“Did anyone order a soul crushing, female fronted metal band?” – Idobi Radio

“While there’s a distinct modern metal feel to Meka Nism, the key to what makes their sound more unique and engaging is the pool of influences that they draw from…they have managed to find their own style within it – one that you will have a hard time forgetting once you hear it. A band that could easily find themselves on the rise as word starts to get around.” – Dead Rhetoric

“What would happen when you lock Arch Enemy and Lacuna Coil in the same room and force them to record an album? Well, you’d probably get something like Florida residents Meka Nism.” – Merchants of Air

“They experiment with melodies, dipping their toes in and out of a pool of sounds and influences. Then, they combine these creative expressions with the most important element of their music: the message. Meka Nism doesn’t just deliver thrashing tunes; it seeks to deliver listeners from their own wars inside. ” – Shockwave Mag

“A little bit of keyboard, a thumping drum beat followed by roaring riffs leads into the blazing hot title track. A track that mixes modern metal with operatic style scope. That element comes from the incredible range on singer Ms. Meka. She can go from huge soaring melodies to heavier shouts and screams in an instant. Incredible.” – Games, Brains & A Head-Banging Life

“It’s honest, heavy and packed full of some of the most amazing elements of metal music infused with some of the most versatile, controlled and distinct vocals in metal music today.” – Yesterdaze News

“Meka Nism is a band to watch. ” – Sonic Cathedral

“Lead singer Ms. Meka is intriguing and quite compelling, both visually and with her vocal range,  and the guys in her band provide the perfect vehicle for the artistic vision that they’ve managed to create together.” – I’m Music Magazine

“Full of energy, this band never fails to strike a chord with everyone sharing the stage from the audience. Meka’s vocals are the antithesis of the ever-present smile on her face that lights up the room. This lovely woman genuinely smiles with her eyes. The entire band is simply memorizing. Meka Nism is one of those bands that must be seen live. Don’t hesitate to meet them either. All of them are engaging, genuine and make you feel like the rock star! ” – Metal Nexus

“Orlando’s metal/operatic band, MekaNism performed songs which included “From Out of Nowhere” and “Mekamorphosis,” which got the crowd hyped for their set. Ms. Meka, with her melodious sound and great enthusiasm, was so engaged and energized throughout the performance. The rest of the band was bursting with the same energy and truly put on a memorable show.” – (Live Review) Monkey Goose Magazine

What is The Odyssey Experience?

The Journey
If you’re a music lover, albums have always been a journey. You may remember digesting your first progressive rock/metal album growing up – how these albums wove their way around every friendship, every breakup, every fight, every grade in school.

The Odyssey Experience enhances the journey of the classic album by taking you through the concept of the album, elevating the discussion between artist and listener.

The Quality
Are you tired of being herded around from iTunes to Spotify to Bandcamp? Do you have 8 different logins just to listen to the artists you like? Do you wish that artists would stop making things so scrambled and just let you listen YOUR way?

The Odyssey Experience will be delivered to you day by day through direct download and free stream. You can get these songs in 3 different formats including ultra-high quality WAV. Own it or stream it without logging in!

The Extras
5 songs, 5 videos, and 12 months of hard work and dedication by only 2 guys.

That’s what went into this EP. We thought it would be a shame to let that all go to waste. On the Odyssey Experience, you’ll have access to behind-the-scenes content, detailed explanations, bonus tracks, and limited VIP experiences that can’t be found anywhere else!

About the duo:

Grant, who plays guitar, bass and synth for the band started his music career 8 ½ years ago at the age of 12, sitting in his basement watching the movie Rock Prophecies. This movie was about legendary rock photographer Robert M. Knight, finding and transforming a young, unknown guitarist from a small town into a worldwide success. Inspired and motivated, Grant spent the next few years honing his guitar skills, writing music, and later learning the business side by attending college for business marketing. At age 20, Grant was invited into the Brotherhood of the Guitar, by founder Robert M. Knight, leading to endorsements with Ernie Ball Music Man and JH Audio.

While Grant was performing with another group at a local battle of the bands, he came across a mesmerizing singer by the name of Kenny Parry (vocalist, drummer and synth for Jupiter Hollow), who was almost performing as if he was possessed on stage, hitting notes that seemed impossible by any guy. Kenny Parry started music at the young age of 2 years old, setting up pots and pans like a drum set and banging away. This led to an obsession with music, and a discovery of his unique talent. In his teenage years, Kenny won himself the title “Best Drummer in Ontario” 3 years in a row. Around this time, Kenny started learning how to sing after being inspired by singers such as Maynard James Keenan, Mike Lessard, Dan Tompkins and Ian Kenny to name a few. Through years of strengthening his vocal abilities in choirs, bands and hours of dedication, Kenny has acquired an articulate vocal range, relentless endurance, and almost shocking performance through his uncontrollable stage presence.

Shortly after meeting, Grant and Kenny knew that their talents combined would create something truly unique, and Jupiter Hollow was born. Since then, the duo effortlessly created music in Kenny’s basement for months on end. The concept grew to be a two-man band, since Grant and Kenny wrote all of the music and wanted to keep it that way. The two musicians use technology to their advantage, allowing them to perform with a dominating stage presence, while captivating their audiences with their unique sonic journey.

“Without a doubt, Jupiter Hollow are elite musicians. Grant and Kenny know exactly how to captivate an audience with their music. This theory is proven through the artistic journey that is their record, Odyssey. Their music is tasteful. This is one of the few records that I have been able to sit down and listen to the entire record without skipping a single track. You might think progressive music isn’t for everyone but Jupiter Hollow, makes listening to a genre of music that can be classified as challenging to listen to, rather easy. Every song on Odyssey is an emotional journey, musically and lyrically. Let the music take you by the hand and embrace the emotion in its purest form. Listen to Jupiter Hollow. Now. There’s a reason why they’re being noticed. It’s because they love what they do and they’re good at it!” – Alex CrazyAce, Host/Executive Producer of ‘The Rush’ on VIBE105 FM – Interview can be heard here.

“Jupiter Hollow’s songs and performances on their upcoming record AHDOMN are BEASTS! It’s a true masterpiece. These 2 guys are taking the Prog world by storm.” – Jamie King, The Basement Recording (The Contortionist, Between the Buried & Me)

“The two gifted musicians ignite a real firework of creativity and that in just five songs. This masterpiece is refined by an extremely good sound. For anyone who has even a small drop of progressivity in their blood, it is a must to listen to this. The future of progressive rock / metal seems assured.” – Metalogy

“I went into this open minded but Jupiter Hollow truly shocked me with this EP. The guys have a refreshing sound, very different to what I usually listen to. Musically, it’s written really well and I can definitely tell that the duo are going places.” – Broken Arrow Magazine

“Jupiter Hollow have given the world five songs of progressive brilliance. For such a young duo hailing from Barrie, Ontario they pack a serious punch. They are great musicians and have crafted an amazing voice which touches on a range of progressive cliches but with a twist of more ambient music. Their music shows maturity beyond their age…” – The Independent Voice

“I’m very impressed by this EP on any level. Sounding, to my mind, like a cross between Rush, Zombi, and Mastodon, this is progressive metal as it should be. Grant MacKenzie and Kenny Parry, the two men that make up Jupiter Hollow, can be proud of this EP. It features strong playing, excellent song-writing, and above all, it is most uplifting, something we really need in this day and age. A band to look out for in the future.” – Hellbound

“New listeners can expect to go on a musical journey when hearing Jupiter Hollow.” – Barrie Advance

“Teen duo Jupiter Hollow deserve props for valuing virtuosity and going against the grain. Rock on!” – Power of Pop

“A young Canadian duo ready to bring fans of complex music a spacey, experimental and refreshing experience with their excellent debut EP, bursting with high-quality heaviness and progressiveness.” – The Headbanging Moose

“An adventurous duo that isn’t afraid to experiment with sound as well as influences, which range from Rush to A Perfect Circle to newer Leprous. ” – Lords of Metal

“What these two guys accomplish both live and on this five-track album is simply mind blowing. The fact that a duo can write and perform music of this quality at their age simply says the future for Jupiter Hollow could be stellar. Imagine the combination of Rush, Tool, Yes, with a live show that captures everything you could want to experience and see in a performance…I can honestly say that only a week into 2017, I have already pegged this as one of my faves of the year. To know that Odyssey will soon be followed by the full length album, Ahdomn has me salivating for more Jupiter Hollow.” – SkullsnBones

Rockshots Records To Release Italian Symphonic Power Metal MaterDea New Album “Pyaneta”

Out In Europe June 8th, North America July 6th

MaterDea is one of the most known and recognizable metal bands in Italy coming out of the pagan and celtic scene. It has been 2 years since their last release, a full length entitled “The Goddess’ Chants” and they are ready to indulge their listeners in a new fascinating and enthralling journey with “Pyaneta”.

Following the direction started with “A Rose for Egeria”, this new record is a further step forward into the melding of metal and Celtic music, in the personal style that MaterDea’s fans will acknowledge and love once more. It is a powerful symphony where all the instruments and the voices join the sounds of nature, painting new grandiose landscapes enriched by colors and sophisticated arrangements. The melodies reveal themselves along with the sumptuous guitar riffs, a powerful rhythmic session and the twist of strings and orchestration, allowing the listener to be carried away in a dimension full of energy, beauty and hope by these magical tales.

The band describes “Pyaneta”:

“In this new album the stories are inspired by the deep interconnection that exists between every living thing and the largest sentient organism that hosts us, our planet Earth. It is an exhortation to the awareness of the environmental danger, a cry of hope for its future and a message of love for life in its gorgeous wholeness.”

MaterDea goes to great lengths to ensure that their listeners can be thrust away from reality and thrown into a fantastical world full of enchantment and magic and “Pyaneta”, their fifth album promises to do just that. Citing influences such as Genesis, Jethro Tull and Led Zeppelin, the band creates a gentle yet powerful type of metal with various classical overtones. With a desire to create powerful, intense, emotional music that features pantheistic themes the 7 classically trained Italian musicians paint a rich fantasy world for their listeners. To date they have released four full lengths, “Below the Mists, Above the Brambles” (2009), “Satyricon” (2011), “A Rose for Egeria” (2014) and “The Goddess’ Chants” (2016).

“Pyaneta” is set to be released via Rockshots Records in Europe on June 8 and in North America on July 6. There is currently a crowdfund set up for fans who wish to support the album by pre ordering or donating.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – May 4, 2018

For fans of Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Manowar, Slayer

Out Now! AxMinister Streaming New EP “The Crucible of Sin”

Hailing from the frozen tundra of Ontario, heavy metal trio AxMinister have unleashed a full stream of their new EP “The Crucible of Sin” available now as of May 4th. The new EP follows singles “Visceral Speed” (2017), “AXistential Christmas” (2015), “Unborn Warriors: The Cries of Tomorrow” (2015) and full length “Betray Everything” (2015).

Warriors of metal on a holy quest, AxMinister are inspired by Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer, Iron Maiden, Manowar and can be best described with a sound that of a sped up Type O Negative.

The band comments:

“Our EP “The Crucible of Sin” sports a sense of humour. It tries to tell a… at times, nihilistic, story about love, lust, oppression, and redemption. Following every recording and show, we try to reflect on our own mistakes, and attempt to improve. We grew to understand our 90s thrash/traditional style of songwriting, and compose accordingly. This EP has that ‘90’s warm thrash sound akin to Megadeth’s Youthanasia album. We hope old and new audiences join us on a journey that is at times fictional, visual and imaginative, while other times introspective and contemplative. We like you to dance, head bang, and mosh to it.”

Listen to “The Crucible of Sin” at the following link:

“From the drop of the first note, AxMinister pull their ax from stone, brandishing it mightily and powerfully as they dish out shredding sharpened riff after sharpened riff. Thrown in to the mix are face melting solos as well as ever present charging drumming as well as very solid very infectious vocals. Each of the five tracks present within this release are woven together well to provide you with a cohesive and well rounded sound that you will have a hard time getting out of your head. With The Crucible Of Sin, AxMinister gift you with five highly addictive and highly entertaining tracks that you keep coming back to.” – Cadaver Garden

“”The Crucible of Sin” is a lyrically-strong (hard & heavy) power metal recording with strong lead vocals, great guitar solos, a slick rhythm section, and inspired songs that will make you want to wave the banner of true heavy metal for all to see!! This is honest to goodness heavy metal that has been made possible thanks to hard work & dedication of true heavy metal maniacs.” – Heavy Metal Time Machine

“You can tell that AxMinister is a band that is all about fun, especially since one of their songs is titled “Arnold Schwarzenegger” – Metal Master Kingdom

“I don’t know how I’ve never come across these guys before; they played some great traditional Heavy Metal about history and had a killer stage show to boot, with frontman Nicholas Klaus looking like an executioner and their drummer constantly changing hats/helmets/masks throughout the set.” – Five Magics Music

“[AxMinister’s] gritty pounding thrash originals should also make lots of fans on the Fourth of July, so keep them in mind!” – Sault Metal Scene

BornBroken Unleash New Lyric Video “Listen” via BeheadingTheTraitor

Hailing from Montreal, QC, BornBroken is aggressive music for critical masses. They are a band that thrives on fury at the injustices of the world we are living in and now is the right time for their righteous rage, it feeds their creative furnace!

Metal lifers; they give their music and fans 100%; their anger is authentic, yet it is not mindless anger, their intentions are for change for the good. A new world is what they wish to build, better than the old edifice that crumbles around us, a world of equality and justice for all!

Following up their well-received 2013 debut album ‘The Healing Powers of Hate’, they return in 2018 with a 40 minute freight-train on “The Years of Harsh Truths and Little Lies”. The new album features a refreshed line up that includes vocalist Pepe Peloquin (Endast), drummer Samuel Santiago (Gorod, First Fragment) along with bassist Red Voizard to join founding members and guitarists Mike Decker and Simon Sivard. The ten track assault is heavier and angrier plus even includes special guest vocals from Slaves On Dope’s Jason Rockman on “Fight”.

Decker explains:

“We felt the need to go 7 string and tune to (Drop G) for this latest batch of songs, it seemed fitting for the way the band was leaning towards. We keep the same writing style, writing what we want, when we want. First writing for ourselves and then molding into more standard song frame, so people can get the hook of the song, and make it a memorable sound to them.”

Teaming up with Beheading The Traitor, BORNBROKEN are premiering their second single and new lyric video “Listen”.

“These extreme metallers have done an amazing job of combining death and thrash…” – Yell Magazine

“Working off catchy as fuck, breakdown inflected riffs BornBroken mercilessly pound the listener to pulp. There is absolutely no doubt people leave a BornBroken show with injuries.” – Hellbound

“Marching to the sounds of brutal bass, slamming percussion, high-speed guitar solos and violently powerful vocals, the broken shall rise.” – LouderThanHell

“Many of the hooks and riffs are excellent, they absolutely destroy my speakers, and the bedroom mosh commences.” – MetalStorm

“BornBroken have resurrected the intense metallic sounds of bands the likes of A Life Once Lost, Hatebreed, Nora, and Arise And Ruin that once dominated the North American metal scene. It’s wonderful to hear a band like BornBroken bringing back what some might consider the peak sound of modern metal.”

– MusikUniverse

“Musically, BornBroken are a more solid, and extremely heavy, lot. Simon Savard and Mike Decker’s surging, Dimebag Darrell-inspired grooves hit like haymakers throughout, aided by the sort of dry, ultra-punchy production Terry Date used to achieve such brutal majesty with Pantera, Unearth, Deftones and on White Zombie’s Astro Creep: 2000. The sound here is huge – especially for a self-released effort – clear and quite pummeling.” – Metal-Rules

“BornBroken deserves broad attention. They’ve already made a very big impression in their native Montreal, both for their live performances as well as their music in general. I honestly don’t know that much about the Montreal metal scene, but I do know that it is getting bigger and more competitive. For these guys to emerge as a local favorite suggests something of their overall quality. Give this one a spin.” SeaofTranquility

“Ça me manquait d’entendre du bon groove métal et cette formation de Montréal excelle dans ce domaine. Imagine un mélange de Pantera et Lamb Of God avec une voix hardcore à la Hatebreed et ça te donne une bonne idée du style que propose BornBroken.” – Boulevard Brutal

Greek classic heavy metal thrashers SENSE OF FEAR have posted a new lyric video for their track “Torture of Mind” in support of their debut album “As The Ages Passing By…” released on April 20th via Rockshots Records.

Watch it now at the following link: https://youtu.be/AkSjWa0zYZE

Years in the making, SENSE OF FEAR‘s debut full length “As The Ages Passing By…” follows the band’s 2013 self-titled EP. Offering an old school heavy metal feel with a modern pounding anvil, each track crafted on the new album was carefully selected for a good old headbanging time along with telling a unique story. The album was recorded at Valve Studio in Thessaloniki, Greece by Stratos “Strutter” Karagiannidis (Gus G, Wardrum) with mixing and mastering done at Music Factory and Prophecy Studios in Kempten-ALLGÄU, Germany by R.D. Liapakis (Mystic Prophecy, Devil’s Train) & C. Schmid. Album artwork designed and edited by Colin Marks (Nevermore, Exodus, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Kataklysm, Jeff Loomis, Xerath, Sylosis).

The band comments:

“Each song has its own gravity to the album, and all together create SENSE OF FEAR’s presentation to the world as a band and as musicians. All the lyrics come from personal experiences and emotions. This is our way to express ourselves and fight the personal demons.”

“As The Ages Passing By…” is now available digitally and on CD via Rockshots Records online store here plus iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and all major online retailers.

About:

Taking influence from Europe’s music festival circuit, Armstrong Metal Fest is a heavy metal celebration that encourages metal heads from across Canada and the globe to mosh and camp with the backdrop of great outdoors of British Columbia’s Okanagan Valley. What started as a backyard party in 2009 with nothing but eleven local metal bands such as Terrifier, Xul and Odinfist to name a few, has grown into a a huge success admired by the Western Canadian Metal scene. 2017 was the ninth year of the festival and was its largest year for music and attendance. Previous years of the festival have seen line ups with Cattle Decapitation, Suffocation, Beyond Creation, Dayglo Abortions, Rivers of Nihil, The Zenith Passage, Anciients, Bison BC, Striker, Crimson Shadows, Holy Grail, Archspire, Cryptopsy, Unleash The Archers, Divinity, Into Eternity, Ninjaspy, Vesperia, XUL, Odinfist, Death Toll Rising, Gomorrah among many others.

What the press is saying:

“In the past, metalheads had to travel to Germany to experience the rush a big festival, such as Wacken Open Air. But local headbangers decided to bring that feeling home with Armstrong Metalfest.” – Vernon Morning Star

“Go Big or Stay at Home: Armstrong has that welcoming feeling for rock show.” – The Valley Voice

“To witness such a gathering of talent is an absolute privilege, and for that fact alone, I will certainly be returning to Armstrong Metal Fest.” – Beatroute BC

“This festival is now going to be my yearly must-go-to event and if you’re a metal head that hasn’t attended, or a curious metal voyeur, do yourself a favour and check it out, you will not regret it.” – Abort Mag

“The Armstrong Metalfest is one such event and has grown from its initial, humble beginnings seven years ago to be a regular mainstay, with its south-central BC location making for a popular summertime destination for fans and bands alike.” Decibel Mag

Named one of the out-of-town music festivals worth the trip by The Vancouver Sun

“For metalheads, this is a great vacation where groups of all sizes can enjoy their favourite musical genre in a fun, energized environment. Not to mention, the camping!” The Permanent Rain Press

The 80’s thrashers recently unleashed their new single “All In Favour” in support of their upcoming album “Saviours” due out May 25th.

Vocalist / guitarist Armin Kamal comments:

“Anyone who likes a more classic thrash sound, and longs for those days, just like we do, will dig this album. Since we are from that era, we are not trying to bring back that style of music, we are simply continuing what we know and do best! The Big Four will stand out as we have been described as a band with a bay area sound…But our influences are truly rooted in 70s and early 80s metal. Accept, Scorpions, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Judas Priest are all bands that laid the foundation and the love of metal for us!”

Listen to “All In Favour”

Making an impact on the Canadian’s 80s thrash scene, Ottawa legends INFRARED have returned to cement and carry on their own legacy, with their new album “Saviours”featuring all new music to follow their EP “No Peace”, which featured tracks all written in the 80’s and only recently heard by fans in 2016. “Saviours” features eight tracks that are thrashy, aggressive, melodic, heavy, and tight.

(Bio written by Steve Earles)

“Straight up thrash metal with the heavy and fast riffs, pounding drums, and the thumping of the bass.” – Sleaze Roxx

“After sitting down and listening to Infrared’s ‘No Peace’ over a period of days, it’s safe to say that this is a solid thrash metal album that will easily please genre purists. It’s an aggressive offering, but it doesn’t take too many risks, nor does it have to. This band is extremely talented and this album is well worth your money.” – Metal At The Gates

“At times reminiscent of old school Metallica, sometimes Megadeth, sometimes something else entirely. In short, if you dig 80’s metal you should really give this album a listen. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. I’m already looking forward to the next.” – Skull Banger

“No Peace grabs you by the balls from the first power chords of Inframental and doesn’t let up until the final note of In Search Of.” – Korea Guitar

“Overall, classic sounding, old school thrash metal from an era when thrash was still evolving, this album (No Peace) is a cracking introduction to the mid eighties thrash metal sound.” – Metal Gods TV

“For the sound and style, this is one of the top releases over the last year. The style was getting stale with many sound a-likes, now Infrared are here, so pick up your jaw and enjoy this bruiser of an album. “- Acier Doux Metal Management & Promotions Tunisia
