Montreal, QC – July 16, 2025

Quebec’s UNPUNISHED Ignites The Mosh Pit w/ New Single Alex Leblanc (ex-Fracturus, ex-Neuraxis, ex-Mass Murder Messiah)

Sophomore EP “Echoes of History” Out Sept 2025

Unpunished, one of Quebec’s fiercest metalcore exports, have officially announced their second EP “Echoes of History” set to be unleashed on September 5th, 2025. A blistering five-track journey through despair, defiance, and destruction, this EP from the ferocious five-piece is ready to ignite mosh pits around the globe.

Originally formed as tribute act Tidal Wave, performing songs by Trivium and Parkway Drive, the band reinvented itself during the COVID pandemic, writing original music that blends metalcore roots with melodeath and deathcore elements. Their sound is melodic, intense, diverse, energetic, and aggressive.

“Echoes of History took us over two years to write, and each of us faced major personal challenges during that time. Sorting through dozens of demos was tough; we all have different musical tastes, which makes it hard to agree, but also gives us our unique sound,”
adds the band.

Rather than follow a formula, Unpunished built each song with its own emotional journey, combining the brutality of modern death metal with the melody and groove of classic metalcore. The EP was also produced by drummer Justin Lefebvre. From its guitar tones to vocal layering, every detail reflects hours of obsession and refinement, reflecting the band’s obsession with perfection.

“We want every track to hit differently. From anxiety and despair to rage and revolt, this EP is all about movement and mood,” says the band.

Their first glimpse from their sophomore EP “Burn the Traitors” features guest vocals from Alex Leblanc (ex-Fracturus, ex-Neuraxis, ex-Mass Murder Messiah) and is the band’s most brutal song ever.

The band comments:

“It’s much more melodic death metal than metalcore, as there are no clean vocals. We wrote this as a relentless track with little place to breathe. The chorus is melodic and catchy, but without the use of clean lyrics. The solo is the slowest section of the song, as a way to catch our breath before the breakdown and final stretch of intensity. Lyrically, the theme is centered around vengeance, inflicting pain on those who betrayed, abused, and inflicted pain on their people. Remastered from its initial 2023 release, Burn the Traitors ends the EP with ferocity and leaves no one indifferent.”

“Le groupe de metalcore qui contient des sonorités de deathcore et death metal, Unpunished, a dévoilé une couleur plus agressive avec son nouvel extrait ¨Burn The Traitors¨, titre qui est collaboré au niveau vocal par Alex Leblanc de Fracturus (Ancien Mass Murder Messiah / Neuraxis).” – Grizzly Media

“It’s all this musical baggage that Alex Leblanc (Fracturus, ex-Mass Murder Messiah, ex-Neuraxis) brings to this new song UNPUNISHED. As a collaborator, of course, but he allows us to give another dimension to their sound which leans more towards melodic death this time. The intensity of the song growl from Jean-Christophe Magnan takes up much more space and gives new weapons to UNPUNISHED. At times we feel like we have a mix between Amon Amarth, Soilwork and Killswitch Engage. To discover!” – Metal Universe (2023 – Burn the Traitors – single)

“Unpunished comes to us with an EP that will please fans of metalcore from the good years combined with the more modern melodic side. The vocal playing between clear and « growl » is effective, especially on the title track « Shadows And Dust ». The guitar riffs are eye-catching and that’s one of the things that introduced me to metalcore in the mid-2000s, and we’re well served with this EP. They knew how to bring their personal touch to their influences, and that is what makes « Shadows And Dust» so effective.” – Metal Universe (2022 – Shadows and Dust EP)

0 Rockshots Records – Italian Folk Metal Balt Hüttar Leads The Charge With New Video For Title Track “Tanzerloch” From New Album Out Sept 2025

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 16, 2025

Italian Folk Metal Balt Hüttar Leads The Charge With New Video For Title Track “Tanzerloch” From New Album Out Sept 2025

“Tanzerloch” marks the long-awaited return of Balt Hüttar, folk metal guardians of the ancient Cimbrian heritage from the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni (Italy). As the first single and title track of their upcoming album (due out September 12th), “Tanzerloch” offers a dramatic entry point into a record that blends myth, memory, and metal with bold sonic vision.

Watch the official music video now:
https://youtu.be/da6gn1NY6g4

With this new track, Balt Hüttar reaffirms their distinctive identity—one rooted in the rediscovery and celebration of the endangered Cimbrian language and culture, interwoven with the energy and force of modern folk metal. Inspired by a local legend from the Roana area, “Tanzerloch” tells the story of a man who disappears into a mysterious sinkhole during a witches’ sabbath, encountering a world of spirits, shadows, and ancient forces. Sung in Italian and Cimbro – a rare medieval Germanic language still spoken in some mountain communities of Northern Italy – the lyrics evoke both the mysticism of the tale and the tension between nature and the supernatural.

Musically, “Tanzerloch” is one of the band’s most ambitious and immersive pieces to date. Its seven-minute runtime unfolds in dynamic movements, opening with somber melodic lines and building toward a powerful climax filled with layered instrumentation and ritualistic cadence. The arrangement includes flutes, tagelharpa, accordion, Irish bouzouki, and bodhrán, seamlessly blending with distorted guitars, tribal drums, and the dual vocal approach that alternates between storytelling clarity and feral intensity. The track conjures a trance-like state that mirrors the mythical dance within the narrative, transporting the listener into a liminal space between reality and folklore.

The song was composed by all five members of the band, reflecting the group’s multifaceted musical background, and the lyrics have been drawn directly from oral Cimbrian traditions that have survived centuries of cultural erosion.

The upcoming full-length album “Tanzerloch” will further explore the myths, historical traumas, and cultural identity of the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni through eleven tracks that blend metal’s aggression with poetic reflection and folk memory. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Christian Zecchin—who also shares artistic direction with the band—the album is visually enriched by the illustrations of Fabio Porfidia.

Balt Hüttar have long stood out for their strong conceptual approach and live intensity, sharing the stage with bands such as Elvenking, Folkstone, Rotting Christ, Skyclad, and Waylander. With “Tanzerloch”, they take a bold step forward, offering a haunting and deeply rooted vision of folk metal where myth, language, and sound converge in a ritual of memory and resistance.

Recommended for fans of Korpiklaani, Eluveitie, and Folkstone, Balt Hüttar’s music is more than just entertainment—it’s cultural preservation through distortion, rhythm, and ancestral echoes.

“The Warrior Order” Out July 17th, 2025

A year after unleashing their fourth studio album, “Imprisoned Souls,” in July 2024, Eternal Drak, formerly from Colombia and now residing in Quebec City, Canada, returns with their next offering, “The Warrior Order”, a five-track record that includes the band’s rendition of Metallica’s “Leper Messiah,”.

Set to be available on digital platforms on July 17th, the blackened thrash band has teamed up with Bravewords for its full stream premiere. Listen HERE.

“The Warrior Order” serves as a heartfelt homage to the band’s journey, a way to honour the memories they’ve created and express their immense gratitude to the fans who have stood by them through the years. By revisiting and reimagining these older tracks from their 2002 debut, “La Resurreccion De La Orden Guerrera”, the now-formed trio aims to rekindle the connection with their long-time listeners while simultaneously inviting new fans to discover and embrace our unique sound. They hope to bridge the past and the future.

Fans can expect the blending of raw, nostalgic vibes of classic metal with the refined production and innovation of contemporary music. By doing so, the EP seeks to evoke powerful memories and untold stories from the past while offering a renewed, enriched auditory experience that resonates with both long-time metal enthusiasts and newer audiences.

“This EP bridges two distinct eras in the journey of Eternal Drak: the energetic creativity of the 1990s and the refined artistry of the present day. It represents a homage to the band’s origins, where young minds passionately crafted what is now revered as old-school metal. These early works have been revisited and revitalized, bringing their raw spirit into the modern soundscape with enhanced production quality that respects the authenticity of the era while ensuring it resonates with contemporary audiences. Through meticulously re-recording the four original tracks, Eternal Drak breathes new life into their debut, preserving the integrity of black thrash metal while making it accessible to a new generation of listeners. To complement this effort, the album includes a cover of one of the most iconic and influential bands in metal history, serving as both a tribute and a testament to the enduring inspiration these legends have provided. This project encapsulates the band’s unwavering dedication to their craft, blending nostalgia with innovation to create a sound that is timeless yet refreshingly current,” adds band founder Andres Martinez, “Drakar” (Vocal/Guitar).

The lyrics on “The Warrior Order” are drawn from Eternal Drak‘s inspiration from a narrative crafted during the band’s early years, which delves into the tale of Lucifer’s exile to the underworld. The story portrays how his influence pervaded humanity, shaping beliefs, behaviors, and aspirations in profound ways. It explores the impact of his legacy on Earth, touching on themes of power, temptation, and rebellion. Furthermore, the narrative captures Lucifer’s relentless quest to find pathways back into the mortal realm, ultimately aiming to reclaim dominion and challenge the celestial forces that banished him. This intricate and evocative storyline serves as the foundation for much of the band’s lyrical content, blending mythological depth with existential reflection to resonate powerfully with listeners.

Recommended for fans of Venom, Celtic Frost, Metallica, and Sepultura, “The Warrior Order” will be available on July 17th, 2025, at the following links:

“A fine collection from the masters of ancient evil” – Metal Noise (The Warrior Order – 2025)

“”Drak Metal” is an excellent album, a deserving addition to any metalhead’s collection. With a few specific focuses here and there, the combination of Black and Thrash and Groove metals is done with near perfect balance, so there should be a wide appeal. ” – Metal Temple (2024 – Imprisoned Souls)

“the album comes with a sharp and grim expression set to an appropriately dark mood and mode, and in terms of mood and atmosphere this album did remind me ever so slightly of Celtic Frost, even if the music itself is rather different. That being said, I would imagine that quite a few thrash metal fans that also enjoy a little bit extreme metal as well as a band like aforementioned Celtic Frost would feel right at home with the landscapes explored on this production.” – The Viking in the Wilderness (2024 – Imprisoned Souls)

“‘Drak Metal’ is actually very enjoyable… it has a supreme raw quality to it which gives the album a sense honest integrity that just means that the listener cannot get enough of it, that passion is infectious and is more than enough to say, more of the same guys… more of the same.” – Metal Digest (2021 – Drak Metal)

technical death metal outfit Harvested showcases their instrumental prowess with a band play-through video for “Synaptic Confusion”, ahead of their August 1st album release “Dysthymia”. The performance video highlights the intricate musicianship that defines the band’s approach to extreme metal. They comment on the track:

“This is one of our groovier tracks that also really focuses on melody. This one grabs onto you from the beginning till the end. This track describes someone who can’t tell the difference between a dream and reality. Our amalgamation of styles and influences can be heard in this album, and we can’t wait to present it to the world, considering the 2022 EP did so well, and it was just our debut.”

“Synaptic Confusion” ushers in the band’s evolution, featuring the complex drumwork of Jacob Collins, whose ‘old-school death metal feel with a modern touch’ provides intricate yet aggressive grooves that anchor the composition. Guitarist Mitchi Dimitriadis delivers the kind of technical riffing that draws comparisons to modern technical death metal innovators while maintaining the raw aggression of classic death metal. The interplay between Eric Forget’s bass work and the overall rhythmic foundation demonstrates why the band takes pride in ‘being tight and showcasing our musical capabilities’.

The play-through format of the video allows viewers to witness the band’s technical execution firsthand, reinforcing their reputation for seamless integration of multiple death metal subgenres. From technical death metal complexity to brutal death metal aggression and old-school death metal foundation, “Synaptic Confusion” encapsulates the diverse influences that make “Dysthymia” such a compelling release. It is recommended for fans of Dying Fetus, Cattle Decapitation, and Decapitated.

“Canadian death metal band Harvested announce their new album Dysthymia, out August 1. The record will be their first release since their 2022 demo and blends technical, brutal and old-school death metal into a sound all their own.” – Decibel Magazine

“The Ottawa, Canada-based death metal band’s full-length demo of 2025 does the job. As evidenced by the cover artwork and title – Dysthymia refers to a persistent depression – the theme here is mental illness. Songs like Repressed Neurosis, Unending Madness and Synaptic Confusion tell the tale. One thing remains steadfast: the band’s sound comes across as Cannibal Corpse meets Cryptopsy meets Suffocation. The lyrics mention “human waste” at one point. The aforementioned Synaptic Confusion is a highlight with a gigantic chord and a loud bass. Gathered And Deluded is another good one. It has nifty speed riffing. Designed Dilemma delivers a delicious solo. This is meat and potatoes death metal that is tight and accomplished… this is the type of release death metal fans would cherish.” – Metallian.com

Press from 2022 Self-Titled EP:

MetalSucks – 10 Modern Canadian Death Metal Bands – “Ottawa’s Harvested present mental illness and the sometimes-deplorable actions resulting from it with their debut EP, Harvested. Harvested describe themselves as a modern death metal band with ‘90s and early ‘2000s influences, though what you’ll notice when listening is that Harvested are, probably due to the members’ prior history in the scene, skilled songwriters who don’t sacrifice catchiness for brutality. Songs like “Bludgeoned” skip the pleasantries and grab you by the nuts from the first second, though the torturous massage that follows is one you’ll be coming back to.” – MetalSucks

#11 – Harvested – Top 20 – August 2022 Loud Charts (Earshot)

#13 – Harvested – Top 20 – June 2022 Loud Charts (Earshot)

“From the first notes of first track ‘Apathetic’ you realize that these men are a serious bet to get a place in the death metal scene, with solid riffs and powerful rhythmic base, also melodic but not soft solo… I like this EP very much, it has all parts you need to listen to death metal: brutality, technical, good execution, guttural, screams, and growls, blast beats, double bass drums parts, virtuous parts and most important, good songs, it’s a sample of how to make everything fit correctly.” 4.5/5 – Brutalism

“There are very few things that are more exciting within the world of music than a good debut. A solid start for a band is something that should get every fan of the style of music the group plays jacked for what could hopefully be a long and fruitful career. Proficient debuts give you something to jam out to in the present but also hope for the future. Take my word for it, the self-titled debut EP from Ottawa-based Harvested (out May 7) is just that type of invigorating release.” – Metal Plague

“Thrashing guitars, blasting drums, and intense, chesty vocals start and end each track. Recording quality and production is good, allowing each of the instruments to cut through the mix… there is a tremendous amount of potential in this band, and I’d absolutely love to hear more from them. I certainly hope that in the coming years, the pace doesn’t slow or abate, as this EP ought to be on any tech-death fan’s radar for mid-2022.” – Metal Epidemic

“Each one of these cuts is something of a short, sharp shock at around the 210 second mark, while other bands could trim some fat and loose a chorus and verse, Harvested go straight for the jugular live and direct, leaving you wanting that extra chorus and verse which is testament to how good their debut really is. A clean and crisp high quality recording, if we were wine drinkers we would say it goes down like a glass of Chenin Blanc but chances are that if you had a glass in your hand, it would be smashed on the floor in your rush to get to the pit for this. ” – Metal Noise

“From the way closer ‘Bereavement’ comes to a thunderous close, you can just FEEL the energy of what is still to come. ‘Harvested’ is a good start, but I know this band have more in them and I look forward to what comes next. But if you need your head caved in for sixteen and a half minutes, Harvested can sort you right out.” – The Killchain Blog

“For a record that’s only fifteen minutes, the tracks on Harvested’s self-titled waste no time in establishing their barbarous quality. Among the style of tech, groove and dissonance, Harvested definitely went for the grooves! The members definitely know their roots and aren’t afraid to pay homage to them. The production quality has an old-school touch to it, which adds a raw vicious quality to the overall soundscape the band has painted. The abominable monstrosity that takes birth, mixed in with serious topics of Mental Illness accounts for a remorseless experience. While this might just be the starting point for Harvested, their self-titled EP establishes their grounds in the extreme realm of metal – all we can do now is wait and watch for what Harvested has to offer next! ” – Metal Genesis

“Five tracks in all with not a single entry which disappoints those who wish for their audio to incite movement. With quality like this on offer scouts should be scrambling over themselves in hopes to represent. I’m expecting future releases to propel the act to the lips of an excitable many.” – Cult Metal Flix

“Non-stop heaviness from start to finish. Every song has a different experience yet they all have memorable and catchy riffs that engage the listener” – Eric Morotti (Drummer of Suffocation)

With elements of mathcore, prog, and post-hardcore, Tangents take you on a brutally honest journey with nothing to hide during an emotional and heavy 10 minutes on their latest EP’s three tracks. The band’s goal is to keep the listener on their toes, along with themselves as musicians. Keeping things fresh and ever evolving.

“For this EP, we decided on the 3 songs simply to capture that specific moment in time. I feel that there’s always room for growth, so we constantly keep evolving, we’re stoked and proud to release Molt. With our most focused effort, we present to fans a multitude of experiences in a compact timeframe. This offering allowed us to open and embrace challenges and overcome the obstacles that come with growth,” adds guitarist Will Tennant.

Taking pride that each member of the band is a multi-instrumentalist, Tangents are a bare bones heavy band, and at the end of the day, they get up there and rock out live to showcase very visceral songs. It’s a roller coaster of emotions throughout each track.

“if you like bands like Dillenger Escape Plan and Mr. Bungle, these guys could be your next favourite… their new EP Molt is out now, and it only takes 10 and a half minutes to eat through some precise and meaty math-metal riffs!” – Drag The Waters – CKDU 881.FM (Halifax, NS)

“There is a playful spirit to these songs too, even if there is a bit of a grunge undercurrent to these escapades, and that spirit comes mainly due to the vocals and some of the melody lines explored in general. Without ever managing to pinpoint the exact details that brings this association, I keep thinking about Mike Patton and Faith No More when listening to this production. If you can imagine a Mike Patton era Faith No More creating bombastic and dramatic metal with a bit of a grunge undercurrent, then that may perhaps be a little bit of an indication about the type of music you will find on this EP. And if that notion strikes you as an intriguing one, chances are good for you to find this EP to be a rewarding one I’d suspect.” – The Viking in the Wilderness

“I’ve blasted this EP time and time again since it dropped and found myself entranced by the instrumentation. It’s clear that Tangents are putting their own spin on this genre, melding their progressive experimentation with the accessible mores of hardcore in way that sounds familiar yet unique at the same time. If this is how they sound now I look forward to hearing more from them, perhaps a full length album if we’re lucky.” – Where Strides The Behemoth

Montreal, QC – July 14, 2025

Finnish Prog DARKNESS IS MY CANVAS New Single “Ink In The Water” Off New Album “The End Of Times” Out Aug 2025

With “Ink In The Water”, Finnish alternative/progressive rock band Darkness Is My Canvas showcase their most instinctive and unpredictable side. The track is the latest single taken from their upcoming debut full-length “The End Of Times”, due out August 1st, 2025 via Rockshots Records.

Originally written in a matter of minutes during a spontaneous studio session, “Ink In The Water” captures the band’s no-rules approach to songwriting. “We just felt like doing something fast and upbeat,” the band recalls. “The lyrics were literally transcribed from Pete’s first take on the demo. When we listened back, we knew it had something special.”

A bold dive into post-punk and pop-punk territories, the song stays true to the band’s emotional and melodic core while introducing a refreshing twist. Short but impactful, “Ink In The Water” reflects the band’s ongoing refusal to stick to a single genre. “If a song demands a certain approach, we go for it without hesitation. Genre doesn’t matter—we just serve the song”.

Like other tracks on “The End Of Times,” the single balances spontaneity with depth. Its tight structure, punchy rhythm, and unapologetic tone reveal a new side of the band’s sonic identity—one that is vibrant, immediate, and still unmistakably Darkness Is My Canvas.

“The End Of Times” is the debut full-length album from Finnish band Darkness Is My Canvas — a bold and emotional journey through melody, introspection, and modern rock expression. Blending progressive elements, cinematic atmospheres, and sharp alternative energy, the album explores the collapse and rebirth of meaning in a chaotic world. With intricate arrangements, thought-provoking lyrics, and powerful hooks, “The End Of Times” is a record that invites repeated listens, each time revealing new layers and deeper resonance.

“Darkness Is My Canvas has a ton of catchy tracks on this, their debut album. White Noise is an excellent first offering and is the kind of record that makes you want more from them as soon as you can get it. I look forward to hearing more from this band in the future.” – Metal Zenith

“In terms of prog-oriented albums, ‘White Noise’ is often chunkier than the most melodic Opeth, but always more accessible than their black metal infused earlier outings. It’s got more of an interest in old fashioned rock than ninety percent of the riff heavy Dream Theater wannabes that have flooded the market over the years but occasionally is happy to share as much of a heavy edge, and from a metal viewpoint, the album’s weighty musical canvas reaches further than most.” – Real Gone Rocks

VISITANT Continues Their Haunting Journey New Video “Starless”

Debut Album “Rubidium” Out Aug 2025 via Exitus Stratagem Records

Blackened death metal collective Visitant returns with their second single “Starless”, from their upcoming debut album “Rubidium” out on August 22nd, via Exitus Stratagem Records. A technical odyssey that further explores the band’s signature blend of aggressive brutality and ethereal beauty, “Starless” follows the successful release of the debut single “Fodder”. Deepening the immersive experience that has already captivated fans of extreme metal. The band comments on “Starless”:

“Probably the heaviest and darkest track on the album. We chose this as a single for that reason. The intro feels beautiful yet morose, and then it’s just gritty and powerful the whole way through. Definitely a favorite among my bandmates. There is so much restless spirit in this song.”

Lyrically, the single is about self-preservation and protection, in a way. It embraces dark femininity and evokes the embodiment of wrath and vengeance. It speaks of grief in the angry stage. This one has a very bleak and somber atmosphere as Visitant channels pain through it.

The track showcases the collaborative strength of Visitant‘s seasoned lineup, with Taylor Tidwell’s (Unaligned) haunting guitar work serving as the foundation for Anthony Lusk-Simone’s (Abiotic, Lattermath) orchestral passages and thunderous drumming, while Kilian Duarte’s (Abiotic, Scale the Summit) monstrous bass lines drive the composition forward with unrelenting intensity. Chelsea Marrow’s (Voraath) commanding vocals tie the elements together, channeling the essence of vengeful spirits through her powerful delivery.

The single continues to build anticipation for Visitant‘s debut album “Rubidium”, which the band describes as ‘shadow work’, embodying the bleakest parts of being human, including grief, loss, betrayal, vengeance, time lost, and regret. Recommended for fans of Gojira, Opeth, and Naglfar, Visitant is preparing to bring their haunting live experience to audiences, with upcoming performances including Michigan Metal Fest in August.

“Visitant is here to utterly wreck your morning thanks to their brand new single “Fodder”, the first offering from their upcoming album Rubidium due out on August 23 via Exitus Stratagem Records. Visitant is vocalist Chelsea Marrow (Voraath, The Monster Factory, Doom Eternal, Hellblade 2, etc.), guitarist Taylor Tidwell, drummer Anthony Lusk-Simone (Abiotic, Lattermath & ex-Pathogenic), and bassist Kilian Duarte (Abiotic, Lattermath, Felix Martin & Scale The Summit). So a real powerhouse of a band that brings some savage energy to the metal world.” – Metal Injection

“Emerging from the shadowy fringes of the metal scene, blackened death metal outfit Visitant has unleashed their riveting debut single, “Fodder.” Released as a precursor to their eagerly anticipated first full-length album, “Rubidium,” the track invites listeners into a deeply atmospheric yet punishing sonic landscape.” – See Rock Live Magazine

“Uniting seasoned musicians from the Extreme Metal underground scene with members known for their previous works in Abiotic, Scale the Summit, Unaligned and Voraath, Blackened Death Metal quartet Visitant have spent the better part of three years crafting a debut album. The promise is of something dark, beautiful, visceral and compelling with single “Fodder” an almost ritualistic journey that weaves ethereal elements into an unrelentingly aggressive soundscape. Turning personal experiences into ghost stories for the half an hour of power that is “Rubidium” caught the attention of Exitus Stratagem Records who will distribute the affair on 29th August.” – Metal Noise

“Visitant weaves ethereal elements into a soundscape that is as haunting as it is aggressive. Lyrically and musically, the band crafts immersive dreamscapes – ritualistic and unrelenting” – DNA Entertainment

“Visitant by all accounts has an amazing lineup composing music for the project ” – Metal Purgatory

ABOUT:
Stygian Fair is a band from a small town called Umeå in the north of Sweden. The band has existed for about nine years now, and it all started when both P-O Jonsson and Emil Holmqvist decided to leave a band called ” Crave” to lay the foundations for Stygian Fair. Erik Andersson joined on bass, and Andreas Stoltz on lead vocals and guitar. This first incarnation of the band never made a big mark, recording or gig-wise… due to life’s crooked path.

In the autumn of 2016, Erik left the band, and a few weeks later, so did Andreas as well. Soon thereafter, the band gathered new momentum by welcoming Anders Hedman as the new powerhouse bass player. After a couple of auditions, Pontus Åkerlund became the new singer, and with this setting, the band recorded and launched an EP named “Into the Coven”. The band began playing live frequently at different local venues. At the end of August 2018, the band entered the studio again, and in October of the same year, came the debut “Panta Rei”. In January 202,0 came the sophomore album “Nadir” and in April 2021, “Equilibrium”.

In September 2021, Pontus Åkerlund decided to leave the band. A few weeks’ search for a new vocalist led to the return of Andreas Stoltz as lead vocalist and guitar player, after his years in Binary Creed and Hollow. In late 2022, Stygian Fair entered the studio once again to record ten new powerful songs with Stygian Fair’s trademark strong melodies. It is titled Aradia after the witch daughter of Diana, the goddess of the hunt and the moon.

Now it’s time for a new chapter with a new album due in 2025 with Rockshots Records.

HYPERSONIC Unleash Crushing New Lyric Video “YOU BASTARD” feat. Francesco Paoli (Fleshgod Apocalypse)

New Album “Kaosmogonia” Out Now! via Rockshots Records

Album Guests – Mark Jansen (Epica), Francesco Paoli & Francesco Ferrini (Fleshgod Apocalypse),
Emma Zoldan & Nils Courbaron (Sirenia), the male choir from Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania-Italy)

Italian symphonic metal band HYPERSONIC push their sound to new extremes with the release of their latest single “You Bastard”, featuring the devastating vocals of Francesco Paoli, frontman of extreme symphonic death metal titans Fleshgod Apocalypse.

Taken from the band’s acclaimed third album Kaosmogonia, “You Bastard” is one of the heaviest and most emotionally charged tracks of the record. Musically, it delivers a relentless barrage of blast beats, crushing guitars, dramatic orchestration and male choir vocals recorded by the prestigious Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania (Italy). The song dives deep into themes of rage, justice, and despair, portraying a father’s fury and anguish over the violation of his child’s innocence.

The lyrics, written by Emanuele Gangemi, carry a raw emotional intensity, mirrored by the extreme and symphonic arrangements crafted by band founder and drummer Salvo Grasso. The duet between Francesco Paoli and Eleonora Russo brings an explosive contrast between fury and fragility.

Hypersonic comment:

“This song is pure chaos and fire. We imagined a desperate and furious father speaking directly to a monster, full of pain, anger, and madness. Having Francesco on vocals was the perfect way to translate that extreme emotional charge into music.”

Hypersonic‘s musical evolution has been shaped by intensive listening, arrangement studies, and a commitment to self-awareness. Their symphonic metal draws influences from various aspects of their lives, resulting in a sound that is rich, dynamic, and wholly their own.

“Kaosmogonia” is a total musical experience deeply connected to Greek philosophy. The title, a fusion of “Kaos” and “Cosmos,” represents the dual nature of humanity—chaotic and ordered. The album explores the interplay between chaos and cosmos, mirroring the Greek understanding of the world.

The album goes beyond the musical realm, delving into the complexities of human emotions, reflections on life, and the impact of historical events. It aims to express the spectrum of human experiences, from restlessness and melancholy to hope and the positive aspects of life.

The lyrics of “Kaosmogonia” were born during a period of historical darkness, reflecting the emotions and challenges faced by humanity. The lockdown served as a catalyst for introspection, inspiring the band to confront human weaknesses such as depression, fears, and unhealthy relationships, while also expressing hope for a better future.

“Kaosmogonia” is not just an album; it’s a musical odyssey that invites metal enthusiasts to explore diverse sonic landscapes, cinematic arrangements, and profound storytelling. The album features by Mark Jansen (Epica), Francesco Paoli & Francesco Ferrini (Fleshgod Apocalypse), Emma Zoldan & Nils Courbaron (Sirenia), the male choir from Teatro Massimo Bellini (Catania-Italy) and more. The artwork was created by the great graphic designer Heilemania (Epica, Kamelot, Lindemann, Turilli/Lione Rhapsody).

Fans of Epica, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Dimmu Borgir, Nightwish, and Septicflesh will find a rich and diverse sonic experience that goes beyond the genre’s conventions.

Acclaimed technical death metal virtuoso Matt Miller has his sights on releasing his seventh full-length album, “Fiber Tormentum,” via Exitus Stratagem Records on September 12, 2025. Backed by a full lineup for this offering, the first single, “Descent into Violence,” was unveiled this past June. Today, Miller is sharing his finesse and shred with a guitar playthrough video for fans, which can be viewed below.

A masterclass in technical guitar work, “Descent into Violence” is packed with rapid alternate picking, sweeping arpeggios, and intricate tapping runs. Miller’s phrasing balances aggression with melody, creating a sense of narrative tension. Miller explains further:

“Opening with a barrage of rapid alternate picking that establishes a relentless rhythmic momentum. The urgency intensifies with tremolo-picked riffs, injecting aggression and drive that are quintessential to the technical death metal genre. As the track unfolds, I unleash fluid sweep-picked arpeggios that span multiple strings, weaving in extended chord voicings and exotic scales to create passages that are both melodically intricate and harmonically rich, evoking a neoclassical sensibility. Interspersed throughout are seamless legato lines and two-handed tapping sequences, not merely for speed, but to craft expressive, lyrical phrases that contrast sharply with the track’s more percussive elements. Dissonant intervals and chromatic runs heighten the tension, lending the piece a dark, cinematic atmosphere that mirrors its title. Underpinning it all is a foundation of rhythmic complexity, with shifting time signatures and polyrhythmic grooves that challenge the listener’s expectations.”

Visualizer – https://youtu.be/9fQ3uzcidQI

“Fiber Momentum” marks a significant evolution in Miller’s musical journey, transitioning from his previous instrumental works to a full-band composition. Joining him on this project are Jordan Kelso (Drums, Synth), Justice Robinett (Bass), and Biko Wright (Vocals), each bringing unique elements that enrich the album’s dynamic sound.

“Fiber Tormentum is the most ambitious project yet, aiming to create a technical death metal album that pushes boundaries with clean vocals, intricate guitars, and a theatrical, memorable sound. We emphasize our commitment to excellence, experimentation, and emotional authenticity, blending modern production with a human touch. The album represents a milestone in our evolving musical journey, with even greater ambitions for future work,” adds Miller.

Lyrically, “Fiber Tormentum” unfolds as a conceptual narrative, drawing inspiration from science fiction themes. The album envisions a scenario where extraterrestrial forces manipulate human DNA to subjugate humanity, blending speculative fiction with real-world anxieties. The album’s artwork, created by the late Joshua Nassaru Ward of Voraath, adds a poignant visual dimension to the project’s thematic depth.

Fans can anticipate a blend of technical precision and emotive storytelling, influenced by death metal pioneers like Necrophagist and Spawn of Possession and the atmospheric depth of artists such as Devin Townsend and Rivers of Nihil.

“I am super excited. I already know this is gonna destroy. Matt Miller just absolutely destroys it on all facets. He has so many guitar techniques that he has absolutely mastered and he can literally play it all.” – Omar Rodriguez – The Metal Mixtape – YouTube Channel

“Hell yeah. Holy moly canoli. Fiverr to Fiber Momentum, and that was the album. This song is Descent into Violence. Holy moly canoli, dude. Go support, Matt Miller. That was absolutely badass. Total shredding. Jordan, also a homie of mine, your drums are incredible. The new singer, Bo, I love the harsh vocals in the clean. Total is it almost the cleans almost reminded me of Queensryche meets Cannibal Corpse. It’s pretty freaking sweet. And of course, Justice always lays down the heavy bass with the beautiful bass faces. But an absolutely incredible album….Matt Miller, you could find him everywhere. He’s an incredible guitar player, one of the best guitar players of our generation. Remember, this is Fiber Tormentum courtesy of Exitus Stratagem Records. So, a huge shout-out to them as well. Matt Miller has so many more songs. If you guys like this song (Descent into Violence), believe me, this guy is an absolute shred master. Not only does he do like a ton of his own originals, he does a ton of covers, and also he’s just a shred master of all sorts. Just exactly how they say, melodic, technical, and death. But I will definitely say the big thing that stands apart about this whole song is great structure, absolutely shredding on all levels, and the vocals are just 100% one-of-a-kind. And I totally enjoyed it. Guys, I love you guys from the bottom of my heart. This has been Matt Miller with his new song, Descent into Violence. Pick up the new album on September 12, Fiber Tormentum.” – Omar Rodriguez – The Metal Mixtape – YouTube Channel

“Soaring, crushing, ferocious, emotive, and relentless, are words that strongly describe Decrepit Shed. The album has a lot to offer from various metal sub-genres and encompasses the best elements of technical guitar playing while still having well-written songs”. – Brave Words

“Monument of Velocity” initially had a different title and was not going to be a Matt Miller release and some of the songs were written with vocals in mind and were not going to be instrumental, however, it turned out to be the sixth of seven powerful albums in his discography. contains eight tracks full of technical and progressive metal eliciting feelings of suspense, and tension while being fun, melodic and brutally heavy. Miller’s melodic and relentless music has a wide range of influences and is recommended for fans of Jeff Loomis, Necrophagist, and Obscura.” – Rock’n’ Load

“Even though Miller’s music is instrumental, he likes to think of the guitar as a voice. Which in turn makes him ask what is the guitar saying? He is able to easily convey emotion, tone, and a story even without the use of vocals. Throughout his releases, his music has developed a more modern sound in both the music and the production. Musically the songs are more well written and a lot of the ideas he writes are being accurately represented. He is always trying to push himself as a musician and this is reflected in his discography. Influenced primarily by technical and progressive death metal with a dash of power metal and symphonic metal as well, Matt Miller’s music is recommended for fans of Obscura, Dragon Force, and Racer X” – Metal Sucks

“Mr. Miller can shred like his fingers are on fire” Ever-Metal.com

“Matt shreds all over this album with guitar solos galore”. – Transcending the Mundane

“Soaring, crushing, ferocious, and emotive, Miller conveys a wide range of tones throughout his instrumental music. It is recommended for fans of Dragon Force, Racer X, and Jeff Loomis” – Metal-Rules

“For guitar enthusiasts, I guess it is a feast for the eyes and ears.” – Antichrist Magazine
