Recently signing to Vancouver, BC’s TEST YOUR METAL RECORDS this past December, North Carolina sci-fi metallers XAEL have their next video offering “Last Arbiter” as part of their forthcoming sci-fi adventure album of the same title set for later release in 2018.

Following their previously unleashed story tracks “Apathy of the Immortal”, “Watchers of Xan”, “SRAI (Chained to the Demon of Erring)“ available for free download on bandcamp here. “The Last Arbiter” continues their science fiction experience with the following excerpt.

“I arrived on this alien world, along with the watchers of Xan seeking only their counsel, that they would welcome my wisdom and forsake their warfarin ways. They entertained our thoughts and for a second, took interest in our endeavors but it was short lived.

Upon the chambers of the Tymeer capitol, news came declaring war between the three houses of Tymeer which included the outer colonies of the inhabited star system of Ezhani Yata Edaa.  It was imperative to quail the feuds of the Tymeer, being that they are the great seat of the “tribunal of the outer rim.”  It’s an old world, an odd and barbaric place.

During our visit, we were to witness a odd assortment of events, each one heralded by a enigmatic and cloaked figure, one that I witnessed whispering with one of the master counselors. It seems to be an assassin of a sorts, something we have grown quite fond of in our travels, but this one seemed eerily gifted and was upon our shadows before we were aware.

The warships floated over head as I left the capitol.  Once again, bearing witness to their idiocy, I am leaving them to their fate for it is now none of my concern.  It is time to go into exile once more, for they will soon scar the planet.

As I ventured into the wastelands I could hear the barrage of weapons and explosions, shaking the foundation in which I step.  Fools, for their lust of desire erodes them from within.  Leaving the watchers of Xan in the city, I began walk in the wastelands aimlessly, wounded not by weapons or hate but by the pride and desires of the sentient world, hoping to find purpose once more.”

Watch “Last Arbiter” at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pDiWtgZiLiE

Vocalist / guitarist / studio drummer Nassaru adds about their forthcoming debut album:

“We will have eight songs standard and two instrumental tracks. Instead of releasing an album upfront, we want fans to share in our progress in a musical series, releasing two songs a month to allow more time for fans to appreciate the work and for us to best represent the songs in some form of art to convey the entirety of our vision….The album series is called ‘The Last Arbiter’, referring to the protagonist’s mission in the story and his pursuit of an unattainable purpose in pacifying the destructive nature of the sentient world. It will be different and very diverse, but at its core it is extreme metal, melodies in abundance, and storytelling bard style! So I believe it will be refreshing…something different combining symphonic and folk elements with brutal metal…We want to paint a soundscape, a myriad of imaginative and diverse environments while exploring the complications of being sentient and self-aware.”

In additional news, XAEL‘s debut live performance will be as local support for theSeptic Flesh, Dark Funeral and Thy Antichrist North American tour stop in Spartanburg, SC on March 13th (full details here).

XAEL vocalist / guitarist / studio drummer Nassaru comments:

“We are very excited for the opportunity to open for Septicflesh, Dark Funeral, and Thy Antichrist and especially for our debut show, which will be at Ground Zero (venue) in Spartanburg, SC. Our appearance here will mark the beginning of our live endeavors as we take our show on the road. Having the opportunity to open for music acts that we respect and as fans ourselves is the best way for us to kick off our journey!”

XAEL was founded by Nassaru of Rapheumets Well/Enthean as well as Sorgiem “Daniel Presnell,” Tuurm “Alex Rush” from Enthean, and Xolotl “Fernando Ortega” and features various guest artists. Vocalist / guitarist / studio drummer Nassaru describes the band’s music as “a thought provoking metal journey.”

BIO:

Mark Twain memorably wrote: “Everyone is a moon, and everyone has a dark side, which he never shows to anyone.” Well Italian Partycore/Electrocore/Metalcore band WE HAVE THE MOON have a Bright Side; which they are about to show to the whole world; throwing moonlight on the greatest parties seen in Italy since the time of the Romans!

Hail Caesar, we who about to Party salute you!

Inspired by Asking Alexandria, Enter Shikari, Eskimo Callboy, Crossfaith, and Bring Me The Horizon , WE HAVE THE MOON describe their unique sound as “sparkling, powerful, brave, passionate, genuine.”

Recently signed to Rockshots Records, they will release their aptly-titled concept album ‘Till The Morning Comes’ on February 23, 2018. Start the party countdown now!

WE HAVE THE MOON live for their band…and to party!

“The band is the strongest thing in our lives. We want to entertain and captivate, sharing our passion with as many people as possible…The moon represents the night, where our songs often take place. We own the night…We Have The Moon! Our lyrics are inspired by personal experiences, we think that having experienced in the first place certain situations is the best way to transmit them loud and clear…the concept is the party that takes place all night long!” says vocalist Makku.

Live, WE HAVE THE MOON promise…

“Energy, fun and engagement! We believe that these are the things that most distinguish our live shows, which we do coincidentally call parties! Those who know us can really see how much we change during the concert, compared to ‘behind the scenes’. The party lyrics are fully mirrored by the brilliant and catchy sound of our arrangements. Listening to our glittering sounds, anyone can imagine situations like those we describe in our songs. We expect our listeners to be reflected in the songs and what they describe, as well as them getting closer to the band’s feeling.”

“Greber offer up their latest slab of crushing sludge- and doom-laden grind with their new album, Cemetery Preston. The duo consist of bassist/vocalist Marc Bourgon (ex-Fuck the Facts) and drummer/vocalist Steve Vargas (The Great Sabatini), who create an exceptionally raw and visceral sound with their unique approach.” – Exclaim!

“Greber has certainly created their own sound with Cemetery Preston. A medley of differing metal styles delivered in bitter fashion. The duo bring an level of intensity that walks a tight line between sludgy riffs, grinding drum beats & wild hardcore style vocals.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“…a ridiculously bottom-heavy racket” – Decibel Magazine

“The short version: If most “normal” grind is like a dude in a hockey mask hacking you to death with a machete, than Greber might be best described as a really pissed-off dude thumping you to death with a hammer, or maybe a 2 x 4. The edges may not be sharp, but it’s still fucking painful, y’know?” – Metal Sucks

“…the sound of two awesome dudes, one riding a bass like a surfboard, the other in a drum kit like a barrel, plunging down the steepest face of Mount Everest, sober but mad, screaming their way through the almost impassable barrier of snow, rock, trees, starving animals and unstoppable velocity.” – David Hall, Handshake Inc. via Exclaim!

“this endless onslaught of blast beats smashing against detuned chug riffs, embittered, possessed bellowing, cacophonous and melodic interludes, with occasional audio samples is accomplished by nothing more than two minds looking to do the same thing: annihilate comprehension, deconstruct the rigid state of modern extreme music and create some of the heaviest fucking music possible” – Exclaim!

“What we have here folks is a seriously brutal fucked up and loud assault on the senses with this superb split release from Greber and Hiroshima Vacation. Excellent and Highly Recommended” – The Sludgelord

“Cambridge, Ontario’s Greber exists on the low end of things with their guitar-less line-up giving them a sludgier feel during those moments they slow down to a proverbial, but not complete, crawl. Rhythmic, pulsing and noisy, their three songs are like the most convulsive soundtrack to the dirtiest sex you’ll ever have during your 20s.”- Decibel Magazine

“There is actually so much sonic space taken up with the bass, drums, enraged vocals, and other creepy aural nuances, that one couldn’t possibly imagine trying to fit in a guitar track anywhere.” – Noisography

New Album “Solipsis” Out March 1, 2018

L-R – Frank van Leeuwen – Bass, J.D. Kaye - Vocals, Merel Bechtold – Guitars, Michael van Eck – Guitars, Joey de Boer – Drums

Dutch melodic death metal band PUREST OF PAIN announce the release of their debut album “Solipsis” on March 1st, 2018 to follow their 2013 single “Momentum” and 2011 EP “Revelations In Obscurity”.

Lead by guitarist and main songwriter Merel Bechtold of DELAIN, whom also performs in much respected bands MaYaN and The Gentle Storm/Anneke van Giersbergen, the energetic quintet from Holland, which now includes DELAIN drummer Joey de Boer is a force to be reckoned with. Combining Scandanavian metal influences with groove, ambiance, tone and melody, the band has unleashed their first single “Terra Nil”.

Song Stream – “Terra Nil” – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJFzvvYOdM8

Seven years in the making, from the writing process up to the final mastering to launching a successful online crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo (raising over 18,000 Euros, thank you video here), along with increasing their funds through live performances, which saw them open for such bands as Opeth, Textures, Suicide Silence, Unearth and Attack Attack! plus an unforgettable slot at Wacken in 2014. “Solipsis” is 14 tracks of brutality blended with groove and emotion produced by Merel Bechtold with recording done at Mantis Audio Studio (Delain) and mastering by Jens Jorgen (Opeth, Arch Enemy, Soilwork).

Guitarist Merel Bechtold comments:

“‘Solipsis’ is a guitar oriented record, is has been recorded as organic as possible: partly at home, partly at Mantis Audio Studio. The song ‘E.M.D.R.’ is written by fellow guitarist Michael van Eck. All the other songs were summoned by myself. The lyrics are written by vocalist J.D. Kaye. And even though the music isat times technical and challenging, it’s undeniably driven by relentless groove, enhanced by hugely melodic passages, wonderful tone and moments of ambient clarity.”

“Solipsis” will be available on CD, Vinyl plus as a digital release and is available for pre-order here. Their single “Terra Nil” is available for download and stream on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Deezer.

The band comments:

“Overhung has always been the one band that I’ve been a part of that has always had the good fortune or ability to overcome. From our vocalist leaving the city and the country, to no support for indie rock, to people disassociating because we sing about sex, these and a hundred more obstacles can’t slow us down. We are ready to take on North America first and with the help of Test Your Metal records, the world next!”

About:
The steel seeds of hard rockin’ music find fertile ground all over the world. All races and religions embrace it. Music should become the new worldwide religion; we’d have moshing instead of wars! Good times!

The love of music is strong in India, and stronger than all in the splendidly named OVERHUNG who hail from Mumbai! The band owe their name to unique vocalist Sujit Kumar who changed Hungover to Overhung…which speaks even more volumes than their music!

OVERHUNG are making the most debauched melodic hard rock since Guns ‘n’ Roses released their classic ‘Appetite For Destruction’. With a successful debut full length ‘Moving Ahead’ under their belts set to be re-released in 2018 via Canadian label Test Your Metal Records, great live shows, and a planned follow up single entitled ‘King of Dreams’, OVERHUNG are ready to offer the world killer sounds coming straight outta India!

Influenced by Poison, AC/DC, Motley Crue, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin , guitarist Howard Pereira describes their sound as “loud, fun, sex, rum…rock ‘n’ roll! We are about devolution not evolution! We are still doing late 80s and 90s rock!”

Pereira explains the very reason for OVERHUNG’s creation was when the members jammed “the energy was infectious and all of us wanted to write more kick-ass music with together…We hope that people are open to hearing our music in 2017. The band’s music is largely arena rock sounding, so at live gigs people just lose it and have a blast!”

You have to see OVERHUNG play because they have “insane live energy! Quite frankly there is no one like Sujit Kumar when it comes to live performances. He is shameless and you can’t take your eyes off him. His antics include table dancing, interacting with women (and men too sometimes), climbing everything in sight from light poles to bartops! It is engaging for the audiences. Also we deliver tight and fun glam-rockish sets that go down well!”

“Overhung make no bones that their songs are about sex.” – The Times of India

“Mumbai-based Glam rock band Overhung want to talk about sex. They say that is the only topic no one wants to talk about.” – The Hindu

“Overhung and lovin’ it! They are more than just a band, they’re a bunch of ‘brothers’ who make music and ‘shake the room’, with their sound and antics.” – The Goan

“The first hard rock band I’ve ever listened to from India and I must admit these guys are really pretty good.” – Caroline Bryne, MRU Music Reviews Unsigned

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 25, 2018

For fans of Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth, Black Label Society

Australia’s GREYSTONE CANYON Posts Album Teaser For Debut “While The Wheels Still Turn”

Capture The Wild West In Debut Album “While The Wheels Still Turn”

Out  March 9th via Rockshots Records

ROCKSHOTS RECORDS is thrilled to announce the signing of Australia’s GREYSTONE CANYON for their upcoming debut album “While The Wheels Still Turn”. The album is inspired by the band’s love for old western cowboy films and the images these films conjure, the vast plains, endless horizons and the freedom of the Wild West.

GREYSTONE CANYON will release the debut album on March 9, 2018, in Europe, U.S.A and Canada through ROCKSHOTS RECORDS and on Hellfire Records in Australia on March 12, 2018.

“While The Wheels Still Turn” was tracked at the splendidly named Goatsound Studios in Melbourne, Australia, and then mixed in Canada, making ‘the album a real rock n’ roll frequent flyer. Mixing duties were undertaken by none other than Grammy nominated producer and legend Glen Robinson, who had engineered, mixed and produced equally legendary acts like Annihilator, Queensryche and Voivod

Inspired by legends like Led Zeppelin, Alice Cooper, Ozzy Osbourne, Megadeth and King Diamond, “While The Wheels Still Turn” is an album that could not only sit well beside the works of those legends, but with the current tsunami of all things 70s and 80s inspired, GREYSTONE CANYON are in the right place at the right time. We are travelling back to the future and they are the soundtrack!

As vocalist/guitarist Darren Cherry proudly states.

“We really wanted to make an album similar to old Ozzy Osbourne record where songs like ‘I don’t know’ and ‘Goodbye To Romance’ can sit comfortably. This is music from the heart and soul!”

To get a glimpse of that soundtrack to come, GREYSTONE CANYON have posted an album teaser for fans to hear.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 25, 2018

For fans of Animals As Leaders, Scale The Summit, Protest the Hero, Periphery, Intervals

Instrumental Prog Metal THE DEAD CENTURIES Premiere Debut Album “Race Against Time” via Prog-Sphere

“Race Against Time” Out Jan 26th, 2018

Visionary and highly influential writer Michael Moorcock, who worked with the bands Hawkwind and Blue Oyster Cult, memorably stated that ‘it is the business of the future to be dangerous’.

Ottawa three-piece THE DEAD CENTURIES are both futuristic and dangerous…which is as it should be. Influenced by Protest The Hero, Periphery, Paul Gilbert, Sithu Aye and Intervals, THE DEAD CENTURIES can easily hold their heads up in such exalted company.

Composing and performing technically precise instrumental progressive metal, THE DEAD CENTURIES are rich in virtuosity, melody, compositional skills, and most importantly…they create superb music to listen to. This isn’t the sound of three musicians showing off their undoubted skills, rather they are serving their songs above all else, with every fibre of their beings, every neuron firing in their minds, every tendon in their bodies. In a sense it is as if the three musicians that make up THE DEAD CENTURIES have become one mind in their own music.

Set to unleash their debut album “Race Against Time” this week on Friday, January 26th, 2018, the full length features ten tracks of melodic, high energy and refreshing material. Full of hook and sinker tracks, shining guitar riffs and overall escapades through their instrumental progressive metal has to offer.

Partnering up with Prog-Sphere.com, THE DEAD CENTURIES are excited to premiere the full album stream for “Race Against Time”.

Before you hear it at the link below, here’s what guitarist Adam Tremblett comments.

“Our new album “Race Against Time” is a collection of songs that really summarizes the band’s sound. The main goal of this release is to give listeners an interesting, diverse, and exciting experience. We are excited to finally have these songs released for the world to hear, and we hope you enjoy listening to these songs as much as we enjoyed writing and recording them.”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 25, 2018

PureGrainAudio.com Features ELECTRIC WIZARD In Volume #2 of Exclusive Horror Series “Music Hell”

Written By Author Michael Aronovitz & Illustrated By Nick McIvor

Canadian-based music authority PUREGRAINAUDIO.COM is proud to present Volume #2 “The Hiss of The Eliminator” featuring ELECTRIC WIZARD as part of their new online horror series entitled “Music Hell”.  In this second story from author Michael Aronovitz and illustrator Nick McIvor, ELECTRIC WIZARD find themselves in a deadly game with “The Eliminator”.

“Music Hell” is advised to be read with extreme caution. For every action there is a reaction, and because music has reached such an unprecedented level of artistry, the evil in the belly of the world has crept to the surface. PureGrainAudio is warning fans, that the stories may contain horrific imagery and extreme violence.

The full story can be read at https://goo.gl/dBZKq8

Volume #1 featuring TRIVIUM, can be read at https://goo.gl/WGZUmb

About Music Hell:

Presented by PureGrainaudio.com, each month, a different super-star band will be cursed, haunted, stalked, and terrorized by vicious serial killers, demented miscreants, blood-sucking zombies, and hideous demon-spirits as part of Music Hell‘s 13 planned horror-themed short stories by published author Michael Aronovitz and illustrator Nick McIvor. Each story will focus on one band and their most current release.

About The Author:

Michael Aronovitz is a published author of (very) dark horror fiction. His first novel, Alice Walks, is available in newly released E-book form through Cemetery Dance Publications: http://tinyurl.com/y9fkxjhv. He has published two other terrifying novels (The Witch of the Wood and Phantom Effect) and two frightening collections (Seven Deadly Pleasures and The Voices in Our Heads), as well as writing a number of in-depth rock reviews for Hellnotes, Goblet of Shock, Metal Heads Forever, and Heavy Music Headquarters. In 2014 he had a short story featured in the renowned anthology Searchers After Horror, and has upcoming fiction coming in Ghostlight, Nemesis, and Apostles of the Weird. In 2011, his story “How Bria Died” was featured in The Year’s Best Dark Fantasy and Horror, Prime Books. Michael is a college professor of English and lives in Pennsylvania.

About The Illustrator:

Nick McIvor is an illustrator and comic creator from Australia. He studied Animation at the Queensland college of art, and has been working as a freelance artist ever since. His favourite things to draw are probably cats and goblins, and his preferred colour to design with is probably all of them. He moved to Canada to pursue comics, and to pursue little adventure, and he hasn’t been disappointed yet. You can often see him at one of Toronto’s many underground comic festivals – he’ll be the Australian one, you can’t miss him. Nick is excited to be working with Pure Grain Audio for this project, and he hopes to bring the fire.

0 NEWS: Ottawa’s TRIGON Posts New Single “Rock It”

(contact info below)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – January 24, 2018

For Fans of Volbeat, Offspring, Metallica, Greenday, Misfits

Ottawa’s TRIGON Posts New Single “Rock It”

Inspired by artists as diverse as Volbeat, Crobot, David Wilcox, System of A Down, Nirvana, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Slayer, yet forging their own unique sound, Ottawa, ON’s TRIGON have a new single to share with fans to follow last year’s debut album “Fed Up”. The new single entitled “Rock It” is hooky rock n’ roll to kick off 2018. The track was mixed and mastered by Glen Robinson (Gwar, Voivod).

The band comments:

“When we first began, we were a cover band and we always loved to take old songs and twist them up making them more into a rock version. We tried doing that with ‘I’m So Excited’ by The Pointer Sisters but turned out to be a challenge. After playing around with it over a couple of jam sessions, it really didn’t get us ‘Excited’, but it did inspire us to write a new song ‘Rock It’. So Gus our amazing guitarist came up with this crazy riff like he always does and then everything came into play. Oh yeah!”

Listen to “Rock It” at the following link:

TRIGON is currently working on their next sophomore album due out in 2018. Their debut album “Fed Up” is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Bandcamp and all major online retailers.

Their new single “Rock It” is available on iTunes, Spotify.

EPK – http://wp.me/pciNW-9weBIO:

There is something special and magical about the three-piece band (often called a power trio, and there is indeed, special power in three!). You need only think of such bands as Venom, Cream, Whiplash, Taste, Motorhead, Bathory and Celtic Frost for proof. For in a power trio there is a purity of essence, the band’s vision honed to razor-like intensity.

TRIGON are inspired by artists as diverse as Volbeat, Crobot, David Wilcox, System of a Down, Nirvana, Megadeth, Black Sabbath and Slayer, yet already they have forged their own unique sound.

Bassist and vocalist Emanuel Viau explains the origin of TRIGON’s unique name. ‘We wanted something catchy that would be easy to remember. It had to represent the number 3 because we are a three-piece band. So to us, Trigon means 3 in 1 like a triangle and that explains our logo; the Trigon beast with 6 eyes.’

Bassist and vocalist Emanuel Viau sums up TRIGON’s sound as “Rock and roll ain’t dead. Lemmy would be proud!”

He says that their upcoming album ‘Fed UP’ is about ‘living in the millennium, obstacles, day-to-day challenges, high and low points of life, religion, the corrupt world we live in, and being brainwashed by our leaders.’

Emanuel says the album will grow on fans with its ‘crafty riffs, good lyrics and good beats. We wanted to make them feel like they are the ones who wrote the songs!’

Emanuel sums up TRIGON’s intentions. ‘Fans can expect a lot more out of Trigon. We are just getting started. The dedication to our fans is always there…they are number 1 to us! We are a positive band hoping to reach out to people and give them songs they can relate to. At our live shows they can expect maximum energy and excitement. We aim to make the people at the back come to the front!’

TRIGON’s debut album ‘Fed Up’ was released on March 24, 2017 and available on iTunes, Spotify, Bandcamp and all major online retailers.

“any fan of hard rock or heavy metal would be proud to have this album in his/her collection. The fullness of the sound on the album makes it hard to believe that this is just a three-piece outfit…Trigon seems to have picked out the best parts of bands they like, smashed them together, and crafted songs that just work on every level.” – Yell! Mag

“a vaguely punk rock, slightly angsty and at times beautifully chaotic rock album that will fit into virtually any collection.” – Canadian Beats

“There is a chaotic and personal magic on this album that moves your mind, body and soul from places of safety to places of danger in an instant. I’d liken it to being at a family BBQ just before WW3 breaks out -it’s all fun and games and Armageddon….“Fed Up” is a brilliant Rock album that exquisitely produced and bloody well executed. It’ll fit in with any and all Metal collections. Get yours now!” – 925 Rebellion

“The Great White North is known for snow, Molson beer, and hockey, eh. Now we might have to add another pretty good thing, Trigon.” – National Rock Review
