Since the formation of Kansas City’s Torn The Fuck Apart, the band has been busy ripping people’s faces off with a relentless onslaught of brutality. Their sixth album “Kill.Bury.Repeat.” will be ready this year and death metal fans are eagerly waiting to sink their teeth into it. The second single “A Statement of Malicious Intent” is a meaty look at the real-life events that took place back in 1997 in North Hollywood, delivered in blistering death metal through a lyric video created by Jeffrey Sisson (F+ Productions). The band digs into the details:

“A Statement of Malicious Intent is inspired by the true events of the Hollywood shootout on Feb. 28, 1997. The shootout is considered one of the bloodiest shootouts in the history of the United States police force. More than 2,000 rounds were fired and Larry Phillips Jr. was shot nearly a dozen times. Emil Matasareanu was shot several times in the legs, and bled to death a short time later.”

Watch and listen to “A Statement of Malicious Intent” via its premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

Torn The Fuck Apart got their start almost 20 years ago when their love and appreciation for heavy/death metal evolved into them wanting to create their own music. They started writing music for“Kill.Bury.Repeat.” back before the pandemic and took a quality-over-quantity approach in their writing. This will be the first album for the band as a three-piece and they strive to produce a solid, full-bodied sound that is as equally entertaining as it is technically well thought out.

Brutal and visceral, they worked with esteemed music engineer Robert Rebeck (Origin), to finesse “Kill.Bury.Repeat.”. Within each of the ten tracks on the album, there is something for every kind of metalhead. It is especially recommended for fans of Dying Fetus, Deicide, and Suffocation.

Brutal, gory, fast, and technical, “Kill.Bury.Repeat.” is due out on October 6th, 2023 via Gore House Productions.

“The Kansas City brutal death dealers are incredibly good at what they do: song titles that could’ve come from the darker recesses of Jeffrey Dahmer’s mind, technical riffs, blast-happy drumming and grunted vocals.” – Emily Bellino – Decibel Magazine

“The band offer up a visceral blend of technical ferocity and rolling aggression, augmented with punishing grooves and even the occasional blood-red splash of melody.” – Wonderbox Metal

Rockshots Records – As The Palaces Burn Get “Into Emotions” w/ New Music Video

New Album “Drowning Into Shadows” Out Oct 2023

In the dynamic landscape of Brazilian heavy metal, the band “As The Palaces Burn” has carved a distinctive niche with their balanced fusion of aggression and technical finesse. Drawing from a diverse spectrum of influences encompassing traditional Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, and nuanced hints of Progressive and Modern Metal, the band’s sonic identity is as diverse as it is powerful.

Signing with Rockshots Records, the band is presenting their new album “Drowning Into Shadows” to follow their EPs “Offer To The Gods” (2022), “All the Evil” (2020), and 2019 debut full-length “End’evour”. Those releases pushed forward the band’s growing recognition in their home country along with earning them nominations from Roadie Crew Magazine’s “Best of the Year” awards in both 2019 and 2020.

The band’s new offering “Drowning Into Shadows” features their lead single “Into Emotions” to set the tone for the epic 9-track modern metal album that encapsulates their journey and growth.

“Immerse yourself in the chaos of ‘Into Emotions,’ where life’s cycle converges with relentless circles. As the symphony climaxes, a world veiled by deception and enmity unravels, daring you to stand resolute against the fall. This metal masterpiece beckons As The Palaces Burn fans to witness its raw energy, culminating in an electrifying video that mirrors the music’s intensity. Engulfed by shadows, yet emerging stronger, the song’s journey is a testament to perseverance against despair, echoing on and on, an unyielding tribute to resilience.” adds guitarist Diego Bittencourt.

Under the musical visionary and guitarist Diego Bittencourt’s guidance, who crafted all the music and lyrics with a fierce passion, the album emerges as a testament to the band’s indomitable spirit. Alyson Garcia’s vocals pierce through the melodies like a sonic battlecry, while André Schneider’s bass sets the foundation for the musical onslaught. Diego Bittencourt, also lending his commanding vocals, showcases his prowess on guitars that ignite the soul of the album, while Gilson Naspolini’s drums provide the heart-pounding pulse that propels the tracks into pure metal euphoria.

The highlights are “For The Weak”, “Into Emotions” and the last single, “Obbey”. The album is also graced by the captivating track “Some Of Them Died”, a tribute to metal legends that have left an indelible mark on the genre’s landscape. The song is a homage to icons like Children Of Bodom, Nevermore, Dio, Van Halen, Rush, Pantera, Slayer, Death, and Depeche Mode, woven into the very fabric of As The Palaces Burn‘s essence.

The album’s intense artwork by Carlos Fides and the band’s own captivating photo by Eduardo Köenig serve as visual preludes to the sonic journey within. “Drowning Into Shadows” beckons all metal enthusiasts to immerse themselves in its relentless rhythms, soaring melodies, and an unrelenting spirit that resonates through each note. As The Palaces Burn has undoubtedly crafted a masterpiece that stands as a shining testament to the might of heavy metal.

Halifax, Canada’s Kilmore is sharing their latest music video for Omitted, a song about forgotten heroes and the internal struggles they face. Entitled “Omitted”, the track was written with them in mind and turned out to be a unique, lower-key song from their new EP “From the Inside” released this March.

“Today we tend to forget about real heroes and idolize fame and fortune over everyday people who work their whole lives to help. Neil our bassist shows a lot of elements to his bass playing in this song and Jon our drummer really locks into the song, which brings out the best qualities of the guitar and vocals.” adds vocalist/guitarist Heather Harris.

The video can be seen and heard via its premiere on V13 HERE.

In additional news, Kilmore‘s EP “From the Inside” has been nominated for “Loud Recording of the Year” by the Nova Scotia Music Awards.

The band comments:

“We are ecstatic to be nominated for “Loud Recording of the Year” at the 2023 Nova Scotia Music Awards. We are proud of this record (From the Inside) and are excited to have it recognized. Music Nova Scotia is a huge supporter of music in Nova Scotia and we are thrilled to also be a part of the music festival. We are looking forward to traveling back to Yarmouth, NS to hit the stage and see other local artists as well.”

The nomination was announced on August 17th along with the following category nominees listed below. The 2023 Music Nova Scotia Music & Industry Awards will be held during Nova Scotia Music Week from November 2nd – 5th in Yarmouth. For more info, please visit https://www.nsmw.ca.

Following their East Coast Music Award-nominated 2015 EP “City Lights”, and 2018 LP “Call of the Void”, which won the 2019 ECMA “Loud Recording of the Year”, Halifax, Canada’s Kilmore released their latest offering, the new EP “From the Inside” produced by Jon Landry (The Stanfields). The record features six tracks of groovy, stoner rock with metal elements.

‘”From the Inside’ has exposed a maturity in our sound from our last two records. Working with producer, Jon Landry, helped us craft the best version of the songs. It was written during a time when we all felt uncertain about our futures not just in music but in life. It has themes of rebirth, admiration, confusion, frustration, and hate. The songs all have a mixture of emotions, but the EP will carry you through journeys of escapism. This EP, in our opinion, is our best work to date and we are thrilled to release it.” adds vocalist/guitarist Heather Harris.

The lyrics for “From the Inside” were written during real change around the world and an internal bittersweet struggle. Along with that, Heather Harris became a new mother and was trying to find her place in a new reality really speaks loudly in the emotions on the record. Some themes are of destruction while others of hope, each song has its own theme/feel. Listening to these selected six songs, the band offers up an unearthing of realities in life through sounds and wanting to create something new.

Recommended for fans of Royal Thunder, Baroness, Ghost, and The Damn Truth, “From the Inside” was released on March 31st, 2023.

About: Kilmore finds its roots deep in influence from two siblings who immigrated from Newry, Northern Ireland at an early age to Vancouver, BC, and eventually to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Two new Canadians growing up in the nineties, finding their musical diet of grunge to surpass the time.

Fast forward to 2013, sister and brother Heather Harris (vocals, guitars) and Dan Doran (guitars) formed with the addition of Neil Spence (bass) and Lor Sangster (drums) to the original lineup. Sangster was later replaced in 2019 by Jon MacIsaac (drums) from local bands Chosen Lung, Burdened, Earth Alter to complete the current lineup.

Dark, aggressive, brawny, and haunting, Kilmore is recommended for fans of Royal Thunder, Baroness, Windhand, and The Damn Truth.

“While Halifax band Kilmore’s latest album isn’t technically out until March’s end, we couldn’t sleep on having it in this list: A follow-up to the band’s ECMA Loud Recording of the Year-winning album Call The Void, the upcoming From The Inside is stoner groove music with a heavy hit of metal mixed in. The lead single “Firestone” is all the proof you need that this one’s gonna slap.” – The Coast Halifax

“Kilmore is by far the best Canadian stoner/groove/psych band I’ve heard in forever, I have a feeling their rise to the big stage will happen sooner than later. For fans of this musical genre, From the Inside is an absolute MUST! ” – Spill Magazine

“This is one of those records you feel from the opening chords. From the first few seconds of “Tempest”, I was drawn in. Halifax band Kilmore have released their latest project, an EP called From the Inside. I would describe this EP as ‘stoner rock with bits of metal sprinkled in,’ but over the six songs we get bits of grunge, hard rock, and Kilmore’s own unique melodic vibes, as heard on “Omitted”. 8/10” – CKDU 88.1 FM – Halifax – Ra’keem – Music Director

“Escaping from toxic influences and exploring new shores simultaneously, Kilmore sound more earthed and confident than ever before. From the Inside is solid, melancholic and full of motivational sounds.” – Mangowave Magazine

“The amazing vocals by Heather Harris are the one constant factor as the six tracks shift color and dive into whatever aspect the band felt was right for the song.” – Stoner Hive

“From the Inside is a true inner journey, at once chaotic, melancholy and filled with hope. Heather expresses with great determination, all her feelings about love, hate, frustration, understanding, renewal and the search for truth. From the Inside opens with the explosive Tempest. The exalted song increases in power accompanied by an instrumental tornado with massive fuzz. Presented last December, this first single was the infallible detonator for a hard-hitting and irresistible hook that only makes you want to know what happens next.” – Rock Metal Mag

ROCKIN’ ENGINE Welcome Horror Fans And Rockers Home With Bloody Music Video For “Carnival of Evil”

New EP “Altered By Evil” Out Now!

Rockin’ Engine’s new EP “Altered By Evil” is not only a solid dose of full-throttled rock that will have your body moving, but it’s also a homage to some of the best horror characters and events. The third single from the recently released record is “Carnival of Evil” presented now in video form. Inspired by the works of Rob Zombie, they went all out in the production of this video with the help of Joe Lyko of Dark Moon Productions and Light is Art Studio. Vocalist and guitarist Steve O Leff enthusiastically shares details about it:

“Having spent almost our entire budget on the production of our EP and music video for Monsters Under Your Bed, we only had enough money left to shoot one more music video. So, we had to go out big, and with a bang! When we started brainstorming for the concept of our video, we came up with some absolutely crazy, and even disturbing ideas… so we decided to create them all! From a wheel of torture to a magician box, from fake silicone limbs to a rusty butcher cleaver, we built everything from scratch. Even the fake blood is corn syrup and water-based.”

The music for this song was written by lead guitarist Ste Vy Leff. At that time, vocalist Steve O Leff was watching Rob Zombie’s Devil’s Rejects and it occurred to him that Captain Spaulding, the evil clown character in the movie, would be absolutely perfect for the track’s subject matter. He draws a similarity between the traveling circus of the movie and Rockin’ Engine.

“They are ruthless yet charismatic, and they will stop at nothing to deliver a performance to die for!”

Those who get to check out one of their gigs can expect great chemistry and very contagious energy from all of them. They’re explosive in our playing and always go full throttle. The focus is never only on one musician, they all have their time to shine during live performances.

This piece is heavy, punchy, and catchy, and will satisfy the eyes and ears of any horror movie fanatic. It is recommended for fans of Lamb Of God, Gojira, and Metallica.

Watch and listen to the music video for “Carnival of Evil” via its premiere on V13 HERE.

The band’s new EP “Altered By Evil” is available on Rockinengine.bandcamp.com (CD, Digital), Spotify, and Apple Music.

“There’s a scathing, contemporary thrash quality throughout the song “Libre Ex-Mortis” that brings to mind Lamb Of God musically while juxtaposed against melodic vocals that are almost pop-like in the vein of Night Demon. This contrast is interesting and most notable on “Monsters Under Your Bed” because of the interplay between the beaming vocals and the slick, pseudo-death metal barrage. Considering the accessible sounds, it’s obvious that the Canucks seek commercial success should that path become available to them. However the cookie may crumble in time, “Altered By Evil” is an enjoyable release for those who don’t mind aspects of the popular side of modern metal.” – Metal Underground

“The fusion of hard rock, thrash, and modern groove metal gives Rockin’ Engine potential to appeal to numerous audiences based on the material present with Altered by Evil. Standing on the precipice of glory, this quartet could be valuable to most label rosters based on the talent and quality songwriting delivered here. 8/10” – Dead Rhetoric

“The Shining inspired “Room 185” finds the band joined by Steph Jomphe of Insurrection fame for a cut that brings the blood stained curtain down in style. The riffs hit like tidal waves, the percussion from Joel Bilodeau absolutely huge and the mix from Dark Moon Productions absolutely nailed to perfection [8.5/10]” – Metal Noise

“Unlike others who choose to combine their love of horror and metal, what makes Rockin’ Engine stand out is they’re not winking at us here. These are tracks inspired by horror, both fiction and non-fiction, and moulded around Rockin’ Engine’s thrash sound. They’ve not adapted their music to fit the horror, it’s the other way around. 8/10” – Games, Brrraaains & A Head-Banging Life

“Heavy, powerful and charismatic, “Altered By Evil” is by far their best work. Look forward to the hell Rockin’ Engine will ignite wherever they perform. If Gojira, Lamb Of God and Rob Zombie had a child, Rockin’ Engine would be their bastard son. Their fusion of hard rock and thrash metal will set any stage ablaze and leave everyone with bad whiplash.” – Amplified Mag

“This is obviously a band that knows how to play to their strengths. As the subject matter changes for each song, The Exorcist, The Evil Dead, The Shining, etc.. so does the music. Not drastically, you can still tell it’s the same band, but it keeps everything nice and fresh through the release. Six tracks over a 30-minute period is about right… other bands take note… Quality over quantity wins it for me every time. This is as good as anything I hear from mid-sized labels over here in Europe. The fact that this is a self-release tells you how fucked our industry is as this really deserves a bigger and more widespread audience that’ll probably get. Puck this up on July 7th.” – Smorg Mag

“Although the band is often labeled a Heavy Metal band on the album’s opening notes, we clearly feel more violent influences than heavy, we could almost put them on the border of Thrash. So the band proposes an album having an identity that is its own while trying to renew the style, the prod while being modern does not fall into the cliché of the over-auction and the crossing of different styles gives an excellent result so you can be tight be surprised to hear a riff or beat that could very well have been in the middle of a death album to which the band add a brilliant voice for a very convincing result. We’ll wait to see the sequel to know if the group will want to lead, even if we don’t really know where the group wants to go, it’s a refreshing approach to them.” – Metal In Veins

0 Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON New Lyric Video “Tektyranny” Off New Album “Artificial Insanity” Out Sept 2023 (Moribund Records)

Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON New Lyric Video “Tektyranny”

New Album “Artificial Insanity” Out Sept 2023 (Moribund Records)

Canada’s new power thrash metal gods Triskelyon will be unleashing their sophomore album “Artificial Insanity” (mixed and mastered by Michael Small (Winterhearth, Triskelyon, Artach)) on September 8th via Moribund Records.

Today, the band is unveiling their next single “TekTyranny” featuring guest vocals from Infrared’s Armin Kamal with a lyric video that can be seen and heard at https://youtu.be/hgT8CDAHJYA

Spotify – https://sptfy.com/OMjt

Guitarist Geoff Waye adds about the single:

“The album’s opening track, this one is a thrasher of a song that kind of came out a little like Megadeth with a mixture of some tremolo picking almost black metal-esque guitar parts. It features Armin Kamal from the Canadian thrash band INFRARED. Their first run was back in the mid to late 80s, then they went on a long hiatus until they came back in 2014. Armin is another person who I didn’t know personally, but I admired what he was doing with his band. So in keeping with the theme of looking for Canadian vocalists to help out with the vocals, I reached out to him to see if he’d be interested in singing a song on the album and luckily he was! I sent a rough mix of the song and my lyrics and let him do his thing. Armin does some amazing vocals on here. Listen for the high screams in the chorus, especially at the end of the song, which enters into the realms of Rob Halford and King Diamond. The mixture of that and his more gruff thrash vocals really stand out.”

Founded in 2021 by guitarist Geoff Waye, of the popular true metal band Category VI, Triskelyon released one self-titled EP and was promptly signed to Moribund Records for their radio chart-topping debut album “Downfall” (2022).

On Triskelyon’s second outing “Artificial Insanity”, band leader Geoff Waye has once more recruited the crème de le crème of the Canadian metal scene. Enlisting the vocal talents of guests Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Cara McCutchen (Mortillery, Naitaka), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Des Mason, Ellim, Pete Healey, Raúl Álvarez (Dark Order-Aus.) and Tim Tymo (Tymo) culminate in a varied album, which delivers both pure thrash metal classics, hints of blackened melodic thrash, and enough power metal to bring one back to the 1980s.

Drum Duties are shared between Raul Marques (Burning Torment) and Alexander Raykov (Antreib), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), and Darrin Pope are conscripted on bass.

With “Artificial Insanity”, Triskelyon returns with a varied yet blistering thrash/power metal classic, bringing back the 1980’s glory days, while maintaining a fresh and modern sound. To close the album Triskelyon surprises all with an incredible female-fronted power metal rendition of the hit song “It Doesn’t Really Matter” by Canadian rockers Platinum Blonde.

Mandatory listening for fans of Megadeth, Forbidden, Agent Steel, Exodus, Slayer, Testament, and Overkill, “Artificial Insanity” is due out on September 8, 2023, and is available for pre-order from Moribund Records at the following link: http://www.moribundcult.com/product/DEAD309.html

“This was one of my anticipated albums this year as the EP wet my whistle but was far from being enough to satisfy my metal hunger. Hopefully this is not a one off because this is one of the most unique projects to come across my radar in a long time. I’m curious to see where Mr. Waye takes this project next. We shall see. In the meantime…get this album, you’ll thank me for it!” – Metal-Rules

“The highlight of the opening trio is the rampaging “Odyssey (Blessed By Steel)” which finds Marlee Ryley of Hyperia in fine form. Waye is on the rampage with a collection of frenetic riffs and the result is an adrenaline rush of a song that really gets things going. “A Time of War” then finds Triskelyon in Megadeth territory minus the trademark snarl of Dave Mustaine for what can only be described as a classic Thrash anthem… All in all, there is plenty to enjoy here, especially if you’re a lover of the mighty riff ” – Metal Noise

“Thrash Metal with melody, good arrangements and multiple voices.” – PowerMetal.de

“Power-Thrash equipped with murderous riffs on a technically first-class level with changeable exciting vocal variability, at times also surrounded by a dark atmosphere.” – FFM-Rock

“Most of the songs on here are fast and furious, such as “Balance of Terror” with its Hanneman/King-esque riffing, the skull-piercing “Odyssey (Blessed by Steel)” and the powerful “A Time of War,” though they do slow down a bit on the moody march of “Find a Way” while still remaining heavy as all hell… Triskelyon don’t reinvent the wheel of Power/Thrash, but they sure know how to keep it spinning, and that makes Downfall worth giving a spin of its own.” – The Metal Crypt

Dive Into Massive Scar Era’s Beautiful and Melancholic Metal With “Back To The Sun”

New EP “Metal Goes Egyptian” Out November 2023

Massive Scar Era is the brainchild of the visionary artist Cherine Amr, who leads a collaborative journey with diverse musicians in every EP, bringing her unique vision to life. Originating from Alexandria, Egypt, and currently based in Montreal, QC, Massive Scar Era defies genre boundaries, weaving together a captivating tapestry of progressive rock, post-grunge, Egyptian music, and metal, resonating deeply with audiences across the globe.

With an impressive six albums already, Massive Scar Era is ready to present its seventh “Metal Goes Egyptian” this year. The first look at this EP is the single “Back To The Sun”, which holds a special place for Amr, which she explains:

“It’s a reflection of the warmth and nostalgia we all carry within us. The chorus, sung on a Maqam Rust with its intricate microtone, adds a touch of melancholy and emotional depth to the music. This song is an ode to the feeling of belonging and the yearning to return to a time and space where we felt at ease.”

The chorus of “Back to the Sun” beautifully utilizes the Maqam Rust, incorporating a microtone between the third and fourth degrees of the scale. This musical choice enhances the emotional and melancholic impact of the song, adding depth and expressiveness. Microtones, which refer to the pitches that lie between the conventional Western musical notes, allow for subtle variations in pitch within the Maqam Rust scale. By incorporating microtones, the song achieves a nuanced and evocative melodic quality, capturing the essence of the emotional journey back home.

A truly enriching musical experience, Massive Scar Era is doomy and melodic metal suitable for fans of Nawather, Merkfolk, and Aeternam.

Watch and listen to the music video “Back to the Sun” via its premiere on Bravewords HERE.

Display of Decay has been a cornerstone of the underground Canadian death metal scene for over a decade, having released five recordings (two eps and 3 albums) in that time, touring extensively, and making appearances at several festivals in Canada and the US. They have once again returned to the studio, to dish out another hefty serving of fast riffs, groovy bass lines, and thunderous gutturals as their fourth full-length “Vitriol” (Mixed & Mastered by Christian Donaldson of Cryptopsy) to be released in October of this year. While fans wait to sink their teeth into what promises to be a juicy offering of death metal, they can whet their appetites with the single “The Butcher”. The band shares their thoughts on the song and its nerdy ties:

“The Butcher is the most dynamic song on the record. Its tempo fluctuates so much throughout to build up with the story behind the song. Initially, it started out as someone who was taken hostage and held against their will, soon to be burned alive, but we couldn’t help but draw reference to Diablo’s notorious Butcher who’s been featured in several of their games. The sheer heaviness of that intro and the catchiness of the chorus is guaranteed to turn heads and blow minds.”

The album “Vitriol” was born of rage and spite fueled further by the chaos and uncertainty felt worldwide over the last few years. The lyrical content covers a variety of topics ranging from pop culture references like Diablo & Mass Effect to darker undertones of the mainstream media’s obsession with school shootings and other acts of senseless violence that are continuously looped for ratings evidently posing a risk of reproduction. Each song is delivered with precision and relentless brutality, a cumulation of both new-school and old-school American death metal.

Line up for slaughter, “The Butcher” lyric video is out now, and “Vitriol” will arrive on October 20, 20th via Gore House Productions. It is recommended for fans of Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, and Immolation.

Rockshots Records – Streaming Now! Welcome To The Realm of DRAGONHEART And New Album “The Dragonheart’s Tale”

New Lyric Video “Ghost Of The Storm” ft. Henning Basse (Metalium, Fire Wind)

DRAGONHEART is welcoming fans to the realm of “The Dragonheart’s Tale”, the fifth studio album from the Brazilian fantasy power metallers now available as of August 25th via Rockshots Records.

“Fans rejoice, it’s gonna be almost 52 minutes of power metal music. This is a conceptual album and because it is, we’ve decided to put the tracks in a chronological order of our fantasy stories. To do that we divided this album into 3 acts. The first talks about the sea and pirates, the second one about blood battles, and the last one about magic and fire. Please enjoy this quest and journey of both storytelling and music.”

To celebrate the full-length’s release day, the band is sharing a new lyric video for the track “Ghost of The Storm” featuring guest vocals from Henning Basse (Metalium, Fire Wind), a track about the story of Bristol Storm, a crewman who begs the gods not to die in the shipwreck and becomes the ghost of the storm. Living trapped in the wreck of the Fury, the greatest war galleon in the realms. Lonely and mad he commands the storms and the sea to wreck other ships and the drowned sailors to keep him company. So, he forms the crew of the Ghost Galleon (Throne of the Alliance 2002).”

Lyric Video – “Ghost of The Storm” – https://youtu.be/c2qP393SYcA

Dragonheart‘s new album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is available on CD at https://bit.ly/DragonheartCD

and digitally on Spotify and Apple Music.

Dragonheart members are long-time friends who play songs with medieval and fantasy atmospheres. Some members are fans of RPGs, movies, and video games. As well as medieval music, renascence music, sailors songs, Celtic songs, 80s heavy metal, and German power metal. Their new album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” features 10 tracks covering many styles of power metal, with acoustic tavern music and an orchestrated track, voiceovers, and, sound effects stitching together the narrative of the fantasy world created by the band. The work is rich in instrumentals and vocal arrangements worthy of a band with 26 years on the road. It also features guest vocals from Henning Basse (Metalium, Fire Wind) on “Ghost of The Storm” and was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström (Dream Evil, Hammerfall) along with the album cover artwork by Andreas Marschall (Kreator, King Diamond, Blind Guardian).

The album also marks the return of the band’s original vocalist, Eduardo Marques, the band explains:

“On our last album (Battle Sanctuary) we went towards a darker path, and now with “The Dragonheart´s Tale” we wanted to return to our original roots. This is an epic power metal record with medieval influences capable of putting our fans to enjoy fantasy stories. They are songs that old bards used to play telling legends in taverns of the olden days.”

Vocalist Eduardo Marques also adds:

“This new album is my Ph.D. in heavy metal. It was 19 years of waiting to return to Dragonheart and put all these musical stories together. It’s the highlight of our 26-year career and we hope we’ve made another power metal classic. We cover all varieties and influences in style. I believe that Dragonheart’s Tale has the capacity to make the fan dream again and live our sagas once more.”

Dragonheart‘s new album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is recommended for fans of Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian, and Helloween.

About: The band Dragonheart started its activities on July 10, 1997, in Curitiba, in the south of Brazil. The original line-up had the brothers Marco Caporasso (guitar and vocals), Marcelo Caporasso (drums), Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals), and Mauricio Taborda (bass and vocals). Soon the band was signed by a label and released their first album, Underdark. The album had excellent acceptance by the public and press.

With a good reception, they released their second album, “Throne of the Alliance”, the first part of a trilogy, and started to appear in 2002 as one of the main Brazilian power metal bands. The album has been mixed and mastered in Finnvox Studio in Finland and the cover art was by Andreas Marschall. And it was elected as one of the best live bands, album, and song of the year by the public and specialized vehicles in Brazil alongside Sepultura and Angra. In April, Eduardo Marques (guitar and vocals) left the band for personal reasons. At the beginning of September 2002, the entry of André Mendes (guitar and vocals) was announced.

In February 2005, the album Vengeance in Black was released, the second chapter of the trilogy, produced by the band and mixed and mastered by renowned producer Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids). The art was again in charge of the German artist Andreas Marschall. The album also left its mark on all the major media of the style and features the participation of German vocalist Olaf Senkbeil. And it yielded a tour in Brazil with the German band Grave Digger and 2 shows with the band Hammerfall and played with Nightwish, U.D.O, Epica, and many other great names of Worldwide Metal.

In 2010, drummer Marcelo Caporasso leaves the band. Then Thiago Mussi is cast on drums.

In 2015, the band ends the trilogy with its fifth album called: The Sanctuary Battle, produced by guitarist André Mendes, mixed and mastered at the Avant-Garde studio by the great Maiko Thome de Araujo. The cover was designed by Dusan Markovic. Pitch Black Records made a worldwide release with great repercussions in Brazil and abroad.

In 2019, the band invited one of the founders of Dragonheart, vocalist, and guitarist Eduardo Marques, to return to the lineup. After almost 20 years, he accepted the invitation and the challenge of composing an album that resumed the identity of the first two works.

Marco Caporasso (Vocals and Guitars), Eduardo Marques (Vocals and Guitars / Lead Guitars) e Thiago Mussi (Drums).

Finally, in 2022, the result of this journey comes true and the album “The Dragonheart’s Tale” is recorded and planned to be released on Rockshots Records in August 2023.

0 AUGURIUM Releases Brutal, Slamming Album “Unearthly Will” + Canadian Tour Dates (BC, AB, SK)

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 24, 2023

Canada’s AUGURIUM Releases Brutal, Slamming Album “Unearthly Will”

New Album “Unearthly Will” Out August 2023

+ Western Canadian Tour Dates (BC, AB, SK)

L-R – Taylor MacDonald – Drums, Logan Barlow – Lead Guitar, Yianni Pantelopoulos – Vocals, Cejay Carnochan – Rhythm Guitar, Reid Paraszczynec – Bass

Regina, SK’s brutal death metal act Augurium is now releasing their third studio release “Unearthly Will” to follow the band’s second album 2018’s “Unhallowed Ascendance” and 2017 EP “Omen”, which were stepping stones of straight-up brutal death metal, to a now more refined, darkened, carefully crafted monstrous offering. “Unearthly Will” is a culmination of core ideas that remain consistent and brutal yet experimental. It brings a dark musical aspect to lyrical themes of light and inner thought processes. The band shares their thoughts:

“This project has been an awesome journey and a welcome challenge to create over the past two years. All of our experiences have been absorbed and expressed within the walls of sound. As a tapestry is weaved together, each day as a thread towards the colossal effort that went towards this death metal release. We hope that our listeners enjoy this album for what it is, and perhaps join us when we perform in your area.”

The original line-up went to high school together and always jammed to their heroes hoping to one day do it themselves. After joining a former band and getting a taste of live shows and creating material, they decided to pull the plug and start doing what had been talked about for years prior. Thus Augurium was born with a hunger for heavy brutal death metal.

Through a few line-up changes and numerous festival shows and supporting Belphegor and Cryptopsy, Augurium has been making a name for itself across the country. Thematically, there are many different influences from philosophy, the study of different religions, fantasy franchises, video games, and mythology. They aim to write for entertainment, but also to spread a positive message, hopefully making the world a better place through music.

Augurium takes their old and new favourites within the world of heavy metal and spins them into something brutal and truly engaging. They are recommended for fans of Belphegor, Decrepit Birth, and Cannibal Corpse.

Before the album officially drops on August 25th, they have teamed up with NoCleanSinging for its full-stream premiere HERE.

“Unearthly Will” is available for pre-order at https://augurium.bandcamp.com.

“an intense, sinister journey through the depths of death metal, the album is sure to delight genre fans.” – Amplified-Mag

““Phantom Parallax” (single) with the promise of atmospheric, orchestral, bloodthirsty destruction served with a side order of slamming riffs, break neck time signature changes and breakdowns galore.” – Metal Noise

“All in all one can say that every track on “Unearthly Will” fits very well into the overall construct… there is no boredom and the overall length of 27:16 minutes proves that the dark trip is not long-winded but rather shorter, but all the more intense. The newly adopted, rather epic orchestral approach convinced me that AUGURIUM can implement both straightforward and atmospheric songwriting, I’m very excited to hear what the Canadians will be hearing in the future and I would really like to experience the whole thing live!” – PowerMetal.de

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 24, 2023

VORTEX Unleashes New Video “The Future Remains In Oblivion” (Directed by Chris Kells of The Agonist)

New Album “The Future Remains In Oblivion” Out Now!

Canadian Tour Dates (QC, ON, NB, PEI)

Rimouski, Quebec’s Vortex has teamed up with Chris Kells of The Agonist to direct a new visual treat of an apocalyptic world where mankind must fight for their individual survival. The music video is for the title track from their latest album “The Future Remains In Oblivion” released this past June. It is one of the band’s favourite songs off the full-length along with being the most intricate.

““The Future Remains In Oblivion” (title track) has the most complex structure of the album, it may take a few listens to get into, but it’s a song that will stick over time. It is based around the orchestra and some technical playing and vocals; it is challenging to play live, and we get a kick out of nailing it.” adds the band.

The music video can be seen and heard via its premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

Vortex‘s third epic concept album is set to aggressive and beautiful orchestral melodic death metal with hints of black metal. Each song on “The Future Remains In Oblivion” is one chapter in their well-written sci-fi tale and there is a build-up in intensity and emotion that goes along with the storyline and the lyrics as you traverse the album. They share their thoughts:

“This is an orchestral death metal album with plenty of heavy riffing and melodies, technical vocals, and epic soloing. Some of the songs are riff-oriented and some others had the orchestra and melodies written before the drums and the guitars. We wrote all the lyrics before the music to make sure that it would fit the feel and emotion of each song/part of the story. When we start writing a song, we know exactly what feeling and emotion we are aiming at, it’s a good way to push ourselves creatively and write thoughtful music.”

Those familiar with the previous albums will note that they were more on the ambient/dramatic side. The new album’s songs are still melodic/orchestral but much more aggressive and some of them have a black metal influence. Vortex’s goal was to create songs that would have a greater impact on their live shows, and these aggressive songs work well live. They feel the album is a good combination of aggression/melody, and ugliness/beauty.

Creativity and storytelling are the key tenets of Vortex. Their masterful lyric writing is equally matched with their prowess in devising riffs, and orchestrations. They will transport the listener into a new world and are recommended for fans of Lorna Shore, Dimmu Borgir, and Fleshgod Apocalypse.

The band will also be touring from the months of September to January performing across Quebec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and PEI where they will be joined by Aeternam, Serene Dark, Strigampire (2023 Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champions), and Beyond Fiction on select dates.

“The song’s (The Walls) multi-faceted nature is further revealed in harrowing and haughty growls, jolting chords, and fiery sunbursts of sound, as well as through a swirling melodic guitar solo that spectacularly sends the song into the stratosphere. The song’s finale is itself a full-power spectacle that really gets the adrenaline surging.” – No Clean Singing

“If there’s anything that Vortex nails, it’s drama. Album highlight and banger track “First Blood” is simply massive” – Angry Metal Guy

“For some music is pure escapism but does that still hold true when bands like Canadian Melodic Death Metal monster Vortex whisk the would be listener into a bleak world that is recovering from a devastating cataclysm? Scenes of war and survival are punctuated with harrowing strings, technical riffs, and guttural and Black Metal inspired vocals as the band weave cinematic stories and orchestral touches into their third concept album “The Future Remains In Oblivion”” – Metal Noise

“the title-track The Future Remains In Oblivion, a song that will blow your mind with its insane wall of sounds, background orchestrations, epic passages, striking riffs and solos, and visceral yet intricate drums, resulting in one of the most breathtaking moments of the entire album.” – The Headbanging Moose

“Melodic death, a bit technical and prog” – Mosh Pit Radio WORT 89.9FM (Madison, WI)

“The Future Remains In Oblivion est un disque coloré, aux mélodies chaleureuses et aux superbes guitares.
“The Future Remains In Oblivion is a colorful record, with warm melodies and superb guitars.” – Music Waves

“The breakdowns are huge in places. There are big moments where the influences pour through, but are blended with giant choral arrangements and symphonics. It’s absolutely like something out of a Lord of the Rings movie. I love the melodies, the harmonics, and the guitar solos. This is absolutely an album which ought to be part of your listening rotation this month. I was genuinely impressed with quite a bit of the entire album. I think that when you look at this album, the absolute banger of the title tack is 100% worth several spins with the blackened guitar riffs and tremendous choral arrangements.” – Metal Epidemic

“The songs you’ll find on this upcoming release are aggressive, but Vortex also has a strong melodic approach and lots of orchestrations combined with guttural, black metal vocals and diverse guitar playing that alternates between howling snippets and beautiful, emotional riffs. Recommended for fans of Shadow of Intent, Septicflesh, and Dimmu Borgir.” – RTMB Music
