Sci-Fi Metal RAPHEUMETS WELL Premiere New Video ‘Enders Door’ via SkullsnBones

‘Enders Door’ Due Out May 26th via Test Your Metal Records

Launch Album Pre-Order

Hickory, N.C. sci-fi metal band RAPHEUMETS WELL (Ra-few-mets) will be releasing their next full length ‘Enders Door’ via Test Your Metal Records on May 26th. Once again they will being bring forth a voyage enriched with lore and a sound that is a complex mix of classical orchestrations, cosmic synths, and extreme metal to portray the epics of parallel worlds.

The synopsis of this album is in the fifth era of the Avomenian Empire, amidst the planetary ruins of Vaath, a rogue traveler would discover an artifact that would forever change his place in the cosmos.

Upon arriving to retrieve the artifact, it became apparent that Eryos’s brother Nathyiem would never make it to their arranged meeting point.  In departing from the planet Vaath, Eryos received a distress signal from his brother’s ship, coming from an uncharted planet.  Upon arriving, he found a odd world inhabited by a mysterious species called the Dreth led by lecherous matriarch named Eishar.  It is here that he would uncover a faced-door, an inter-dimensional gateway to the Ender.

Teaming up with SkullsnBones.com, RAPHEUMETS WELL premiere their new music video for the album’s first single and title track.

Drummer Joshua Nassaru Ward comments:

“The song “Enders Door” highlights our albums mission to present this odd story in which the traveler, following his brothers distress beacon from what seems to be a downed ship, finds himself in a very uncompromising situation with a inter-dimensional being and the agenda of a lecherous female named Eishar.  The video is completely self produced and with the help of David “King” Johnson, we tried to capture elements of our story while presenting the technicality and emotion of our music.  In many ways we are trying to convey issues we all deal with through our music such as confusion, anxiety, fear, and revelation in seeking truth.  There is symbolism here of course; in our pursuits to find ourselves we must brave trials that permit our weakness to manifest to find tangible truth.”

About:

Inspired by the fictitious universe of Sovael, RAPHEUMETS WELL is the name coined to the conscious deity who oversees the anastomosis of the multiverse, the master of portals and inter-dimensional travel.  Being personified as a trickster, Rapheumet often creates chaos for unsuspecting voyagers.  The word “Well” refers to the gravity wells, which like black holes, are catalyst of change and gateways between the cosmic plains.

Formed in 2008, 2011 and 2012 saw their first two demos followed by their first self release full length ‘Dimensions’ unleashed in 2014 that progressively told a larger story portrayed in a complex saga of Atai (ancient architects) who aid in the propagation of sentient life throughout the multi-verse. In 2016, they released their highly praised sophomore album ‘The Exile’ via Test Your Metal Records.

Now in 2017, from the birth of organic matter to great wars that tear the fabric of space/time, the story of RAPHEUMETS WELL‘s music serves to immerse you into a world of oddities once again with the band’s third release ‘Enders Door’ due out on May 26th via Test Your Metal Records.

“Hickory, NC’s Rapheumets Well(pronounced Ra-few-mets) is a band heavily steeped in science fiction and fantasy. And when I say heavily, I mean HEAVILY. They slam dunk their lushly orchestral and luxurious symphonic melodic blackened death metal into a fantastical and fantastically creative and complex world that I don’t even want to embarrass myself trying to explain. But, you gotta give mad ol’ props to any band willing to dive head first into something as elaborately conceptual as this costumed and inventive septet have from the off.” – Decibel Magazine

“if you like the theatrical havoc generated by Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir, for example, you’ll fall in love for the music found in The Exile, the brand new concept album by the symphonic horde known as Rapheumets Well. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“As you’re about to find out, this first song from the new album combines turbocharged death metal vehemence with sweeping orchestral melodies, interweaving blazing drumwork and rapid-fire riffing with cosmic synthesizer vistas and fluid soloing, vicious growls and hair-raising shrieks with a vaulting clean-sung passage that coincides with the protagonist’s decision to end his apathy.” – No Clean Singing

“The Exilebrings symphonic elements to more intense and sometimes speedy death metal. Solid bursts of adrenaline, with the symphonies effectively working to provide a balance to these heavier moments, as heard in “The Epic of Darmak.” But the band is more than a one-trick pony, and frequently gives way to other flights of fancy while keeping the death metal sharp…an album that is well-written and enjoyable from start to finish. The potential is there for the band to really spread their wings for album number three.” – Dead Rhetoric

0 NEWS: Chilean/Canadian Thrashers SOCIAL ARSONIST – BC/AB Dates + Loud As Hell Fest

(contact info below)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 18, 2017

For fans of Lamb of God, Shadows Fall, In Flames, Early Classic Thrash of the Big 4

Chilean/Canadian Thrashers SOCIAL ARSONIST – BC/AB Dates + Loud As Hell Fest

Chilean/Canadian thrash hybrid SOCIAL ARSONIST will be hitting the road for dates across British Columbia and Alberta for the month of May, which will then be followed by a tour of Chile and a return to Canada to perform at the Loud As Hell festival in Drumheller, AB (full dates listed below).

Formed in Chile in 2009 by bassist Dario Zuniga and guitarist Manuel Morgado, the two musicians were unable to locate the perfect vocalist in their home country and turned the World Wide Web. Finding Canadian singer Cayle Charlton, the duo worked with him for years via the internet, honing their material before taking the ultimate step of relocating to Canada.

With a full line up in Vancouver, BC, the fiery crucible of Chilean thrash met the icy cauldron of Canadian metal to create an explosive storm built on a foundation of classic thrash and modern metal resulting in two releases. Their 2016 full length ‘Duality of Perception’ and 2014 debut EP ‘De-Evolution of Thy Self’ both demonstrate the hardship of the band’s sound that is aggressive, fast, intense, catchy and disruptive.

Bassist Dario Zuniga reveals that SOCIAL ARSONIST are inspired by subjects beyond metal clichés.

“The whole album carries the Social Arsonist aggression and message of rebellion and anguish against the institutionalization of society plus we have a wide range of influences, including a South American flavouring that everyone seems to enjoy, and coming from South America just to play our music in Canada, we put a lot of effort and passion into our performance!”

0 NEWS: Canadian Atmospheric Post-Metal ABANDONED PALACE Offer Free Download “Shades of Autumn”

  • April 14, 2017

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – April 14, 2017

Canadian Atmospheric Post-Metal ABANDONED PALACE Offer Free Download “Shades of Autumn”

Canadian atmospheric post-metal project ABANDONED PALACE have just released their new single “Shades of Autumn” for free download or pay-what-you-want via their Bandcamp site at the following link: https://abandonedpalace.bandcamp.com/track/shades-of-autumn

It’s been 2 years since the release of their self titled debut EP and mastermind Von Warugi (AKA Chris Warunki, drummer of prog metal band OmnisighT) says “This is just something to bridge the gap between our debut EP and the full length album to follow, likely late 2017.”

As for the alter-ego he states “It’s just a way to bring out my dark side musically and distinguish myself as a composer/producer. The drums really take a back seat to everything else going on within the songs; in fact I’m always writing the drum parts dead last, whereas in OmnisighT, the drums are my primary role and focus.”

ABANDONED PALACE was formed in 2013 (debut EP released in 2015) and involves Von Warugi handling all writing, instruments and production – you could almost call it a “solo project” were it not for the lead vocals and lyrics where he’s joined by his faithful collaborator, known only as “The Void”; whose contributions on “Shades of Autumn” range dynamically from whispers to black metal and death metal style vocals.

Lyrically “It’s a reflection on inevitability. Fear of what we all must face can be crippling, but there is much to appreciate along the way, just like the colours of fall. As time goes by, it can get easier to lose sight of that until it’s too late…” says The Void.

Musically, ABANDONED PALACE weave a somber spell of black, folk, doom, gothic and atmospheric metal to create an intoxicating concoction that would likely appeal to fans of Agalloch, Katatonia, Swallow The Sun and Coldworld.

About:

Powerful vocals, electrifying harmonica, and emotive performances are the characteristics that have made Matt Blais an artist of high regard. With the ability to enthrall audiences as a solo performer or thrill them with his band, the charismatic Blais expands the Canadiana genre by sharpening the edge of rock, blues, and folk. He is at home on stage, with many tours, festivals, and performances in Canada and countries around the world. Sharing the stage with some of Canada’s biggest acts like Blue Rodeo, The Trews, and The Strumbellas, (to name a few), has helped shape Blais into a consummate showman. Matt’s independently released recordings have garnered critical acclaim, sold thousands of copies, led to a collaboration with Sam Roberts, and earned him multiple awards such as “The Great American Song Contest” in 2016. His proudest accomplishment, however, is the lasting relationship he has with his fans. Having almost frozen to death when the tour van broke down in northern Canada to dragging his guitar through the Australian outback, Matt Blais is a dedicated troubadour in search of authentic experiences. He is living proof that hard work and honest artistry are present in today’s world and still desired by music lovers.

“Frontman Matt Blais knows how to work a crowd and he is far from afraid of showing off his talents.” – The Scene Magazine (Live Review – Indie Week 2013)

“Over the past five years, Matt Blais has been generating a catalogue of material that is both emotive and relatable. His passionate live performances demonstrate eagerness to create heartfelt songs and nowhere is more evident than on his newest album, The Heartbeat, where a poetic personality fuses with growing life experience.” – Beatroute AB.

That success, he says, has nudged him to step his game up, as a performer and songwriter, which he thinks he’s done with his latest release The Heartbeat,” – Calgary Herald

“Blais uses heavily-charged emotional lyrics as well as a gritty band behind him to produce a blues-slash-rock sounds, which has been commended by many local media sources. His sound is highlighted by a sometimes raspy voice, which helps to fill the total appearance of the band.” – Grande Prairie Herald

“His high energy set was a definite crowd pleaser, and everyone was up out of their seats for the entire performance. With a voice reminiscent of The Cat Empire (minus the accent), Blais powered through his rock songs, and showed his ability to go in a bluesy direction, with accompanying harmonica, that really brings out the grit in his vocals. Keeping with the theme of the opening acts, Blais brought in a cover of “Are You Gonna Go My Way” by Lenny Kravitz that was thundering, with good horn additions to make it his own. He transitioned smoothly to Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition“, but a version that was slower, harder and very slick. Next, a cover of Franz Ferdinand’s “Take Me Out“, full of the same joy and energy that Blais showed with the rest of the set, highlighting the great new material on the release. METALOCALYPSTICK FEST, the Western Canadian outdoor festival that just doesn’t celebrate heavy metal, but embraces the power of women in metal announce their 2017 line up for Canada Day weekend July 1st and 2nd in Lone Butte, BC. This year’s line up features bands from across Canada and beyond with Cabrakaan (Toluca, Mexico), Sovereign Council (Kingston, ON), Violent Betty (Saskatoon, SK), Atmora (Windsor, ON), Scythia (Calgary, AB), Massive Scar Era (Vancouver, BC / Cairo, Egypt) and many more!

Festival organizer Kaija Kinney comments:

“This year’s lineup is yet again a wide range of metal, everything from punk to folk metal. There really is something for everyone here and a chance to broaden your taste in music. Though we scaled back on our headliners this year, we did not scale back on the level of talent. We are super excited for all the bands playing. There will be some bands that blew us away last year returning and some amazing new talent from across the globe. You think listening to music on vinyl is heavenly? Listen to music surrounded by mountains!”

About:

www.metalocalypstickfest.rocks
www.facebook.com/metalocalypstickfest/

Formed in 2016 and based in Valemount, BC near Jasper National Park with the beautiful backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, METALOCALYSPTICK was created to present a unique experience within the Western Canadian metal community, a gathering of similar views, aspirations and musical taste. (similar to former mainstream music festival Lilith Fair.)

The festival was founded by Kaija Kinney of Vancouver’s Anarcheon after researching a lack of female based metal festivals to apply her band to, Kinney took matters into in her own and decided to produce the event.

“This festival means the celebration of both sexes coming together and creating something amazing. People like to say women in metal aren’t a big deal anymore and that we are all the same. I feel that is untrue, this is still a male dominated world and woman are still looked as lesser. I want to showcase all these bad ass ladies and celebrate the differences of men and woman rather than pretend we are all equal. Truth is we are different why can’t we celebrate that?” says Kinney.

The 1st annual Metalocalypstick in 2016 hosted female influenced metal bands from across Canada and the world such as Brazil’s Nervosa (Napalm Records), Egypt’s Massive Scar Era, Hollywood’s The Maension, Valfreya, Scythia, Mortillery (Napalm Records), Van Halst, Dead Asylum, Juliet Ruin, Violent Betty, Omega Crom, Körperlose Stimme, Elysium Echoes, Solborn, Monarch Sky, Forsaken Rite, Anarcheon, and Suspended.

Vancouver’s NINJASPY, a trio of blood brothers that have created a metal fusion of hard, heavy, hook-laden music that runs the gamut of reggae, surf and more will be releasing their next full length ‘Spüken’ due out April 14, 2017. The album is once again produced by GGGarth Richardson (Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Mudvayne, Gallows) and Ben Kaplan (Biffy Clyro, Atreyu, Haste the Day) to follow their 2013 EP / graphic novel ‘No Kata’ and 2007 debut ‘Pi Nature’. The album was crowd funded and helped the band raise $15,000 to record the new full length, which features a culmination of nearly a decade of songs that have been narrowed down to an epic 10 track experience to demonstrate all their downbeats to breakdowns to their weaving of reggae, hardcore, metal and much more.

Before its official release, NINJASPY have teamed up with Idioteq.com for exclusive full stream premiere of the album at the following link: http://www.idioteq.com/ninjaspy-spuken-record-premiere/

Vocalist / guitarist Joel Parent comments:

“Spüken is the musical equivalent of a magician removing his own entrails. The guts just keep coming, like handkerchiefs from a sleeve, and its painful, colourful and cathartic all at once, in the same way that vomiting after hours of nausea is such a relief. The musical ideas that came together in this project span many years and come from many influences. Hearing them all together is a trip. There were a lot of hard times in the years while this record was being written and most, if not all of these songs are tied together by the search for something greater than oneself. Empowerment by going through ones pain, all this is woven into an album that is another spastic stylistic roller coaster not unlike our previous albums, but with smoother blending. From song to song there is a lot of variance, but within songs we have managed to take contrasting genres and combine them in more nuanced ways, with less hard cuts. This album is colourful, and the palette is dark.”

‘Spüken’
will be available as of April 14th on the band’s online store, iTunes, CD Baby and Bandcamp.

Inspired by such giants as Goijira, Sikth, Meshuggah, Dillinger Escape Plan, Between The Buried And Me, SLAGDUSTER offer a progressive, groovy, creative, unique and heavy sound. It’s been a few years since their 2010 debut album ‘Nature.Humanity.Machine’ hit playlists for metal fans around the globe and now the isolated band from Grand Forks, BC return in 2017 to unleash their follow up ‘Deadweight’ due out on May 5th, 2017. Previously giving fans two singles to check out ‘Mother’s Milk’ (listen here) and ‘Peeping Ron’ (listen here),  SLAGDUSTER is sharing another track off the upcoming release with an exclusive premiere on Mathcore Index for ‘Profane Puppet’ at the following link: http://www.mathcoreindex.com/2017/04/exclusive-premiere-slagduster-profane.html

“witness their antics and groove metal.” – Beatroute (Live review Armstrong Metalfest 2016)

“this is one seriously cool album — a collection of inventive, head-spinning songs played by four extremely talented musicians.” – No Clean Singing (review of 2010’s Nature. Humanity. Machine.)

“Although Slagduster’s music thrives on instrumental variation on themes within each song, with dynamic tempos and even occasional changes in time signature, the songs remain anchored to driving rhythms that organize the jumping, darting complexity of the music.”- No Clean Singing (review of 2010’s Nature. Humanity. Machine.)

“This release is oddly appealing, intriguing, a little different and undeniably catchy.
Step outside your comfort zone and give this diverse chunk of metal a spin you may well be surprised as was I. Definite groove, unpredictable melodies all in a style that’s wholly enjoyable.” – Thy Demons Be Scribblin (review of 2010’s Nature. Humanity. Machine.)
