0 Get Ready To “Bounce” w/ YESTERDAY’S HERO New Music Video For Debut Album “Ways To Hate”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 15, 2023

Get Ready To “Bounce” w/ YESTERDAY’S HERO New Music Video For Debut Album “Ways To Hate”

Releasing their debut album “Ways To Hate” this past November, Ohio alternative metal quintet Yesterday’s Hero is ready to get fans to “Bounce” with their latest music video in support of the record. The band comments on the track:

“This is one of the first riffs and like its name, it bounced. The lyrics are at the point of the break up that nothing more matters. “Your words are like mush and you say too much to me”. It is simply time to Bounce.”

Watch “Bounce” via its video premiere on V13.net HERE.

Featuring seven tracks, Yesterday’s Hero‘s first full-length “Ways To Hate” takes listeners through the emotions of a struggling bleeding heart at the end of a tumultuous relationship. Musically, it’s a fusion of high-energy grooves with timeless melodies.

“‘Ways To Hate’ features previous re-recorded tracks from their 2021 debut EP “Killing Me” along with a few new songs such as “What I Needed”, “Bounce” and the title track “Ways To Hate” to complete the seven-song album that we want to get your blood pumping and moshing in the pit. We pride ourselves on using raw gritty tube amps, no backing tracks or plug-ins. There is no need for a laptop as we intentionally step back from today’s norm. What hear on the record is what you’ll hear live, note for note.” adds the band.

In a digital age of singles, Yesterday’s Hero went analog for this record as they would like those listening to experience each track finishing and ready for the next. The tracklisting was arranged in an order specifically to create a feel of an album experience, not just one single.

“We have simple intentions along with catchy riffs with relatable lyrics. We want to give music fans a nostalgic taste for our music experience with a bit of new raw live sound.” adds the band.

Having shared the stage with bands such as Escape the Fate, Powerman5000, The Convalescence, and Gemini Syndrome, among many others, Yesterday’s Hero is recommended for fans of Chevelle, Rise Against, Killswitch Engage, Godsmack, and Seether.

Released on November 24, 2023, “Ways To Hate” is available on all digital platforms at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/yesterdayshero/ways-to-hate and https://yesterdayshero.bandcamp.com (CD/digital).

“This is a great album…. they all sound awesome, being the perfect blend of the early 2000s alt-metal sound and a more modern take, almost bordering on Phil Campbell at times. And, as similar as it all was, I would happily take a lot more of it. Seven tracks just wasn’t enough for me! It sounds great and I think these guys are going to be a big deal soon, if this album is anything to go off!” – Overtone Magazine

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 14, 2023

Canadian Thrashers TRISKELYON Re-Signs With Moribund Records For Two More Albums!

Led by guitarist and band founder Geoff Waye, Canadian thrashers Triskelyon announces they have re-signed with Moribund Records for two more albums to follow their latest second full-length “Artificial Insanity” (2023) and debut “Downfall” (2022) also released on the label.

Waye comments:

“I am pleased to announce that you will all be in for much more thrash metal madness for more albums on the Moribund label. Work has already begun on the third album, which will come out later in 2024! Thanks to Odin and everyone are Moribund for their ongoing support and belief in the Triskelyon mission.”

We feel fortunate to be in a position to bring this awesome band’s music to the people and fans, and we look forward to another 2 incredible 80’s power / thrash metal style albums filled with all things Modern in Heavy Metal for 2024! Let the Thrash Metal Insanity Reign Forth!”

Triskelyon’s latest album “Artificial Insanity” (mixed and mastered by Michael Small (Winterhearth, Triskelyon, Artach)) was released this past September and features guests from the crème de le crème of the Canadian metal scene to create a varied album that delivers both pure thrash metal classics, hints of blackened melodic thrash, and enough power metal to bring one back to the 1980s. The full-length showcases the vocal talents of Amanda Jackman (Category VI), Armin Kamal (Infrared), Cara McCutchen (Mortillery, Naitaka), Dale Drew (Sea Dogs), Des Mason, Ellim, Pete Healey, Raúl Álvarez (Dark Order-Aus.) and Tim Tymo (Tymo). Drum duties on the record are shared between Raul Marques (Burning Torment) and Alexander Raykov (Antreib), while Dwayne Pike, Keith Jackman (Category VI), and Darrin Pope were conscripted on bass.

“While I composed all the music and penned the lyrics, the realization for “ARTIFICIAL INSANITY” became a reality thanks to the collaboration with a myriad of talented guests featured on the album. I would like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to every one of them for their incredible contributions, and I hope for the possibility of working together again in the future.” adds Waye.

“It’s refreshing, for once, to discover a thrash band that aren’t geared towards utter devastation but, rather, crafting a record that an audience can simply put on and vibe to. With more than forty-five minutes to work with, the band still stuck to their guns and applied songwriting that saw every minute feel earned and needed for what their performance entailed.” – The Razor’s Edge

“Waye has shown he can write in any metal style and the guys he got together to perform are world class. The production is pretty big too so, if you like Megadeth, Agent Steel, Exodus, Overkill, etc. then there will be something on here that you like. Me? I liked it all! Hopefully, Canadian metal will be taken a bit more seriously with this release.” – My Global Mind

“classical Thrash Metal tracks and many 80s vibes.” – Metal-Temple

Wacken Metal Battle Canada Champs STRIGAMPIRE Now Streaming Immersive Death Metal Album “All To Dominate”

New Album “All To Dominate” Out Dec 15th, 2023

Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy)

L-R – (Back row) James Foster / Drums – BadGuy P / Bass (Front row) – Steve DC / Vocals – Willy Thousand / Guitars – Johnny Dead / Guitars

Canada’s national Wacken Metal Battle champs Strigampire are proud to be streaming their latest album “All To Dominate”, which they declare is the best production they’ve ever done. The album skillfully blends various musical elements, ranging from black/death metal to heavy metal and rock, offering a rich and diverse sonic experience. Vocalist Steve DC shares his thoughts on the album:

“The album tackles various themes such as personal struggles, global issues like economic inequalities and social injustices. I strive to write introspective lyrics, expressing emotions like sadness, frustration, and anger, but also hope and determination. With this album, we aim to provide an immersive listening experience for our fans. We want to take them on a journey through the various songs on the album, addressing diverse themes and emotions.”

“All To Dominate” contains powerful guitar moments, crazy solos, and impactful rhythms that demonstrate undeniable mastery of the instruments. However, the melodic and melancholic sections serve as a reminder that emotion remains at the core of each composition. This balance between technical expertise and emotional depth creates an intense and emotionally charged musical experience.

Strigampire has an old-school mindset when it comes to the track layout, and considers an album as a complete work that should be listened to from start to finish. “All To Dominate” was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy), and the album artwork was done by Dan “Dotel” Turcotte. It is recommended for fans of Arch Enemy, Children Of Bodom, At The Gates, and Cradle Of Filth.

“All To Dominate” is due out on December 15, 2023, and can be heard in full via its album stream premiere on Decibel Magazine HERE.

“Feverishly jittery riffing, a booming low-end pulse, and bestial snarls build anticipation for what’s to come, and what comes is a rushing phalanx of jolting grooves, slashing and searing chords, riotously swirling leads, and scorch-the-earth vocals. The song (Sold Our Soul) hammers the pulse, and there’s abundant devilry in it too, as well as near-sung gang yells, tumbling percussive fills, deliriously exultant soloing that soars to screaming heights — and a break for a beer. But there’s a kind of mystical melodic line that also slithers through the heavy metal exultation until the soloing rockets it high.” – NoCleanSinging

“Huit albums métal à découvrir en décembre…. Strigampire All To Dominate” – Thorium Magazine

“For a band hovering in the darker sides of metal, the songs are surprisingly upbeat. It’s often the vocals that sound the darkest and more extreme—here we have a cross between melodic death growls and black metal screeches. The songs are fast and melodic, and I found it very hard to sit still while listening to them as they all, without exception, just get you going —prepare for intense headbanging, air guitaring, maybe trying to sing along, or at the very least get the foot tapping. My favourite song is “Sold Our Soul”; the beginning always makes me stop whatever I’m doing, and then it’s just headbanging frenzy. The songs have kind of a European power metal energy to them: fast (I’ve said that), heavy, pounding, and very catchy. If they used cleaner vocals, I wouldn’t be surprised if heavy/power metallers who don’t mind harsher, rougher music would get into this, though I would advise the band not to try that—the vocal style is a perfect match for their music. The album ends with a cover of AC/DC’s “T.N.T.”, probably my second favourite (as of this writing) as it is an excellent cover of that classic song. The vocals here are different, a good hybrid of the harsh style and that of Bon Scott’s—definitely interesting, and the band’s rendition of the song is fucking excellent. I think Bon Scott would approve… Fucking good stuff, and no wonder they won that Wacken contest with such quality material. 4.75/5″ – The Metal Crypt

0 Rockshots Records – ONELEGMAN Shares New Music Video “Steric Hindrance” Off Latest Album “Event Horizon”

  • December 13, 2023
  • by Asher

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 13, 2023

ONELEGMAN Shares New Music Video “Steric Hindrance” Off Latest Album “Event Horizon”

Releasing their latest album “Event Horizon” on Rockshots Records in October 2022, Italian proggers ONELEGMAN are sharing their new music video for the track “Steric Hindrance”. The band explains in their own words:

“Steric Hindrance” is something we have never done before. We explored electronic music with a big rock chorus. Something Depeche Mode could be proud of. In science, the steric hindrance is the force that keeps the atoms within the same molecule allowing matter and life to exist. It’s a bond impossible to break. Just like the one between lovers at the end of a relationship.”

Watch the video for “Steric Hindrance” at https://youtu.be/aJgJU6Sp4xk

The third full-length from the trio, “Event Horizon” is ONELEGMAN’s most peculiar release to follow a new concept for each one of its tracks; to create a mosaic with sounds, lyrics, and graphics to show the listener the direction of their journey. The band explains in further detail:

“‘Event Horizon’ is a journey. A journey in the human intimate, sometimes in the unconscious, exploring the universe to the limit of possible knowledge and consciousness. The research for new worlds, the chaos theory, the last days of a star’s life, the direction of time, entropy, the fourth dimension that is gravity, love as an elementary form of existence, existence as a mere force of attraction, and repulsion between electrons, existence as creatures of God or as sons of physics and chemistry. All different shapes of life itself, like the music we composed: from frenzy guitar riffs to electro-rock ambient. Different musical styles that link each other through words and music.”

It is not the band’s intention to translate the works of scientists such as Greene, Rovelli, Bertone, Hawking, Jim Al-Khalili, and Primo Levi into music, but to take inspiration from their treatises, terminologies, and thoughts to build cosmic and quantum images where they search for the true human essence, perhaps where life is born.

ONELEGMAN is recommended for fans of Devin Townsend, Faith No More, and Alice In Chains.

About:

ONELEGMAN was formed in 2003 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. They introduced themselves to the world with their 2007 self-produced EP. In 2011, they collaborated with Dysfunction Production, an Italian team of producers who worked with Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), Tue Madsen (Meshuggah), Logan Mader (Machine Head), and Dan Korneff (Paramore), Bjorn Strid (Soilwork) among the others to produce their debut album “The Crack”.

In 2015, they released their sophomore full-length “DO YOU REALLY THINK THIS WORLD WAS MADE FOR YOU?”. The record was a more rock-oriented, dynamic, orchestral concept album about people experiencing, living, and interpreting the theme of change through a tragedy that leaves a mark on their lives forever. It was dedicated to those affected by the earthquakes that struck the Emilia-Romagna region in Northern Italy in May 2012.

Supporting their catalogue with tours across Italy and sharing the stage with bands like HATEBREED, WOLFMOTHER, and LACUNA COIL among many others, ONELEGMAN entered the studio in 2019 to create their third album, “Evecatalognt Horizon” released in October 2022.

Gearing up for their hometown Vancouver album launch show on Friday, December 15th at Wise Hall (info), Canadian thrashers Hyperia have teamed up with local brewer Main Street Brewing Co. for their signature beer “Hybeeria Ouroboros Lager”, which will be exclusively available at their upcoming shows and tour dates. The band explains further.

“4 years ago in late 2019, we paired up with New Level Brewing in Calgary to release the first Hybeeria for our “Asylum Music Video Premiere”. It received a great reception and we sold out within the first hour of the premiere show. Since then, we have been wanting to do a Hybeeria 2.0 but between the Covid years and other factors, we haven’t been able to pull it off.

We are now super excited to release the follow-up “Hybeeria Ouroboros Lager” (Main Street Brewing Co.) It will be available at our album release show on December 15 at The Wise Hall, and if all goes well we will continue. This lager is a super smooth and easy-drinking beer that gets you ready to mosh. Try a few yourselves at The Wise Hall on December 15th!”

In addition to their signature beer, Hyperia will also have available their recently announced “Deathbringer Hot Sauce” created by newly recruited drummer Aaron Bell and a co-worker of his and their hot sauce company “The Scoville Scoundrels”. Bell explains further:

“I grew five plants three years ago with mild success. The next year I saw that AJ had moved into an apartment with a south-facing balcony garden and my gears started turning in his head. The next year AJ and I did five plants, but each plant got three yields and we made about 16 mason jars, then 2023 rolled around, and decided we should go big! We bought around 40 pepper plants with about six different types of peppers, and it was so hard to keep up, in fact, we were just getting warmed up and had a lot more to bottle.

This specific SAUCE for Hyperia, which is only a limited run, but can be duplicated consists of ghost pepper, Trinidad, scorpion, Orange, habanero, Carolina, reaper, local vinegar, garlic, honey, onion, organic papaya, organic pineapple, organic blood, orange, organic, grapefruit, organic, lime, and lemon.”

Get ready to have your face blown off with the latest thrash attack from Canada’s Hyperia. Their third full-length “The Serpent’s Cycle”, was just unleashed on November 17th, and it marks a new era for them boasting some of the most aggressive thrash metal they’ve ever written, complimented with plenty of melodic vocals and guitar work. It consists of everything Hyperia stands for shred, speed, and intricacy and it will definitely catch the attention of musicians and non-musicians alike. Hyperia shares their excitement for the release:

“This is the first album we’ve released that isn’t much of a concept album like our first two. This album deals with different lyrical ideas such as the human condition, philosophy, psychology, partying, and much more. Musically this album is insanely aggressive, technical, and fast. We have some of the fastest songs we’ve ever written on this album and during recording, we were all definitely pushed to, and sometimes past, our limits.”

To Hyperia, “The Serpent’s Cycle” is the pinnacle so far of their creativity and finesse. They’ve taken familiar elements they’ve used before, such as menacing thrash riffs and pretty melodies and by presenting a seamless interaction between each member of the band, their signature sound and furious stage presence is something to be admired.

The eleven-track album is much more polished than its predecessors and continues the same writing process, the majority of the songwriting is done by guitarist Colin Ryley but everyone gives input and transforms the songs into what they are in the end. Ryley also mixed the album, while Mika Jussila mastered it and the album art was done by Caitlin Delaplace.

Wailing vocals, shredding guitars, and fast, heavy drums await in “The Serpent’s Cycle”, which is recommended for fans of Lost Society, Exmortus, and Municipal Waste.

“The Serpent’s Cycle” was released on November 17, 2023, and is available for at https://hyperiametal.bandcamp.com, Spotify.

“Hyperia Make Bolder, Darker Thrashier Moves with New Album The Serpent’s Cycle” – Decibel Magazine

“Ten original tracks of intense, metallic fury are delivered with crisp precision, swathed by Colin Ryley’s dextrous lead work and spearheaded by some savage, unrelenting vocals from Marlee Ryley.” – Power Play Magazine UK

“Consistently taking that next step in establishing their own brand of melodic thrash/death with progressive tendencies, Hyperia through The Serpent’s Cycle should continue to make a bigger footprint beyond Canadian borders into international acclaim and appeal. Bang thy heads, grab your favorite denim jacket or bullet belt/studded arm band attire and get ready to slam hard to these tracks – it will leave you battered and bruised the right way.” – Dead Rhetoric

“an album which is melodic, fast, and aggressive but never sacrifices any of its integrity to be en vogue. 8/10” – Metal Digest

“Hyperia do everything right. The plate rocks tremendously, the neck vertebrae hurt and you can hardly get this stupid grin out to your face. Only good thrash can do that.” – Art Noir

“Without a doubt, we have a thrash highlight from an up-and-coming Canadian band. Where I have hope, they may soon land a big deal and very soon cause the boards to burst in our part of the world. At the end of the year, Hyperia managed to create a really sophisticated thrash hit that consistently puts the competition in their place. Respect! 9.6/10” – Zephyrs-Odem

“It’s a real pleasure witnessing the evolution of Hyperia through the years, carving their names in the Canadian scene and becoming one of the driving forces of the current Thrash Metal environment, with The Serpent’s Cycle definitely taking the band to new heights. ” – The Headbanging Moose

“The band sound absolutely blistering with the lead guitar work at a very impressive level while Marlee puts in her best vocal performance to date with unhinged screams and demonic snarls mixed in with some more melodic vocals which remain aggressive and full of that unbeatable thrash attitude. “The Serpent’s Cycle” is a great thrash record which retains its old school sound whilst incorporating a melodic sensibility without diluting the aggression. Definitely the strongest material the band have released to date and a big step up for the band. Another great thrash release in what has been a very strong year for the genre.” – Ever Metal

“A consistent piece of work, that thrashes, bites and grabs your attention with power, hardness and a melodic under current. If you like hard hitting melodic thrash, then ‘ The Serpent’s Cycle ‘ is one to look out for. All through this record there are precise rhythm and lead guitars, hammering drums, the bass rumbling along in all the right places. The musicianship is excellent and Marlee Ryley’s vocals are brutal. The production is clear, the guitars are up front, maybe I would personally like clearer vocals, but maybe hard to have good intonation when screaming and growling. Having listened to this album more than a few times now, it is definitely a grower, these four are tight, the serpents cycle only gets better with every listen .” – The Metal Pit

0 DEORBIT (ft. members Northless, Ara) Offer Free Download of Instrumental Prog Psych Doom Album “Retrogradient”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 8, 2023

DEORBIT (ft. members Northless, Ara) Offer Free Download of Instrumental Prog Psych Doom Album “Retrogradient”

Unveiling their debut album “Retrogradient” this past November, Milwaukee, USA’s Deorbit (ft. members Northless, Ara) offers up depictions of surreal aspects from the mind of guitarist Jerry Hauppa with each track merging cold aspects of the expanding universe with the organic familiarity of
human understanding.

“Given that there are no lyrics, the music intends to tell the story of each track while allowing room for the listener to interpret the concepts,” adds Hauppa.

An instrumental amalgamation of influences from extreme metal, doom, psychedelic, and progressive, “Retrogradient” is a musical concept with a visual in mind of where our solar system is laid out as a double-helix system, showing the relationship between both the organic and inorganic elements spawned during the creation of the universe. Each track guides you through the realms of the universe and the depths of human understanding.

Hauppa explains the album in further detail:

“‘Retrogradient’ is based on Carl Sagan’s quote: “The cosmos is within us. We are made of star stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself”. The album ebbs and flows through a planetary adventure, from the origins of humanity during the time of the Big Bang, to the depths of the molten core, onwards to the atmosphere, and everything in between through a natural lens and one that is more surreal.”

Mixed by Dylan Patterson, mastered by Jeff Wojtysiak, and the artwork done by James Becker, Deorbit invites listeners to embark on an unparalleled sonic journey that challenges the boundaries of conventional music. “Retrogradient” seamlessly balances heaviness and clarity, offering complex musicality without compromising the significance of songwriting.

Expanding to reach as many fans across the universe, Deorbit is excited to share “Retrogradient” as a completely FREE download via their Bandcamp – https://deorbitmke.bandcamp.com/album/retrogradient

“The piece (Stratolith) incorporates elements of soulful doom, prog, and technical metal with a strong emphasis on melodic lines that serve as a kind of vehicle for this bold interstellar journey. Without words, they conjure a soundscape that simply spells adventure.” – Doomed and Stoned

“Milwaukee instrumental band with a kind of proggy post metal grungy/stonerish doom sound.” – The Moshpit – WORT 89.9 FM (Madison, WI)

“Instrumental, progressive, and technical metal fans take note” – The Prog Space

““Perihelion” – is the term for the point in Earth’s orbit when it is closest to the sun, and Deorbit translates this into the most aggressive track on the new album. Fans of challenging, uplifting artists such as Torche, Intronaut, and Voivod will love Deorbit. With dramatic movements and expert instrumentation, the bands music not only takes you on an other-worldly journey, but exploring the contemplative innerspaces you have as well.” – Ghost Cult Magazine

“Retrogradient is an auditory adventure and a cosmic voyage that challenges the boundaries of conventional music, inviting enthusiasts to embark on a journey through the vast realms of the universe and the depths of human understanding.” – Amplify The Noise

““Each track on “Retrogradient” is an artistic depiction of surreal aspects, aiming to merge the cold, expansive nature of the universe with the warmth of human understanding. Without the use of lyrics, Deorbit’s music tells a unique story within each composition, allowing listeners the freedom to interpret the profound concepts presented… This is an excellent debut album… The tunes are fucking massive and the concept a fun one to play with in the imagination. Clearly the guys can play… The entirely arbitrary Patented Dark Juan Blood Splat Rating System awards Deorbit 8/10 for what is a superb debut which is bursting with potential and great music…” 8/10 – Ever Metal

“This is a distinctly heavy set affair throughout, but the defining aspect of the album as a whole can be summarized in the word motion. We get energetic surges or drop downs in tempo by the drummer. The guitars may slow down or speed up independent of what the rhythm section are doing, and alterations from rhythm based riffs to flowing riff textures and back are pulled off in a fluid and seamless manner. What I presume is a dulcimer may chime in with some world music details beneath at times too, and in between all of this the songs themselves may shift between thrash and even a bit of extreme metal in overall direction just as much as stepping down to more traditional heavy metal or doom metal territories. With occasional side steps into gentler and more atmospheric laden territories. If a heavy set variety of progressive metal where a just about constant and fluid motion and movement are key features strikes you as an interesting manner in which to explore this style of music, this is an album to take note of.” – Progressor.net

“No words will be spoken in this interstellar journey as rich as tortuous, with generous melodies and harmonies behind a certain sense of narration. Retrogradient is revealed as an album with finely composed titles, blowing hot and cold, sometimes epic, sometimes more contemplative, in short not to let go and then to interpret as he pleases. Fasten your belts !” – Eklektik Rock

Strap on your bullet belts and gird up your loins as American power metal stalwarts, Judicator, blaze a trail with their latest offering, the thunderous EP “I Am The Void”. After eleven years of unwavering dedication, numerous time zones, and resilient camaraderie, Judicator emerges once again, wielding a sonic sword that pierces the very fabric of the human experience. The band comments:

“‘I am the Void’ will scratch the itch of two different kinds of Judicator fans. Those who like the new direction of Judicator will enjoy the title track, while those who prefer our older “Cordisco-era” catalog will like “The Curse of Feanor.” There’s something in this EP for everyone.”

Having traversed a discography that spans a decade, Judicator‘s journey has been marked by releases such as “King of Rome”, “The Last Emperor”, and “Let There Be Nothing”. The artwork, a crucial visual counterpart to their sonic tapestry, is once again crafted by the talented Marc Whisnant, known for his work on “The Last Emperor” and “The Majesty of Decay’”. The EP was produced by John Yelland, mixed by Carlos Alvarez at Dirty Viking Audio, and mastered by Brett Caldas-Lima at Tower Studio; the artwork was done by Marc Whisnant.

Lyrically, Judicator continues their exploration of profound themes, grappling with subjects as weighty as cancer, relationships, and mortality. A common thread weaves through all their albums—an unwavering commitment to delving into the human heart and condition. “I Am The Void” is recommended for fans of Iron Savior, Helion Prime, and Blind Guardian.

“I Am The Void” is now available as of December 8th, 2023, at https://judicatormetal.bandcamp.com/ and digital at https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/judicator/i-am-the-void.

“The Majesty of Decay is simply one of the best power metal albums released in the last few years, and potentially, my favorite Judicator yet.” – Angry Metal Guy

“This album is guaranteed that fans of Judicator will be talking about it for years to come. There are those which will utterly hate this album as a release that has gone too far in one direction. However, this is a gamble which has paid off and ‘The Majesty of Decay’ is not only arguably one of the best albums released this year, but also debatably the best album that Judicator have ever released.” – Metal Digest

“[Judicator is] unmatched when it comes to delivering an illuminating experience that is both energized and heartfelt.” — GBHBL

“Judicator is something new, but still something excellent. And we sing along, with open shirts and fists pointing to the sky.” — Devilution

0 STRATUZ Becomes Venezuela’s Most Successful Death Doom Metal Band of 2023 w/ Four Award Wins At “Premios Metal Hecho en Venezuela”

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – December 7, 2023

STRATUZ Becomes Venezuela’s Most Successful Death Doom Metal Band of 2023 w/ Four Award Wins At “Premios Metal Hecho en Venezuela”

New Album “Osculum Pacis” Out Now!

L-R – Leonardo Rangel (Bass), Geronimo Egea (Guitar), Franklin Berroteran (Vocals, Keyboard), Diego Cabrujas (Drums)

Closing out a fruitful 2023, Stratuz turned out to be the most awarded band of the third edition of “Premios Metal Hecho en Venezuela”, with four award wins, “Best Extreme Band“, “Best Album” for Osculum Pacis, “Best Extreme Vocals” for Franklin Berroterán, and “Best Guitarist” for Gerónimo Egea. These awards recognize the best rock and metal music made in Venezuela in 19 categories.

Undoubtedly, 2023 has been Stratuz’s year, setting precedents and breaking paradigms. The momentum of their album “Osculum Pacis” was named among the best albums of 2022 in more than 20 countries; from there, Stratuz became the first extreme metal band to perform at the Centro Cultural de Arte Moderno with a historic concert on the 17th anniversary of Cresta Metalica Producciones, combining symphonic elements with a live string and choral ensemble. Against all odds, they were nominated for the Pepsi Music Awards, capitalizing on that nomination with a high level of communication work, and ended up winning in the categories “Best Rock Artist” and “Best Rock Album“.

Hailing from Caracas, with almost 40 years of experience and pioneers of extreme metal in the country, Stratuz managed to beat other mainstream bands, which had more media and advertising exposure. Their surprise entry in the Pepsi Music Awards 2023, showed a very positive change in the perception of the content of the record productions, both by the voting members of the Pepsi Music Academy as well as the general public.

In late October, they headlined the Wacken Metal Battle Venezuela, organized by Cresta Metálica Producciones, as a guest band, supporting the bands that competed.

This same year, Stratuz signed with the Wormholedeath record label for the physical distribution of the CD “Osculum Pacis” throughout Europe and America, as well as a Japanese edition.

Osculum Pacis reached the first position in the Jacquin Ravens Top 50 Metal of 2022 and 2023 on the US radio station 99WNRR.

The album “Osculum Pacis” is available on CD / Digital on Stratuzofficial.bandcamp.com and Spotify.

“The track (Left) begins with grim, quiet strumming and then is ignited with a glowing melody pronounced by the electric piano. Gothic vocals follow, tortured with the thought, “We are alone!” As the song develops, it asks of us, “Is today one day more or one day less in your dreams?” Osculum Pacis is a mighty struggle between light and darkness, that fans of Paradise Lost and Type O Negative should take a fond liking to.” – Doomed and Stoned

“the fathers of Venezuelan death/doom” – Femforgacs

“For me this material is the best of the Latin scene of 2022” (Osculum Pacis) – Metallerium

“Osculum Pacis is a brutally artistic journey with Stratuz, it loudly demonstrates their abilities and vision, which they stayed true to throughout all the changes and dynamic shifts that we’ve been through on this sonic trip. I loved how packed is it with pure emotions of anger, melancholy, and growing brutality.” – ROCK ERA MAGAZINE

“Fans of doom metal, death metal – even black metal, can find something to appreciate with “Osculum Pacis”. For metalheads who like their metal dark and more mature with its themes, this is a great release to sink your teeth into.” – Team Brutal

It is an album, a record that can captivate anyone who loves music, both for its lyrical content and for its musical enrichment within rock in different trends and trends, along with orchestral arrangements that surround you. Without a doubt, a musical production for export.” – Cresta Metalica
