About:

TAIGA was founded in the Siberian city of Tomsk by Nikolai Seredov from the thrash band “Стахановцы” (Stakhanovtsi) and the funeral doom band “Funeral Tears” along with Andrey Chernov, guitarist of the military/martial industrial metal band “Panzertank”. In December 2013, they released their first two songs, “За чертой” and “На битом стекле”, which marked the beginning of the project. People suffering from mental disorders caused by public misunderstanding, undivided love and their own weakness are the main influence in TAIGA’s lyrics. In January 2014, TAIGA released their the first EP called “Ты всё ещё дышишь” (You Are Still Breathing), which was immediately followed by another EP in February 2014, entitled “Прах к праху” (Ashen To Ashen). With great feedback on their EPs, TAIGA revealed their debut full length “Ashen Light” during March 2014. The album featured new arranged tracks from the first two EPs and was co-released by labels Satanath Record, Metallic Media and and Le Crépuscule Du Soir Productions. In 2015, they released their second album “Gaia” via labels Symbol Of Domination and Metallic Media. In 2016, band recruited Aleksey “Satanath” Korolyov as their keyboardist/ambient sound maker to add to their mystic atmosphere. Quick Note: Andrei Chernov was not involved in the recording of the new album ‘Sky’, but is still involved as a member of the band.

Fusing raspy rock vocals with rhythm & blues, visceral lyrics and dark undertones, The Rising Few deliver a heart wrenching, commanding vibe to every room they play. As if The Tragically Hip crossed with The National, Interpol with Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band or even Cat Stevens/Leonard Cohen crossed with Audioslave! The EP will be the follow up to the band’s previous single ‘Big Boy Games’ (music video), and their 2014 debut album ‘Sinners of St. Laurent’ (album stream) produced by the great Glen Robinson whoms mixing and mastering credits have been involved in projects with Dave Grohl’s Probot, The Ramones, The Steve Miller Band, David Bowie, AC/DC, Keith Richards, The Tea Party, Ringo Starr, The Beach Boys and many more over the course of his career. The album was a tribute to the city of Montreal that band founder Karim Terouz has adopted as his new home after immigrating from Cairo, Egypt in 2008 to finally live the artistic life he desired.

MOTOGRATER are gearing up for the release of Desolation, their highly-anticipated sophomore album. The band has released a powerful new music video for the song “Parasite” produced by Brian Cox of Flarelight Films (Gemini Syndrome/Hollywood Undead). Parasite also features guest keys/samples from Justin Fowler of American Head Charge.

Desolation was produced by Ahrue Luster (Ill Nino/Ex-Machine Head) and mixed by Joshua Wickman (Within the Ruins, KING 810). The album was engineered by Luster, Wickman, and Jon Berrier and was recorded at Illustrious Productions, Dreadcore Productions, and Blackplate Productions.

The artwork was provided by Sam Shearon who has created covers for comic books and graphic novels including Clive Barker’s HELLRAISER, Judge Dredd, The X-Files, Mars Attacks, KISS, and Clive Barker’s Books of Blood and album sleeve artwork and merchandise designs for some of the biggest names in rock music, such as Godhead, Ministry, Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, Powerman 5000, Biohazard, American Head Charge, Rammstein, Fear Factory and Kill Devil Hill.

History:

Motograter was formed in 1995 and is most well known for their namesake instrument the “Motograter”, a mysterious contraption designed with industrial cable, guitar pieces, and other components, to create a unique, low, distorted bass sound. The band is widely known for their image, notorious for covering themselves in tribal style body paint. The early stages of the group’s career consisted of heavy experimentation with industrial sounds, samples, and tribal drums. The band released two EP’s ‘Hugh Chardon’ and ‘Indy’ and in 2001 were signed to Sever Records, founded by Dez Fafara of Coal Chamber. In 2003, the band inked a deal with No Name/Elektra Records and released the highly acclaimed, self-titled album ‘Motograter’ featuring Ivan Moody (Five Finger Death Punch/Ghost Machine) on vocals. The song “Suffocate” was featured on the soundtrack to the film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The song “Down” is featured on the EA Sports video game Nascar Thunder 2004. Motograter toured on Ozzfest 2003 and has toured with Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Chevelle, Disturbed, Ministry, Nothingface, Kittie, Mushroomhead, Cradle of Filth, Killswitch Engage, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, Voivod, and many more. In the recent past, Motograter performed Knotfest alongside Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, Danzig, Anthrax, and more; followed by a 2 month, U.S. Headliner in April/May of 2015. Motograter also recently embarked on the Civil Unrest Tour 2015, with ILL Nino, Straight Line Stitch, and more. More recently, Motograter embarked on a U.S. Headlining Tour in February/March 2016 which was well received. Motograter embarked on a North American Tour with American Head Charge (Napalm Records) from May 5th to June 30th, 2016. Tickets are on sale now for the Dope/Flaw/Motograter Tour.

Canadian psychedelic rockers A DEVIL’S DIN will be touring the UK this September in support of their latest album ‘Skylight’ released this past June via Island Dive Records to follow their 2011 debut album ‘One Day All This Will Be Yours’. “Essentially this album is really a tribute to the psychedelic experience. I drew on my own personal involvement with certain consciousness-expanding substances to create a set of songs that would take the listener on a journey, both lyrically and musically. Within these 9 songs there exists a certain contrast between the hallucinatory and the heavy. Obviously we also owe a lot of this album’s influence to another era, not just by sound and texture, but by the spirit of adventure, daring and experimentation that was prevalent then and bring all of that to the world today, right now.”

Bassist Tom G. Stout also adds “Even though we are inspired by LSD trips, we still like to hit hard, and enjoy getting a little aggressive. You have to balance out the light with the darkness, because otherwise you’re not being real.”

About:

A Devil’s Din is made up of 3 musicians born in the Old World who traveled across the ocean to find each other in Montreal, drawn together by a mutual love of melodic, innovative, inventive and daring rock music. Fusing the colourful sounds of Syd Barrett’s Pink Floyd & the psychedelic-era Beatles with intensity of classic power bands like Sabbath, The Who, and Led Zeppelin, as well as the boundary-pushing adventure of Yes, Gentle Giant and King Crimson, A Devil’s Din is an uncommon and uncompromising voice in modern music.

In 2008, UK-born stalwart Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist and session musician David Lines decided he needed to form a musical outfit that would suit his own particular psychedelically-induced musical visions, and thus A Devil’s Din was born. While still working as a musical “gun-for-hire” around town, he continued to develop the songs and sound for A Devil’s Din–which he considers an Art Project not to be tainted by commercial desires–recording their first album One Day All This Will Be Yours between 2009 and 2010, and releasing it on his own label Island Dive Records in 2011.

Though the musicians on that record were excellent, it wasn’t until Lyonnais bassist and disciple of the Holy Trinity of Rickenbacker Bass (John Entwistle, Chris Squire and Geddy Lee) Thomas Chollet entered the picture, along with drummer Dom Salameh (whose being born in Abu Dhabi did not at all prevent him from becoming an ardent Keith Moon devotee) that the sound really began to take shape. The synergy of the three took the music to another level, as witnessed at their intense and energetic live shows and has been made manifest on the new A Devil’s Din album SKYLIGHT that is set for release on June 17th, 2016.

A Devil’s Din continues to travel further afield in the world of psychedelic and progressive rock music, transforming listeners’ minds where ever they go.

Calgary thrashers ILLYRIAN have teamed up with PureGrainAudio.com for a one, two punch with an extra kick to the junk for the exclusive FREE download of their new song ‘Round 2: Fight!’, which is the first single and title track from their upcoming album due out on October 7th. Ottawa, ON’s loud, wild and heavy anthemic rock n’rollers HELLBROS have posted a new live video covering Motorhead’s classic track ‘Ace of Spades’. The video was filmed during a performance at Moose McGuire’s in Ottawa and is more like Ace of Spades on speed with HELLBROS playing the song in record time!

“We’ve been playing Ace of Spades for years and Motorhead has always been a big influence on our band. In 2014, we took a band trip and had a chance to rub shoulders with them on Motorhead’s Motorboat cruise that ran through the Gulf of Mexico. A good time we will never forget! Straight outta Canada’s capital, Ottawa Ontario, Hellbros are anything but a bunch of latte sipping civil servants. Instead they spend their time crafting loud, belligerent rock n roll with heaps of attitude. Brothers Peter Jurt (vocals, guitar) & Christian Jurt (guitar) along with childhood friends Josh Roy (drums, vocals) and Mat ‘Spag’ Collins (bass, vocals) create the high-energy quartet that blast out “loud, wild and heavy, excellent stuff as you’d like to point your bucket of beer to the sky while screaming and shouting alongside brothers and sisters during a nightly wild party” – Metal To Infinity

2015 began a great year for the Hellbros, they signed with Bad Reputation Records (Fr) and released their 3rd album, ‘Self Titled’, on September 15th in Europe. A follow up to their debut full length album ‘Goodtime Machine’, which took home the fan voted best rock/hard rock album of the year in the 2012 Independent Music Awards. They once again teamed up with engineer and co-producer Dean Hadjichristou and mixer Riccardo ‘Paso’ Pasini for this album.

November 2015 Hellbros released an unofficial anthem during the Grey Cup week for the Ottawa Redblacks CFL football team. The song entitled, “We’re All Redblacks” was debuted on TSN1200 radio. “Pretty strong effort!, well sung, well performed.” – JR TGOR Show The song was also picked up by Ottawa’s Classic Rock station Chez 106.1 – “Hellbros getting us all in the mood for the Ottawa Redblacks game!” – Woody (Chez 106)

In June 2016 Hellbros will head overseas for a run of shows in Europe that bring them through Belgium, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Germany & the Netherlands. Just like Hellbros latest album their shows will start off with a “hardrock-like ‘heeeeeell yeaaah!’” and just like it does on their album it will set the tone for the rest of the show.
