NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 29, 2022

Extreme Metal Music – Out Now! Join “The Expedition” w/ Germany’s One Man Symphonic Dark Metal DAIDALOS’ New Album

Join “The Expedition”, the debut symphonic dark metal album from Daidalos now available as of July 29th via Extreme Metal Music. The German one-man band was founded in 2020 by drummer/pianist Tobias Püschner (former drummer of the technical thrash band Revolt).

The album was inspired after reading a book on Captain Sir John Franklin’s Lost Expedition, a British voyage of Arctic exploration that departed with 129 men from England in 1845. Both ships, called Erebus & Terror, became icebound and after being trapped and suffering in eternal coldness for over a year, the remaining sailors decided to abandon their ships. Trying to survive, they set out for the Canadian mainland, but disappeared.

“The Expedition” is a musical journey through the Arctic Ice, on board with Sir John Franklin’s crew. The different moods the sailors had to experience at that time probably went from heroic and enthusiastic to absolute hopelessness and daily mortal fear. I composed these atmospheres musically and told them as a concept album / musical story.” says Püschner

“The Expedition” contains nine songs and has a total playtime of 47 minutes plus a bonus track.

Daidalos’ concept can be described as a full orchestral and dark emotional cinematic journey combined with aggressive vocals and harsh guitars. Most of the songs recorded on the upcoming full-length contain clean choir vocals and fast-paced drumming along with each song being written exclusively on the piano first. The idea behind this way of songwriting is to first finish each track’s own atmosphere with orchestral music and then use those emotions to create the harder parts.

For the recording of “The Expedition”, Püschner recruited guest musicians and friends Martin Simon (Kambrium) (bass/backing vocals), Fabio Rossi (Tryglav) (lead guitar), Francesco Petrelli (guitar), Noga Rotem (choir vocals) who will also support Daidalos on live shows.

“The Expedition” is recommended for fans of Dimmu Borgir, Wintersun, and Fleshgod Apocalypse an available at the following links:

About:
DAIDALOS was founded in 2020 as a one-man band by Tobias Püschner.

The band´s idea is to combine a classical orchestra with fast and aggressive elements, to create atmospheric breakdowns of different mental states.

This happens along epic historic events and stories, to develop a heroic and often hopeless sad feeling.

After sending some demos of the debut album “The Expedition”, Daidalos got directly signed by the label Rockshots / Extreme Metal Music in 2022.

“Sink or Swim” Calgary’s SYRYN’s New Single Takes You On An Epic Sea Tale

New Album “Heads or Tails” Out Aug 26th

Ft. Album Guests Amanda Kiernan (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity),
Craig Carswell (Producer, Singer /Songwriter, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals)

Performing July 30th at Loud As Hell Festival – Drumheller, AB

Set to perform at Western Canada’s decibel-breaking metalfest Loud As Hell on July 30th in Drumheller, AB, Calgary’s SYRYN is ready to seduce new fans and entertain current ones with their epic heavy metal tales of mermaids, sailors, and pirates. The band returns in 2022 with their second album “Heads or Tails” slated for release on August 26th. The band previewed their first single “Madness Becomes Me” off the record in 2021 and today they share their second sneak peek “Sink or Swim” accompanied by a music video. The track is fast-paced, filled with full-on thrash carnage that will make sure you’re fighting for your life. It’s a shift from the band’s first single and brings in some soaring ferocity.

“This song is about endurance. It’s about trials and tribulations and how we handle them. The uncertainties of life and how we navigate them. We internally fight with ourselves, our past, and our consciences daily. This is a prime example of processes we go through when we are scared or in the dark not knowing what lies ahead. We can’t go back, only forward. Will we sink, or will we swim?” adds the band.

“Sink or Swim” can be heard via its music video premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Syryn‘s sophomore album “Heads or Tails”, is a record full of growth, diversity, and a much more collaborative effort as a whole compared to the band’s debut full-length “Beyond the Depths” along with co-writing with guest vocalists Amanda Kiernan (ex-The Order of Chaos, ex-Into Eternity) and Craig Carswell (Producer, Singer /Songwriter, Dorians Mirror, Court of Cardinals). “Head or Tails” is more a themed album branching out into the Pirate/Sailor’s perspective and beyond. The band wanted to continue on the storytelling of a Siren’s journey, touching on as many aspects of it as they could fit onto the record (including the many emotions we go through in everyday life: Love, fear, anger, happiness, sadness, regret, etc.). Syryn also wanted to shake things up and create something a bit out of their regular musical realm, no two songs are alike and that makes the band more difficult to categorize. They try to incorporate all their influences into their own sound with a wide array of styles to adhere to many people’s tastes.

“This album is part of my soul. Not only is it melodic, but it is also menacing and malicious. It’s happy and fun, yet heartwrenching. Every piece of music written includes a piece of myself. How could it not, really. We write from experience, we write from knowledge, or dreams, or desires. I write from all of the above, and more. The beauty of this album as a whole is that we all get it. We all feel those things and want to represent them as best we can. Be it to cheer someone up, provide an awesome drinking song, be pissed off at something or someone, dig a bit deeper, stand up for ourselves, give a musical hug, or whatever the hell else we feel like. This album encompasses all of that and more. Music is a voice, and we are choosing to use it. This album was a blast to write! We’ve been holding on to these riffs for a long while, and hopefully, the anticipation is exactly what our fans were waiting for.” adds vocalist Sloan Voxx.

“Heads or Tails” will be released on August 26th.

Montreal, QC – July 27, 2022

CELESTIAL WIZARD Share An In-depth Look At Their Tasty Riffs On “Revenant” In Playthrough Video

New Album “Winds Of The Cosmos” Out Now!

Denver’s Celestial Wizard is brewing up their own concoction of power and death metal, emphasized with tight, tasty riffs. In their latest video, they playthrough the single “Revenant” and show off the precision behind them. The song is the first full song on the latest album “Winds Of The Cosmos”, and the driving riffs continue the momentum from the previous track. The triplet beat of the guitars and drums gives the song a galloping, energetic feel. The song’s lyrics revolve around immortality and the loneliness and anger that comes with living forever. The track is a step in a new direction from the previous album, featuring primarily singing, instead of the signature death metal vocal stylings. Guitarist/vocalist Nick Daggers details the writing process::

“Guillermo and I have a bevy of riffs, sometimes rough drafts of complete songs, saved in our respective DAWs. We parse through everything and find riffs that we think are strong/unique and start piecing together the song structures. Once we have the first drafts, we send them to Tim for revisions. Tim has a good ear for the pacing and flow of a song and helps us dial in what we have. After revisions, we start working on the lyrics. All of us take on lyric writing duties, with Amethyst and myself handling the majority of lyrics. From there we rehearse songs as a group until they’re strong enough to perform or record, tweaking things as needed.”

Celestial Wizard delivers an energetic and engaging performance while keeping the sound tight. Even in the playthrough video, the passion and fire are evident. They aim to keep this momentum throughout their performances, they strive to entertain fans and have their songs come alive. Armed with a fresh album, a potent sound, and superb musicianship, Celestial Wizard is ready to bring its music to fans around the world. They are highly suggested for fans of Galaktikon, Dark Tranquillity, and Firewind.

The playthrough video for “Revenant” can be viewed via its premiere on NoCleanSinging HERE.

About:
Celestial Wizard is a fantasy-inspired heavy metal band based out of Denver, Colorado. Formed in 2018, this heavy metal quartet delivers crushing riffs and grand stories of dragons and wizards. Seeking to stand out among the others, Celestial Wizard combines the best elements of death metal with symphonic and synthwave elements creating a unique and engaging sound.

In the beginning, they carried a symphonic, fantasy sound dousing every song with a healthy dose of strings, choirs, synthesizers, and the like. This vibe can be heard on their debut album “A Sinister Awakening” (2018). Intended to be a concept album, they marketed some of the limited edition tapes and mini VHS tapes as though the album was a movie, thus The tapes ended up getting put in the soundtrack section of record stores.

The next year, drummer Tim Gillman joined Nick Daggers (guitar/vocals), Guillermo Jurado (guitar/bass), and Amethyst Noir (vocals) and they slashed most of the unnecessary backing tracks and refocused the music on the riffs and the core elements of the band. The evolution is reflected in the second album “Winds Of The Cosmos” (2022) (Release Date July 15th).

They deliver an energetic and engaging performance while keeping the sound tight. They make an effort each night to make their songs come alive and immerse the audience in their love for playing. They have played with bands including Alestorm, Gloryhammer, Insomnium, Nekrogoblikon, and Unleash The Archers. Combining their passions of Dungeons and Dragons, space adventure, and fantasy, Celestial Wizard takes influences like Arch Enemy, Metallica, Firewind, and Turisas and forge a path all their own!

Montreal’s Eternal Closure has a second single “Exiled” ready for ears, that comes off their latest album “At The Centre Of It All – Chapter I”, which will be released in September. The metalcore act isn’t just about melody and breakdowns, they are influenced by thrashy and djent tunes and also by cats. The upcoming album, the first of two parts, will be the third from the band and is their most aggressive to date with a new frontwoman ready to melt faces. The single “Exiled” starts off immediately from when the previous track, “Practice What You Preach” ends. As a vocal playthrough, it gives new frontwoman Katrine Castonguay a chance to show off her range in both guttural growls and powerful cleans. Guitarist/songwriter Olivier Boitel explains further:

“This song calms the pace down a little bit, with the emphasis being on vocal harmonies and overall melodic writing. There’s a good amount of clean guitars during the verses (mostly as back and forth with the vocals) and harsh vocals are used sparingly. The song also probably has my favourite guitar solo I’ve ever written. I’ve never been much of a lead guitar player but a big effort was made into improving that for this album. Lyrically, it’s a more introspective song about staying true to yourself and only changing for your own sake, not how society tells you to.”

Watch and listen to the vocal playthrough “Exiled” – https://youtu.be/PbN8cDDK_r8

Digital pre-save – https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/eternalclosure/exiled

Eternal Closure dates back to about ten years ago, and although technically no one from the original lineup is still in the band they are driving forward, deviating from the core formula by adding progressive tidbits while getting more and more serious about their craft. They are the same band as before, but turning it up a notch by being more technical, more aggressive, and focusing on better songwriting.

Boitel has been taking the helm when it comes to writing material, then guitarists Marine Lacarrière and Phil Lemelin add their pieces to make it a more complete arrangement. Then drummer Philippe Boitel and bassist Jonathan Lauzon re-work the rhythm section to make it their own. Finally, when the song feels close to done, Boitel writes vocal lines and lyrics which are further worked out with Castonguay. The result is tight catchy songs that exude musicianship.

Branching out from more than just metalcore, Eternal Closure is recommended for open-minded metalheads especially those who enjoy As I Lay Dying, Currents, and Trivium.

The full album “At the Center of It All – Chapter I” comes out on September 23, 2022.

Canadian Death Metal HARVESTED Posts Drum Playthrough For Insane Asylum Track “Delirium”

Harvested, emerging death metal from Ottawa, Canada unleashed their debut EP earlier this spring. Each of the five tracks on the record revolves around mental illness, along with inspiration from horror and thriller movies/shows. Today, the band presents a drum playthrough for the pounding fury of their track “Delirium”, a song about what someone could experience in an insane asylum.

“One of our more premature songs, but provides a wide variety of riffs and blast beats to showcase the mayhem that comes from a chaotic mind.” adds drummer Jacob Collins.

The drum playthrough for “Delirium” can be viewed and heard via TheCirclePit – https://youtu.be/NiGruu-KK0w

Harvested‘s debut EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered in 2020 at Dark Moon Productions. The drums were recorded in 2020 at Silverwings Studios in Montreal. It is recommended listening for fans of Deicide, Suffocation, and Dying Fetus.

The band adds:

“Our debut EP is just a taste of what we’ve accomplished so far as an unknown band in the last 3 years of forming, though we have much more in store coming very soon!

We’re inspired by so many different styles of metal from old-school death metal to black metal to slam, it makes it interesting to tradeoff with each other and combines all the elements into one cohesive unit. Though we decided to take a different approach to lyrical content and our focus on the terror behind psychological experiences and mental illness

We are trying to keep that old-school death metal vibe alive to keep the old-school fans excited and more hopeful that this genre will never die, while utilizing and embracing new genres, styles, and production that will capture the ears of the newer generations as well as open a whole new world to the old school fans”. – HARVESTED

The self-titled EP was released on May 7th, 2022.

About:

Harvested is a death metal group with members from Ontario and Quebec. Taking influences from classic death metal legions with a modern touch. The members are ‘Mitchi Dimitriadis’ on guitars. ‘Eric Forget’ on bass, ‘Adam Semler’ on vocals, and ‘Jacob Collins’ on drums. Mitchi is a local Ottawa producer. He’s also taken on engineering the EP and finalized pre-production for the release. Drums were recorded at Silver Wing Studios in Montreal. Guitars, bass, and vocals were officially recorded, all instruments mixed and mastered at ‘Dark Moon Productions’. Adam Semler has been a household name in the Ottawa, ON metal scene taking the world by storm with his groundbreaking projects. Includes but is not limited to A Scar For The Wicked, Misshapen, Hatred Reigns, and Harmoniaq. Harvested is ready to make its debut on May 7th, 2022. Keep an eye out for their upcoming music video release “Apathetic”.

– 30 –

“From the first notes of first track ‘Apathetic’ you realize that these men are a serious bet to get a place in the death metal scene, with solid riffs and powerful rhythmic base, also melodic but not soft solo… I like this EP very much, it has all parts you need to listen to death metal: brutality, technical, good execution, guttural, screams, and growls, blast beats, double bass drums parts, virtuous parts and most important, good songs, it’s a sample of how to make everything fit correctly.” 4.5/5 – Brutalism

“There are very few things that are more exciting within the world of music than a good debut. A solid start for a band is something that should get every fan of the style of music the group plays jacked for what could hopefully be a long and fruitful career. Proficient debuts give you something to jam out to in the present but also hope for the future. Take my word for it, the self-titled debut EP from Ottawa-based Harvested (out May 7) is just that type of invigorating release.” – Metal Plague

“Thrashing guitars, blasting drums, and intense, chesty vocals start and end each track. Recording quality and production is good, allowing each of the instruments to cut through the mix… there is a tremendous amount of potential in this band, and I’d absolutely love to hear more from them. I certainly hope that in the coming years, the pace doesn’t slow or abate, as this EP ought to be on any tech-death fan’s radar for mid-2022.” – Metal Epidemic

“Each one of these cuts is something of a short, sharp shock at around the 210 second mark, while other bands could trim some fat and loose a chorus and verse, Harvested go straight for the jugular live and direct, leaving you wanting that extra chorus and verse which is testament to how good their debut really is. A clean and crisp high quality recording, if we were wine drinkers we would say it goes down like a glass of Chenin Blanc but chances are that if you had a glass in your hand, it would be smashed on the floor in your rush to get to the pit for this. ” – Metal Noise

“From the way closer ‘Bereavement’ comes to a thunderous close, you can just FEEL the energy of what is still to come. ‘Harvested’ is a good start, but I know this band have more in them and I look forward to what comes next. But if you need your head caved in for sixteen and a half minutes, Harvested can sort you right out.” – The Killchain Blog

Just like its predecessor, the band’s new offering is once again a concept album with a complex, personal and unusual sound to test the limits of their songwriting. “6119 Part 1” is a continuation of the previous work on “Reflections”, which will tell us the story of 6119, the main character, through a surreal, oneiric journey, always poised between physical space and the realm of the mind. Trapped in this dreamlike kaleidoscope, he proceeds heedless of the consequences, hoping to find at the end of the journey (the “Part II,” currently in production) the reason why all this is happening to him.

Merging different aspects, sometimes opposite, of human feeling, bringing them together in a colorful and personal musical proposal, which has its roots in influences ranging from prog 70s to death metal, the band explains the new album in further detail:

“This album is a concept realized with the aim of telling a story that straddles the line between dystopian science fiction and the psychological investigation of the human mind, so the music and lyrics were created in order to reach these goals. We would like the listening experience to be completely immersive. We would like the listener to be able to take a break from the real world and step into another dimension, one that is distant but at the same time well known, not alien, but almost familiar. The listener should passionately follow the events of ‘6119’ in its inner and outer search for reality, in a story that began in the previous album ‘Reflections’ and will end in the band’s next release, so as to complete a narrative trilogy.”

Today, the band is unveiling the first single “What Your Are” off “6119 Part 1”. The storyline of the track is dedicated to the search for “Emerald Eyes,” the female figure that “6119” encounters on the first album “Reflections”. The song alternates between very powerful moments, such as the beginning, and more reflective and intimate moments such as the central interlude, which takes us back to desert and arabesque sounds and atmospheres.

Having shared sharing the stage with bands such as Jinjer, Vision Divine, Deathless Legacy, Domine, Pino Scotto, MindAhead is recommended for fans of Opeth, Ayreon, Haken, Katatonia and Pink Floyd. “6119 Part 1” is due out October 28th, 2022 via Rockshots Records.

“MindAhead are a band of innovation in metal. They are on the vanguard of where avant garde and progressive metal is going into the future. I believe Reflections is opening up another door of true ideas and standards for this kind of experimental metal. They continue Italy’s rich under rated progressive rock and metal tradition. They have a very distinctive and unique sound that will stand out among the current metal landscape. MindAhead’s Reflections is one of the absolute strongest debut albums over the last 25 years. I am giving MindAhead’s Reflections a perfect 5/5.” – Power of Prog

“The music captured different moods very well that it was almost like an emotional roller coaster listening to this album. Kyo Calati and Frank Novelli did an awesome job singing together. With his ferocious, strength-y growls and screams and her beautiful, serene, innocent voice; they complimented each other like peanut butter and jelly. Great vocalists, great playing and great music! I recommend giving it a listen.” – Metal Temple

“MINDAHEAD have done a lot right on their debut album. Reflections is exciting and entertaining, brings – with the exception of the quiet Farewell – power and surprises with its modern and progressive expressions. An unexpectedly strong debut.” – Vamspter

“Between long suites (Amigdala and Three Sides Of A Dangerous Mind) and more immediate pieces, as in the case of On The Dead Snow and Emerald Eyes, the sextet demonstrates an uncommon determination, and the proven ability to confront a modern and evolved conception of metal. A knockout blow that deserves to be properly exploited, by a band with great potential.” – Rock Hard Italy (2017)

“Among MindAheaD’s many musical influences are the 70’s, progressive rock and death metal. The nature of this band is multifaceted and the band’s name itself is a word that blends thought (mind) and body (head).” – System Failure Webzine

“MINDAHEAD have all the ingredients to become a safe bet, with their own personality and a full-length that, being their debut, could be preparing us for a spiritual successor of OPETH.” – Necromance Magazine

“If you like your progressive but don’t mind a few aggressive vocals in the mix, not that they really dominate, then this is highly recommended. The female vocal is excellent and the countering of the two works perfectly.” – The Rocktologist

The ocean is a vast, unforgiving world where things can go horribly awry. This is the topic of Eaten By Sharks’ latest single “Dead Weight” off the upcoming album “Eradication” – a technical death metal horror story that takes a deep dive into the gruesome possibilities that can result from daring to enter the untamed sea.

The single hits quickly, revealing some of the hells we face out on the open waters, alone out in the elements, what will you do to survive? What would you do in the fight for your life while battling infection and madness? Will you leave a trail of carnage behind you? These questions are presented alongside down-picked speed chugging, odd times, progressive movements, and a punishing ending. The band comments on the song:

“’Dead Weight’ is the follow-up to the punishing groove of ‘Shallow Water’. No intro, No standing around, just straight into the madness! This song is the fastest that we offer on the album, the most aggressive and progressive. Lyrically, Matt whips up another nautical disaster story, shipwrecked and alone. To what atrocities man will resort, to stay alive? His vocals are put to task, he keeps up to tempo, pulls out all the stops, and delivers yet another perfectly matched vocal performance, punctuated with a squeal that slurps up the grime from the deepest trench that the ocean has to offer.”

Eaten By Sharks was hatched out of a desire to start a punishing metal project and as soon as the moment was right, the heavy techy riffs started flowing. Adding blast beats and breakdowns to them along with a healthy appetite for horror movies, the band was formed with a campy nautical horror theme and serious musicianship.

With elements of slam, thrash and deathcore, Eaten By Sharks up the ante when it comes to technical death metal. Fans of Cattle Decapitation, Revocation, and Gojira will be especially interested in testing the waters.

“Shit, did they put on a solid show and constantly required crowd interaction. They seamlessly blended classic and modern death metal with some technical flare here and there. I was thoroughly impressed with this awesome band, and can only add another solid band to the ever-growing laundry list of opening bands that may or may hit hit the spot…..and Eaten By Sharks fucking shredded!” – Technical Music Review (Live Review – Eaten By Sharks Opening for First Fragment – St. Catharines, ON -12-2-18)

“They groove a ton, with some sweet guitar licks for good measure to keep your ears engaged. They’re a mix of classic and new death metal, and just as ferocious.” – Technical Music Review

About:
LOUD AS HELL 2022 will be celebrating its tenth festival event presented by Loud As Hell Productions, Jurassic Ink Custom Tattoo, Prairie Fire Events, and Asher Media Relations. LAH always works their hardest to deliver the best lineup in the West ready to melt your face off. Featuring bands from across Canada, you won’t want to miss any of it. And don’t forget about their freak shows, burlesque dancers, clinics, vendors and dinosaurs!

For LAH’s 2021 lineup, the music event featured an assortment of forty top-tier artists from Western Canada over three headbanging days that included a special reunion performance from main headliners Into Eternity with former vocalist Stu Block along with Planet Eater and Arrival of Autumn (Nuclear Blast).

The sold-out 2021 lineup was scaled down to only Canadian bands due to international artists being unable to perform in the country because of border restrictions and guidelines stated by the federal government for Covid pre-cautions.

What the press is saying:
“Western Canada’s loudest heavy metal festival brings fans to town more known for dinos than drum solos.” – CBC Calgary

“Loud as Hell – one of Canada’s top underground metal festivals – was a metal family reunion. If you walked around the grounds, where tents covered the landscape like flowers, you would experience concert goers laughing, hugging and just enjoying the moment. The music played non-stop and the people were some of the best you’ll meet. What else do you need? If you’re a metalhead fan, mark it down for next year because this is a concert you don’t want to miss.” – Blackfalds Life

“Headbanger alert: Loud As Hell festival to ramp up the volume” – Calgary Herald

“Nevermind the bug spray and sun tan lotion, as August approaches Drumheller residents should stock up on earplugs.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud As Hell returns to the southern Alberta city for its seventh year and as its name implies, will rock the city to its core.” – Calgary Herald

“Loud as Hell has celebrated eight years in the Badlands to date, with acts from all over the world-shattering the peace and quiet of the hills in a camping and music extravaganza.” – Hanna Herald

“Drumheller with its dinosaur bones is the site of the annual Loud as Hell heavy metal festival Friday through Sunday. Dozens of the heaviest bands known to Man will be taking the stage, many of them Canadian” – Gig City

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – July 22, 2022

GRAVESHADOW Release “Vengeance Of Envy” Video

West Coast Tour Completes This Weekend

Last Friday GRAVESHADOW released their anticipated new album, ‘The Uncertain Hour,’ and kicked off a west coast tour. Today GRAVESHADOW release their next music video “Vengeance of Envy.” Check it at https://youtu.be/oY6UCM7PPhQ

“I’m excited to release this song because of its straightforward and rock heavy sound,” states singer Rachl “Raxx” Quinn. “Rock ‘n roll is a large part of my origin, and the mesh of hard rock and heavy metal culminates in something I think that is truly special.”

GRAVESHADOW’s third album, ‘The Uncertain Hour,’ was produced by Miss May I guitarist Justin Aufdemkampe (Clutch, War of Ages), mastered by Alberto De Icaza (Crobot, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) and features artwork by Roman Ismaylov (Battle Beast, Beast In Black). The Sacramento-based quintet deftly mixes symphonic/gothic metal with elements and influences from a variety of styles to create something epic, progressive, melodic and powerful.

‘The Uncertain Hour’ sees a new lineup for GRAVESHADOW now augmented by the newfound energy that has been brought into the band by the soaring melodic performance of new vocalist Rachl “Raxx” Quinn and the rumbling rhythm section of new bassist Luci Rae and new drummer Bones Padilla. The returning guitar duo of William Lloyd Walker and Aaron Robitsch once again deliver a beautiful display of guitar histrionics that tastefully mixes searing shred with warm melody, while Aaron even adds some harsh backing vocals. GRAVESHADOW are back on the scene with a story to tell. Intertwining melodic highs and crushing lows to sweep listeners away on a journey of self-discovery, loss and the will to carry on.

CDs and limited-edition vinyl (200 copies) of ‘The Uncertain Hour’ are available in stores or can be ordered online from www.smarturl.com/graveshadow, as well as digital downloads/streaming.

Three digital singles and videos have been released in the buildup for the album. The first taste of new music from the reformed lineup came with The Witcher inspired song “Gwynnebleidd” https://youtu.be/XrorDG70g3Q back in May 2020. It proved the revamped quintet could create new music and be accepted by their existing fanbase and a new audience. Collaborating on more new music further sessions continued and were evidenced by “Soldier Of 34” https://youtu.be/qXDzhkfRjuM and “The Swordsman” (the latter even featuring guest vocals from Chelsea Murphy of Dawn of Ouroboros, Cailleach Calling and Tegmentum) https://youtu.be/WnFOUN9S4aw.

Remaining Dates GRAVESHADOW “The Uncertain Hour Tour 2022” w/VINTERSEA:
7/22 – Dante’s – Portland, OR
7/23 – Cafe Colonial – Sacramento, CA

GRAVESHADOW‘s previous album, 2018’s ‘Ambition’s Price,’ was given accolades by Metal Utopia for being “a great record with lots of great moments for fans of Nightwish and The Birthday Massacre.” Metal Nation praised ‘Ambition’s Price,’ declaring that “GRAVESHADOW has taken what has become a somewhat complacent and stagnant style of metal and breathed fresh life into it, creating something vibrant and memorable.” The fantastical lyrical themes that were explored by the band on ‘Ambition’s Price’ – their debut record for M-Theory Audio and the follow-up to the group’s incubatory 2015 debut full-length ‘Nocturnal Resurrection’ – were applauded by critics and fans alike. The band followed the release of ‘Ambition’s Price’ by winning over new audiences with extensive touring alongside bands such as Arkona, Sirenia, Exmortus, Night Demon, and Unleash The Archers.

Out Now! Norway’s TONIC BREED “Fuel The Fire” of Their Thrash Evolution w/ New EP ft. Guests From Megadeth, Soilwork, Kamelot and more!

“Fuel The Fire” Out July 22nd

Norway’s Tonic Breed has been reborn to evolve into a one-man thrash tank led by founding member Patrik K. Svendsen. Since first forming in 2006, Tonic Breed operated as a full contingent with tons of experience in the European metal community. Following the release of their 2018 album “Install Memory” and after 13 years of moshing, the band members decided to part ways in 2019 with Patrik K. Svendsen taking the reins to reinvent the band for its next release, the EP entitled “Fuel The Fire” that includes guest appearances from Dirk Verbeuren (Megadeth), Bernt Jansen (Artch/Wig Wam), Björn Strid (Soilwork), Martin Skriubakken (Endezzma) and Oliver Palotai (Kamelot).

Set to be unleashed on July 22nd, “Fuel the Fire” is raw, energetic hard-hitting thrash, with melodic and groovy elements. The record is four songs all composed by Svendsen, each with their unique touch and sound. The EP will not disappoint the Tonic Breed fanbase, the songs are similar to the styling of past TB recordings, but with new enlightening elements such as EP closing track “Blood Moon”, a melodic piece demonstrating some experimental songwriting from Svendsen.

The songs were recorded over 18 months with multiple sound engineers from different countries, along with various guest musicians. Svendsen explains in further detail the decision on continuing as a one-man band and putting out the EP:

“The re-branding of Tonic Breed came to life after the lineup was divided. All the other previous band members started their new band projects, but I had not that same momentum going on at the time. I did not then, or have never since, considered making this a full band again to play live shows with Tonic Breed. At the same time, I had a couple of unfinished songs I wanted to finish. So after a little while, I started to take action and continue my musical path as well. The songs I worked with then were meant for a new project. Every now and then on this journey, I did consider officially ending Tonic Breed with a statement to our fans from time to time. You know, instead of just silently fading away. So while this was happening in one part of my brain, I thrived forward with my songs in another. I experimented with different images and styles of music (within the metal genre). Eventually, I also came up with the idea of having guests onboard. But instead of creating something new, I restarted something old. Small details made me choose this path. Not to forget, it was very spontaneous. My logic at the time was that by releasing the singles within the old name, the fanbase was already there. The music was not too different after all. Also, it gave me reasons to talk about the previous albums and continue to boost life in those. There are many reasons I think back on this choice. If we’re going to look at the practical ones, I have learned that to re-brand a band must be more difficult than starting up something new. But hey, the choice is made, and it is too late to turn around now.”

“Fuel the Fire” is available on all digital platforms Spotify, Apple Music.
