“Am I Invisible and is a sonic soiree in waiting for those who like their metal I the neighbourhood of early Machine Head, post-Roots Sepultura, Lamb of God and Fear Factory resplendent with big guitars, bigger grooves and the biggest choruses.” – Decibel Magazine

“… the song (“How Strong You Are”) includes an anthemic and inspirational chorus, where the vocals rise into impassioned singing. But don’t expect music that feels like it’s seeing the world through rose-colored glasses. The music itself puts up with no excuses, but instead punches fast and damned hard. Backed by battering percussion and thundering basslines, the song includes fiery, writhing riffage and hard-slugging, high-howling hardcore fury. It does soar in the catchy chorus, but even there the vocals also rabidly snarl, and the band always return to pile-driving the listener’s neck, punctuated by some start-stop bursts of high-speed jackhammering and gruesomely growled words. On top of all that, the song includes a fluidly slithering and swirling guitar that itself spirals high, and a finale in which the vocals become truly harsh and scarring while the band inflict one last brute-force beating.” – NoCleanSinging

““Am I Invisible” is a masterclass in modern death metal, balancing technical prowess with emotional depth. BORNBROKEN has crafted an album that not only delivers in terms of heaviness but also resonates on a personal level. The mix of aggressive instrumentation and introspective themes makes this a standout release in 2024, marking the band as a force to be reckoned with in the genre. 8/10″ – Metal Temple

“Man, oh man…..I don’t know if it’s in the water or the politics. But keep it’s got the Canadians angry and making some dope ass death metal. I never knew of this band before this review….but I will never forget them and they are certainly locked in on my playlist material. Released in September, the Album “Am I Invisible” is a knife to the knee stabbing of an album. Every single track, I mean everyone, is a slammer. No complaints from this metal head at all. Powerfully riffs, evil melodies, godly break downs, heavenly solos and vocals that are rage re-incarnate. The title track music video reflects the exact same energy as the album. Deep, symbolic, energetic and metal as hell itself. Don’t sleep on BornBroken and give them a taste test, eh!?!?” – Keeper Magazine

“an aggression fuelled, raging firestorm of fierce savagery, ‘Am I Invisible’ is a brutal onslaught of devastating thrash metal. 10.10 – Metal Gods TV

“Am I Invisible is an exceptional addition to BornBroken’s discography. It’s a brutal, soul-baring album that blends aggression with melody in a way that feels fresh and relevant. For fans of metal that isn’t afraid to confront its own vulnerability while maintaining a fierce edge, Am I Invisible is a must-listen. BornBroken is a band on the rise, and this album proves they are not to be ignored.” – Jace Media Music

““Am I Invisible” by BornBroken is a masterful exploration of the human experience. Its blend of aggressive metal with deeply personal themes creates an album that is both thought-provoking and sonically impressive.” – Din Intunerec

“BORNBROKEN, a name to remember which risks making a lot of noise with this monstrous and devastating new album from Neo Death Thrash groove with a little touch of subtlety.” – OdyMetal

“a solid slab of metal with no time for melodic interludes and once it gets on course, they do not deviate one iota. It’s this blinker on approach makes the album as strong as it is… a powerful statement of intent.- Metal Epidemic

“Am I Invisible is a narrative that invites one to reflect on their own experiences. Each track, from the overwhelming stress of “7 Mondays” to the introspective nature of “Will You Remember,” is a chapter in a broader story about the highs and lows of life. BornBroken’s dedication to their craft is evident. They’ve poured their hearts into this album and it shows in the intensity of their performances and the authenticity of their lyrics. It’s an exceptional and bold exploration of the struggles we all face and is music that speaks to the heart of the human experience while delivering relentless metal energy.” – Amplify The Noise

=============================================

“Although they hail from the famously pleasant country of Canada, BornBroken, might be the heaviest and angriest thing we’ve heard from their parts in a long time. With no shortage of punishing riffs, brutal drumming, and vicious vocals that spit lyrics to change the world, BornBroken’s sophomore album ,The Years of Hard Truths And Little Lies, is worth pre-ordering before it’s due out May 18th.” – Metal Injection (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“Canadian unit BornBroken are releasing The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…, a raging collection of songs inspired by what the band feel is a reality that’s getting worse. We’ll let the band speak on that aspect, but it’s not controversial to confirm that the songs on The Years of Harsh Truths are brutal and varied enough to appeal to fans of Lamb of God, Sepultura and even groove legends Pantera and Exhorder. ” – Decibel Magazine (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“Apocalyptic thrashcore bunch BornBroken wear their political bent on their sleeves. From ‘The Years of Hard Truths And Little Lies’ Bansky-esque artwork to on-the-nose, ‘Take that politics!’ sentiment of its title, their anti-establishment sentiment is layered on thick. It’s hard to argue with their anger, in fairness. Tackling everything from inequality to government conspiracies, the Canadian band’s fury is aimed in all the right directions….BornBroken’s unrelenting pace is proof that, even in the supposedly docile nation of Canada, there’s still plenty to rally against in 2018.” – Metal Hammer (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“Good sweet Mary Poppins, what the hell is in the water in Montreal?! No amount of poutine will silence the outright bonkers heavy that BornBroken have cooking for you. No amount of smoked meats will halt their vicious onslaught of pounding rhythm and vocal cord shredding, headbang demanding, heartwarming metal.” – Metal Rules (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“Un retour percutant qui plaira aux fans de Lamb of God, DevilDriver.” – Voir (Montreal Weekly) (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“Un groupe énergique qui livre la marchandise! Alors quand on m’a proposé de faire la critique de leur nouvel album, je vous laisse deviner quel fut mon engouement à découvrir ce nouvel opus! Une douce brutalité bien musicale comme je les aime. Un album avec une âme, et qui en profite pour prendre possession de la nôtre au passage durant ces trop courtes 40 minutes!…Ma note, un SOLIDE 9 sur 10 largement mérité!” – Metal Universe (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“I can tell you right from the start, these guys are heavy as hell. Big guitar riffs, heavy drums, chugging bass lines, and those deep, guttural screams of the lead singer show this band know exactly what they want and how they will take it. The title track features some excellent guitar work along with the quick metal riffs. It gives you a feel for the band and what to expect for the rest of the album.” – Canadian Beats (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

“The Years of Harsh Truths and Little Lies est un autre chef-œuvre musical que BornBroken nous as pondu. The Years of Harsh Truths and Little Lies est définitivement l’album qui va projeter BornBroken à un autre niveau sur l’échiquier du métal mondial. ” – Quebec Metal (2018 – The Years of Harsh Truths And Little Lies…)

About the Album Artwork:

The artwork for “Am I Invisible” by Born Broken features a striking design with a strong, bold visual impact. Here are some key elements of the artwork:

1. **Title and Band Name**:
– The new band name logo “Born Broken” is prominently displayed at the top in a jagged, aggressive font, colored in dark red. The lettering style conveys a sense of raw energy and intensity.

– The album title “Am I Invisible” is subtly placed at the bottom, in a smaller, clean font. It’s less prominent but adds a haunting, introspective touch to
the overall design.

2. **Central Imagery**:
– The focal point is a large, red eye at the center of the artwork. The eye has a glossy, almost mechanical appearance, giving it an unsettling, intense look. The red color of the eye stands out sharply against the otherwise monochromatic
background.

– The eye is surrounded by a splash of red paint or blood, adding a chaotic and dynamic feel to the design.

3. **Background**:
– The background is a textured mix of black, white, and grey tones, with splatters and drips that add a grungy, distressed effect. This creates a sense of
depth and movement.

– The interplay of light and dark areas in the background enhances the stark contrast with the central red eye, drawing attention to it.

4. **Overall Mood**:
– The combination of the aggressive typography, the intense red eye, and the chaotic background conveys a mood of aggression, introspection, and
intensity.

This artwork effectively captures a dark, intense aesthetic that aligns with our band’s themes and style.

The crescendo resonates with a sense of finality and resignation, reflecting the emotional death experienced when one’s inner light fades away. Overall, the song serves as a powerful anthem for those who have faced or are facing profound personal loss and existential crisis.

*In the context of the instrumental track “The Day I Die Inside,” the term “protagonist” refers to the emotional journey or the internal state being depicted rather than a specific character. The “protagonist” here is the emotional core of the piece—representing the profound sense of loss, disconnection, and existential struggle. This central emotional theme drives the narrative of the instrumental, guiding the listener through the highs and lows of the experience without the need for literal characters.

As Born Broken prepares to unleash their latest album, “Am I Invisible,” the band members reflect on the creative journey and the deep themes explored in their new work. Here’s what they had to say about the album:

“We wanted to create something raw and real.”

“Creating ‘Am I Invisible’ was an intense and rewarding process. This album represents who we are and what we stand for. “This album is incredibly personal for all of us. We poured our hearts into every beat, every note. It’s a journey through our highs and lows. ’Am I Invisible’ speaks to the struggles and emotions we’ve faced as individuals and as a band.

“Musically, this album allowed us to experiment with our roots in metal and it’s structures. We aimed to blend heavy, aggressive riffs with melodic elements to create a dynamic listening experience. ”From the relentless march of time in ‘Time Pays No Respect’ to the existential questions in the title track, every song is a piece of our collective soul.

Tracks like ‘How Strong You Are’ and ‘Fold’ showcase the balance. We’re proud of how the music complements the powerful lyrics. Each track brought out different emotions, from the stress and monotony captured in ‘7 Mondays’ to the introspective nature of ‘Will You Remember.’ Songs like ‘Age of Anger’ address the division and intolerance we see every day. We wanted to use our music to call for unity and empathy. This album is not just a collection of songs; it’s a message, a call to action for anyone who feels unheard or unseen.”

“We’ve always aimed to create music that tells a story, and ‘Am I Invisible’ is our most ambitious story yet. The themes of invisibility, isolation, and resilience are universal, and we wanted to convey them through powerful lyrics and compelling music. The album’s complexity and depth are a testament to our growth as a band.”

We’re grateful to our fans for their unwavering support and hope this album resonates with them as deeply as it does with us. Thank you for joining us on this journey.”

Born Broken is excited to share “Am I Invisible” with the world and invites everyone to experience the raw emotion and powerful messages encapsulated in their latest work. Stay tuned for upcoming events and join the conversation using #AmIInvisible.

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 9, 2024

Symphonic Metal MARBLE’s First Single “Theater Is My Essence”

New Album “T.I.M.E.” Out November 2024 via Rockshots Records

After the excellent reception of the previous album ‘S.A.V.E.’, whose lyrics were centered on the deadly sins and theological virtues, the Italian melodic metal band MARBLE returns to the scene with a new, even more, compact and more ambitious album, the third seal of the band from Mortara (North Italy). ’T.I.M.E.’ revolves around female characters in the history of Western theatre, marking the time in the stylistic evolution of stage performances, starting with the ancient Greek tragedy of Euripides, passing through the British theatre of William Shakespeare, to the Russian social revolution of Anton Čechov, and on to the modern American theatre of Samuel Beckett.

The sextet, with an unchanged lineup and still led by the voice of Eleonora Travaglino, exploits the singer’s years of experience as a theatre actress, bringing to the compositions a heartfelt and dense interpretation that also makes use of important guests such as Ivan Adami (Stranger Vision) on “The Jester Duplicity”, Clode (Tethra) who offers his growl on “Heliosyncrasy” and “Theater Is My Essence”, and finally an entire choir for “Smile In Decay”.

The alternations between tight blast beats and melodic openings are the hallmark of Marble’s sound, focusing on the album ‘T.I.M.E.’ on vocal arrangements and melodic interlocks between guitars and keyboards. The album was produced by the band itself and mixed by Marco Zanibelli (Myriads Lights) at SunDowner Studio and stunning cover artwork by Greek artist Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design (Kamelot, Evergrey, Amaranthe, Suffocation etc.).

“We are proud to present ‘T.I.M.E.’, an album that for us means a leap forward in the composition of music and lyrics. The connection of the songs linked by the thread of theatre is a special concept and we are sure it will hit the mark with some really powerful tracks. Eleonora’s multiple vocal lines are set over a powerful rhythmic base, reminiscent of names such as Nevermore and Evergrey, perfectly set against articulate guitar solos and keyboard arrangements that fill out the sound, all set to Norman Ceriotti’s fast and precise drumming.” adds the band.

Today, the band presents their first single, “Theater Is My Essence”, which is the song that creates the acronym of the album title. It is a very rhythmic song with a heavy guitar sound but with a symphonic and piano arrangement that adds depth to the piece. Eleonora sings about her relationship with the theater, as she has also been an actress for a very long time, how the theater has been her lifeline and escape route and has allowed her to finally be herself wearing the masks of the characters on stage. The growls performed on the track are by guest Clode of the doom metal band Tethra.

Let the curtain rise and immerse yourself in MARBLE’s music.

“MARBLE spielen versiert und sind um Abwechslung sehr bemüht, insbesondere wenn es harscher wird brechen die Italiener auch mal aus dem typischen Melodic Metal aus.” – Metal.de

“La band ha una proposta musicale interessante, che percorre la strada delle sonorità moderne ma senza mai rinunciare alla melodia, pensate a una commistione tra metal melodico e rock moderno che in alcuni passaggi musicali ricorre a elementi progressive.” – Loudandproud.it

“Sonorità accattivanti e moderne, che rivelano gusto compositivo e conoscenza del genere per una produzione potente e una pièce strumentale davvero rocciosa;” – Heavymetalwebzine.it

“an irrepressible mix of heavy guitar riffs, powerful aggressiveness, amazing guitar solos, surprising keyboard harmonies and original technical rhythms by Paul Beretta and Omar Gornati on the guitars, Jacopo Marchesi on keyboards, Daniel Fleba on bass and Norman Ceriotti on drums, blended with frontwoman Eleonora Travaglino’s breathtaking, catchy melodies and epic choruses” – The Headbanging Moose

“i Marble hanno fatto un lavoro pulito, con le sue peculiarità e personalità abbastanza chiare. Si sentono chiaramente le loro radici e chi li ha ispirati, tuttavia propongono una musica discretamente articolata e ragionata, non scritta in cinque minuti insomma.Consigliati a chi ama sonorità oscure, ma comunque potenti e dirette.” – Metalwave.it

“Melodic songs alternate with progressive ones. In addition, there are excursions into the extreme metal area. This should appeal to a wide audience.” – Metalheads Forever Magazine

New EP “The Fallen Lament” Out Now! Digital, CD and Cassette From Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions

L – R – The Popuko – Guitars, Drums, Bass, Backing Vocals, Alice Simard – Guitars, Drums, Jesse Agiomamitis – Vocals

Quebec City, Canada’s Onchocerciasis Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (OxE) is excited to announce the physical release (Cassette / CD) of their latest EP “The Fallen Lament” available as of August 9, 2024, from Stillbirth Records / Gore House Productions (SBR is a GHP sublabel). Fans can now get their hands on this highly anticipated record, featuring the band’s signature blend of brutal death metal and cosmic horror themes. With artwork done by The Popuko and lyrics detailed in the booklet, this is a sleek addition to any brutal collection. Vocalist Jesse Agiomamitis comments:

“Playing this style of music does lend itself to writing lyrics with darker themes than most other genres, but I’m not afraid to write some lyrics that you might not typically see in our genre. A lot of the lyrics on this record may seem superficial and seemingly not serve a purpose beyond being some words in a booklet, but there are quite a few tracks on this record where what I’m saying has some deeper meaning to me personally, once you strip that veil of obscurity.”

This record marks the longest gap between releases for OxE, which isn’t something they had in mind, but great art can’t be rushed out the door. They are certain that this record will be everything fans have wanted and then some because it certainly was for them.

“The Fallen Lament” EP showcases artwork by The Popuko, who captures the essence of the music’s dark and intricate themes. The album reflects a fascination with the concept of a newborn calamity, brought forth by stranger machinations unbeknownst to us. It’s a cosmic horror vibe, suitable for fans of Deathspell Omega, Defeated Sanity, and Enmity.

“It’s brutal as fuck, but it’s also explores the entire bouquet of sick creativity extreme music has to offer. The Fallen Lament is fun. It’s violent and it loves to blur boundaries between already scummy, disgusting genres.” – Vox & Hops Metal Podcast

“This EP is definitely for the lovers of the extreme – fans of Deathspell Omega, Defeated Sanity, and Ulcerate will dig the fuck out of this record. So will fans of Dehumanizing Itatrian Worship, whose Kiryu Zhang contributes vocals on the last track of the EP, ‘Facial Gutting’. 9/10” – Ever Metal

“The tracks revolve around blast beats and slams with some truly impressive breakdowns on display. Lyrics are themed around many different influences including mental health issues that have plagued the bands members, anime and video games making for an interesting read. In essence this EP provides a really promising preview of things to come for this band, who have the potential based on this evidence of creating something special.” – The Razor’s Edge

“OxE are a different beast, very heavy and extreme but different to most bands of this ilk. The best way to describe them would be like Mortician, but with slam riffs! They have that downtuned bass that trawls the depths of hell with its tone and razor-sharp guitars, frantic programmed drums and some seriously deranged vocals. The tracks are short and sweet, the whole EP only goes on for ten minutes twenty one secs but in that time, you feel so bludgeoned and battered listening to it that it feels much longer, almost like you are succumbing to some exquisite torture!| – The Razor’s Edge

“primal and brutal variety of dramatic and booming extreme metal ” – The Viking in the Wilderness

“Brutal gore death grind metal with pig squeally vox” – 89.9 WORT FM – The Moshpit (Madison, WI)

Progressive metal titans The Aphelion, from Ottawa, Canada are proud to announce the release of their highly anticipated progressive metal concept album, “Nascence”, the first of two twin albums, available on August 9th. This ambitious project showcases eight intense tracks that promise to captivate, inspire, and draw the listener into a science fiction world shaped by human experiences. The band shares their thoughts on the release:

“The objective with “Nascence” and “Senescence” was to create a cohesive multi-album spanning story while still having each album contain its own unique musical aesthetics and complete listening experience. In a way, Nascence musically has always been the calm before the storm, and while the songs are almost always rooted in metal, the album grows from a more classical-influenced, beautiful prog-rock flavoured sound to a fast, angry, teeth gnashing finale.”

Musically, the album begins with a more accessible, prog-rock-influenced sound. Songs towards the beginning of the album (“Nascence”, “The Seed of Doubt”) are calmer, catchier, and feature lots of grand piano, violin, and horns. As the album goes on, the sound slowly becomes more dissonant, heavy, and layered with organs, strings, distorted guitars, and synthesizers. These shifts in genre match progressions in the story told by the lyrics, and the growing dissonance and chaos represent the protagonist losing his mind as the story unfolds.

The band explains that “Nascence” and its upcoming counterpart “Senescence” represent the pinnacle of their musical journey. The album features a diverse range of tracks, each contributing to the overarching narrative that delves into philosophy and the human condition. It is recommended for fans of Devin Townsend, Haken, and Leprous.

Before the album “Nascence” officially releases, the band has teamed up with MetalInsider for its full-stream premiere HERE.

Due out on August 9th, 2024, album pre-order for “Nascence” is available at https://theaphelionofficial.bandcamp.com.

“The sonic goal is one of innovation, dramatic flair, and emotional gravity, with unexpected shifts in genre to create contrast and bring levity. With upcoming double album “Nascence” and “Senescence”, The Aphelion are once again telling an album-spanning story inspired by philosophy and the human condition; a tradition that began with their 2018 release “The Labour Division”.” – The ProgSpace

““Fragility!” It’s a wild track that really highlights the bands composing ability, and heavy, yet soulful side.” – Ghost Cult Mag

“The Aphelion’s phenomenal vocal range and enticing clashing of instrumentals will prove to be nothing short of intoxicating.” – Canadian Beats

“What strikes me most about the album is how well the themes fit into the music, as well as the level of care they put into their craft. The music has this thread of tension that runs through it in nearly every song, and the musicianship is outstanding. It can go from calm to on fire in a second, and it keeps the listener actively engaged in both the music and the tale. Bravo. 9/10” – Metal-Temple

““The Seed Of Doubt,” breathes into the liminal testing of time. A song that shimmers and shivers into bright sparks.” – The Median Man

“The Aphelion are very different and refreshingly intriguing. The musicianship is complex as you would expect with prog-metal, but that’s where their genre similarities end. The vocals are wonderfully unique and the tracks from their new album “Nascence” (dropping Aug. 9th) are also full of unique metal passages to take you on a conceptual journey. Tune in & catch The Aphelion on your Home for the Best New Rock…” – WJOE – Findlay’s Home for Rock & Roll

“In this single – which I highly recommend – THE APHELION wanted to capture the essence of the vulnerability we all experience. “Fragility” is a testament to the beauty and strength found in our moments of weakness. For them, it is a piece that resonates on a deeply personal level, both musically and lyrically.” – Plus PROG de Vous

Oshawa, Canada’s Maitreya has a new EP “Auxesis” coming out October 11, 2024, and they are now debuting their second single “Still Motion” to follow the exciting “The Traveler” released this past July. Meshed together with eccentric and riveting progressive metal, lyrically, the track is about gaining the benefit of stillness in clarity and awareness. Being able to forgive yourself for straying from your path, and learning as much as you can along the way. Guitarist Mark Wylie comments on the track:

“Many of my compositions are inspired by practice and studies of Yogic traditions. This song in particular is based on the experience of expansion felt in meditation. The attempt musically was to capture the type of motion felt in an astral out-of-body experience, while still remaining conscious of the physical body. Most notable of this effect compositionally is the rhythmic interplay used in the chorus section. The rhythm has a way of syncopating on and off the beat, creating a type of non-resolving momentum.”

The band goes on to explain that “Still Motion” distills the core features of the “Auxesis” EP into a single track. The marriage of musical intention and lyrical meaning work together to illustrate the journey of one’s spiritual path. The presence of soft, ambient sections is representative of victory and balance in one’s pursuit – while the darker, heavy moments portray the pitfalls and mistakes we make along the way.

Listeners are invited to experience the intricate melodic narrative, where both headbanging metal-heavy riffs and reflective vocal lines co-exist in the vortex of sonic alchemy. Maitreya is especially recommended for fans of The Contortionist, Twelve Foot Ninja, and Leprous.

“We’re always on the hunt for interesting new metal bands, and Canada’s Maitreya certainly qualifies. The band’s newest single, “Catalyst”, treads familiar progressive metal territory – think vocals similar to Leprous and instrumentation akin to older BTBAM – but rest assured it sounds fresh.” – New Fury Media

“Heavy metallers Maitreya recognize the value of dreams with their new single and music video for “Bloom,” a rifftastic blast of progressive metal.” – V13

“What’s on the menu here is a wide range of flavours. There’s something to suit the taste of any serious metal fan. This relatively new band has some good ideas and knows how to execute them. Despite the current restrictions, these guys have plenty of time to bring the Maitreya brand to the fore.” – The Prog Space

“What we have here with Hyper Reels is a fresh take on both progressive metal and metalcore in general. Ten high-powered and heavy efforts that go in a myriad of unexpected and thrilling directions. If there’s one thing Maitreya do well on Hyper Reels, it is to keep you guessing all the time.” Games, Brrraaains & A Headbanging Life

“Ambitious and aggressive, Canada’s Maitreya break boundaries from the beginning with Departed. Heavy, contemporary metal chords are underscored by droning, chorusing vocals, but blink and you’ll miss them as Maitreya soon change direction to a growling verse pandemonium. Their riffing is adventurous and deadly, cutting through weighty, rolling rhythms and movements.” – Jace Media

0 Exitus Stratagem Records – Venture Down “The Road To Samm Hill” In VORAATH’s New Music Video For New Album “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” + MICHIGAN METAL FEST

  • August 7, 2024

NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – August 7, 2024

Venture Down “The Road To Samm Hill” In VORAATH’s New Music Video For New Album “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters”

+ MICHIGAN METAL FEST – Aug 24th – Battle Creek, MI

Transporting you through a portal of sci-fi storytelling and extreme music, Voraath‘s first full-length “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” is brutal yet epic metal. The level of detail that the band has emphasized in this release exposes a grand story of interdimensional worlds and cosmic entities warring while paying homage to their culture in the Appalachian Mountains of the Carolinas.

“This album will be an investment of thought and emotion. We want to immerse the listener in another world. It’s heavy yet sad, brutal yet immersive, so we hope to take everyone on a journey. That journey is scored with metal! We think this album will be something unique, a whirlwind of emotions and an auditory odyssey. We capsulated real events in our lives and laced them through our complex musical universe. We want the fans to feel the music, and ride along with us on this musical journey through our dystopian planet.” adds the band.

Today, that journey continues with the next music video for “The Road To Samm Hill”, a song that outlines the battle with the otherworldly entity as well as discovering a traitor in their ranks. The band explains the story further:

“We have received coordinates to the location of the relay, an alien mechanism that can bend space-time. Employed by EOS Corp, our mission is to retrieve the relay at all costs. As we approach the area of operation, we are confronted by a creature frail and decaying stumbling along the old road. As it approaches us it reaches out its hand, revealing a sort of otherworldly controller. The creature shortly after petrifies and dies. Resuming our journey we come across a barren village, with dead bodies scattered. Further investigating we discover that Ostromek Corp had been conducting experiments on what seems to be an otherworldly entity. The scientist and security officers of Ostromek had seemingly lost control of the creature which had led to the massacre of the local village.”

Watch the music video for “The Road To Samm Hill” via its premiere on MetalAddicts HERE.

In additional news, VORAATH will perform at this year’s Michigan Metal Fest on August 24th in Battle Creek alongside Mushroomhead, (hed) PE, Gideon, and lots more.

An odyssey of hardship, betrayal, survival, and cosmic tales, “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” is recommended for fans of Septic Flesh, Gojira, and Fleshgod Apocalypse, and is available at the following links:

“Crushing Sci-Fi Death Metal” – Metal Injection

“Celebrating Sci-Fi Dystopia, and a Debut Album, with Voraath… We’ve made mention of Carolina’s cinematic sci-fi proggy death metal aliens Voraath in this space before… Well, they’re back with yet another Shudder/SyFy worthy, seemingly budget-busting work of dystopian video art. “The Leviathan’s Keep”” – Decibel Magazine

“Voraath‘s aim is to do more than record and release music. The music is part of a universe they’re creating, drawing upon elements of horror and science-fantasy, which includes significant visual as well as audio portrayals, including the band’s own presentation of themselves on stage — each member appears as a character in the lore of the music” – No Clean Singing

“The fact that the troupe is already so mature and professional on their debut, but also so passionate about it, may be due to the fact, that all musicians were previously employed in other projects. But it wasn’t until VORAATH that they obviously found the repository of their creativity and, completely surprisingly, created a small milestone with “Volume 1: Hymny Of The Hunters!” 9/10″ – PowerMetal.de

“Voraath’s “Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters” isn’t just an album; it’s a meticulously crafted portal into a nightmarish realm where each track unfolds a new chapter of struggle and revelation. With their blend of brutal aggression and melodic nuance, Voraath sets a new standard in storytelling, promising listeners an immersive experience that transcends genres and challenges the boundaries of a musical literary experience. Embrace the darkness and join the hunt—Voraath awaits, ready to lead you through their extreme metal multiverse with unparalleled intensity and imagination.” – Metal Lair

“Voraath‘s Vol 1: The Hymn of the Hunters is a meticulously crafted journey through a rich, dystopian world. The band’s ability to blend metal with intricate storytelling sets them apart, creating an immersive experience that is both brutal and thought-provoking. Voraath has set a high bar with their debut, promising even greater adventures in the metal multiverse they are meticulously crafting.” – Amplify The Noise

“this first Voraath album sends us into a cosmic epic” – Eklektik Rock

“The Barrens offers a blend of crushing riffs and distinctive soundscapes, delivering a unique cinematic soundtrack.” – Metal Insider

“US band Voraath are out with the album “Vol 1. The Hymn of the Hunters”, and this is a production that might well be of interest for fans of progressive metal. And a case could be argued for this album to be defined as extreme progressive metal too. Tight, form and hectic extreme metal is at the core of this album, with a handful or so of distorted lead vocals combining with hard and tight guitar and rhythm combinations as the core elements throughout…. An album for those who tend to enjoy a more sophisticated and dynamic variety of extreme metal that may possibly also be defined to reside inside of the extreme progressive metal tradition.” – Progressor

“It gives me great pleasure to tell you that Creation’s Call is a blast. Siege Perilous has succeeded in creating what I would call Epic Power Metal for the Working Man. They don’t waste your time with overlong symphonic interludes between tracks, melodramatic narration, or overproduction that tests the limits of your sanity. The band gets right to the point and pulls you into their epic tales of heroic daring immediately. This is a nice breath of fresh air and if this EP is anything to go by, Siege Perilous has a great future ahead of them. Yes, this could be considered power metal but the no-nonsense approach and urgency to the songwriting makes this release absolutely worth checking out for those of us in the NWOTHM scene. Plus, it’s really just a lot of fun. This one is highly recommended. THENWOTHM SCORE: 9/10” – The NWOTHM

“[Betrayal of the Dracolich] was one of my favorite metal EPs of 2022” – Harry Cane Twisted Mind Radio

Atomis, Post-Metal from Calgary, Canada was a music and visual artist group, created by Nathan Navetto, Matthew McLaughlin, Taylor Johnson, and Bryan Buss in 2010. Combining elements of post-rock/metal, electronic, and cinema, Atomis had created a unique voice in their music/visual hybrid live performances. They disbanded in 2020 due to the passing of drummer Nathan Navetto and are now releasing a box set of all the music they have ever created, as a tribute to the late him. Before the release of the collection they are streaming the single “12 Chains”, which bassist Bryan Buss comments on:

“12 Chains is a driving, repetitive, droning track that constantly moves forward until it breaks. We have an upcoming video for this one directed by Doug Cook that will perfectly show what one can go through in life, always searching for answers.”

Musically, the box set showcases the entirety of Atomis, all the way from the drawing board, to a polished album, but in reverse. Each of the three CDs showcases three eras of the band in constant creation mode. They are excited to finally share IT ALL, “polished” or not.

The set includes their self-titled album recorded in 2014, including four long tracks that have never been performed live; “Welcome to the Void” – Navetto’s experimental version of their debut with eight extra synth-laden tracks; and a “Live off the Floor” demo album capturing raw performances from 2010-2014.

Dynamic and crushing, this triple threat of post-metal is recommended for fans of Isis, Neurosis, and The Ocean.

What the press has said about them:

“The songs are epic and can almost be described as soundscapes, as they incorporate everything from crushing metal riffs to peaceful ambient noise.” – Matt Petti, Beatroute Magazine

“Before the first viewing of the video, Canadian director and film-maker Doug Cook gave an introductory speech about the making of the video and working with Atomis. They created a video that perfectly complimented the band’s music and fans asked to watch it a second time (and then even a third time before the venue closed). Cook has been working with many Calgary metal bands lately, such as Divinity, Orphan Hammer and the Unravelling. He has also worked on some videos that may be a little more well known around the globe including “Breaking the Broken” by Control Denied, “Prolong the Agony” by Morta Skuld and the upcoming video for Death’s “Pull the Plug”.” – Evilg – Metal Sucks
