Sci-Fi Metal RAPHEUMETS WELL Reveal Upcoming Album ‘Enders Door’ Artwork + Track Listing + Pre-Order

‘Enders Door’ Due Out May 26th via Test Your Metal Records

Blending a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds, Hickory, N.C. based RAPHEUMETS WELL (Ra-few-mets) bring forth a voyage enriched with lore, fabricated from scratch to show the depth in which represents them as artists.

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel.  Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers.  The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

“We created this name in hopes of personifying a living gateway between dimensions.  We love science fiction and a few of us have extended education and degrees in science.” says drummer Joshua Ward.

Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse. In 2016, they released their highly praised sophomore album ‘The Exile’ via Test Your Metal Records.

Now in 2017, from the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities once again with the band’s third release ‘Enders Door’ due out on May 26th via Test Your Metal Records.

The synopsis of this album is in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos.

Upon arriving to retrieve the artifact, it became apparent that Eryos’s brother Nathyiem would never make it to their arranged meeting point.  In departing from the planet Vaath, Eryos received a distress signal from his brother’s ship, coming from an uncharted planet.  Upon arriving, he found an odd world inhabited by a mysterious species called the Dreth led by lecherous matriarch named Eishar.  It is here that he would uncover a faced-door, an inter-dimensional gateway to the Ender.

An album preview of ‘Enders Door’ is now streaming on TYMR‘s Youtube channel, plus the album cover and track listing is revealed below.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine

“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing

“The Exilebrings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric

“Weapons Of Thrash Destruction is relentless from start to finish.” – Bravewords

“The Canadian quintet Terrifier knows full well what its strengths are and it plays to them in spades on the wonderfully titled Weapons of Thrash Destruction…This is a fine thrash record. Should make for a fun concert, too.” – The Vancouver Sun

“Terrifier proudly delivers a true-to-form tribute to the genre that thoroughly kicked the ass of the 1980s: thrash…It’s clear, metal music is not dead. Lurking in the shadows of the music industry are new artists like Terrifier, mastering their crafts, looking to flip the industry on its head. Weapons of Thrash Destruction is an impressive effort, explosively blending classic tricks with a modern, fresh feel.” – Beatroute BC

“Strike in the name of old school Metal, kneel before the gods of Metal that brought you the best music ever played in stereo, hail the insanity delivered by fast paced riffing and unholy melodic rhythms.” – Metal Temple

“The music is fast and tight, the riffs are complex and fun, the production, solos, and vocals are all spot-on, and there’s plenty of humor to boot. In other words, everything one should want from a thrash album is on Weapons of Thrash Destruction.” – Angry Metal Guy

“an old school thrash cocktail designed to blow a hole right through the bulkhead.” – Amps and Green Screens

“This album (Weapons of Thrash Destruction) is straight up unapologetic thrash! Love the album.” – CJSF – Metal Meltdown

Set to unleash their sophomore album “II: Vanishing” digitally on April 14th via their Bandcamp with physical cassette release June 2017 (date to be determined) via Sunmask Records, Ottawa, ON doom metal trio LONGHOUSE has teamed up with ToiletOvHell.com for the exclusive premiere of their second single ‘Vigil’ featuring JD Gobeil from Loviatar.

Vocalist/ bassist Joshua Cayer comments:

“This song was written as a collaborative effort with JD Gobeil from Loviatar. It is an exploration of stories of the Thunderbirds. In First Nations stories and traditions, the Thunderbirds are powerful spirits, second only to the Creator. These immense birds dwell in the mountains and have the primary purpose of protector and nurturer of Mother Earth – guarding her from harm, quenching her thirst, and replenishing her garments. Thunderbirds are the enemy of the horned-serpents, who live deep beneath the waters and threaten to spread across the land and devour all life. They hold a constant vigil, to protect Mother Earth and all life from their foe. The Thunderbird is a good spirit, however, they are to be feared as they are quick to anger by those who ignore or disobey the natural laws, and are indifferent to humans and animals in their guardianship of our Mother, the earth.”

‘Vigil’ can be heard on ToiletOvHell.com at http://www.toiletovhell.com/premiere-longhouse-the-vigil/

and the band’s first single ‘No Name, No Marker’ can be heard at https://longhouse1.bandcamp.com/track/no-name-no-marker-2

LONGHOUSE came into being in 2013 when guitarist Marc Casey and bassist/vocalist Joshua Cayer turned their long-standing song-writing partnership into a full band with drummer Mike Hache to complete their circle of dark, riffy, heavy textured doom metal. They released their debut album ‘Earth from Water’ in 2015, a spiritual odyssey into the perseverance of the human spirit and the lessons we can learn from the natural world.

In November 2016, LONGHOUSE returned to Wolf Lake Studios to record with Mike Bond (Loviatar, Norilsk, Arms of the Girl) once again as producer and engineer for the outcome to be their sophomore album entitled “II: Vanishing”. The album continues the pleasing progression of their debut while retaining the band’s core sound of heavy, intricate riffs, splashed with a touch of post-metal to guide you on a dark and visceral journey spanning nearly 40 minutes over five tracks.
Cayer adds:

“II: Vanishing has a logical evolution that is evident in the composition, as well as production. I also think that fans should take a moment to reflect on some of themes that are threaded throughout the album.” says vocalist / bassist Joshua Cayer. “The bulk of my ideas musically and lyrically come from exploring Indigenous ways of knowing. I am Algonquin First Nations. My family’s community is Kitigan Zibi, outside of Maniwaki, QC. However, I grew up in the city, mostly detached from my culture. As a father, I have been trying to immerse myself in the stories, wisdom, and strength of our Elders, knowledge keepers and story tellers, so that I can pass that on to my daughters. Because this takes up so much space in terms of who I am, and who I am becoming, it plays a very large part in terms of influences I draw upon.”

Track Listing:
1. Hunter’s Moon (8:38)
2. Vanishing (6:13)
3. Blood And Stone (5:57)
4. No Name, No Marker (7:59)
5. The Vigil (10:06)
EP Length: 38:55

“These Canadian doomsters may have a penchant for blistering fuzz-laden riffs, but there’s just as much focus on this, their second album, on atmospherics. Post-metal-influenced sonics are integral from the opening moments of the album, and remain throughout….Longhouse are to be commended for one thing, it’s the skill with which they blend the elements of their sound to provide a full-length that is as primitive as it is sinister.” – Bonded By Metal – 8/10

“Man, I don’t think I’ve been this geeked out about a Canadian post-sludge record since Pyres put out Year of Sleep back in 2013!” – Hellbound.ca – 8/10

“The one song from the album released for public listening so far is “No Name, No Marker“, and if you guess that refers to graves, you would be correct. It’s a riveting mix of doom and post-metal with blackened shrieking in the vocal department. After a haunting, grief-stricken opening, the track becomes heavier and more intense by orders of magnitude, eventually becoming a big juggernaut of earthquaking chugs and groaning chords, with guitar leads that shimmer, flicker, and spiral around the powerful rhythms like ghost lights. The wrenching vocals add to the music’s intensity, and the grinding bass solo is a nice touch as well.” – No Clean Singing

“Longhouse plays a musical style that takes sludge and doom metal and mixes them with with a very heavy vocal approach to create a very dark sounding recording, the production sounds very professional while the lyrics cover various spiritual and occult concepts.”  – Doomed to Darkness

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 31, 2017

For Fans of Husker Du, The Ramones

Out Now! Vancouver’s GNASH RAMBLER Release Self-Titled Debut Album

All great bands have a great name and the splendidly-named Gnash Rambler is no exception. Their name is a combination of that of a classic car and vocalist Nick Venditti’s habit of gnashing his teeth! Influenced by The Ramones, Motorhead, Husker Du, The Who and the Beatles, Gnash Rambler offer a superb brand of ‘hooky punk rock – tinged power pop”, which can now be heard on their debut self-titled album released on March 31st.

“Many of the songs are just me reflecting on where we’re going these days. The anxiety felt by so many folks on account of all the crazy things going on in the world and even crazier things going on closer to home. We have probably always lived in interesting times, but because of technology our ability to be aware is always going to be at odds with how we process our feelings.” says vocalist Nick Venditti.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 31, 2017

For Fans of Black Sabbath, The Sword, Clutch, Truckfighters, Priestess, Mastodon, Red Fang, Thin Lizzy

TheObelisk Premiere WOODHAWK ‘Quest For Clarity’ + “Vagabonds of The Western Gig Tour” (BC/AB/SK/MB)

And Riff-tastic Debut LP “Beyond The Sun” Out April 7th

New Video “The High Priest“

From the foot of the majestic Rocky Mountains comes Calgary, Alberta’s WOODHAWK. Masters of straight ahead riff-rock wizardry, the power trio released an EP in 2014 and have continued forging ahead. Made of equal parts 1970’s Birmingham and a myriad of 21st century heavy who’s who, WOODHAWK are purveyors of riff-centric rock and roll. Capable and original, the band is able to craft anthemic fist-pumping songs while forgoing tired stoner rock clichés. With time travel tested themes of science fiction, swords and sorcery, the band’s lyrics are born from snowy winters, hot practice spaces and pages of dog-eared paperbacks. While the musicianship reinforces recollections of Black Sabbath, modern influences that have helped you smash air drums or highway speed limits are undeniably present.

Set to unleash their debut full-length ‘Beyond The Sun’ produced by the band with Jesse Gander (Bison, Japandroids) on April 7th, the band are giving a fans a taste of their second single ‘Quest For Clarity’ exclusively premiered on TheObelisk.net at the following link: http://theobelisk.net/obelisk/2017/03/31/woodhawk-beyond-the-sun-quest-for-clarity-and-tour/

Vocalist / guitarist Turner Midzain comments on the track:

“‘Quest for Clarity’ was one of the last songs we wrote for the record. It’s about taking a step back and really looking around at what’s going on. Sometimes you need to step back in order to move forward. We felt this song really tied the two sides of the album together. It’s a bit of a different side of us with more harmonies and contrast than some of our previous straight-ahead riffers.”

The band first single video ‘The High Priest’ can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5g5jTKtEfM

“As I was walking into the venue, I began hurrying up the stairs as their sound captured my attention right away and was quickly swept up into their thick pulse thumping guitars and huge powerhouse drum sound.” – Vancity Buzz

“Calgarian riff-riders Woodhawk kicked off the proceedings, hitting all the gritty notes with their raucous roadhouse metal. Propane and Jack flowed freely as the golden western trio woke all them witches with their thematic rock fury.” – Beatroute Magazine

0 NEWS: Out Now! THIS GUN FOR HIRE Debut Album ‘Something A Little More Sinister’

(contact info below)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – March 31, 2017

For fans of Alexisonfire, Every Time I Die, Thrice, Underoath, Beartooth

Out Now! THIS GUN FOR HIRE Debut Album ‘Something A Little More Sinister’

This Gun For Hire Band Biography Video: https://youtu.be/uppSKtSb6Mc

Formed in 2015, Vancouver’s THIS GUN FOR HIRE is a genuine band of brothers that have built a long-lasting friendship through the music they play. Unleashing a power punch of their rock tinged melodic metalcore / post hardcore; the band has unleashed their debut album ‘Something A Little More Sinister’ out now as of March 31st. The album was recorded with engineer and producer Roger Swan (K-OS, Battle Axe) to present their first clutch of original songs to showcase to the world. The twelve track release displays a keen awareness of pace and dynamics. Moving deftly from the seething chaos of the eponymous opener to the grandiose and melodic epic of ‘To The Fallen And The Faithful’ and back again for the staccato grunt of ‘Barn Burner’ to finish the record. Taking cues from Alexisonfire, Every Time I Die, Underoath, Beartooth, The Holly Springs Disaster, the band describes their sound as “fast, heavy, sincere, atmospheric, and meaningful”.

“It’s just music we all feel the need to write. Metal with no boundaries is what got us together. There is way too much fluff going on now in this genre. It’s lost its integrity. We hope people can walk away with one of our songs stuck in their head. Or looking for more!” says guitarist Tyler Burns.

‘Something A Little More Sinister’ is available through iTunes, Spotify, Amazon.
