NEWS RELEASE

Montreal, QC – September 26, 2017

For fans of Ghost, Syd Barrett/Floyd, Psych-era Beatles, Early Sabbath,

70’s prog: Yes, King Crimson, etc, QOTSA, Tool, My Bloody Valentine

Montreal Psych Rock A DEVIL’S DIN Album Premiere “One Hallucination Under God” via Psychedelic Baby Mag

Album Due Out September 29th

Montreal psych rock trio A Devil’s Din will be releasing third studio album “One Hallucination Under God” this coming Friday, September 29th and before it officially drops, the band has teamed up with It’s Psychedelic Baby Mag for the exclusive full stream, which can be heard at the following link: http://www.psychedelicbabymag.com/2017/09/a-devils-din-one-hallucination-under.html

Dave Lines vocalist / guitarist comments:

“If I had to describe the album in one word it would be: fun. There are plenty of head-boppin’ moments and there’s a really nice flow that takes you from earth to the stars and back in less than an hour. We got sweet fuzzed-out guitar tones, harmonies, melodies, hooks…and gongs! It’s a nice ride. And embedded throughout are certain words and phrases designed to elicit new ideas, widen the field of perception, and inspire a more cosmic outlook on life. Which is also fun. Especially on acid. It’s an incredible place to be as an artist: creatively free, without any limitations, so we can offer the world our fun and fuzzy freakadelic rock music.”

“One Hallucination Under God” follows the band’s two previous albums “Skylight” (2016) and “One Day All This Will Be Yours” (2011). The band is the psychedelic brainchild of UK-born Montreal-based multi-instrumentalist David Lines; joined on his creative journey by disciple of the Rickenbaker bass Thomas Chollet, and virtuoso drummer Dom Salameh.

They are a trio of sonic alchemists that together create a chemical wedding of cosmic chords, constantly seeking the philosopher’s stone of the perfect psychedelic song…and as we all know, it’s not the journey…it’s the trip, which they certainly do well taking listeners on a ride to the center of the psyche with their superb mind-expanding music created for all the right reasons. The band is inspired by The Beatles (66,67), Syd Barret-era Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Byrds.

“One Hallucination Under God” will be available on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Bandcamp as of September 29th, 2017 .

“There’s a really adventurous but relaxing sound to One Hallucination Under God. Kicking off with the trippy & mind-warping rock melody of Brave New World. It’s a start that will put a big smile on the face thanks to the feel-good vocals & hooky guitar riffs.” – Games, Brrraaains & A Headbanging Life

“Rock ’n’ roll on the timeless precipice of psychedelic, progressive, transgressive danger. Be warned.”  –Lorraine Carpenter, Montreal Mirror/ Cult Mtl

“This trio reminded me of a psychedelic, more-progressive version of Black Sabbath. ” – Bucketlist Music Reviews

“I love to take a trip back into the glorious sounds of vintage psychedelic rock music and I would honestly suggest you do the same.” – Merchants of Air

“easy listening, sit back and enjoy the ride.” – Kats Metal Litter Box

“the band has one very important thing! Good songs. And even more special, great lyrics.” – ProgShine

“If you like old Jefferson Airplane, Yellow Submarine era Beatles and the like then you should dig the hell out of A Devil’s Din. I found it to be a lot of fun.” – Thy Demons Be Scribblin

” really love a great power trio, and A Devil’s Din is a power trio that sound like a 5 piece. The record is good listening, with some songs needing undivided attention due to the poetic lyrical content. With that being said, Skylight is a record with many layers and deserves many listens.” – Slickster Magazine

“Skylight is driven with hooks, and melodies and sprawling lead playing. I bet seeing these guys play live in an open air festival would be quite the experience.” – Kingston Music Reviews

“Drawing from Cream, Syd Barrett Pink Floyd, and all points in between, A Devil’s Din has reminded us how beautiful music once was.” – Glacially Musical

“It sounds like Cynic mixed with The Algorithm, Last Chance To Reason, and others. It’s a shame this is only an EP, because I wand so much more.” – Metal Injection

“It’s very much a ‘thinking outside of the box’ type of EP, with many different instruments and musical styles blended together.” – PureGrainAudio

“Chaoth (Frederick Filiatrault) is undoubtedly a member of the ranks of the most outstanding Canadian musicians.” – Silence-Magazin

“We may have the arrival of a whole new genre or style of music with what’s happening here from Montreal, Quebec’s Vvon Dogma I. Having just released the “Communion” EP in recent days, the music contained upon it is quite forward thinking progressive metal at its roots.” – Riff Relevant

“Chaoth is a M-A-S-T-E-R at what he does on the bass. At not a single point does he sink to the lower three strings, to prove how djent he can be, for more than ten seconds, and never does he get too noodly to enjoy what’s going on. The guy can fuckin’ PLAY a bass…What I immediately noticed with the Communion EP was that all the songs (there are four) sounded really well rounded… what it SOUNDS like is the unholy child of Les Claypool and Meshuggah. Just picture that for a second.” – Blood Rock Media

“Vvon Dogma I’s new EP has more than twice as many bass strings than tracks…an explosive look at Frederick Filliatrault’s new project, one that he conceived almost entirely as an excuse to write with his nine-string bass. Yep. Nine strings. On a bass…the Canadian band’s debut starts them off strong.” – All About The Rock
“a very unique EP.” – Games, Braaains & A Headbanging Life

“Vvon Dogma I really makes you feel that there is a well planned progression that aims to make you go through different stages until you reach a safe place” – RTMB Music

“”Communion projects a cocktail of Creative Rock and Metal of outstanding quality that will appeal to the connoisseur of all things out there in prog and avant-garde space. This is some wild shit. And does the RMR office suite like wild? Damn straight we do. And so should you – get some.” – Rock Music Raider

“This is a band that have managed to create their own brand of odd progressive metal…This is a band that does to djent what Claypool does to funk and Patton does to rock and metal. An out there and challenging affair, and most likely with more of a niche appeal due to that. But those who get it will enjoy this stuff immensely.” – Progressor

Vvon Dogma I are pioneers and trailblazers, eschewing moribund genre categorizations to create music both strange and beautiful, to misquote Shakespeare: ‘something unique this way comes’.

Inspired by artists as diverse as Radiohead, Meshuggah, Deftones, James Blake, Jean Baudin, Die Antwoord, Clint Mansell, Igorrr, Arvo Part and Hans Zimmer, Vvon Dogma I’s creative lynchpin Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH formerly of Unexpect explains his new band’s unusual name.

“Vvon Dogma I is an expression that I created that means to me the second incarnation of any entity, the evolution from one state of being to another one that is infinitely more powerful or conscious or evolved. Either it being through death when you leave your body to become pure soul, or a larger societal level where we are leaving the naivety and simplicity of the modern era and stepping into a more complex and conscious 21st century world. Vvon Dogma I is that moment when you step into your second incarnation and become infinitely more conscious”

Fredrick was driven to form Vvon Dogma I when his previous band Unexpect parted ways. He had to find the right musicians and he had to create these songs in order to find inner peace.

“The songs were like living entities needing to be drawn into our world. The music is so original it is hard for me to categorise and it will definitely challenge music fans, but ultimately I think it will satisfy them beyond what any generic band copying what has gone before ever could.”

Frederick hopes the fans will get something truly special from the music that is a blend of everything he is musically and is definitely more accessible than what he has done in the past.

“I wanted to feature my freak instrument of a nine-string bass. It is often a Frankenstein of bits and pieces of writing. But I also want people to know it’s not about shredding or anything. I wanted to see how I could apply this weird playing style in a musically accessible venue. My art is song writing plus arranging and the 9 string is only one aspect of it. I find it definitely adds an interesting flavor. Hopefully people will see it for what it is as a whole.”

Vvon Dogma I’s debut EP “Communion” features four tracks experimenting with elements of prog, djent, funk, and electronic sampling to create a sound truly all their own. Their first single, the EP’s title track, is a trip for the true lovers of outside the box thinking, bashing the low ends with a pummeling and dominating 9 string bass accompanied by the ripping of an 8 string guitar along with some morbid electronic samples for good measure. “Communion” will definitely get the true avant-garde tech musicians anticipating more with the small taster.

Vvon Dogma I’s EP “Communion” is due out October 27th and available for pre-order on the band’s bandcamp here with immediate download of EP title track.

Vvon Dogma I is:
Frederick Filiatrault aka ChaotH – 9 String Bass
Blaise B. Léonard – Synths and Violin
Yoan Marier-Proulx – 8 String Guitar
Kevin Alexander – Drumz

“What you have is a forward looking, very deep and multi-layered progressive album that draws a just bit on past works.” – Metal Underground (Review Vertigo)

“Vertigo offers something really impressive, it is great symphonic power metal with some forward thinking meaning that they sound very fresh and exciting. The arrangements, the songs, everything is great on this album and I don’t think it has any weaknesses – not any worth mentioning anyway. I find this to be very appealing and when it comes to making symphonic power metal I think you will have to look very long and very hard to find anything that rivals these guys.” Hallowed

““Vertigo” is a very accomplished album with great thought given to the music and the lyrics, as well as the atmospheric nature of the record. As in most Symphonic Metal albums, this album features blistering lead guitar work and choir vocals. Operatic vocals and cello melodies are incorporated to give an epic feel to the tracks. However, this album varies from other albums of similar sounding bands due to the band’s commitment towards, not only aural gratification, but also the way they set about creating a visual tapestry with their tunes.” – Metal Temple

“Each song on itself is a masterpiece filled with symphonic and power metal parts accompanied by great guitar riffs and solo’s. To complete the picture with songs like “Metamorphosis” they each tell their own story and yet when they are put together they show us the world of Gabriel the main character…This album is by far one of the best ones to come out in a while, it has the whole package a story, skilled band members, great producing and it’s as original as it can.” – Grimm Gent (Review Vertigo)

“Sound Storm may seem an epic power metal band. Occasionally, they emit a vicious edge. The compelling melodies of singing and guitar work cannot be counted on one hand. Everything is accompanied by a lot of electronic and symphonic pieces. After a brief intro ‘The Dragonfly’ sounds like a fairytale splendor with its many different styles and parts. Everything is brought with a good dose of bombast.” – Lords of Metal (Review Vertigo)

“Like Parmigianino painting a beautiful landscape in the 1500’s, Sound Storm paints its own masterpiece with each band member adding broad strokes to the soundscape of ‘Immortalia.'” – Metal Underground (Review Immortalia)

Sound Storm was founded in 2002 in Turin, a city in the north west of Italy. The band started composing their own material, with the first three or four tracks finished by the end of 2003.

After two self-released titles (“The Storm is coming…” – Demo, 2005 – and “Northern Wilderness” – EP, 2007 -), in 2008 the band released their debut album “Twilight Opera”, which has an incredible high quality production, strings section and a 9-pieces choir.
The album was mastered at Finnvox Studios by Mika Jussila and released worldwide by Rising Records (UK).

In summer 2010, Sound Storm toured Mexico for the first time: the band played 11 gigs across the country with incredible success and hundreds of people attending each show.

In 2012, Sound Storm signed a worldwide deal with Scarlet Records for the release of their album ‘Immortalia’. That chapter marked another important milestone for the band, mixing their wide range of influences in a piece of work perfectly balanced between powerful guitars, magnificent symphonic choirs, gothic atmospheres and baroque melodies.

Recorded, mixed and mastered at Metal House Studio by Ettore Rigotti (Disarmonia Mundi), ‘Immortalia’ is a stunning concept album on the quest for eternal life, an amazing journey through literature, poetry and history, a collection of songs linked together by the common theme of the immortality of the soul. The evocative artwork was handled by Felipe Machado Franco (Blind Guardian, Rhapsody Of Fire). ‘Immortalia’ was released August 28th, 2012.

Shortly after the band supported Norwegian Gothic Metal veterans Tristania on their European tour. At the end of 2012, Sound Storm also toured Italy with Epica and Haggard.

The “Immortalia tour” continued into to 2013, first with some headlining shows across Italy, then with some international festivals and at the end of the year another tour all over Europe again.

The “Rock Opera Unveiled” tour took place in December of 2013 featuring Therion, Arkona, Sound Storm, The Devil and hit the best stages all over Europe, including the “Eindhoven Metal Meeting” festival.

Between 2014 and 2015, Sound Storm got on another European tour with the German Metal Orchestra Haggard: The “Symphonic Autumn/Winter Blast” tour and the “Dragonfest” tour,  kicking off in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Slovakia for a total of 15 shows across the best European clubs.

After several line-up changes between 2014 and 2015, the band eventually found a top-quality team by recruiting Elena Crolle on keyboards, Alessandro Bissa (Vision Divine, Labyrinth) on drums, Sascha Blackice on the rhythm guitar and Fabio Privitera as lead singer.

“Vertigo” is the new band’s latest album, created with an extra purpose than “simple” music.
Besides being a top-quality album for the compositions and the production – it was produced in the Netherlands at “Sandlane Recording Facilities” with Joost Van Den Broek (Epica, Ayreon, Xandria etc) who worked with the band from the first moment of conception.

“Vertigo” is something more than a metal album, the music has a cinematic purpose. It’s a mindful screenplay born across two years of hard work. The music itself required a strong video addition to the project, and this lead the band to start collaborating with a cinematic crew, involved for the development of the whole concept.

The overall concept of “Vertigo” is a Victorian – steam punk story, firstly based on Dante’s Inferno idea and then developed to a more psychological/introspective way. Gabriel is the main character of the story, an unsuccessful composer who becomes a scientist, starting a war against his troubled mind and forcing himself to destroy everything beloved. The only handhold seems to be a mystic dragonfly, leading Gabriel among the floors of a huge spiral staircase.

Being the same as the production, also the “live” feature is a basic aspect of the concept: the band intends to represent a sort of live-musical, with a massive use of cinematic elements (video, fireworks, pyros, led lights etc) and the transposition of the fiction into reality.

The official release party of the whole project took place at “Lucca Comics & Games”, the largest comics and video games convention in Europe, where Sound Storm was headlining the main stage on Halloween. The show has been entirely filmed for a future DVD release.

“VERTIGO” was released in Europe on December 2, 2016 and will be released in North America on October 13th via Rockshots Records. “Vertigo” has been nominated for Album of The Year/ Top album in many reviews/magazines/webzines, in Italy, Sweden, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria.

The kings of comedy rock PSYCHOSTICK announce they will be embarking on “The Veloci-Turkey-Saurus Rex Tour” presented by Zildjian with support from Arsonists Get All The Girls (on select dates), Kissing Candice and Raven Black. The tour will kick off in St. Louis, MO on November 2nd and wrap up in Pittsburgh, PA on December 9th. The band of jokesters have been busy writing new material to exclusively share with fans on this tour to follow their 2014 treasure “Revenge of The Vengeance” that featured tracks of comedy genius such as “Obey The Beard”, “Dogs Like Socks”, “Quack Kills”, “Bruce Campbell” (a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action hero), “NSFW” featuring Bill Manspeaker (founder of Green Jellÿ) plus a spoof cover of Kenny Loggins’ “Danger Zone” among many more.

“Although Zildjian is nearly a 400-year-old company, Alex from Psychostick has not been playing its cymbals exclusively for quite that long (just for the past 10), we are extremely excited that they are sponsoring the tour to celebrate his 10-year anniversary as an endorser. The line up for this tour pretty cool, it’s a great mix and each band offers something memorable. I’d love to watch this show as a fan without all those “got-a-show-to-play” responsibilities. So while I’m backstage doing lame guitar warm up scales, I’ll be imagining how much fun I could be having in the audience watching Arsonists Get All the Girls tear everyone a new asshole, and I’ll live vicariously through the applause and excitement I hear.” says guitarist Joshua “The J” Key.

In addition to the tour, the band like to remind fans that No-Shave November is getting near and to be aware by embracing their hair, which many cancer patients lose and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives, and aid those fighting the battle. They ask fans to share their video “Obey The Beard” with the hashtags #obeythebeard and #noshaveovember and to please donate to https://no-shave.org/.

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, and a style of music they’ve coined as ‘humorcore’. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US of A, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Now residing in Chicago, IL, the almost 100 percent do-it-yourself laugh factory Psychostick have released four full-length albums–‘We Couldn’t Think of a Title’ (2006), ‘Sandwich’ (2009), ‘Space Vampires VS Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D’ (2011) and ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance’ (2014)—and two EPs—their holiday album, ‘The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride’ (2007), and ‘The Digital Appetizer’. With their signature sound (Chimaira, Machine Head and Hatebreed sexing Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic) their most recent offering, the crowd-funded ‘IV: Revenge of the Vengeance‘ includes the beard anthem ‘Obey the Beard’ and popular ‘Dogs Like Socks’, ‘Quack Kills’, ‘So. Heavy.’, ‘Blue Screen’, and a tribute to the 21st century’s most beloved action super hero, ‘Bruce Campbell’. Psychostick are crazy to share with fans many more comedy sing-a-longs on the road and more!

0 Overdrive Mag – Mason – Impervious “”The whole album is a massive step up, with tracks like “Tears of Tragedy” and “Cross This Path” showing a crucial yet smooth growth from the sound Mason have solidified in their 8 year career. Each song feels like it has had so much attention poured into it, which is the natural result of the band working hard to create a release that stands tall amongst their peers. The breakneck speed and technicality on songs like “Hellbent on Chaos” and “Sacrificed” is straight up intimidating, and I found myself constantly going back to these songs just to revel in the insanity…. this album is everything Mason stands for and represents, but bumped up to the next tier. I’m very excited to see how they try to top this one.”

Buried Realm

“Buried Realm’s debut album The Ichor Carcinoma, which sees the next chapter in the soul key band member Josh Dummer’s, emotionally charged dark twisted vision come to life in the form of a hard hitting, electrifyingly intense experience for fans of Heavy Metal to experience and enjoy.”
