great time !” – Eklektik Rock

“Insurrection reflect today’s death metal scene rather well. On Obsolescence, we can appreciate clean production, crushing riffs, and a level of technical proficiency that, though elaborate, doesn’t devolve into something too complicated. It’s still easy to find the groove in each of the tracks. Hence, it’s somewhere in the middle between a melodic death metal band like The Black Dahlia Murder and more technical acts like Beyond Creation… it’s a fun listen!” – Heavy Music HQ

“a mangy in-your-face board with rich grooves, some thrashy set pieces and a noticeably thumping bass that knows how to shake up the pit of the stomach a bit, especially after breakfast. ” – PowerMetal.de

“If a well produced and well balanced variety of dynamic extreme metal with a liberal amount of switches back and forth between thrash metal and extreme metal territories is music that tend to interest you, this is an album that should appeal to you.” – Viking in the Wilderness

“Nice and meaty death/melodic death. Catchy groovin stuff!” – Moshpit Radio 89.9 FM WORT (Madison, WI)

This Edmonton-based artist poured his heart and soul into “Parallel Heart”, crafting every note from his home studio. The album’s instrumental focus stems from Jon’s wife’s unwavering support and inspiration, a testament to their incredible bond. Jon’s mastery extends beyond songwriting and recording; he combined the entire album to solidify his position as a complete musical force. The sole exception? Jon’s son, Gabriel, lends his drumming talents to the track “Mehnoynoy” and even collaborates on new tunes for the next album.

While instrumental, “Parallel Heart” pulsates with meaning. The song titles and melodies weave a narrative about navigating relationships and juggling the demands of a busy life. Each track takes you on a captivating journey, from the 80s synth-pop vibes of “97BPM” to the hard-hitting intensity of “Togetherness,” “Wasted Entertainment,” and the album’s title track. The mastering for the record was done by Kevin Ulliac at https://www.vintiquesound.com.

“Parallel Heart” is due out December 13th, 2024 on all major streaming platforms from Epictronic Records.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 14, 2024

Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON’s New Video Dissects “Sealed Hypocrisy”

Third Album “Shattered Elysium” Out Now! via Moribund Records

Canadian thrash Triskelyon unleashed their third album, “Shattered Elysium” this past September via Moribund Records to follow”Artificial Insanity,” (2023) and “Downfall” (2022). With this lethal third strike, Triskelyon’s band leader Geoff Waye once again drafted some of the finest emissaries of the Canadian Metal scene.

Enlisting the vocal talents of guests Amanda Kiernan (Into Eternity, The Order of Chaos), Eric Forrest (E-Force, ex-VoiVod), Tiina Teal (Détente), Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Fíochmhar (Artach), and Des Mason & Pete Healey, this album detonates as a pure and true thrash metal masterpiece. It features a unique style and refreshing variations full of thrashing classics! Traditional yet intricate thrash drum duties are exceptionally executed by Raul Marques (Burning Torment), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), Rick White, and Darrin Pope are conscripted on bass.

Today, Triskelyon presents their latest music video “Sealed Hypocrisy”, which features vocals from Amanda Kiernan (Into Eternity, The Order of Chaos).

Band founder and guitarist Geoff Waye comments:

“Without being overly specific, this song condemns hypocritical individuals or groups who present themselves as virtuous and morally superior, yet whose actions and true nature are deeply flawed and insincere. It expresses revulsion and anger towards these impostors, using vivid imagery to expose and punish their deceit. The song highlights the emptiness of their grand gestures, moral posturing, and empty virtue signaling, ultimately calling for the downfall of their hypocrisy. The video represents just a fraction of the types of groups and individuals that fit this description.”

Triskelyon’s new album “Shattered Elysium” runs the gamut from pure 80’s thrash and speed Metal to classic power Metal, and traditional metal, and even includes some brutal death-thrashers. It attains an impressive new milestone in classic thrash metal, with far-reaching appeal across all heavy metal sub-genres. “Shattered Elysium” truly resurrects the glory days of the 1980s, while maintaining a fresh and modern sound!

In keeping with Triskelyon‘s tradition of closing their albums with an iconic cover, this release delivers a thunderous metal rendition of Duran Duran’s mega-hit “Hungry Like the Wolf.” This powerful transformation is destined to become a radio sensation and ignite a storm of social media buzz!

““Hellbound Hellions” follows and is just a great tune. That scream in the beginning and I knew immediately that Pete Healey was back for another album with Waye. The last of the opening trio and it is a slayer. Killer thrash riffs and Healey’s soaring vocals and a really sick solo makes this one of my favorites on the album.4.5/5” – Metal Rules

“It’s refreshing, for once, to discover a thrash band that aren’t geared towards utter devastation but, rather, crafting a record that an audience can simply put on and vibe to. With more than forty-five minutes to work with, the band still stuck to their guns and applied songwriting that saw every minute feel earned and needed for what their performance entailed.” – The Razor’s Edge

“Waye has shown he can write in any metal style and the guys he got together to perform are world class. The production is pretty big too so, if you like Megadeth, Agent Steel, Exodus, Overkill, etc. then there will be something on here that you like. Me? I liked it all! Hopefully, Canadian metal will be taken a bit more seriously with this release.” – My Global Mind

“classical Thrash Metal tracks and many 80s vibes.” – Metal-Temple

“Heavy, pounding, in-your-face, power metal-laced thrash” – Metal Crypt

“A who’s who of musicians in the Canadian Thrash scene! Riffs and soloing are nothing short of fantastic!” – MetalNoise

“Powerful at the right point but also epic, with sharp and anthemic vocal parts” MetalHead.it

“Power-Thrash equipped with murderous riffs on a technically first-class level with changeable exciting vocal variability.” – FFM-Rock

“Minimal filler and maximum melody!” – Heavy Music HQ

0 Canadian Proggers THE WRING Showcases Riffs and Fingerwork On New Guitar Video “Blur” + New Album “Nemesis” Out Now!

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – October 13, 2024

Canadian Proggers THE WRING Showcases Riffs and Fingerwork On New Guitar Video “Blur”

New Album “Nemesis” Out Now! via WormHoleDeath Records

The Wring – Album Lineup – L-R – Kyle Brian Abbott – Drums, Don Dewulf – Guitars, Reggie Hache – Bass, Vocals & Keyboards

Canadian proggers The Wring released their much-anticipated fourth studio album “Nemesis” this past September. This album marks a significant step in the band’s journey, showcasing a more cohesive and refined sound that blends their heavy rock roots with progressive and jazz influences. With eight tracks spanning just over 40 minutes, “Nemesis” adds a new, technical twist to progressive metal.

Today, Guitarist Don Dewulf shares his latest video for the instrumental track “Blur” via its premiere on V13.net HERE.

“Frank Zappa once said: “lyrics (in his songs) wouldn’t exist at all if it weren’t for the fact that we live in a society where instrumental music is irrelevant”. As someone who appreciates all forms of very progressive music, but also values Frank’s sentiments, if I am going to create an instrumental, it had better be short and interesting. For me, YYZ is the gold standard with La Villa being a stretched-out older cousin. I like to think Blur checks a few of those boxes and that people will enjoy what it has to say.” adds Dewulf.

The Wring‘s new album “Nemesis” explores themes of external and internal conflict, with each song representing a different facet of our struggles. From the driving intensity of tracks like “Badlands” and “The Sword” to the melodic intricacy of “The Nail” and “Before I Disappear”, the album is a dynamic journey through the band’s musical and lyrical vision. Reggie Hache’s expanded role on vocals, bass, and keyboards brings a new depth to The Wring’s sound, while Dewulf’s guitar work continues to anchor the band’s heavy yet nuanced approach.

Throughout “Nemesis,” the playing is tight, precise, and yet still free-flowing. Each instrument complements the others and often provides a steady hand while the other players move in different directions.

Guitarist Don Dewulf comments:

“Thematically, Nemesis speaks to conflict of all sorts. Musically, there is a similar conflict of musical styles. The central idea of every Wring album is to combine many genres in a single song, so while nothing is new, hopefully, the combination can seem fresh or different. For many listeners, even the most dedicated, certain musical stylings are an onerous listen – jazz, prog, even classical. The idea of Nemesis is to give the listener a way to enjoy odd times, peculiar harmony, and aggressive riffs without having to give up their soul to do it. The backbone of every song is firmly rooted in traditional hard rock so there is always something to grab onto.”

Enjoy “Nemesis” as a metal album, a prog album, a rock album, or even a pseudo-jazz affair; it’s all of those things. It is recommended for fans of Dream Theater, Opeth, and Porcupine Tree.

“Nemesis” was released on September 27, 2024, via Wormholedeath Records, with distribution by Aural/Orchard.

“Prog’s Tracks Of The Week (Aug 16)” – The Sword – The Wring – Prog Magazine

“There is a distinct, and quite energetic, 90s prog feel to Nemesis, reminiscent of bands such as Watchtower and Galactic Cowboys. The songs are loaded with intricate drumming, rock-solid bass playing, and great riffs and solos. Hache’s vocals may not work for everyone but they do for me, making this a super addition to any prog fan’s catalog. 4/5” – Heavy Music HQ

“A lesson in classic and modern prog metal! Had Doug Pinnick and Jim Matheos come together for a joint project in the late 80’s, throwing together the progressive list of one with the groovy cornerstones of the other background band, wouldn’t it be so unlikely that the fantastic output wouldn’t stray too far from the Canadians at THE WRING in terms of sound. The band has already released three notable records in the past and has also attracted international attention with “Spectra” (2022)… THE WRING has already created some exciting moments on “Spectra”; However, “Nemesis” is finally the Champions League format that a trio with such advantages would actually have belonged in from the start. 9/10″ – PowerMetal.de

“Heads up prog-metal fans! Canada’s The Wring have a hot new number with “The Sword” and it’s not messin’ around. An early peak from their forthcoming album “Nemesis” due to drop on Sept. 27th, “The Sword” is complex with high power riffs, solos, a double kick throughout and soaring vocals that makesfor a beast of a track. Catch “The Sword” from The Wring on your Home for the Best New Rock…W-J-O-EEEE” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“This album marks a significant step in the band’s journey, showcasing a more cohesive and refined sound that blends their heavy rock roots with progressive and jazz influences. With eight tracks spanning just over 40 minutes, “Nemesis” adds a new, technical twist to progressive metal. – The Prog Space

“recommended to every fan of technically perfect, slightly metallic prog rock, great bass lines” – Betreutes Proggen

“The hard prog songs are powerful and impress in their arrangements. 8/10” – Soundmagnet

“9 years and 4 albums into this band’s career have helped create some astonishing prog metal. It can get as catchy as hard rock radio, it can get as adventurous as jazz metal, and everything in between. I hear as much from bands like Watchtower as I hear as proggier sides of Between The Buried and Me and Cynic. There’s a dark sense of curiosity going on throughout the album that keeps it intriguing. If this sounds like it could be for you (keeping in mind it is all clean vocals), this is more than worth your time. It’s mesmerizing music written without being too wanky and written for the sake of fretboard Olympics, this is authentic. Seriously, give it a spin if you need some throwback but modern prog metal in your life.” – Heavy Debriefings

“The Wring strikes me as a band that explore a variety of progressive rock with a similar attitude as Rush in many ways, but making use of more contemporary impulses as they traverse the landscapes they explore. And I’d hazard a bet that many of the people that find that description interesting will find this album to be an enjoyable one.” – Progressor
